- janelleprado (8/5): I was worried about the hotel based on some reviews, but im glad we stayed here. - We had a really good stay here, I was really nervous because of the reviews I had read and almost backed out, but I am so glad I didn’t. We arrived early because we had to check out of our other hotel at 11 and the bell man took our suitcases and stored them for us and pointed us in the right direction to grab brunch on magazine Street. The lady working the front desk was so sweet. I had asked, if possible to be in a quieter room, she was more than happy to help us with that. She had mentioned the Wi-Fi might be spotty which I appreciated, but I still chose quiet over Wi-Fi reception since there was a two hour time difference between SF and New Orleans Orleans, we also had no issue with the Wi-Fi. The rooms were large and spacious in the shower was extremely hot and the water pressure was good. The pillows were a tiny bit soft, since I like firm pillows, but it didn’t ruin our sleep. This was within walking distance to so many beautiful homes, and there was a liquor store where we could buy water and sodas and alcohol and food right across the street. It got a little sketchy with the homeless late at night but we never felt unsafe. We would definitely come back again. The lobby and bar area were so unique and pretty, it was a vibe, we will have to get a drink down there next time.
- David (6/5): Nice hotel at reasonable price but customer service could be better for reservation changes. - Room was spacious and clean. Location in the Garden District was great. I tried to adjust the date of arrival on the reservation, but the hotel told me contact Booking.com and Booking.com told me to contact the hotel. I did each multiple times and got the run-around. A waste of time and was never able to adjust the reservation. The hotel never responded when contacted via the Booking.com site, and was not very helpful when reached by phone. I doubt I'd stay at the hotel again or use Booking.com unless one of them remedies the problem.

- amandacX3992YV (2/5): Frustrating experience - The stay at Hotel Tonnelle in New Orleans was very disappointing and frustrating. The room and the hotel property were nice, but that doesn't make up for the terrible service. When we arrived in the evening we asked valet and the front desk if valet was 24/7. We were told yes. We told valet that we will be leaving early in the morning for the airport and we needed our car at 2:00 am. The gentleman at the valet said that was no problem. He said he would pass along the information to the night valet. We booked a room for 4 people but everything was set up in the room for only 2 guest. We had to wait a while for someone to bring enough towels for all of us and bedding to make up the couch bed. We sent the message on our phone to valet at 2:00 am for our car. Valet never replied so we left the room with our luggage and went downstairs. The lady working at night was very nice. We told her we sent something to valet for our car but never heard anything. She radioed for valet multiple times and no response. She called a manager for valet, he showed up and was unable to get into the lock where the keys were kept. He tired for over 45 min to try and get into the lock with the keys. We did appreciate that. The lady working the front desk had the night security guard make 2 rounds on the property looking for the valet attendant. It was almost 3:00 am at this point. We had just called for an Uber to pick up our daughter at the hotel so she wouldn't miss her flight back to school. After one hour of waiting for valet to show up, he finally did. We didn't get up at 1:00am only to leave the hotel at 3:00 am because the night valet decided to walk away and not answer his walkie. No apology was ever given from the night valet. We almost missed our flights due to him disappearing. I do appreciate the efforts from the lady at the front desk, the valet manager and the security guard. I emailed the manager of the property explaining our frustrations. She replied back to my first email. I emailed her back again and nothing. She completely ignored my second email. I will never book with this hotel again. If you're thinking of using valet at this hotel, think again if you need your car early in the morning.

- Culture68473538612 (8/5): Good but not great stay - Pros: - very friendly staff - decent breakfast menu (not included in rate) - located right next to a Hop on Hop Off bus tour stop and streetcar stop - walkable to restaurants and attractions - 20min drive from the airport - quiet area - fully updated and well decorated - we had a king standard room and it was big. Plenty of space. Cons: - WiFi was terrible - hotel bed sheets did not properly fit the bed. The fitted sheet kept popping off. - the tv would randomly stop responding to the remote - the shower had poor water pressure and the shower door wasn’t properly installed and scraped the floor everytime you opened and closed it - bed and pillows were just ok
- Easy (2/5): Enttäuschender Aufenthalt mit klaren Qualitätsmängeln. - Nichts. Einfach nur Schmuddelig alles. Das gesamte Hotel wirkt alt, abgenutzt und in vielen Bereichen ungepflegt. Besonders negativ: unser Zimmer mit Verbindungstür. Öffnet man beide Türen, sieht man sofort, dass dieser Bereich seit langer Zeit nicht gereinigt wurde – Staub, Schmutz und ein insgesamt unhygienischer Eindruck. Der Laminatboden war zusätzlich klebrig – ein eindeutiges Zeichen dafür, dass hier nicht sorgfältig gewischt wurde. In dieser Hotelkategorie ist das ein absolutes No-Go. Auch sonst zieht sich der mangelnde Pflegezustand durch das gesamte Zimmer. Das wirkt nicht wie ein Einzelfall, sondern strukturell vernachlässigt. Zusätzlich fragwürdig: die Parkplatzgebühren. Angegeben waren 45 $, berechnet wurden am Ende 48 $ pro Nacht. Kein großer Betrag – aber genau solche Abweichungen unterstreichen den insgesamt unsauberen Eindruck. Fazit: Abgewohnt, schlecht gereinigt und nicht auf dem Niveau, das man erwarten darf. Ich werde definitiv nicht wiederkommen.

- Dharmabum87 (6/5): Everything a little off - From the time I got to this hotel, everything was a little off. I arrived around 6pm and the feel of the checking was like a Hampton Inn. The agent was nice but not the typical professionalism of a big chain. The most odd thing was she handed me a brown paper bag with two generic water bottles in it and said it was a thank you for my Marriott Bonvoy allegiance. Literally fifty cents of water. The room was spacious but again just a bit off. The toilet was set crooked (meaning not at a right angle to the wall). The sink faucet had handles installed backwards. The shower door’s water strip was coming off so door didn’t shut properly. The lighting in the room is poor at full strength but there was a bulb out in one of the three lamps. Also the deadbolt was broken which the person who brought me a new bulb confirmed. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and it’s pretty quiet. And location is good.

We loved the location as the Garden District is absolutely beautiful!! The breakfast was very little and tasted okay, not more.

- Jim (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel - Very pretty lobby, bar, living room Rooms are beautifully decorated $50 parking fee was not discussed with n the booking or on the hotel website. This seemed shady to me that they deliberately did not disclose this substantial charge. Website actually said parking on-site, but there was none offeref to us. Its all valet fee bsded.
- CarmelS887 (2/5): This place is a DUMP! - From check-in to checkout, this hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in. At check in, we were sent to room 417. When we arrived in the room, it had not even been made up, ie no sheets on the bed etc. and it had not been cleaned. We were then moved to a different room. It looked like a brothel. There were pictures missing from the wall as well as a missing light fixture. The room was also very dark as were the hallways. There is no room service, which any nice hotel should have. There was a coffee pot in the room but it could not be plugged in without being moved. My thought was who configured the placement of a coffee pot whose plug couldn’t even reach the outlet? The room also did not have a refrigerator or microwave. Also, the toilet was finicky about flushing. The morning of checkout, we met family at the restaurant for breakfast. The server did not speak English and got everyone’s order wrong. She also brought a check that was for someone else’s breakfast. My advice: DON’T STAY HERE!!!

The standout was Candy - she was so cheerful and welcoming and made my trip end on a positive note. Loved the location, was within walking distance to great restaurants.

- elainevill2018 (10/5): Fantastic stay - I had a great stay at the Tonnelle. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the room felt very comfortable. The staff is wonderful and the hotel is very pet friendly. I traveled with my two small dogs. The St. Charles street cart stops right in front of the hotel and Magazine Street is just a few blocks away. The area is very walkable. I highly recommend this hotel.

- Rod (5/5): Nice location, poor service - Location and room layout Noisy, hallway near rooms. Showers moldy caulk, terrible valet system, for 48 bucks. Had to get own car once and non response per text to get car.
- Norberto (9/5): Strong Scents, Great stay - I loved almost everything about the hotel. The only think I didn't like was the overwhelming scent in the lobby. It gave me a headache simply walking through to get to the elevator. A nice scent is one thing, but that smell was way too strong.

- Lauren (4/5): - The property has a lovely lobby and nice decor but a lot of things in the room itself didn't work. The first room had no mirror and was close to the elevator which kept us up most of the night with its beeping. We moved to a better room with a mirror but the toilet overflowed/didn't flush propery, the coffee maker had nowhere to be plugged in, the mirror spun around and didn't stay still.

- Kathy (8/5): - Make sure on your day of departure you order your car from valet at least 30 minutes ahead of time. Ours was on the phone keeping us waiting an additional 15 minutes. We ordered our car 5 minutes before leaving our room. We went downstairs and the valet driver was on the phone. I went inside to complain, and he made his way to get the car. 20 mins and nobody else requesting a car.
- Juanita (10/5): - This hotel is a hidden gem. I thoroughly enjoyed my 1 night stay. The room was clean and smelled amazing. The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The price was VERY affordable!!! Every time I come back to New Orleans, this will be my hotel of choice.

The area is safe. The hotel staff was excellent and the valet staff were also very helpful. The breakfast at their bar was really good and the lobby was really cute.

Though to be honest, all of the staff I encountered during my stay was Amazing. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. This is my first stay, will definitely return. This is now top on my list for an upcoming group event. 👏
- 479victorp (4/5): Poorly managed hotel in an excellent location. - Excellent location near the Garden District. Hotel was tired, dirty, had paper-thin walls, and shabby in a 1980s Vegas sort of way. Safe didn't work, sink was clogged, floor lamp didn't work, had a fridge brought in- was very loud and set up in the room obtrusively. A homeless man (no shirt/trousers half off) slept from early evening until mid day in front of the hotel. Immediate area smelled of urine, wino's, homeless, etc. Staffy were friendly but extremely loud and ineffectual, e.g., why mop the lobby floors each morning at check-out time? All in all, a badly managed property.
