- Sylvia (10/5): Amazing. Thank you. - Perfect Location
And gorgeous helpful staff.
- John (10/5): We would love to return. - Great location and very easy to walk into town, fabulous staff who were so helpful and friendly. Interesting interior design, good sized room. Happy hour drinks and snacks! Room and bathroom a little on the chilly side.
- Peter (9/5): -
- Alexandria (6/5): - Walkable location Hotel has a weird smell in the lobby. Believe it was the dead Lillie’s?

- Peter (9/5): - Great location close to Queenstown central cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. Staff were friendly and accommodating and kept our 2 of our bags safe for 4 days before check in. Happy hour was great providing a nice space to chill out and relax. Two king singles joined together, with one base breaking did not provide the most optimal sleeping experience.
- Harvey (8/5): Good stay, really good location, clean. Recommended for anyone looking for a few nights in Queenstown close to the town - Location was great. Clean and comfy. Not much, it was good overall.
- David (10/5): Great place to stay with nice breakfast and happy hour! - We had a nice room with lots of window that was very comfortable. We loved the breakfast and free happy hour wine and snacks. Everyone there was very nice.
We found a path thru the trees to the waterfront that was very cool and a similar short path to downtown. Nothing
- Susan (9/5): - Central location . Nicely decorated rooms. Good breakfast.
- Margaret (9/5): -
- Louise Groom (10/5): - Beautiful hotel . Professional staff.Excellent facilities(sauna,laundry)
A complementary "Happy Hour" Good breakfast
Large rooms and well appointed bathrooms.Easy walk into town. My personal preference is for a firm mattress and so the Extra soft beds not to my liking.
- DIEGO (10/5): - Todo! Nada!
- Andrew (10/5): Perfect location, unique decor and all the included extras. Perfect. - Location perfect, uniquely designer rooms. The little extras, complementary snacks and drinks in the room. Happy hour with drinks and snacks included, all included a lovely way to meet other guests. Staff were wonderful too. Nothing
- Deirdre (10/5): Super! - Excellent location, friendly staff, great facilities, comfy beds, fast WiFi, free snacks, nothing to fault! Nothing
- Tristin (10/5): -
- Ben (9/5): Great location and fun place to stay - Location, afternoon drinks and breakfast are all great. Bathrooms a bit odd and the toilet seat was annoying. Otherwise great
- Simone (8/5): Very accessible, quiet, welcoming - 5 to 6 happy hour with wine, cheese, snacks offered for free is a wonderful idea and helped meet other travellers. I also liked to have access to washer/drier. The painted wall in the room is very original. The bed was very comfortable and the room is quiet. The center of town is easily accessible. The rooms are a bit too dark, it would help if the walls were painted lighter while still keeping the painted wall.
- Richard (10/5): Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. - Elegant lovely buffet, simple, easy on the gut, good variety, perfect size. We didn't dislike anything
- Chris (10/5): Great location, friendly staff with all inclusive ammenities leading to great value. - The location was terrific. Easy to access and a few minutes walk from the action on the lake front.
We were greeted by highly engaged and friendly staff who were willing to assist us in any way. We had a very vibrant and expansive room with quirky decor. Our outlook from two picture windows was wonderful. Secure parking available on site.
- Callum (10/5): - Short walk to the city centre. Comfortable room and really friendly staff
- AMY (10/5): -
- Chris (7/5): Watch out for the stairs - A quirky property with reasonable facilities. We weren’t aware that the property had stairs and for us to get anywhere inside there was stairs.
- Pieter (10/5): -

- Explorer745632 (10/5): 10 out of 10 - highly recommend - Loved our stay. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the town centre and a bus stop. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean, large bath, comfy bed & the private sauna was a bonus. Happy hour was such a treat. Couldn’t have improved our stay in any way, we had the best experience there.
- Lucy (10/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): A great little hotel in a good location with lots of perks and great staff - In a great location, loved the interior decor and colour scheme, room was big, clean, staff were very friendly, lots is free snacks and a happy hour! Bathroom could with a bit of an update but it was fully functional and wouldn’t stop us staying here again.
- Lily (10/5): So so amazing !!! - It was beautiful, staff were so lovely, very clean amazing hospitality
- Nigel (10/5): Helpful and friendly staff. Spacious room. Easy walking distance to everything we wanted to do - Located very close to main shopping area and booking and departure points Nothing
- Olivia (9/5): Unique extremely comfortable room in a great location. - Snacks and beverages provided in room made my stay. The room was extremely comfortable. Loved the bath. The decor was unique and loved all the art.
- Jamie (10/5): -
- Adam (10/5): -
- Quest59167374443 (10/5): Nice boutique hotel - Nice boutique hotel handy to central Queenstown. They kindly held some of our bags for 4 days prior to our stay, while we went on the Otago Central Rail Trail bike ride. The happy hour each day from 5-6pm, with free drinks and nibbles, is a great idea and allowed us to relax and unwind before heading into town for dinner. The team were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for somewhere to unwind, with easy access to Central Queenstown.
- F8157OFmichelleh (10/5): Great hotel ! - Great location. Lovely rooms with free snacks !
Quiet and great friendly staff
Would stay again
- PairadiceTravels (10/5): Great location and so much more! - Would highly recommend this hotel for many reasons!
The hotel itself is beautiful! It is tastefully decorated, well appointed, and we appreciated the balcony overlooking the gondola. It was rather magical watching the hang gliders soar down the mountain in the mornings. The hotel room itself was complete with complementary snacks, water, and tea. The bed was comfortable and there were also arm chairs to relax in. The large clean bathroom even had a jet tub which I'm sure was luxurious if that's your thing.
The location can not be beat! We parked the car on site and walked to the heart of Queenstown every day, which was just a few hundred meters away (down a rather steep hill mind you - bring good walking shoes).
Breakfast is included! This is such a bonus. Starting the day off with eggs, yogurt, pastries, and fruit set our day off on a positive note. This was open from 8-10am each morning which was well attended.
Happy hour! Also included was a charcuterie and wine event every night from 5-6pm. A rose, a sauv, and a pinot were decanted and made available as well as plenty of snacks. *chef's kiss* Nice to meet fellow travelers or simply visit with your companions.
I would be happy to stay here again on a return trip.
- 865georgies (10/5): Amazing - The complimentary happy hour was the perfect treat for the arvo, not to mention how welcoming and hospitable all the staff were!
Special shout out to Doug for the making our stay even better - he was incredibly helpful, kind and offers great personality to the Central Hotel.
- Sarah-Jane (7/5): Good but could be so much better - Happy hour
Breakfast
Location
Size of room
Staff friendliness House keeping was very chaotic- shower gels and teas/coffees weren’t replaced when empty
Breakfast could be 30mins earlier as it doesn’t really work when the activities all start early 8am is later than all other hotels
Shower pressure and water temperature was terrible
- Kyle (8/5): Convenient and comfortable in the heart of Queenstown. - Location was perfect for exploring Queenstown on foot.
Street parking is limited so it pays to pay the $25 p/day for on premises parking to avoid the hassle of trying to find a free space. The bathroom does require some work to make it an inviting area of the room. Pressure is low and fit-out looking a little tired.
Limited seating for breakfast and Happy Hour when the weather isn’t the best.
- Talia (9/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): Fabulous place to stay, I’ll be back 😍 - Boutique and cosy, great location, amazing breakfast and happy hour
- Bianca (10/5): - Was pleasantly surprised by our stay here. The staff were very inviting and had a great attitude. We also appreciated the breakfast, happy hour and snacks that the hotel put on each day. A small gesture that goes a long way. Thanks for having us!
- M&M (10/5): -
- Alexander (8/5): Comfortable one night stay in clean, well equipped hotel. - Clean, central, good facilities. Staff pleasant without being exceptional Expensive.
- Kirsten (10/5): Fantastic! - Incredible hotel and location
Atmosphere was calm and elevated Everything was great

- Gaylene (9/5): -

- bluefire221 (10/5): Central, boutique and well designed. - This is a great, quiet hotel in the best location. Super walkable to anything within the Queenstown city area, which made it really convenient. The hotel rooms are very well designed, the colours, artwork and overall decor. Friendly service, great breakfast and just fantastic all-round.
- Rigby (10/5): -
- Neville (9/5): - Very comfortable, excellent location. Staff friendly/ helpful.
Complementary drinks and snacks were very nice. No checkin staff after 6pm.
- N56OAjenniferg (10/5): Simply the Best - I loved every single thing about my stay at the Central Hotel in Queenstown! I loved the room. I loved having a Nespresso machine in my room and the most beautiful coffee/tea cups.
I arrived just after happy hour ended. And what do you know?? Doug had a bottle of wine in my room and greeted me, carried my bags to my room. And this type of service was consistent throughout my stay. The staff was so attentive and accommodating.
One day a staff person noticed me eating lunch outside without a drink and offered to bring me a drink. What?! yes, please!
The size of the hotel was perfect. The location perfect to the lake and city center and Queenstown gardens, a short 5 minute walk.
- Karla (2/5): - The location was good. The cleanliness of the room was not great, the carpet was dirty, we found nail clippings next to the bed, and I had to clean the toilet myself because it wasn't properly cleaned. I subsequently asked the staff if the bathroom can be cleaned again, which again wasn't done properly, it seemed like only the towels were replaced.
The bed sheets did not fit the mattress entirely, the bottom wasn't covered with the sheet.
Also, the breakfast was a mess. The selection vas quite limited, the only nice things to eat were the ham and cheese croissants, which were underbaked one day, and burnt the other. The only cheese you could have was brie, and everything served didn't have sering utensils, so you had to get your own.
The coffee was make-it-yourself from a nespresso machine, where we had to empty the filled pod basket ourselves, and the machine was barely working. It was also placed next to a sink with a pile of dirty dishes left by other guests.
If it was priced lower, it would have lowered our expectations, and the experience maight have been satisfactory. But overall, not a 5 star hotel and definitely overpriced.
- 2KaTTs (9/5): - Excellent location; easy walking distance to city center, the park and Gardens, the gondola.
The bed was really comfortable and the room was spacious and quiet. Just maybe a little dark.
- Anita Hay (10/5): -
- Aurelie (10/5): Trendy room and good location - Decor that actually had personality, and very spacious sized rooms. Staff are super friendly, there was a british guy that had our sense of humour and everyone was genuinely lovely. n/a
- rachelhO7882II (10/5): Great experience - The hotel was a perfect location and great service. The staff, Doug and Sasha particularly were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic.
- Mark (9/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): -
- annalisab393 (2/5): Damp, Smelly Room - Do not stay here - room was extremely damp and had bad smell when we arrived. Not a healthy situation for anyone to sleep or spend time in. Needs urgent attention and maintenance.
- Kelly (8/5): -
- 649dickv (10/5): Hospitality with a big H - well, big hospitality and a free happy hour in the lounge.
nice clean decorated rooms, spacey, cosy and some free drinks and sbmnacks in the fridge. very helpfull staff. texted us immediatly after we left our jackets in the room.
Big thnx Guys!
- Anthony (10/5): -
- HarpalS127 (10/5): Best stay - It’s a beautiful place, located at the heart of the city. Walking to the marine parade took me 5 mins through the QT park.
The front desk people are very friendly, kind and helpful and so are the other staff. Check-in was super smooth and quick.
The rooms are eclectically decorated and very spacious. Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a spacious too with good quality toilet products.
We loved the lounge area with complimentary tea/ coffee and soft drinks 24/7. The daily complimentary wine in the evenings was the cherry on top.
They have paid parking bays in the property, but those are limited and have to be booked early. There are free parking areas near the hotel though.
The breakfast used to be simple but sufficient and filling. The laundry facilities are a great help during a long haul. The best stay of my trip was in this hotel- The Central Hotel- Naumi chapter.
Best wishes to the team 👍🏻
- Takeru (9/5): Lovely - Fancy interior, generous staffs I wish the breakfast had been a bit more substantial
- Cate (9/5): We loved our huge colourful room and we will definitely return. - The location and the vibe were great. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Happy hour and breakfast were very welcoming. Having a car park was a great help in busy Queenstown. Nothing.
- arielsI7311BO (10/5): One of my top favorite stays! - This hotel was such an incredible space to work (and play) from while enjoying beautiful Queenstown. The staff went above and beyond, especially Doug, my fave. Everything was comfortable and wonderful, I honestly did not want to leave! Also there is a resident hedgehog in the backyard, who I think deserves a name. If I'm ever in Queenstown again, this will absolutely be where I stay :). Highly recommend!
- jlac762 (10/5): Lovely hotel close to Queenstown Wharf - Everyone was so helpful and lovely at check in. We had a large vehicle and the staff offered driving tips to maneuver in their parking lot and even to more their car to give a little more room. We left very early our last morning and a to-go Breakfast box was delivered the evening before. It was within a few minute waking distance to the Queenstown Wharf; google map 15+ minutes but maybe it 5. The room was large and spacious with a small balcony; it was a little dark, the walls are a dark green and lighting could be brighter.
- Irene (6/5): The staff were very helpful. - Clean, spacious and centrally located. I prefer to stay at brightly decorated rooms.
- Catalina (9/5): Great place to stay! - Rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and very clean. The hotel has a sauna and facilities are great. Location is central, but not in the middle of town. Easy to walk everywhere from here. Staff are very friendly. The hotel on the outside didn't look very nice. But once inside that doesn't matter
- janedQ5298WH (10/5): Excellent - Excellent stay at the Central Hotel. Great location and facilities. Complimentary drinks and snacks every evening and free of charge laundry room.
We had an Oasis room which was very comfortable and had everything that we could possibly need provided
- Lauren (1/5): - Nothing. They charged me despite my flight cancellation and wouldn’t reconsider a different day to accommodate me. Unhelpful and dismissive.
- Pornsak (9/5): -
- Patrick (10/5): - Location, comfy beds, happy hour, and nice staff
- TomMarch (10/5): Boutique Hotel with perks. - Really fun décor and staff. Free happy hour & abundant breakfast very welcome. Fantastic location.
- Jon (9/5): -
- Paul (9/5): - Rooms were lovely and quirky, ed was very comfortable. Fanastic location everything was great
- Leonardus (10/5): Great! Will come again! - Very comfortable. Lovely breakfast. Excellent bed, shower and facilities! Great location too. Highly recommend! Staff very nice as well. Nil
- Alethea (4/5): Good location, but that's about it. - Location is perfect, walking distance to the main part of town and all the restaurants. Communication around parking could have been a lot better. The listing makes it seem like there is parking available, however for the 20+ rooms there is only 4 car parks. Nothing when you book said we needed to book car spots ahead, and this was only communicated the day before we arrived as an "after-hours arrival suggestion". The alternative is to find street parking, which is very difficult in Queenstown, and often is pricey. We had to park a few blocks away, and keep going back to the car to top up the meter. Wouldn't advise staying here if you are travelling by car.
The room is very basic and dark, the bed wasn't very comfortable, and the bathroom was definitely not the quality I was expecting for the price. The small ventilation fan was covered in dust and mould, so really wasn't doing anything. The shower leaked all over the floor, and there is no space to put belongings down other than on the toilet seat or a small shelf above the sink.
- Yoav (9/5): -
- Kate (10/5): Lovely! - Beautifully decorated and the happy hour drinks and snacks is such a nice added bonus
- Piatti (8/5): -
- Z2188SIks (8/5): good and quit location as starting point to different activities - Staff very friendly, supportive
Check in and out was working well
Restroom very clean, sleeping room could habe been more cleaner
Location perfect to the Beach and Centre
Good breakfast
- granarygirl2016 (8/5): Stylish boutique B and B in quiet central location - Charming small boutique B and B. Stylish, well equipped rooms. Easy walk into
town for evening dining / sightseeing.
- Susan (9/5): -
- Andy (8/5): -
- jacklmoffett (10/5): Lovely accommodations within walking distance of the harbor - Lovely accommodations within walking distance of the harbor. Clean, comfortable, and friendly. We appreciated the complimentary snacks and beverages.
- Bradles (4/5): Huge disappointment. Not what it purported to be. Completely destroyed my trust in reviews. Built on the cheap. - Poorly built with very cheap materials. Hugely disappointing. Found the place depressing. Initial room was alongside reception where we could hear the staff through the paper thin walls eating their lunch. Moved to higher floor which was marginally better. Best to let the photos tell the story.
- irve2016 (10/5): Don’t miss the “happy hour” you never know who you will meet. - We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed everything about this hotel. The staff were super professional and friendly without being over bearing.
The hotel was in great position it was only short walk to town, although the hill was a good workout on the way home after a few beers.
The breakfast was great with more than enough variety.
I loved the “happy hour” free drinks and snacks. What a great initiative it brought all the guests together in relaxed atmosphere.
We met so people from all walks of life that we probably would never have spoken to unless the hotel offered this opportunity.
I would not hesitate in recommending a stay at the Central Hotel when visiting Queenstown.
Thank you very much.
- Helen (10/5): -
- Marion (9/5): Great room, comfortable bed and fantastic location, friendly staff - Quirky rooms, great location
- Y2769YDcharlesm (8/5): Enjoyable stay and great hotel position in the town - We enjoyed the position of the hotel to get into Queenstown.
Rooms were nice but very dark, so don't think you can read your book in the room.
No complaints and enjoyed the happy hour drinks and all the staff were very friendly
Well done Central Hotel
- BARRY (5/5): - Nice room on secand floor. No elevator so luggage was tough to move to room. Poor parking availability, even for a fee.
- Ruby (9/5): -
- Roberta (10/5): - Breakfast and happy hour were great. Staff very accommodating.
