Guest Reviews
- Michelle (7/5): -
- Clint (10/5): Relaxing - Breakfast was magnificent beautful gardens and nature all around
- Ralf (10/5): BEST RECOMMENDATION - -NICE COLOURFUL AND PEACEFUL LOCATION
-AMAZING FRENCH BREAKFAST
- VERY COZY FURNISHINGS
-IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RAINFOREST WITH MANY BIRDS NOTHING
- Tania (10/5): A breath of fresh air - The lovely host and attention to detail. Breakfast was amazing and watching the birds being fed. My kids loved it.
The beds were comfortable.
Pets allowed was a huge bonus.
If you ever need to get away from the hustle bustle of the city I would recommend Riviera Bed and Breakfast.
- Kyia (10/5): For the personal feeling of staying with you own (french) grandparents - Fantastic venue, local bird were exactly as advertised. Pool was devine. Just like saying with your own grandparents who want you well fed and happy. Not disability friendly but chatted with the owners they have plans to fix this! Yay
- phillip (9/5): Excellent - Quiet and relaxing Having to leave
- Vicki G (10/5): Best of country living along the Gold Coast - Loved our stay at Riviera, it was a tranquil country setting far enough away from the busy Gold Coast to truly unwind yet close to take a trip into many of the facilities available. The breakfasts were fantastic and great conversations with the lovely hosts, we felt very comfortable and look forward to returning when we can .
- Chrissy (9/5): Thanks for beautiful breakfast - Environments surrounding beautiful Queenslander architectural home Our limited time to enjoy our stay
- Shane (9/5): Wonderful stay. - The location was magnificent. Wonderful nature so close to the coast. The bed was also great - not too soft or hard.
- Daniel (10/5): A peaceful getaway in a serene environment, complimented by amazing cooking and personable hosts. - The breakfast, hosts, and the countryside locations were the biggest highlights. We had french crepes, quail eggs, and a variety of homemade jams included for breakfast, served by lovely chefs. We enjoyed witnessing kookaburras being hand-fed amidst a beautiful country environment. We couldn't get the small TV working in the bedroom. The room also got a bit musty at times, since it is situated on a very old property. I would say both are very minor gripes and would barely impact the quality of your stay.
- Roger (8/5): We were impressed by the setting in a 150 year old Queensland house surrounded by tropical forest. - Location was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was exceptional. Hosts were very accommodating. Nothing
- Leanne (10/5): Loved every minute - I loved every minute of our stay at Riviera Bed And Breakfast. My husband and I stayed there for the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were aiming for a relaxing weekend, and it sure was. What a beautiful and peaceful place to unwind.
On our first night, Robert cooked us a romantic anniversary dinner, complete with candlelight and French music. The food was so delicious, with very generous portions. Such a special night for us.
Breakfast time was also wonderful. Watching Robert calling down the wild birds was pretty cool, and the breakfasts he cooked for us were amazing!
Robert and Caroline were wonderful hosts, and we are looking forward to staying at their beautiful home again. Going home.
- Lindsay (8/5): - Fantastic breakfast along with great conversation and the birds coming in to feed was a nice bonus as well
- Eva (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful - Peace and serenity. Lovely home.
- Abby (10/5): -
- Corey (10/5): -
- Ricahrd (10/5): -
- Ben (10/5): - I liked that they allowed dogs. I also thought the hosts were very friendly, and we had amazing breakfasts from our French chef Robert.
I must say the quietness was great. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was amazing in the morning when we had breakfast. All the birds and even an owl had their breakfast along the railing.I would stay there again without hesitation. The price was great also we stayed for 3 nights.
- Chivers (10/5): -
- Christian (9/5): Really enjoyed our time there. Would do it again in the future - It was a very nice stay. Friendly staff with unique breakfast with variety of home made jams (which were for sale to take) while enjoying the surrounding nature. Nice French style facility and enjoyed our stay there. Would definitely book there again. Did not have a chance to experience the swimming pool, but it looked great. Hardly anything negative to report
- Christine (10/5): - Beautiful setting, the kids loved seeing the Chickens and
Quail and were impressed all their questions were answered. Breakfast was fantastic, and beds were very comfortable. We had to come home
- Vanessa (8/5): Very good -
- Sandra (8/5): - Caroline was a great hostess, went to great lengths to make sure we got there safely late at night
- Anna (10/5): Amazing - Beautiful, peaceful location and very friendly .
Caroline and Robert made us feel very welcome . Robert cooked our breakfast, and it was so nice. There was nothing I didn't like.
- Darren (8/5): Very good - Very welcoming lovely staff
Breakfast with the birds was beautiful
- Vanessa (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Wonderful property in a bush setting close to town. - Location was close enough to town and highway but also in the bush. Its a lovely house in a rural setting and our hosts were lovely. The pool was beautiful for a morning swim. Breakfast each morning was sensational. Better wifi would have been nice and I told Caroline this to which she replied that Starlink was being installed that week so future guests will be happy with the internet.
- Dorothea (10/5): Beautiful countryside stay - We loved the country setting and beautiful surroundings. The hosts were lovely and the wildlife a treat. Our private bathroom was beautiful, but the shower over the bath needs to be worked out to function better.
- Sheppard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (10/5): A lovely place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle but with plenty of wild life! - The breakfast was great. The most crepes I have ever eaten in my life, with home made assortment of jams!!!
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Guerrero (10/5): Magic place - A wonderful place, full of magic, it is perfect to rest and reconnect with nature. Breakfasts are a beautiful experience with the birds and nature. Thank you for allowing us to live a different weekend š
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frankie (8/5): The hosts made me feel right at home!! - The location was beautiful and quiet. The hosts were super attentive and friendly. Watching the birds whilst having breakfast was lovely. The breakfast included on stay was utterly delicious.
- Jyotsana (8/5): Very good -
- Kerry (9/5): Very happy, Thankyou Caroline and Robert. - We enjoyed our stay very much. Love the location. So peaceful and quiet. Loved the pool.
- Anne-sophie (10/5): Lovely getaway with lovely people - Very friendly hosts, with amazing breakfast amongst the birds. Great location, lovely old Queenslander. Such a nice opportunity to chat to other guests at communal breakfasts. Would happily come again, thank you!
- Emma (9/5): Superb - Lovely property - absolutely loved having breakfast with all the stunning birds. Room was very comfortable and Caroline and Robert were lovely hosts.
- Deborah (10/5): Amazing experience - The hosts and breakfast
- Lil (10/5): Exceptional - Amazingly quiet and peaceful location still only several mins drive into town but feels a million miles away! The breakfast was delightful and we highly recommend the three course dinner from the live in French chef! Five star rating for a unique piece of Australia and a very private secluded room with lovely decor and beautiful staff. Thank you so much we will def be back!
- Manesh (3/5): Does not deserve the score of 9 in booking.com - location old with dilapidated features and fixtures
paid cash
credit card number taken (
- Robert (9/5): The owners Caroline & Robert are very hospitable and know how to run an exceptional B&B. - The breakfast on each day was varied and perfectly cooked. Lovely setting on the deck. Not applicable.
- Syed (1/5): Pathetic - Nothing Everything
- Zoe (10/5): We had an amazing time, facilities were homely :) defenitely visiting again! - It was great to hang out with the other visitors staying there. The tv didnāt work properly
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Biljana (9/5): Original experience, nice stay - The place is in quiet area in the middle of the nature, you can hear birds song all day long, The house is quite big, old and well maintained by its owners Caroline and Robert. They are good people, breathing example for some of the values are lost nowadays. The house, rooms and bathrooms were extraordinary clean, having everything that you might need. Caroline was always available for questions and has well thought every single detail in the house which was quite impressive.
Robert made us breakfast and was flexible to move the time of the breakfast for earlier considering we had to live early. His omelette is original, must try,
Consider there are shared areas and you have to interact with rest of the quests in the house in case you want to use them. You can hear noise rest of the house, which was not a problem for us.
- Christopher (10/5): Very special - Full of character and warmth. Beautiful tropical bush location, very special! Nothing, everything was just right
- Daniel (9/5): Warm hospitality, delicious breakfasts, within an enchanting rainforest setting - The people who run, Caroline and Robert, are SO lovely. We felt very well looked after and their commutation before and during our stay was great.
The French breakfasts, prepared by Robert, were delicious. Next time we'd love to take up the option to have dinner there too!
The natural rainforest surroundings are very special with lots of native wildlife meandering through the property and birds visiting the deck around breakfast time.
- Skewes (7/5): Good -
- Tim (9/5): Caroline and her husband were so warm and welcoming. - Our stay felt homely and warm. Roberto cooked us a three course traditional french dinner, it was so special. For breakfast we loved the hundreds of lorikeets that joined us on the deck. We would definitely recommend and come back to stay with Caroline.
- Julie (9/5): Relax and enjoy - Property was in a beautiful setting. Breakfast served each day with bird feeding. Food was excellent. Nothing
- ē©č± (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (9/5): The Riviera B&B is a hidden gem in the Gold Coast hinterland. - Privacy, comfort and breakfast
- Mike (7/5): Good -
- Khai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (6/5): - The WOTIF booking confirmation stated "The front desk is open daily from 10:00 AM - 10 PM" so I was shocked to be berated for being late on my arrival. While I had stated I would be there at 3pm, there were a number of delays during my trip. I did not appreciate the way I was spoken to on arrival (maybe organise self check-in like every other self-managed property in the world). As well I was probably able to find the bathroom and see there was a bath. A compendium would be more appropriate to assist guests.
The property calls itself a "Bed and Breakfast which according to definition includes breakfast. It was one of the reasons I chose that property however the breakfast was only included for an extra payment. I consider that this is a "bait-and-switch" strategy and very misleading. I left without breakfast!!!
The internet is not useable and I was unable to manage my emails/do anything on the net while at the property. There is no TV in the room. The room I stayed in was too small for 2 people. The door to the bathroom does not close so not much privacy if you are sharing with another person.
I was told there is something wrong with the shower and I decided to take a bath. The blind to the bedroom closes but is almost impossible to open.
During my stay I found the noise from other people who were staying to be quite loud esp in the room above me. Caroline did respond quickly and then the house was very pleasant.
Overall it was expensive and poor value at $189.80.
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): A serene little gem of accomodation tucked away in the trees with a lovely French flair. - This place is wonderful. Itās up in the trees in a beautiful setting. It feels like one of the most relaxing places to be. Itās away from the high rises and cement in the Gold Coast and surrounded by tropical bush. The pool was great and the deck where the fanastic French breakfast was served is beautiful. Nothing.
- Myriameva (9/5): A place to enjoy the Gold Coast away from the crowd - I like the peaceful setting of this property, the feeling of being in a tropical forest, yet so close to the sea and shopping.
I had a wonderful time, enjoyed the pool, the breakfast, the company.
- Lucas (10/5): Wonderful inn - The stay in the house was wonderful! The environment full of nature and very close to the beach! The tranquility that is breathed in the inn is incredible Dawn with the sound of birds is priceless! Furthermore, the company of Caroline and Robert With their talks they make one want to stay and live there!. The pool is beautiful to spend the heat! And the breakfast is very delicious! The detail of the welcome chocolates was incredible! They are attentive to everything! We will definitely return! Nothing
- Mclurg (10/5): This bed and breakfast is a slice of paradise within the beautiful forrest of the Gold Coast. - The property was beautiful. Getting to see the birds and the rainforest views, while being served a delicious homemade breakfast, was truly magical. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and a joy to be around. Would definitely recommend as it was the perfect way to get away from the city and enjoy the tranquility of the rainforest. A bit far, but nothing unmanageable.
- Leah (7/5): Was good. Could have been better - Beautiful area and very peaceful
- Ariana (10/5): A delightful taste of Europe, hidden in Gold Coast hinterland. - Honestly, I liked everything - I was blown away. From beautiful French crepes in the morning while watching rainbow lorikeets feed and gazing at rainforest views, to beautiful three course Mediterranean candlelight dinners, it was extremely romantic. The hosts Caroline and Robert treated us with so much warmth and hospitality, so much that we felt we had met friends and mentors in our lifeās journey. It rained the duration of our stay, but that simply added to the tranquil energy, and watching rain over the tropical foliage while tucked in a cosy, delicately decorated room was the getaway we needed. We will be back!
- Anonymous (10/5): Fabulous stay - Riviera Bed and Breakfast is a quiet, clean, spacious and calming place. The whole place are beautiful French antique beds, furniture, dishes. Caroline and Robert were fantastic, very easy to talk to and friendly, open minded. They made my solo holiday delightful. I would definitely come again! Nothing dislike.
- Myriameva (9/5): A beautiful oasis and exceptional hosts -
- Glenys (10/5): Magnificent, peaceful - Such a beautiful property, clean and welcoming. The owners as such gorgeous people so inviting and make you feel so cared for and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the special homemade jams are delicious.
- Baker (10/5): Relaxing, Kind and Caring - The stay was purchased as a gift for a friend to have a place to stay after an exhausting house move. Caroline and Robert made it an exceptionally relaxing place to stay, they were accommodating with the arrival time and the breakfast conversation, in French, was very enjoyable as was the breakfast. Thank you for taking care of Jonathan when I could not be there to help him.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (10/5): Our stay was peaceful and lovely. Thank you - The breakfast and food was really great. It was delicious and fresh and lots of home made jams. Love the fact that they allow dogs in the facility. Love the beautiful birds that come to feed.
We liked having a heater in the room as it got colder overnight.
Caroline and husband where very kind and friendly. The private bathroom was separate from the room. The beds were old. The slats of one was falling, the head board/base of the other was moving. The light cover was cracked and chipped.
- Jessica (9/5): A very friendly French couple, the room is full of French style, I like it! - Very nice, fresh air, very quiet!
- Juanita (9/5): Superb - Caroline was very attentive and made our very short stay enjoyable and exceptionally comfortable. A lovely, homely stay, thank you.

- Roberto (10/5): - Caroline was so welcoming and helpfull, she made the stay very special
- Siobhan (10/5): Best kept secret! - Caroline & Robert were the most friendly, caring & genuine hosts you could ask for. Their gorgeous Queenslander is full of character & cute quirks. Robert cooked us the most delicious french meal on Sat evening, and crepes Sunday morning. Caroline spoilt us with fresh eggs on Monday morning with our continental breakfast. Their knowledge of the area confirmed our hiking plans to Springbrook NP via Hinze Dam. We enjoyed lots of peace & tranquillity in the best kept secret of the Gold Coast. We got our coast fix with a early morning trip to Burleigh Heads NP to take in the gorgeous ocean & sun. No complaints from us!
