• darrenk750 (10/5): excellent hotel and resort - Excellent views, up a short hill but worth it, our studio was spacious, clean with a good area outside to sit and admire the view, pool area small and compact but not too busy in early October when we visited, maid service good and bar staff/owners very friendly.5 mins downhill to the start of the restaurants and 10 mins to beach, good bus service to the caldera from kalmari, 20-25 mins

• skelly2 (10/5): Perfect family hotel for the price - Stubby views from hotel and balcony, delicious food at the on-site pool bar. 10 mins walk into town (yes a hill so not good if you have mobility issues), apartments very clean, could do with some modernising and maintenance. Staff very friendly . Kamari is wonderful and full of restaurants , good beach & would definitely visit again. Our apartment had fridge & hob and microwave. The beds in the living room area were fine but not great & air con only in the living area not the bedroom, the bathroom has been renovated and is lovely. Pool is great and Pawnee encourage children and family’s to be here . Unlike some guests whilst we were staying! There is also a small baby pool , sun loungers and lovely with think mattresses so are very comfortable. Cocktail and alcohol / spirit prices are on the higher side. Food prices are reasonable though.dimitri is great very friendly and loves the kids. Wi-Fi not the best is only working ok by the pool, rooms are hit and miss.
• NorthEast21 (8/5): Lovely hotel with amazing views - Stayed here recently in a studio for sole use. The hotel is set in a quiet hillside location with amazing views. My room was clean and spacious with fresh towels provided daily. The bathroom had a shower over the bath which was a bit dated but useable. The owners and staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, the made-to-order omlettes were delicious. Food was available at the pool bar, which was also very good and reasonably priced. The pool area and sun terrace were lovely places to relax and enjoy the sunshine and views. The bus stop was a good 15 mins walk, where you could catch the bus to Fira for 2€, this takes about 20 mins. My only slightly negative comment is that the location of the hotel wasn't ideal for me as a solo female traveller, as it's set on a lonely road/track. The walk to and from the resort/beach doesn't take long but some would struggle with the incline.

The owner also give us a lift to the bus stop, breakfast is plenty and full.The hotel has a grand view of the Kamari beach.The swimming pool is very clean, so my family enjoying our swimming. I will really give it a five star. Well recommended.

Be prepared for the hill walk to the hotel this definitely burnt off our dinner each evening. • Wilsonfamilyessex (10/5): Can't beat it - superb customer service/food/views - Our 6th or 7th visit - Tasos and his family provide everything possible you could wish for on your holiday. It is a true family oriented venue with Mum, Dad, sons, daughter in law and grandchildren and Grandma xx providing everything you need for a fab holiday. Dimitri's on the bar is great as well - a character! Breakfast is great, just ask for what you want and you'll get it! The facilities are good, probably do need and update but what you have is perfectly clean and useable and if you have a problem they are fixed immediately without question. The location is great, with perfect views across the Aegean. It does get windy at the hotel close to the mountain but this is great as it cools everything down - very welcome. The family taxi company Feggera is great for pick ups and drops offs to airport and for any excursions. Also try the Feggera bakery on the outskirts of Kamari - great coffee!!

Four lady friends had a lovely time .the owners and staff were exceptionally kind nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel so welcome we had some meals at the pool bar very good and not expensive..we were given lifts down to the village of kamari and picked ip at our choice of time with no charge it was good for us as we are elderly and the hotel was up a hill ..the views were beautiful …thoughly recommend.
• D5066NAjasonh (10/5): Amazing Gem of a Hotel, run by beautifully kind people, with stunning views - One of the best holidays I have ever had, from the second we arrived we were made to feel welcome and part of the family, Dimitris cannot do enough to help you, quite simply the best bartender in Santorini. The place is spotless, rooms are big and cleaned everyday, if you get chance make sure you try the home cooked food here, Tasos cooks an amazing stuffed pepper/tomato. Its's a short walk down to the beach, the walk back up can be a bit tough but easily managable, Dana's is a great place to eat just at the top of the hill, the place as such a relaxed vibe, never any issues getting a sunbed, the beer is ice cold and refreshing, and it as stunning views out to sea. (make sure you get up early at least once and experience the sunrise, its breathtaking views from the hotel are amazing) The hotel can also arrange for transport around the island if needed, I was lucky enough to propose to my girlfriend and Dimitris booked the restaurant in Oia and the transfer to and from, making my job easier (there's nothing they wouldnt do for you) We will certaintly be back

The food here is lovely and great value. It has a very chilled vibe and the most amazing views due to being at the top of a hill. We hopefully will be back next year.

• debrabK2899MP (10/5): Hotel stay for our sons weddings - From the moment we arrived to the day we left the staff and manager were amazing. Stayed for 7 nights for our sons wedding. Arriving late and wanted to meet up with our son George very kindly gave us a lift to meeting place, pointing out restaurants and bars. Room was open plan and huge for myself, husband and son. Cleaned every day with fresh towels. Pool amazing and no rush to get a sun bed. Food was gorgeous and average priced. Nothing a bother. Our air con wasn't the best but was given a fan at no extra cost which did the job. Views amazing. First time in Santorini and will definitely return to this hotel. Just as others have mentioned it is on a hill so not good if you have mobility issues. A big Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay as memorable as our sons wedding.
• G9434MOdebbiem (10/5): Fabulous and friendly - Just returned from a week at this lovely hotel. It was so chilled and relaxed, nothing was any trouble. Staff were friendly. Rooms were cleaned every day. They were very spacious and shower was powerful. Had an amazing view over the Aegean and got up to watch the sunrise every morning, which was spectacular. We had not been to Greece before but this is what I imagined an authentic Greek hotel to be. Pool was lovely and there was no fighting over sun beds. Food was very good and reasonably priced, cheaper than many of the restaurants in town. Eddie at the bar was great, and so was George. All staff were in fact. We loved Kamari, it's very friendly and relaxed. Lots of lovely bars and restaurants. We loved Soul Splash and Mango on the front. Open air cinema was a great experience. Buses to Fira/Oia are frequent. The sunset is best seen from a boat as the streets of Oia are so busy. Great holiday, would definitely go back.

• R2252MMjw (8/5): Beautiful views. - Arrived at the hotel and was dropped right at the bottom of the hill. We had 7 large cases and 3 children in midday heat and was not ideal. Not the hotels fault but something to be aware of when booking transfers. Staff where all really welcoming and took bags to the room. Rooms a little dated but very clean and towels and bedding changed daily. Shampoo body wash etc left in rooms daily. View was stunning. About 10 minute walk to the main strip of bars and restaurants again a really steep hill going upwards back to hotel so would not recommend for people with mobility issues or prams etc. Pool was always quiet and aways loungers available. Drinks and food was okay. Breakfast wasn’t included in the price but we ate one day and it was okay, nothing wonderful, we opted to go into town for a breakfast which was cheaper. Staff where very helpful and accommodating and cannot fault them. Another member of our party had to change rooms at one point as the shower head fell from the ceiling onto my daughters head which was really dangerous but staff happily moved them to another room with no fuss. Rooms definitely need an update and I’d then say it would be more of a 4/5* hotel. Has alot of potential to be beautiful and very up market.
• RobH2323 (10/5): Awesome family hotel - This is the second time we have stayed here (first in 2012 without kids), just like the first time, from the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble, the rooms are fantastic and have been upgraded since we were last there. Everyone at the hotel truly wants you to have a fantastic holiday. We will be returning.
• X7259DHalexandram (10/5): Fantastic getaway! - What a gem! Stayed at the Aegean View with friends for 5 nights in August. Arrived in the early hours, escorted to our room and offered water. Amazing views from the hotel, great location (not great if you have mobility issues as situated up a slight hill) with easy access to the beach, tavernas, shops and bars. The hotel staff were fantastic - nothing was too much trouble. They were incredibly welcoming, helpful and put the hotel guests first. The buffet breakfast was perfect and the bar menu was great for snacks. Would definitely recommend and definitely return. Only downside (which is not the hotel's fault) is that the sun disappears behind the mountain around 5pm.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff breakfast by the pool excellent. Always enough sun beds no getting up early to save them just always available what more can I say 100% in every way.

• VED47 (10/5): Fabulous hotel - We had a fabulous time at this hotel, the staff, including Eddie and the bar chef (so sorry we didn’t ask his name) are amazing as is the food. The family who run this hotel are very accommodating, our son had his birthday during our first week and the hotel staff gave him a card and present, which he was delighted with. I agree with other reviews about this hotel not being the best for those with mobility issues due to the number of steps, but we couldn’t fault our stay, the apartment we had was very clean with bins/towels changed daily. The views are lovely and the mountain trek up to the chapel behind the hotel is well worth an early morning trip for those who can handle a steep, rocky path.

The pool was a hit with the kids. The ‘buffet’ breakfast was served to us each day by friendly staff due to social distancing. Few minutes walk to the restaurants and beach...and couple minutes to drive up a terrifying road the Ancient Thera.

The room, although it looked really nice, had horrible beds and the bathroom was a challenge (poor plumbing and a shower that makes the entire room wet). I want to emphasize that I truly cannot say enough about the WONDERFUL staff and the view. I would stay here again just for them!

I myself felt welcome like family and I can see their point From vangelis to zoey to Lois to the owner his wife( I couldn’t get their names only because I don’t speak Greek) everyone was “nice” Location is perfect. Perched on a height to have a good view of sea yet the the right amount of distance (5 minutes walk) to the noisy promenade We had a great time. I really wish them good luck.

The staff booked a car for us, booked our taxis and recommended restaurants and places of interest. They could not do enough for us. Rooms could do with an update but they were very clean and we had clean towels every day. Bring your own beach towels as none were provided. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach bars and restaurants and 15 minutes to the airport.

The family who run the hotel are very kind and there to help with anything you would need. I would recommend using the bus to get around, it is 1.80 euro and only 15 minutes to Fira. I would highly recommend this hotel.
• Thomas (10/5): A family gem - The family that run this hotel are amazing and friendly hosts nothing is too much trouble. The views are amazing and the beautiful tiny chapel adjacent is amazing and is beautiful inside. The beds are a little hard and that is the only improvement I could recommend. The hill is a bit of a climb but the views make up for it and we got a taxi some nights from kamari town for 8-10 euros. Vangellis and George both are very helpful and knowledgeable. The pizzas are lovely from the pool bar and everywhere is well cared for and spotless. A pleasure to stay here and would come again.

• David (10/5): A Very Nice Hotel - This is a good hotel and excellent value. It is in a quiet location about 15 minutes by car from the ferry port and Thira. It is close to the airport but not noisey. It is tucked against the cliffs and most room balconies have an ocean view. The rooms are spacious. Our room had simple kitchenette. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.

We all had a fabulous time, great food, always freshly done and good value, big portions too!! The room we had was very spacious for five of us and with a loft. Vangellis was very helpful and advised us what tours to go and very knowledgable about the island. The local bus stop , restaurants and shops just a few walks away. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and meet new friends. Thank you to all the family at Aegean view hotel for making our holiday so special from the moment we arrived and leave. Can rent a car at the hotel. Hotel room was a 3-bedroom apt with the pool immediately outside the door. Cappuccinos were perfect. Ancient Thera ruins on the mountain top above the hotel.

Loved to get up early and watch the sunrise. Swimming pool was clean and cozy. Local food made in the restaurant was amazing too. But the best were the people who treated us like family. It is a family run hotel and everyone had our comfort at the top of their list. With the hospitality we got, we really enjoyed our stay. The only concern I had was I did not get good wifi inside the room. It may just be the construction that did not let the signals pierce through the walls too well. We sat outside our room on the patio and we were fine with the signal.

Everthing looks very old, Mattress was very hard, and shower did not drain well. Wi-Fi did not work very well in the room. I feel like review in Trip advisor was too much over rated. This hotel is not 4 Star hotel, but 5 plus for staff friendliness !

Staff super nice and helpful. Breakfast is nice and adequate. Our room had a private jacuzzi. There are a lot of shops and restaurants within a walking distance. Overall a good hotel for a reasonable price very close to Kamari beach.

Just a 5 min walk to the beach but a spectacular view from our balcony. We also loved the bar and pool area. Our family went up there every night for drinks after a long day. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was amazing.

Close to the beach, away from the main crowd in Fira and Oia. If you have a rental car or planning on flying out, this would be a better area and place to stay. • Demetrios K (10/5): A must stay! Unbelievable Family and GREAT Service - I absolutely loved our stay! The hotel, family-owned, was more than accommodating to all our requests. I can't speak highly enough of them, from handling our VERY late-1:00 am check-in (Maria, daughter), to assisting us to our room (Tasso, the dad & his son), to the great staff. The rooms and villas are nestled in the mountain overlooking the Aegean. You have a very short walk down to the Black Beach, where you will also find plenty of restaurants, stores, tavernas, etc. The area is perfect b/c it is quiet, perfect for families. You will pay a lot less on the other side of the island where we were, in Kamari. Those areas are busier with more activity. Remember, for approx. 35e, you can rent a car (recommended) and tour the island for the day. It is roughly 12 miles, tip-to-tip. The car was brought to the hotel (!) and we were able to drop it off at the airport! The room was big and was perfect for our family of five. It is difficult to find rooms that sleep 4+. We had AC and a kitchenette. Nice pool. A well-stocked bar. Breakfast was free and the prices for the drinks were very great. WiFi is free in the lobby. You can purchase an access card for 5+ euros, depending on your service level. Fine for general browsing. Each family member was eager to please throughout our stay. A last note, as we checked-out, Tassos ran down and wished us well on our trip home and thanked us for our stay. Where else do you get that time of hospitality? Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
• Paula (8/5): Great place to stay in Kamari - We just returned from a fabulous trip that included 3 nights in Kamari Beach, Santorini at the Aegean View. We traveled with our two older children and the apartment style room was perfect w/ two single beds and a separate queen room for us. We stayed in room 501 which was ideally located close enough to the pool ,breakfast and lobby yet quiet with an expansive view of Kamari, the Aegean and its incredible sunrise! The pool was great, the breakfast was abundant and good with a variety of items and made to order omelets. The staff was very helpful and polite. We had an early departure on Tuesday and they made us early breakfast and took us to the airport. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
• Penny (10/5): Lovely small Greek run hotel in Kamari - We were warmly greeted by the staff who looked after us really well throughout our stay. We had a jaw-dropping view of the Aegean with amazing sunrises . The sea, shops and walks up to ancient Thira are very close. Our room was big with kitchenette (microwave, fridge and hob). It was so nice to have it cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Speak to Alex to get on some great excursions to the volcano and Oia for the sunset - fantastic! Oh and don't miss out on the Greek night !

The hotel is located on a hill a short distance from town and the beach. The bus stop is also conveniently nearby. Our room was clean and comfortable with a lovely, large balcony. We hope to return before too long.
• young couple (6/5): 3-4 star, rather than a 4 star - Plus points: lovely location, lovely view, very spacious room (as they all appear to be) Negative/ less good: Dated bathroom and kitchenette fittings, very noisy fridge so had to turn off at night. Also noisy bathroom door handle!! (Not good if you share with a light sleeper. A double rather than king size bed. Bed was very squeaky! Dated decor. Breakfast ok. Would say the room was more the standard of a 3-4 star, rather than a 4 star.
• Lou (10/5): Friendly staff - We are a family with kids 10 and 8 , we really enjoyed our stay, the location is good few minutes walk if you want to take the bus to fira. The breakfast is basic but it is ok, the pool is very nice at opens until 10 pm. And the best is the view. The staff are so friendly and they booked our excursion to the volcano and the hot springs giving us a lot of advices to have a good time. Our room was quite big and comfy.

• Laurie (8/5): Off the beaten path - Aegean View Hotel is situated on the top of a hill overlooking the sea. It's within walking distance to restaurants, groceries, a bus stop and the beach in Kamari, where you can also get a water taxi to Perissa. It's a 15-minute drive from the airport. Hotel staff are welcoming and the accommodations are spacious, but not fancy. All rooms have an outside space overlooking the pool and café, where you have both indoor and outdoor areas to take breakfast. Breakfast was a generous display of help yourself food - eggs, cold cuts, jams and bread, coffee or tea, juices - included with the cost of the room. Kamari is a relatively quiet town, so if you want to be in the thick of the tourism scene, you will want to travel to either Fira or Oia. These are the towns one typically associates with Santorini, so you find more Americans in those towns.
• Danii (10/5): Paradise! - We stayed there for 3nights and it was like HEAVEN! George the barman was very friendly and funny. Service was excellent, the room was always clean and we were blown away by the spaciousness. We had an awesome view looking over Kamari and we are definitely going to be back :) A fantastic hotel!!!!
