• Elizabeth (8/5): Groovy stay above an old (dog friendly) pub. - Lovely location in a restored old pub. The rooms were modern and nice and the bed was comfy. The best part is that the pub downstairs does great food, and dogs are allowed, so you will get to meet so many gorgeous dogs during your stay. It was quite expensive (that's probably all of Sydney). Also the aircon didn't work, but that is something they were surprised about and got someone out to look at it straight away.

The area's great, the staff's lovely and the rooms are clean and spacious. Book this one without a single doubt! Also, the city centre's 2 stations away on T8, so connectivity's easy too.

• David (7/5): Hit and miss - Comfy bed and good shower. The tea and coffee facilities are in the hallway right next to the lift. So if you want an early morning cuppa you have to go down the hall to make it, which is weird. There is plenty of space in the room to put a kettle etc. Also, my room was cleaned and they took all the towels and bath mats etc but didn't replace them. I called the reception to request more, but it went to answer phone. I left a voice message and also messaged them on the app, but I didn't get any new towels so used my facecloth as a hand towel! Finally, when I got home late on Saturday the main entrance door was stuck open meaning anyone could get into the hotel. It was still open the next morning. Not good from a security perspective.

• Louise (9/5): Incredible value in the Inner West - The Kurrajong is a lovely art deco hotel that has been beautifully renovated. The room was really lovely, very clean and comfortable. We had a larger room overlooking the park. The room rates were so reasonable. The location is great if you need to be in the inner west. Five minutes walk to Erskineville Station, fifteen minute walk to Newtown Station. Lovely cafes across the road. The pub has great food too. The tea and coffee station is shared across the floor. It was clean and well stocked but needed more larger mugs.

The only thing I would suggest is a full length mirror somewhere in your room or the hallway. Great stay. We loved it and would stay again.

• Gary (8/5): A friendly, comfortable hotel in a nice neighborhood. - Ease of access, staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet; I had no connecting walls with other rooms. In room controls for climate control were intuitive. Lift access to all floors. Very good in-house restaurant and bar. Easy street parking at the door. Short walk to Erskineville station and local restaurants. Newtown about 15 minute walk for more nightlife and transport options. Water pressure in the shower could be better. Doors to rooms don't have a soft close mechanism; so lots of banging during busy hours. No access to a microwave if you want to heat some food.

• Olivia (8/5): cute location but cramped space - close to public transport. nice pub downstairs. very cute interiors not made for people with bigger bodies. very cramped space with poorly designed bathroom. very hard to get in and out of the shower at times. corridors are quite loud. the stated ‘breakfast ammenities’ is a coffee cart in hallway with barely any mugs (no takeaway cups either) and no toaster which was disappointing.

Also had some lovely easter treats in the room I had some issues with the air conditioning- i tend to run hot and i couldn't quite get it right. A room fan would have been great.

• Liz (9/5): Fabulous hotel stay in Erskineville. - Kurrajing Hotel is a beautifully renovated pub. The rooms are very well designed & furnished, & the decor is lovely. We were in the Queen Suite on the 2nd floor, which was quiet, & has a lovely outlook to the park.There's a free coffee & tea 'station' on each floor, & you can refill jugs of sparkling water from the bar to have in your room. The staff are genuinely excellent - they're so friendly, & it seems nothing is a problem for any of them. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the pub restaurant, and the wine list is impressive. And it's about a 6 minute walk to Erskineville train station, or 11 minutes to Macdonaldtown station. This is a really great place to stay in the inner west. Certainly not a big issue, but the rooms only have free to air TV available, or you can cast from your own device via their wifi. The wifi isn't great though, so the quality of anything we cast was fairly unwatchable. Otherwise, we loved everything.

Nice sedate pub underneath selling good beer and great food, with a discount for guests. No in-house facilities for breakfast, but two superb cafés next door; open early. The room was listed as a "double", which seems to be their smallest size: ideal for one person but might be a squeeze for two.

Really trendy, clean, so easy to get to and super easy parking out the front (note weekday hours are timed until 6pm, not paid, but weekends are not). I think we got an accessible room (booked a queen). So this was far bigger than expected which was a nice surprise. Just FYI though if you are booking an accessible room, the beds are quite high. Id definitely stay again!! Great location, beautiful street, walking distance to Newtown. Cafe across the street that we didn’t try but looked very busy and popular There is a communal area out the front of the elevator with kettles, tea, coffee machine. If you’re near here (like our room was) it can be a bit noisy in the morning with people making coffees and chatting. Next time I’d request a room at the end of the hall away from this area ☺️
