Guest Reviews
- Joanne (8/5): -
- marcus (7/5): Fine for the one night stay. We slept well and the shower worked well. - Well thought although very compact. Open spaces, outdoor furniture and plenty of parking added to the experience. Beginning to need a little TLC but everything worked.
- Tobias (10/5): -
- Neil (8/5): Lovely location and well presented room with facilities - Location was wonderful
- Tracey (10/5): - Good quality bedding, all you need is catered for. Just as described. Could do with more cutlery.
- Julie (10/5): Lovely little get away in a cosy stable - Lovely, quiet location, we had the smallest stable but it was fine for the 2 of us and our dog. Lovely walks along the canal and stops at the local pubs
- Alex (10/5): -
- Gareth (7/5): Peaceful stay at The Stables - Deer Farm - Quiet location, comfortable bed and perfect for a one night stay. Complimentary pastries for breakfast were appreciated Due to rural location, wifi and phone signal very poor, so made it difficult to work. TV in room was too small
- Jacqueline (9/5): A lovely peaceful getaway, very quiet with lots of lovely walks nearby and short drive to shopping centre if needed. - Peaceful location, clean rooms, comfy bed.
- Claire (7/5): -
- Rick (5/5): First trip! - I liked the countryside setting. I liked the animals out in the fields. I liked being close to Knowle and its shops. Warwick was not far away. I liked the shower pressure. It was quiet after 11pm. I wasn't keen on the bed. Took me a while to drop off. The shower head needs a good cleaning. The room was functional.
- Georgia (8/5): Short and sweet - Bed was super comfy, loved the animals too and super quiet and open
- Sarah (7/5): -
- Jo (9/5): You wouldn’t have thought you were in Birmingham - it was quiet and peaceful and a lovely little gem - Peaceful and quiet - cosy and had everything you needed Not much
- Nichola (7/5): Peaceful surroundings, friendly owner, some aspects of the room could be improved. - Gorgeous surroundings, bed was firm and comfortable, thoughtful breakfast pastries and coffee/ tea provided. The fridge was that noisy we could not sleep. Also you can really hear noise from the adjoining rooms when they are using the toilet or shower or even moving around which is not good when you have a dog. Rooms are quite small considering we had paid extra for one which was dog friendly. As we only stayed for one night it was manageable.
- Mika (10/5): A beautiful, calm and peaceful getaway - Beautiful and quiet setting, perfect to spend a relaxing time with my dog. The room was furnished nicely matching the deer park theme and had everything I needed, kitchenette well equipped and a god send. Spacious shower room. Plenty of parking space. Nothing!
- Béatrice (8/5): - Studio confortable, nous y allons chaque fois que nous allons à Solihull, 3 fois pour le moment et y retournerons.
L'endroit est très calme tout en étant assez proche de la ville.
- Claire (8/5): Cosy, comfy and in the middle of the countryside. Loved the Alpacas and the ponies. - The location is lovely, the rooms were cute and comfortable. The bathroom was slightly tired. But everything worked.
- Christopher (8/5): -
- Zahra (6/5): Small rooms but good location - Location was nice The rooms are really really small and the showers are outdated
- Ann (9/5): Recommended. The owners are very good and it was a lovely, albeit short stay. Nice to have a small outdoor seating area - Location is lovely and very handy for where I had an AGM the next day Could have done with more milk and sweeteners. We like our tea but we ran out of milk. Previously when I stayed there was a small bottle of milk, plus cereals and some eggs. Running out of milk was our fault as we didn’t realise until it was to late to ask for more
- SAMANTHA (9/5): -
- Chris (9/5): Would recommend as great value for money - Cute accommodation in a lovely quiet location
- Emma (10/5): 2 night stay for work. Perfect location for me. - They kindly provided pastries for the first nights stay, but as there was a kitchenette, you could get your own stuff in and suit yourself.
Location was fabulous!
- Rob (9/5): -
- Samantha (10/5): - Great little countryside getaway. Value for money, very clean
- Colin (8/5): Just right for what we needed - Used as overnight stop before morning flight from BHX.
Very quiet rural location.
Nice comfortable room.
- Vanessa (8/5): Good Location & comfy rooms - The location was really nice, the accommodation was comfortable & supplied all needed for a couple of days stay, peaceful. Alpacas were lovely. If you like peace & quiet it’s a good place to stay. Could have been a-little cleaner in the bathroom & fridge needs attention on door.
The advert showed lots of horses we only saw a couple in a field and the deer were too far as it was too muddy to get to see them fully. Needs a-little TLC outside the rooms as the photos are from possibly years ago & not really a bad point but a larger TV would have been better & the remote didn’t work but we turned it over on the TV.
- Edward (10/5): -
- Jane (8/5): - Care taken into ensuring comfort
- Lydia (7/5): A pleasant place to stay for one night and a good nights sleep but wouldn’t stay longer. - Lovely location. Good communication from the host. Comfortable bed. Well sized room. Shower door not secure. Broken flooring in bathroom. Hairs on bathroom floor. A few ants. Fridge door needs mending. Breakfast parties only just in date. Temperamental toilet flush.
- Matthew (8/5): -
- Daniel (5/5): Difficult to recommend - The bed was comfortable and the shower pretty powerful. You need at least a 4x4 to navigate the road leading from the gate to the stables. The room was not particularly clean with a previous visitor’s contact lens pot on the bathroom floor and a number of long black hairs found, which I imagine belong to the cleaner.
- Julie (10/5): Fantastic stay, beautiful room & amazing location. - Fantastic and perfect location. The room, No 8, far exceeded our expectations. It is very spacious, spotlessly clean, and furnished to a very high standard. We had the most wonderful stay. Heather is absolutely amazing with communication, so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. It is also very dog friendly and our Yorkie loved the walks around the farm fields and long track.
We will definitely be returning in the very near future.
- Eleanor (10/5): -
- c (8/5): Somewhere to stay between places so perfect for that.we would stay again. - Comfort cleanliness outlook quiet
- Lisa Bennet (9/5): Lovely - Location peace and quiet. We had everything that we needed.thank you
- Kayleigh (10/5): -
- Katie (8/5): -
- Martyn (8/5): - simplicity space
- Lynsey (7/5): - Location and value for money Very small
- Andrea (9/5): Convenient and tranquil spot - Peaceful location but within easy reach of Birmingham. Everything we needed for an overnight stay and the bed was very comfortable. We would certainly stay again.
- Tanya (7/5): - The distance to nec was perfect
- Dan (10/5): -
- Jason (8/5): Overal a lovely stay - Liked the location and the layout Could have been slightly cleaner
Better breakfast offering
Was £10 more booking it through booking.com
- Fiona (7/5): - Very comfortable accommodation with everything we needed.
- Simon (10/5): Our second stay, recommended - Handy location for NEC Room was compact but ok
- Cathy (9/5): Great property, shame about the weather! - Lovely set up in the room and everything we needed The pot holes in the driveway - the weather wasn't great so im sure this caused it.
- Baljinder (10/5): -
- Darren (9/5): Very nice place to stay. - Owners were very accommodating. Needs more signage.
- Frostick (9/5): - Super place, clean and very comfortable in a lovely quiet location
- Helen (10/5): -
- Philip (7/5): Warm Winter Retreat - Property was clean and warm and every contact I had with the team there was great.
It was a mid January stay so outdoor conditions were as you would expect. It would be great to see the place in mid spring. Small things- glasses and cutlery are mismatched; just niggles really
- Darren (8/5): -
- Darren (7/5): -
- Tiffany (10/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Altogether better choice than NEC hotels if you are staying over for a trade show. - Quiet, clean and excellent value at this price. Only a short drive from the NEC. I will book again the next time I have to stay over for a trade show.
- Phil (8/5): -
- samantha (10/5): -
- Clair (10/5): Quiet place for an overnight stay - Adjust your own heating,
Nice quiet location
Comfy bed
Good shower
En-suite alpacas! N/a
- Tina (9/5): Excellent would highly recommend - Fabulous location beautiful superior king size bed Lack of milk I like tea at least twice and small pots not enough
- Isobel (8/5): Another comfortable stopover - THe location is great for visiting Packwood House and Baddesley Clinton. It is easy to check in. It is quiet. The bed is comfortable and has controllable heating There is a kitchenette which is useful - but little in the way of utensils - beyond cutlery. There is no chopping board, or knives, particularly a bread knife or scissors. So couldn't make the most of the facilities.
- Suzanne (10/5): Great relaxing place, clean and so peaceful - It's a lovely location Hornets in the room at night big things that are quite scary looking that's happened twice now not sure if there is a nest or anything
- Suzanne (10/5): -
- Steve (8/5): -
- Pearl (8/5): Very good owners care and it shows - I liked the location and nice to be able to have my dog there with fields and animals to look at Not much really
- Doherty (9/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): Was very nice base for us before going to the NEC - The bed was nice and comfy, plenty of pillows. The shower and toilet was really clean and nice to use, plenty of tea bags and the scenery was fantastic outside. The llamas and ponys on the drive in were lovely and had my partner commenting on them. Honestly could say so much more great things about this place but im exhausted from driving. Honestly there wasnt alot to not like, woke up to the radiator on for some reason and couldn't understand why (we had the fan on all night because it was warm but not uncomfortable) thats literally the only thing i could say, and maybe it was something we did
- Peter (8/5): Great place beautiful setting - Beautiful setting, comfortable, and clean Nothing, we did have extreme weather conditions and could have been a bit warmer
- Abdulhadi (8/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): Lovely location and the basics are provided - The location is lovely and as you would expect from a farm. The room was adequate for our needs and there were a few pastries, tea and coffee available for your arrival. The heating was enough to keep the chill off as it snowed during our stay. The door (stable 3) sticks quite badly and the handle is inadequate to pull it open to exit the room so you have to open the top half of the stable door to open it, this could be easily sorted by adding a simple pull handle on the door which in the event of a fire would be essential for a speedy exit. The provided towels were adequate but could have been larger. The only sink to wash any plates or cups used is the bathroom sink which isn't easy. Compared to other similarly priced properties we have recently stayed in it was very basic.
- Josie (10/5): Lovely break for a really good price - Room location and views Nothing
- Susan (8/5): -
- Suzanne (10/5): -
- Sheila (10/5): Very comfortable, clean and relaxing. -
- Amy (8/5): lovely quiet stay near to NEC Birmingham - A lovely alternative to staying in airport hotels, The Stables is in a charming rural setting only 15-20 minutes from the NEC, plenty amenities only 5 minutes away in Knowle. The stable block has parking just outside and a nice view out over the fields. The stable is comfy, cozy and well appointed - mine had fridge, kettle, toaster and a small kitchenette with plenty of dishes as well as some nice breakfast items, tea coffee etc. Access and directions were provided and I got a prompt response to my message from the host.
- Chris (6/5): -
- Katrina (10/5): Fantastic stay surrounded by nature in beautiful setting. Great room with all amenities provided. - The rural setting, the accommodation. The free upgrade of room was very much appreciated.
- Ruby (10/5): -
- Kim (10/5): - Very cosy & comfortable
Coffee, tea & pastries supplied
- Vernon (8/5): A hidden gem - Really good communication for checking in and we had a warm welcome with friendly advice about the area. The village is lovely and easy to get to. It was comfortable and well stocked with all the essentials you need. The surroundings were pretty and very secure. Only a minor thing but the shower could do with a bit of an upgrade.
- Jill (10/5): Idyllic place to stay, has everything you need. - Perfect overnight stay for an early flight next morning.
Would definitely stay here again.
- Michelle (10/5): Magical - Turned up at night and it felt magical, even saw the lamas. Room amazing! It was perfect
- Gary (10/5): Rural Vibe Near The NEC - A nice touch having the pastries & jam, tea, coffee & milk. Everything was provided in the room for simple self catering. Very, very peaceful and so convenient for the NEC. Ample secure parking. Fun seeing the Alpacas and Shetland Ponies in the paddocks.
- andrew (9/5): I have stayed several times before. Ideal for my needs, cozy and value for money. - Nice touch with the food extras in the room, thank you. TV is getting old and the remote has lost all the 'details' so you don't know volume or station selection etc
Drive is VERY bumpy!
- Christopher (9/5): - Peaceful and cozy location. Nothing,....All good
- Michelle (9/5): Clean abd comfortable - Clean and tidy everything you need Nothing
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- amanda (10/5): Loved it - Very quirky, especially quaint and cosy
Lovely setting with beautiful scenery
Excellent facilities Neighbours were a little noisy
- Helen (7/5): -
- Louise (8/5): -
- Roy (10/5): I use this location whenever I’m in the area. - Location and price. Nothing.
- Richard (3/5): -
- Laura (7/5): good value - locality and surroundings last minute room change and delay in getting into the room. Control of the heating not great...thermostat in the shower or hot water supply meany shower would get hot then go cold then get warmer bit not constant (room 9) shpould have been in room 10
- Penny (8/5): Second visit - would happily stay again! - Beautiful accommodation, perfect location for us as we were visiting the NEC. Fabulous shower!!
- Julie (10/5): Just really fab - Loved the location, loved the alpacas. The bedroom was lovely, bed comfy, heating really effective. Just really lovely overall Nothing
- Joanne (9/5): Very comfortable room with excellent facilities. - Everything you could need was provided! Very comfortable with an excellent bathroom with large shower, two chairs and comfortable bedding. The kitchenette even included a portable stove top (which I didn’t need on this occasion), and microwave which allowed me to stay in and not find somewhere to eat instead. Good parking. Your neighbours can be heard. I was lucky and had quite considerate ones but even so, don’t expect total quiet! I also wasn’t happy that I couldn’t extra lock my door from the inside. There was a lock but it didn’t appear to work. Being on my own, I found this a little disconcerting.
- Lisa (10/5): What a beautiful place to stay.... - The room was very spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. There were towels and body wash etc. the kitchen had a little welcome basic, enough for a couple of cups of coffee/tea each.
Bed was very cosy and comfortable.
The views were amazing. A beautiful setting. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants the peaceful night or two away. Only problem we had was the taxi drivers from Uber had a problem finding the property. Suggest you use Google Maps instead of the sat nav that Uber uses.
This is not a criticism of the property, more of a tip to fellow customers in the future.
- Stephenson (9/5): - We booked the smallest room. It had everything we needed. Lovely, quiet location.
- Conor (10/5): Very pleasant and nice chats with the owner, in passing. - Surroundings
