William (4/5): - We were on the third floor, the access stairs were off the kitchen and the atmosphere smelled of chips. The furniture and bed were old, with the bed having just a foam mattress. While the bedding and towels were clean, it was obvious that the room had not been cleaned in the corners for a time, the decor was also tired. Added to that the shower was moldy so we didn't use it, had to have a hand wash.
Anthony (4/5): - The property is old above pub and the rooms dated but none of these are the reasons for my review the sole reason is the cleanliness of the room was subpar. There was dust on the toilet the shower essentially looked like they'd only cleaned the side where fresh cups have been placed this was the only clean thing about the room my wife was horrendously biten by bugs. That being said the staff were nice and live entertainment was quite enjoyable.
Philip (8/5): Met all our needs - It was located in the town centre with convenient adjacent pay and display car park. The staff were very friendly and made sure we were well looked after. The room was simple but spacious, and the bed comfortable.

Neil (6/5): - Liked Central Location , Did Not Like cleanliness of property but having said that it is very dated and well overdue for a Refurb , if it was you could charge double because of location. Parking was a nightmare trying to pay for as the machjne did not work properely.(I believe that parking is not controlled by hotel ) Breakfast OK
Verified traveler (4/5): - Not the best . Kettle was rusty so couldn’t even have a cup of tea. Room very basic but bedding was clean and bed comfortable. Some stains on wall and furniture that could easily be cleaned up. Place just needs a refurb and it would be fine. Staff were nice . Only stayed as last minute option wouldn’t book again. It’s a shame it’s in a great location right near the beach. Also not value for money at all. Didn’t stay for breakfast as that was extra cost so went elsewhere.

Rachael (10/5): - Me and my children stayed and i have to say i was super surprised after reading other reviews. I found nothing wrong our stay it was clean our room was light and airy the staff were lovely and its 2 minutes from the beach. Il definitely be booking again! Thankyou.
Melvin (8/5): - Staff were excellent. In the heart of filey itself, out of the door and straight onto the street with a variety of shops to please everyone. Breakfast was an add on price as was the parking. Downsides were the steep stairs to the room and a very noisy pub opposite. Would definitely stay again but for less mobile guests its not ideal.
Joyce (2/5): - This hotel could collapse while you sit on the loo, which is certainly not horizontal. Rotting window frames, bed supported by piece of timber beneath centre of base. Peeling wallpaper, collapsing shower, no hairier, no lift, it’s simply the most delapidated dump I’ve ever experienced and costs nearly £100 per night. The staff are cheerful and pleasant, they deserve to work for an establishment that actually cares about it’s customers wellbeing

Chris (6/5): Stay at Three Tuns Filey - There was rubbish under one of the beds. The car park was privately run and as the parking meter was not working and there was no way of paying for some of the time we were there, we now risk a parking fine.
Abigail (4/5): Shocking accommodation - I have never stayed in such filthy accommodation. I read reviews of dated accommodation and I was ok with that but was not prepared for dirty bathroom and toilet floor on a slope which was very disorienting for my husband who is an amputee. The bed was broken on one side so I didn’t sleep a wink. The windows are single glazed and from 4am all I heard was seagulls and then the bin men. Breakfast was paid for on arrival and I couldn’t face eating as to get to the rooms you had to walk through the kitchen and they were a pet friendly hotel so dogs were walking through where food was prepared to get upto the rooms.

Baz (2/5): Never again - The most outdated ever seen for the type of money paid. £100 per night was far to expensive for a room which was dirty and stained sheets with very loud floor boards and the door locks did not make you feel safe.
Russell (2/5): Not worth the price - This is not worth the price. This is a tired old pub. Room was a good size but severely in need of updating. Having to go through part of the kitchen to get to the rooms is very odd. The bathroom was large but no heating so was cold. The tiles around the bath/shower were dirty. The heating was on a timer but you can't set the times. I was provided with a fan heater though. Trailing cables to the small tv and extension cable for the kettle. As it is the closed season the pub actually closed at 5pm so we were given keys to access the back door. We were the only people in the building.

Jackie (4/5): - We appreciate the location is town centre but the shabby condition of the accommodation is nowhere near the £100 price tag charged per night. It gets worse, as you have to pay another £10 to park in the pub’s car park overnight. Really feel that we’ve been seriously overcharged for what was probably worth no more than £60/£70 max. Staff we met were helpful and friendly though.
P8122QQcarlal (2/5): Horrible customer service - Called in today with my young disabled son and asked to use the toilet as he was desperate and is only a young child (5) I was then told I had to purchase something for him to use the toilet before he could even use the restroom resulting in him having an accident as couldn’t hold it in, we then had to go back to our place of stay as he couldn’t continue with his activities for the day we had planned, shocking wouldn’t advise anyone to go here. Stay clear!
John (4/5): - The staff were freindly but the whole place was filthy . The tv in the room didnt work .you had to go to the bathroom to fill the kettle which you couldnt get under the tap properly so you could only half fill it. There was no hand basin in the room or in the toilet so if somone was using the bathroom and you had used the toilet you could not wash your hands i would definitely not use this place again
E2728MCandrewp (2/5): Omg, I wouldn’t want to put my hamster up in this dive! - Omg, wouldn’t even put my hamster up in this dive! Room was filthy, shared bathrooms and toilets even worse. No staff present at any time so not able to complain. They’d already taken advance payment so win, win for them. Worst digs I’ve ever stayed in. Cleveland Way and Yorkshire Wolds walkers, take a tarp and sleep under the stars!!

juliepY8440FK (2/5): Do not stop here - Don't stay at this place. I am not one to review accomodation but this place is so bad I feel Indeed to try and warn people not to stay. It is dirty, the beds are terrible not clean and very old and uncomfortable, and the shower was the dirtiest I have ever seen. I slept on the top of the bed as it looked so grubby. I got up and left at 7am to get out of building. If I was offered a free night I would turn it down. How they can charge a £100 a night is unbelievable you would have to paye to stop there again.Be aware
Susan (2/5): - This property is totally worn out and criminal the charge for room only is £100 for a double room. There didn’t seem to be anyone in charge and all the staff were young and inexperienced. In short the experience was terrible and a disgrace.
46biggy46 (2/5): Not good - We popped in for a drink and hopefully food. Was told cash only and the menu is on the board. The list of about 7 things and no vegetarian options. In a couple of our drinks there was black bits in the drinks Avoid this place we ate somewhere else and the pub was full of dogs.

Verified traveler (4/5): Misleading Description of Features - The staff were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. While the stairs were narrow and difficult for someone of limited mobility, the nature of the building makes this understandable. However, there were features advertised that were not in practice available. Parking Available - there is a pay & display public car park that adds £10 per day. Had this been clear we would not have stayed here. Bar - the bar is only available if the town itself is busy. While I wouldn’t expect it to be open 24/7 it is very disappointing for it to close in the afternoon and therefore not available to guests staying in the hotel in the evening. Restaurant - again, like the bar only opens if the town is busy, and only in the afternoon. Even when it was busy in the evening, food was no longer available. This is again disappointing for those staying in the hotel, forcing you to try and find a meal nearby. Breakfast - while available and of reasonable quality, the price of £8 was far too high for what was offered. Also, there was a note saying towels were not provided only for us to be provided with towels. Overall a very disappointing place to stay. We selected this based on features it advertised that in practice turned out to not be available. Had that been clear, we would not have stayed there. I would not recommend staying there to anyone.
David (4/5): - The room marks all over the wardrobes, wallpaper falling off stuck up with tape ,bed sheets marked, bed base stained. Toilet walls all mark poo inthe Toilets brush, bathroom not to clean. Was told beakfast was only £5 when arrived they said it had gone to £8 would not say it was the best to say it was dearer 1 slice bacon 2 small sausage 1 egg beans and tomatoes. 2 slice toast
Global22313613943 (2/5): Mmm interesting place 🤦‍♂️ - Me & my wife stayed here for 1 night THANKFULLY . To start we were shown to our room which clearly hadn’t been decorated since the 1980s the mattress was probably from the 90s , please note you have to share a toilet and separate bathroom on the landing the toilet was on a slant and had pieces of turd down it , we didn’t bother having a shower enough said . We had been out for the evening and returned we had a drink in the bar and then the local nutter arrived shouting and swearing so we went up to our room , all the commotion carried on upstairs with this nutter which we later found out was a resident at the property , the staff had to kick her out because of the chaos she was causing , the nights sleep on the mattress was impossible , anyway the next morning we had paid for breakfast already we were concerned what it was going to be like and to be fair it was a decent full English with a nice cuppa. The young couple of staff working there were really nice though , but we definitely won’t be returning , anyone thinking of staying here do it at your own risk and this is coming from someone who has stayed in some s#itholes over the years.

Jane (6/5): Meeting family in Filey - The young people running the hotel were very helpful and welcoming but we would have appreciated information in the changed car park situation especially as we now needed to pay and with coins!! No-one carries that amount of pound coins these days and £10 for overnight is a lot of coins never mind expensive when generally parking is free after 6pm. We would have appreciated the tea tray being replenished for our second night too. Obviously it was very quiet in the evening so we had no way to contact you in the evening or night time
clairedT7016FK (8/5): A great location in the heart of town - Lovely comfy beds, great location, friendly, clean and cosy room, great price in the heart of town. Perfect for a night out near the other pubs and restaurants. We will be returning soon. Has a very welcoming feel and breakfast was fab too. If you like a proper seaside bed and breakfast then you really can't go wrong here. Teapots!! An absolute bonus.
Marie (2/5): - ROOM 5 H&S issues: cables hanging from tv. Plugged into an extension with kettle. No parking- pay and display £10 per day Water leak in area leading to beer garden. Mold on tiles and screen round bath, every corner has ingrained dirt. Cobwebs in bedroom. Four flights of dirty stairs - not asked if able to access. Cooking smells from kitchen- fire door to accommodation never closed. Bin in room not emptied and room not serviced during my four night stay. Couldn’t close old fashioned sash windows. All this for £70 per night and breakfast not included. - how did l fall for it??
Jackie (8/5): Lovely stay - I booked this as visiting friends in the centre of Filey and it was central and cheap. I then looked at the reviews and nearly cancelled. However, I don't know what people expect for the price! It was clean, had TV and refreshments. The staff were lovely. I would book again (mattress did creak when moving tho)

Verified traveler (6/5): Not disabled friendly poor on site - Old property staff are lovely very helpful friendly .. however rooms over a pub so expect noise and music property and rooms are tired dated and not all are ensuite .and not that clean . really do not book if mobility issues or disabled and forget it if in a wheel chair no lift and two flights of very narrow stairs to each floor rooms are on two floors. Doors to rooms sticks and bed vv uncomfortable pillows were stained and smelly good tea coffee supplies but dearnt use as kettle was minging inside .. plenty of wardrobe space but one mirror and really high so can't see full length or use it for much than it covers the wall .plus as toilets are shared expect constant noises from flushing Loos and people using them . food ok breakfast was quite late in morning so not ideal if you want to get out early for th day and checkout is 10am so rush to have breakfast at 9.00 and then get ready for day get a bit of hassle by staff l to get out by 9.30 but booking on line said 10 .. No free on site parking only public carpark pay by hour quite expensive in relation to others in Filey sorry but worst place I've stayed and in this day and age 70.00 is still not cheap a night

John (2/5): No soap or towels in bathroom the place shut down - No soap or towels in the bathroom went to the bar/ recetion to get soap ect all shut down 18.00 wanted a meal and drink all closed beds excessivley noisy when turning over went to bar/reception all shut down 07.30. We had to leave WITHOUT A SHOWER OR WASH. Found someone in the kitchen they could not help and we will not be back for the next booked night. I would a refund for the second night the bar/reception is in desperate revamp NOT HAPPY
anng713 (2/5): Extremely disappointing - We were briskly ushered to our table, given a choice of pork or beef before we were even seated and payment demanded immediately. When the meal arrived it was pre packed beef, frozen veg, including roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding and catering powdered gravy. When we asked for horseradish sauce they had run out. Shan’t be going there again

danbS4104VO (2/5): Meal and drinks - Avoid this place at all costs. Without question it's the worst hospitality establishment in Filey. From the service to the food, absolutely shocking, even the car park metre doesn't work. I couldn't imagine staying here, thankfully I didn't.

Olwyn (8/5): - Our stay was good apart from one of the beds which was not at all comfortable, bit outdated but somewhere to put head down, breakfast its self was lovely, but my daughter does not drink hot drinks so it had to be cordial no fresh orange juice offered, all considered would not put me off staying again staff fantastic.
HeidiMaeSummers (2/5): Would not stay again - We stayed for one night in this hotel as we were visiting family in Filey. On first reaction the smell wasn’t very nice, most of the staff were lovely, one very rude when we asked if they did cash back so we could pay £10 for the 24 hours in the car park (on top of the £70 room!!) the answer was “no” and then she walked off. The rooms were smelly, dirty, wallpaper taped on, yellow walls, broken beds, not to mention the toilet on a slant across the corridor that the whole floor shared!! Didn’t sleep in the bed as it felt dirty, cobwebs over furniture. Wore my shoes whilst walking around the room as didn’t want to step on the carpet barefoot!! Actually considered sleeping in the car in the car park we paid extra for. Not a nice place to be at all, we didn’t even have breakfast, straight up & out at 8:30pm.
Jason (8/5): The Three Tuns - Stayed on Friday the 22/07/22 The location was spot on in the centre of Filey and only a few minutes walk to the beach. The staff where great very friendly. The breakfast was spot on. No complaints whats so ever. We definitely would stay again.

Y7286XAjamesh (2/5): Proper dump! - We stayed here for a night after a day of golfing and all I can say is what a Poo hole!! Out of the four rooms we booked mine was the only one with a shower…..the rest had to use the communal shower! There is damp all over, the bedding and mattress was filthy the curtains were a brown/yellow colour (I think they was supposed to be white) the floor in the bathroom was pulling up because of damp and the wallpaper was hanging off! Somebody had even left a turd in the toilet for us! The only positive thing is the staff are lovely
martinh2469 (2/5): Needs massive investment - From the front of the pub the Three Tuns looks like a traditional old coach house. Unfortunately when you go in it is a dark, characterless, bland building. The decor needs completely updating as it looks like there hasn't been any investment in this for decades. When we mentioned where we were staying the locals just laughed and gave out some expletives about the place. It really is a crying shame I don't know the reasons for this neglect of the building, but this place has the potential to be a gem for Filey, but it needs a hell of a lot of money injecting into it.
Keh066 (2/5): Vacation - The staff are very friendly and accommodating,but the rooms are dated,wallpaper hanging off,damp patches in the bathroom, the fan was bunged with dirt and dust,and the room needs a massive deep clean and redecorating, who ever owns the pub should not be allowed to charge £80 per night,infact they shouldn't be allowed to rent them out in that kind of state, also it is a private parking company called "SMART PARKING "they clock you in the second you go into carpark,and the machine only accepts coins ,after 5 hours you have to pay for 24 hours which costs £10 even if you dont stay 24 hours,these parking companies are a right scam. I would have thought that whoever owns three tuns would have taken the previous bad reviews on board,sadly not.
Samantha (2/5): Unhappy - The hotel was filthy we had to leave early as there's no way I could stay with my children the tv didn't work the plug sockets didn't work the bed n sheets were dirty mattress stained man in room opposite was drunk n grunting at my 3 small children who were scared he was smoking in his room which drifted over to my room and its a non smoking hotel u have to go through kitchen to get to rooms again not very safe if the knifes etc get into the wrong hands the rooms themselfs weren't very safe only had a slide lock onto door we left in middle of night due to not being able to stay there

d (2/5): Never go here - Never stay again say open all year so went over Christmas no cooked breakfast just stale croissants have to go through kitchen to get to room Christmas Day no staff got locked out or room as kitchen door locked when I got back had to find another door to get in ,toilet took about 7 pulls before it would flush ,shower puts more water out of bath than in ,place was a dump left after 1 night of a 3 night stay looks nice from outside but inside needs a total refit would not recommend going there at all
Raymond (2/5): Totally disgusting - Words cannot describe how disgusting the whole aspect of the stay was & if we never stayed away again i would never stay there .How they get away with health & safety when you have to go through the kitchen to ascend the stairs to the rooms is totally beyond compression.
Richard (2/5): Not worth the stay! - The room was awful, the heating didn’t work properly and so a fan heater was installed. The bed and pillows look and felt really old and didn’t smell fresh. The toilet seat was broken the toilet roll holder was broken. The pub was closing at 7pm and also when booking the room nothing was made clear about parking being an extra cost. The room was so bad we didn’t even stay, the keys were handed back and now looking for a refund!
yankowskionhols (2/5): Just walk on by. - Without a doubt the dirtiest, most disgusting pub I have ever been in, how Environmental Health hasn’t closed this place down I can’t understand. There’s a very nasty smell of damp inside the pub, outside in what they call a “ beer garden “ there’s a strong smell of bad drainage. There are some really nice bars in Filey, The Three Tuns is definitely not one of them .
RoyF31 (2/5): A Dump - I have never been in such a dark dreary pub. The tables were covered in a white melamine which had a bizarre effect on the interior. The old retainer who served us was pleasant enough but more deaf than me and got the order wrong. We consumed our drinks quickly to get out of the place.
Yvonne (4/5): - Bed,beer and breakfast good Upstairs very smelly and filthy. Bathroom needs a good scrub all over and new flooring, and the shower grout and ceiling . Window sills need painting.
Boland (4/5): Three Tuns Filey - Very old and run down. The shower cubicle was very small and needed a good clean. The room only had one single socket. No pat test labels on any portable equipment. Bar cash only parking. Run by smart £10 for 24hrs again only took £1 coins who carries that. £100 fine for not paying. Breakfast was reasonable. Would not use again.

Lizzie (6/5): A bit disappointing. - The first problem was parking - £10 per day which we paid for the first day. Cash only so ten pounds in coins needed. Our room was up four flights of stairs and was a decent size. It was en suite but the plumbing was old and it showed. The hotel was a bit tired and could have done with a really good spruce up. Greater attention to detail on the cleaning front would help. That said, can’t fault the staff who are really pleasant and helpful. You get what you pay for - it’s certainly cheap at £50 per night, but if you’re fussy, don’t do it.
Nicholas (6/5): - We had just finished a long hiking holiday and weren't looking for much from a hotel other than a cheap place to stay overnight. Our room was good value, and the location in the centre of Filey is great. However the room and shared toilet/shower were quite dirty and could do with a deep clean and basic repairs. Both our room door and shared toilet door stuck really badly and had to be slammed with force, waking everyone up. The curtains were hanging off the rail. Various other similar things let the hotel down, but would not be difficult for the management to fix. If you're not picky and on a tight budget then this is the place for you.

Nothing too much trouble. price reflects what you get. would advise booking on-suite room. breakfast was lovely, enjoyed the sound of the seagulls very much.
Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing stay - Wifi isnt free, didnt get given a password or anything for it, was told parking was private over the phone and well hidden, it isnt, it was £10 per night and for £70 a night its jusy shoddy, the fact that its a shared bathroom is gross. There was dust and cobwebs in our room, abit unhygenic considering you pass through the kitchen to get to your rooms, window was left open for us and we couldnt shut it so we had noise to deal with, when leaving, they have a bird downstairs in a filthy cage, i felt so sorry for it. £70 to stay just because its closer to the sea is ridiculous, wouldn't pay more than £25 a night
retired0ldguy (2/5): Amazingly filthy. - Filey is a lovely place with a wonderful beach, it's such a pity that places like the Tree Tuns are bringing down the reputation of the town. The pub is generally dirty, the staff are dismissive when questioned and in the "beer garden" which is not a garden at all, there is an aviary! I was compelled to ask a member of staff about the regularity of the cleaning of the bird's cage. I was told that it's done each week, that's clearly untrue, the poor birds are in the dark in filthy conditions. This place should certainly be avoided.
405diannec (4/5): Poor Sunday lunch - We ordered Sunday lunch. We got frozen veg, frozen, frozen yorkshire puds , frozen roast potatoes and the beef was sliced like you buy from the supermarket. We eat better at home. The only food that was fresh was the new potatoes . The gravy was bland like it had been make just from gravy granules. Wouldn’t go here again for food.

David (4/5): Disappointed - first of all i had to pay 10 pounds for parking on the hotel car park. The room was dirty, looked like it hadnt been cleaned for a long time. The bed was uncomfortable and the bedding was filthy. The toilet didnt flush properly and the room was very poor in general.

annemR5135RS (8/5): Lovely meal in dog friendly pub - We were looking for a dog friendly place to eat in Filey and found the Three Tuns purely by chance. All I can say is don’t judge a book by it’s cover (as per some of the reviews on here). The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious and everything was clean and tidy. My husband had the homemade steak pie, which he thoroughly enjoyed; I had scampi, which was delicious; our two girls enjoyed the kids meal of chicken nuggets. In a seaside town where there’s lots of busy places to eat but not many (obvious) dog friendly, the Three Tuns is definitely a place worth visiting.

Sarah (2/5): Avoid this filthy place - This is without doubt the worst place i have stayed. It was £80 for the one night extortionate, the place was filthy the bathroom floor was sticky the light didnt work the carpet in the room looked like it hadnt seen a hoover in a while i slept on top of the bed in my pyjamas and hoody, everything smelt dirty, the only redeeming feature was the staff were very friendly. I wouldnt have booked this but i was desperate to stay near scarborough.
AJ (6/5): Our stay - The staff were very warm and friendly. The breakfast was nice. The room was not clean , the bathroom was falling apart and it was over priced at £80 a night. It is not suitable for a small family or a long stay. The location of the hotel is a short walk to the beach.
Verified traveler (10/5): - the doors need a bit of carpentry work !! It would be handy to have some hooks on back of doors to hang a towel or coat, also in the bathroom a chair to put things on. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. I would book again if in the area.
Kirby (2/5): BEWARE WORST HOTEL IN UK - BE AWARE, THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL IN THE UK!!! ROOM1 Dirty rooms, hotel shuts at 9pm middle of August. Wallpaper in room coming off wall. The toilet wouldn’t flush. Beds smelt of years of se* A truly disgusting hotel. You also couldn’t close the windows as the old sashes had been painted open. We checked in at 3pm and we was back home by 10pm. At least we got a souvenir and I’m still treating the flea bites now. Save your money, find somewhere else or stay at home.

It's pretty outdated and lacking in any recent updates of decor or furniture: breakfast very basic in choice and style,but acceptable. Not a place to stay for much longer than you need to, but at least for walkers like us, would accept one night unlike a lot of places in Filey
MollyDexxx (2/5): AWFUL! - DISGUSTING AND NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE! I honestly do not understand how this hotel is aloud to open! This hotel belongs on the program hotel hell. I stayed here on the 5th and 6th of August 2021 and could not wait to leave! Where to begin.. Parking is presented to be free, however it's £10 a day. We were made to walk through the kitchen to our room. When entering Room 8 there were stains on the carpet, mattress, pillows and walls!!!! The remote and side lamp didn't work. In whole this place is completely dirty and needs ALOT of TLC! I decided to sleep on-top of my scarf as I felt so uncomfortable!!! The rooms smelt like smoke. No room service, phone or WIFI! The hotel had a shared bathroom which we expected, however the toilet door didn't close and had no sink. As two 20 year old girls we felt very unsafe. LETS NOT FORGET - No covid-19 restrictions. I would love to know when the hotel was inspected!!! How is this place legal? I know its cheap, but honestly I would've rather been in a tent.

Quest58537519136 (2/5): Please avoid. - Disgusting. The bed was stained and had hairs in it; the bathroom floor was coming up, condensation and mould in the bathroom too. They hadn’t even vacuumed the room. I’ve stayed in some places, but this was on another level. When I got home I found bugs in my luggage, so all my clothes went on a boil wash. I can’t 100% say that they came from the room - but on the balance of probabilities…!

Ann (4/5): Avoid - The place was very dated and was in need of some tlc the room had a musty smell about it and there wasnt much room to move around the bed bed side tables were dirty you could see the dust on them which i wiped with a antibacterial wipe before putting anything on them the toilet wouldn't flush properly & the taps on the sink were odd tiles around the shower were black music from the bar across the road was so loud you could here it word for word im only too glad that it didn't go on most of the night ! I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel it definitely wasnt worth the £80 that we paid and we wont be returning again
