Guest Reviews
- Brandon (10/5): Classic cozy relaxation at The 1957 House. - We loved every minute at The 1957 House. It was quiet, comfortable and classic. Wish we could have stayed longer. Nothing comes to mind.
- Christina (10/5): A quaint home filled with warmth, comfort, and ease. It’s cozy, accessible, and full of books! - We loved the proximity of the property to the Wave Bus transportation, which has been free over the last couple of years for travel around the island. It was a 2-minute walk to the bus and a 10-12 minute walk to the beach, which was absolutely serene!!! Patrick, our local host was an exceptional communicator and responsive to about needs. There wasn’t a thing I disliked about the property :)
- Lauren (8/5): Very good -
- Kalena (10/5): Charming and authentic Nantucket home - Love the location near Madaket and conveniently located near the bus stop. This is actually the second year in a row I've booked this property and it does not disappoint!
- Mutita (9/5): Great find. We would stay here again. -
- Lesley (8/5): Very good -
- Tracy (7/5): Family trip to celebrate our daughter’s graduation. - Easy to find, private (1)furniture was uncomfortable (2)their were spiderwebs in numerous places (3)there is a broken drawer in the kitchen (4) lampshade in the twin bedroom are torn
- Kiana (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (8/5): Very good - I booked this place because of the price, I didn’t even care how many bedrooms it came with it. It just happened to be available and cheaper than any other option at the time I was shopping around. The fact that it came with three bedrooms was a bonus because I was able to invite my parents and we were all comfortable with four adults and a child. The place was clean and didn’t really smell musty but the windows were not sealed up well around the air conditioners allowing some moths and insects to get in. It also did not help to conserve energy letting cold air to escape. Yes the place is dated but had plenty of character and creature comforts added over the years. The important things were updated such as bathtub& shower wall, toilets, sinks, and kitchen microwave. The 80’s coffee machine is hanging on for dear life. We scavenged beach chairs from garage and put together a rag tag collection of beach gear to bring to the beach. They were alittle sketchy and had mold growing on them but worked just fine. There’s also a bunch of old bicycles in the garage that need lots of work but definitely would have been used had they been functioning. There was plenty of towels, good water pressure which was always hot when needed. BackYard was great for bbq, loved the bamboo privacy fence. I enjoyed the location being outside of town. Island is small enough to get around easy. Thanks for letting us stay here.
- Tianqing (10/5): The location of this home is great, it's a 15-20 minute walk from the beach, and the bus passes by very conveniently - Very historic furniture. I am so glad to live in this property.
- Casey (7/5): Felt like we were staying at Grandmas house! Had everything we needed and great located to have a quiet stay on Nantucke - I loved that it had everything we needed including beach toys! The beds were spring mattresses - but I know that’s a personal preference!
- Irwan (4/5): Good facility but poor response to problem by the property manager. - The property itself was fine with adequate supplies. House was clean and comfortable, old but charming with nice little details and decorations. Many of the lights were unplugged, location is a little far from the city, during last morning all water in the house was shutdown for unknown reason in the middle of people shower, so was very inconvenienced, called property manager but nobody came until we checked out.
- Julie (5/5): Not very comfortable but great spot - Location Freezing no heat
- Agam (8/5): Very good -
- Manuela (10/5): We had the best weekend in Nantucket! - The house was super well kept. Beds were very clean and cozy. The house was super close to the beach and had a cute walking path. We really enjoyed how calm the area was and the value just can't be beat! It is a little difficult to get here without a car but ubers/cabs are very accessible.
