Guest Reviews
- Stephen (1/5): Never again under this management - Leaving to get another hotel. No one to welcome us, no one answered the phone, definitely didn't like the fact that they wanted bank details to take €150 security deposit when nothing is mentioned when booking.
- Steve (7/5): - Location Nothing
- Gordon (5/5): - The peace and quiet. The peace and quiet. Did not see a staff member. Had to go find a neighbour. One door was open my key was in the lock. Tumbleweed rolled through the courtyard. The cats were playing banjos!!!
- Dominique (10/5): Super, très bien, et table généreuse. -
- Steven (8/5): -
- Rachael (5/5): Was a lovely place but was ruined by the private event - The room was clean and tidy & had a beautiful view of the landscape. The was an event on and we were the only room that was involved so we were woken up by drunken people on the stairs (which ran through out bathroom) We also wanted a drink from the bar but were told we would have to drink it in our room. We were not told prior to arriving that there was an event on.

- Sylvain (6/5): -
- David (9/5): -
- Suzanne (6/5): Friendly and comfortable but needs some basic maintenance. - The location was amazing and staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was large and beds very comfortable. Farm animals in the garden were lovely. Pretty good breakfast, although space in breakfast room was extremely tight so we couldn't get up to get food. Restaurant was great, with good atmosphere and tasty food. Great position for Le Shuttle. I'm glad we were only staying one night as we wouldn't have used the shower, where the sealant was black with mould and the radiator was covered in rust (although the porcelain had been well cleaned). The bedroom blind was broken and we had to stick it up with tape- clearly a long term problem, as others had done the same. Wifi was not working and we were not given any check-in information on arrival. We had been told there was a pool, but there was no sign of it. All such a shame, as this has the potential to be an incredible place, but really needs a little investment and some simple maintenance.
- Frederik (2/5): - The sleeping room (stains and holes on/in the bed linen, spider webs and dusts, dirty carpet) and the shower were dirty (mold and the dirtiest seals I have ever seen). Everything was very run-down (holes in bath room door, old screw holes in the wall not closed with screw anchors sticking out, the door could not be closed without the key because it was broken). The room smelled badly. Wifi did not work.
- Elen (4/5): Budget friendly, convenient location. - We stayed in a good-sized family room with a lovely view over the animals and farmland, which was a nice touch. The room came with basic amenities as expected. Close to the tunnel convenient for an early crossing. The food was expensive, with no kids’ options, and only offered as a set meal with just two choices. The room itself felt musty and dusty, and there was an occasional unpleasant smell of drains from the bathroom. The shower was only lukewarm in the evening, and by the morning there was no hot water at all — making it impossible to shower. The sink tap also had no hot water. As we had an early crossing there was no time to raise the issue prior to departure.
- Chanelle (10/5): Excellent - Everything was perfect as always, we have stayed here many times, the rooms are spotless and the beds are comfy the amenities are everything you need. They was a log fire burning in the communal area with seats and books to read, and an evening meal was arranged for guests even thought it was their holiday season as we stayed in the 2nd Jan, the staff are always friendly and happy to help, we will definitely be staying here again,
- Gilles (9/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Beautiful place excellent food lovely hosts - Beautiful Nothing
- Carlo (1/5): Stinking hell hole - Location to the Channel tunnel and nothing else. Literally everything, arrived along with other guests zero staff to greet us, the other guests had to call the owners out.
The towels were wet and on the bed, it was like they had just been washed without detergent spined and put onto the bed they stunk. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was freezing, the shower had no way of attaching the head to anything so you had to just hold onto it to wash yourself.
Over all it was a hellish start to our holiday and we will never go near the place again, the pictures are clearly of some other establishment and the remotely positive reviews must be paid for.
- Gordon (8/5): Good as always - Have been visiting for over 10 years now. Its a different experience in season as the restaurant is open. Great stopover for the tunnel.
- Carl (10/5): - How friendly it was. will be definitely staying again we will be looking forward to having a drink with a meal soaking in those outstanding views brilliant keep it going guys
- Katherine (5/5): - Lovely countryside location, would be good for dog walks and convenient for Calais. Whilst it's probably lovely in summer, this place is closed in winter but they still let you book a room. I think I was the only person on site, someone showed up to let me in a room and then left again. Most lights in the building didn't turn on, the heating was off leaving it pretty cold, and I had to raid another room for toilet paper as there was none provided. Wasn't very clean and the bathroom had black mould growing on the ceiling.
- Gona (4/5): -
- Vikki (3/5): -
- F J (6/5): - The room was fine with comfortable bed. En suite was a little small but perfectly functional. I was a little disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t open during my stay and that the ‘kitchenette’ area that used to be available to visitors to prepare their own food was no longer present - unlike my previous visit 3 years ago.
Other than when checking in, staff were not available nor could be found on site, which was a little odd to me.
- Gordon (9/5): Short and sweet. - I stop there often as it is easy access to the tunnel. Out of season restaurant closed but it is understandable as there is not sufficient clientele to keep it open.
- Emily (10/5): -
- emma (5/5): Budget friendly but could do better - Parking available Not informed online that restaurant not open Sunday evenings. Not even the offer of some toast or a sandwich.. Long day on the Motorcycles in the wind and rain, they suggested riding into town for food, which after a day like we had was not an option. No facilities for drinks either as no water in the room or tea/coffee making facilities and bar/restaurant closed.
Damp towels, Reception closed so couldn't change them.
Dusty and tired looking in places. Just a little more effort and that would of made a big difference
- Cecile (8/5): -
- Kerry (1/5): No communication regarding restaurant - Nothing When booking we wanted a place to sleep after driving from south of france that had a restaurant on site so we did not have to drive any more. I emailed to book a table no response, so I tried to phone, when I did they told me it was closed on Mondays even though this was not on the mobile app. He told me 2 min drive to town, was 5 mins and only 1 place open on a Monday. When I asked about this in the place I was meet with that’s not my problem it’s on the main internet but when travelling not many people take there laptop or computers only there mobile. I also showed him that there said there was a charge for children menu but nothing about limited availability. We decided to leave as we had travelled for 8 hours to get there to have no food. The person was quite rude regarding this so I didn’t feel comfortable staying. Then I messaged to see if we could have a more reasonable response but was meet with rudeness again. Given they had not replied to my initial email asking about booking a table for over 24 hours he replied within 2 mins to this request asking for some help.
As you can see from the image there is nothing about certain opening hours like there were on others hence why we booked.
- Laurence (6/5): Not inline with advertised but an ok stop over for the tunnel - The staff member was welcoming and very helpful. The beds were comfy and on the whole a quiet location. It’s a great location for catching the shuttle. We were only given short notice that the restaurant would not be open and we struggled to find an alternative.
There is no pool on site. We were under the impression from booking.com that we could pay to use a pool. I think the pool they refer to is at a local campsite open to all - this is misleading.
The covers on the bed had muddy paw prints in them.
- Scott (2/5): - Good location for Calais and Eurotunnel.
Great views over the hills and farmland.
Small. Holding animals friendly for children to. Look at. Facilities and service are poor.
Pictures and description are misleading. After booking we were informed Restaurant was not open (fair enough) but on arrival this also meant the bar/ bar and restaurant area.
There were no provisions to have a drink in any other way. No drinking water in the room no access to drinking water or tea/coffee Facilities. Very very basic rooms. Light switch didnt work although notified of this when shown the room and explained they had put lamp. In instead - not plugged in so fun in the dark trying to plug in and get working.
Beds didnt have duvet covers on just bare duvets with a blanket underneath, toilet/showers were poor although shower was hot. Rooms were not very clean.
We stayed in a family room with our newborn baby ages and description giving on booking. Not cot was given toilets and Facilities downstairs. Had a door through to a water cylinder cupboard that was filthy and the door didn't shut properly and had to wedge shut with a lamp.
And as soon as shown room staff locked the door to reception pulled the shutters and were gone.
All in all after travelling for 8 hours across france staying at many beautiful locations with amazing staff this felt like a hostel not a hotel.
Wouldn't recommend

- YANNI (7/5): No wifi, too far from city, about 20 mins drive.Big space, good view - Windows' view, big space No wifi.
The swimming pool is 5 5-minute drive in another village. Has been told to open at 9:00, but arrived at the pool with no staff, and it was locked at 9:30.
SPA was on site, but 125+ euros to use for one person!
Personel niezbyt przyjazny.
- Charlotte (8/5): Clean and comfortable overnight stay - Lovely room. Very handy for the port. N/A
- Mark (8/5): -
- Cezary Marek (10/5): - czysty i schludny pokoj idealne miejsce na ciszę i spokój.Szkoda ze tak krotko tam byłem. Bardzo.ladny widok z okna -
- Mark (8/5): -
- Caroline (7/5): - La chambre deluxe avec sanitaires était bien équipée.
Les hôtes sympathiques.
Bonne literie.
- Jacqui (5/5): No swimming pool, this should be made clear on booking.com - Large room There was no pool at the property, it was 3 minutes drive away and they charge 6 euros each.
- Jones (7/5): - Location was amazing. Having a restaurant on site was also a bonus. Restaurant food was great quality if a little expensive. The facilities are a little tired, perfectly clean and usable but would benefit from a spruce up.
Breakfast was expensive for what it was although it was a buffet so plenty to eat, just a limited choice.
- Virginie (9/5): - Très belle chambre familiale sur 2 niveaux
- Kelly (10/5): Good location and suitable - Easy to find and really suitable for a family of 5. Slight smell of dog in the room.
- Anthony (7/5): -
- Camille (5/5): -
- James (7/5): Great stop off for the Chunnel - Lovely place with expansive views accross the channel.
- Elizabeth (3/5): Definitely not worth the stay for the money paid. Unless you like walking or excuses from the staff then avoid - The view and animals Rooms was a let down, had no toilet roll on arrival had to ask and they gave 1 toilet roll for 5 people. Advertised swimming pool but it’s a 7 minute drive from the room. Paid for breakfast for the 5 of us for 3 days. First day we went to breakfast and it was awful. Wasn’t a range of breakfast it’s either bread eggs or fruit. Few pancakes/crepes and you had to ask for a cup of tea/coffee. No toaster either so we asked for a refund staff said no as we have already paid so we asked for something in return like drinks we can buy. They said no we can use in restaurant. Went the next day to the restaurant and it was 815pm and said it’s to late for food now. Paid 153.00 for breakfast and didn’t even resolve our problem In the room there wasn’t even anywhere to hang your clothes.
- chevalier (8/5): Très bien - Le calme
- DOMINIC (10/5): I'm definately going back next time I'm in the area - Welcome Friendliness Choice of good food Very comfortable bed I can find no faults at all except if you want bathroom facilities in your room but the Ferme de Grand Air tells you that the bathroom facilities are outside the room so you know that before you arrive and accept it - and the showering space is very good with a big spray
- Katherine (7/5): -
- Helen (8/5): Great stopover - Beautiful views and great breakfast Downstairs shared shower
- Jenkins (9/5): - The location is good. lovely view. Easy check in. Food is very good 💯. the animals were an added bonus 😁
My bed was comfy ,but my daughter's was not. Showers were good. Very peaceful here 😀 .Near to the Euro tunnel. Very disappointed with the fact that we could not use the pool. There was a wedding party at the hotel and it was booked out for that. Also you have to pay even if it was available. The wellness centre is also a charge .
This is not mentioned in booking.com! Communication is poor Via booking .
Com. I asked questions and the owner of the hotel seemed disinterested 😳 when we arrived at the hotel and mentioned this, the staff at the hotel said that the pool and wellness centre is owned by someone completely different?. .I assumed that it was all in the price. This is false advertising on booking.com!!.
* salle de bain sale + moisissure et toile d’araignée
* 2 rouleaux de papiers toilettes déjà entamé dont un qui semblait être tombé dans l’eau
* l’eau qui ne s’évacue pas dans la douche
* eau tiède
* isolation phonique à revoir
* petit déjeuner vraiment pas terrible et peu copieux. Pain fade, plus de beurre..
* personnel absent pour des conseils
* literie confortable mais sale.. avec trace de sang
- Bethan (5/5): -

- Wolff (7/5): -
- Numan (3/5): Some problems I didn't like: 1: The sheets only cover the duvet on one side. 2: The door locks don't work. 3: We - Some problems I didn't like: 1: The sheets only cover the duvet on one side. 2: The door locks don't work. 3: We weren't informed before renting that breakfast was a fee. 4: We weren't informed that the pool was a fee. 5: Unfortunately, the carpets are both dirty and smelly. The good things I liked were that we woke up to a beautiful morning surrounded by nature. It was nice to pet and feed the animals. The staff was friendly and hospitable. Parking is free and spacious. - Nicola (1/5): Awful - The location was nice and the staff were helpful. Blind is broken in the room. Stayed in the same room 10 nights apart so it didn’t just happen before we arrived. 2 towels for 4 people. Noise travels from all the rooms and the creaking door to the outside meant it was impossible to settle the dog who never normally barks or growls.
We needed somewhere cheap for sleep ahead of eurotunnel crossing. We’d have got more sleep in the car. If I could have cancelled the second night I would have done. It’s a shame as it has the potential to be lovely.
- drogbasammy (8/5): -
- Dincq (9/5): - Le restaurant etait sympa Rien
- Michelle (4/5): Hmmmmm - maybe not - Situated in the lovely French countryside No Air Conditioning, no fans available to use, and the room windows had been left open so there were quite a few "biting" insects flying around the room. The shower wasn't very clean and there was mould on the ceiling and upper part of the wall. The sink wouldn't drain so it proved very hard to use
- Ian (4/5): -
