Guest Reviews
- Sergio (10/5): - Posto tranquillo, personale gentilissimo, servizio impeccabile.
- Kathy (10/5): - The property is beautiful and well maintained. The food is great. A little difficult to find, but worth the effort.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful location and kind and helpful staff! We arrived tired and hungry and the restaurant had closed, but they brought us a fabulous meal and wine!
- Christophe (8/5): Séjour au calme. - Calme. Plaisant. Personnel tres sympa. On y mange bien. Bon vin.
- Tom (8/5): - Nice place. Too bad about the freeway.
- Verified traveler (10/5): La Dolce Vita - An authentic farm style stay. Terrific food, serviCe and venue. I would highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful villa nestled within a vineyard - Gorgeous and stately hotel with a long history. Friendly staff
- John (4/5): Run down hotel - ignore the high ranking - We were very impressed by the photos and the high rating of this hotel but we were very disappointed. The hotel is priced as a 4 star hotel, but the accommodation is at most at a 2 star level. It took a while to find the hotel at night with a total lack of proper signs. Parking is at an unpaved lower level and luggage needs to be carried quite far and at steep stairs. Rooms are unpleasant and need an urgent upgrade, with minimal outdated low quality furniture, no place to sit and a tube screen TV. No WiFi in rooms despite what was written. You need to unplug the (single!) bed lamp to charge your phone. One of the 3 rooms we reserved was supposed to be "premium" but we could not tell which one it was. Rooms were also over heated. The outside part of the hotel is an opposite to the rooms, great setup in the middle of a vineyard. Breakfast was continental and minimal, the worst we had during our 8 days in south Italy.
- jennifer (8/5): Trevligt - Fint, god mat och goda viner.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great wine, great food. Only issue is internet is poor and refridgerators in the rooms dont work
- Michael (10/5): - Lovely unique place. Nice grounds and friendly staff. Very good food. Shower a little small, but understandable in renovations. A little hard to fine but worth it!
- Harvey (10/5): Awesome in an old-world way! - Gorgeous setting--beautiful old manor hotel in the middle of Italian grape fields--what could be better? Fantastic experience. Only 12 guest rooms--old but mostly updated, porches, super high ceilings with original wood and doors. New bathroom. Grounds are awesome amid the grapesvines and Italian countryside. Restaurant served an amazing chef's choice meal. Pipi the resident dog greeted us with a bow, each time we came home. The perfect romantic event space--there were two weddings when we were there...
- Rich (10/5): Perfect Hideaway in the Benevento Vineyards - Tenuta Torre Gaia is tucked away in the Benevento countryside, surrounded by vineyards and orange trees. Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Nice, comfortable room, where you awaken to the roosters crowing and a
beautiful sunrise.
- Ibn Battuta (10/5): Lovely Hotel, Friendly Staff - You will enjoy the profound hospitality, in particular, ask Alex for anything and you will not be disappointed. The bed is very comfortable, the hotel is magnificently restored. The hotel grounds are ample. What stands out is the superb hospitality. Worth a stay!
- V (10/5): Great place in the middle of a vineyard - Torre Gaia has 5 star personalized service. The dinner in the restaurant is excellent. It is one of the nicest places I have stayed in Italy.
- Suzanne (10/5): Picture perfect Family stay - What this place lacks in luxury, it more than makes up for with charm. Everything was local and made with pure pride. The services was personal and outstanding! The grounds are picturquse. More of a B&B feel than a resort. Highly recommend for a family stopover between Rome and Tropea.
- Luc (10/5): Extraordinaire! - Fantastique hotel, absolument incroyable! On va y retourner...
- Verified traveler (10/5): perfect stay! - Perfect winery hotel with nice pool, great food and service - and good wines!
- Jeroen (10/5): Beautiful getaway - Beautiful renovated manor house in the Middle of a vineyard, this hotel creates a little paradise on earth. The renovation is to very high modern standard.
Staff is very friendly and the food served is very good. You are made welcome immediately.
You need own transportation as it's some 4 km from the nearest village, which gives it the serene environment we were looking for, and we did not mind that the internet was slower than we are used to :)
- Dixie (10/5): Look forward to staying here again! - Lovely pool & terrace - very tranquil and relaxing, with great views over vineyards to the distant mountains (although the main road was not so far away, this didn't mar the view or tranquility at all). Very friendly, helpful staff. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable, with an authentic 'Italian feel' to it (although unfortunately no view). Dinner was excellent (we were the only guests that night, and had a table laid for us by the pool, which was very romantic), and breakfast was also excellent.
- Darius (10/5): Beautiful hotel, great views close to Naples - The hotel is in a beautiful setting with spectacular views of gardens and mountains. Has a large infinity swimming pool. Bike trails. Rooms are comfortable but bathroom shower was very small. Staff was great. They are well known for their own vines and as a gastronomy destination. The Royal Palace of Caterra is 10 minutes away. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Linda and Kenneth (10/5): Dont miss this Exquisite Hotel! - The hotel, staff, food, service were absolutely exquisite. We booked for one night and extended for 2 more it was so wonderful. Even with that we hated to leave. It was our first night in Italy and are planning on staying 20 more. However, i know that the bar was set so high by the folks at Tenuta Torre Gaia, none of our other hotels will stand a chance. We travel the world lots, and this was the best!
- Alicia (10/5): Have a winery tour then spend the day sampling! - This restored monastery was a relaxing and fun experience! With only 3 people in the whole place combined with a picturesque countryside, it made for a perfect stay. A day spent by the pool, sipping wine, eating local antipasti, great conversation and the occasional swim. Only bug was the mosquitoes but we had the spray. To be expected at that time of the year.
Ristorante super!!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful getaway - This hotel was absolutely beautiful. I couldn't have been happier with our one night stay, wishing I could stay longer. The service was top of the line, comparable to North American service. The attention to detail was incredible. Nello and his staff were extremely pleasant and there for anything you needed. The food was fantastic and their house white wine was delicious. I can't wait to return and I will be going back my next trip to Italy! Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic place - A great hotel which was an excellent family friendly stopover - very high spec and very reasonably priced. Made a real effort with kids and not at all stuffy.
- Sal D (10/5): A Fabulous Experience - We have stayed at Torre Gaia previously. The last time was about 5 years ago. There has been a change in ownership and this beautiful facility is now better than ever before. The location and the view has always been wonderful but now that natural beauty is matched by the quality of the food and excellent wines. The staff is just incredible. From the reception desk staff to the dining room and housekeeping they are extremely well trained and professional. For my wife and I it was a wonderfully relaxing and satisfying end to a 2 week vacation in Italy. This is southern Italy at its best. We will be back. Bravo!
- Peter Kostmayer (6/5): a little gem sorrounded by, well not other gems - This is a pretty old house surrounded by vineyards so there are nice views and the room was big and comfortable. It is not ultra luxury, more country than big city. The surrounding area from which it is fenced off is brutal, mostly run down concrete block apartment buildings, but this country farm house is a little oasis amid it all with good food and very nice people.
- Couple (10/5): Most memorable stay we’ve had in Italy - The food and wine were fantastic. We highly recommend an off-season visit. The staff treat you like royalty; you feel like you own the estate.
Thank you, Anna !
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful Place! - Just returned from a two week trip to Italy and our stay at Tenuta Torre Gaia was one of the highlights. We stopped for the night on the way from Puglia to Rome and felt that we really lucked out with our choice. We arrived just in time to join a wine tasting and tour of the wine cellar - their wines are excellent! The food is also fantastic - both our dinner and breakfast were incredible.
- Nigel (10/5): Two night stopover - Stopped here for two nights en route from Rome to Puglia. Staff very helpful and friendly most speaking good English. Beautiful property surrounded by vineyard about a mile up a lane from the town of Dugenta through their vineyard. Limited but tasty evening menu. Excellent extensive breakfast. Lovely pool with ample comfortable shaded sofas and loungers. Obviously a popular wedding venue for which there a separate facilities. There was a wedding in progress during our stay which did not impinge on residents' amenities and the spectacle added to our overall experience. The management accept that this is not a 5* offering but it is certainly very comfortable and I would suggest good value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Luxury stay at bargain price - Beautiful property.excellent staff. Lovely food in restaurant followed by table service breakfast of excellent quality.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel in beautiful surroundings - The swimming pool was good and the food was lovely, good extra touches like complimentary welcome drinks from their own vineyards and the staff were very attentive
- Eleanor (10/5): Stunning vineyard, first class hospitality & food - I can not praise Torre Gaia enough. The grounds and buildings have been very recently renovated to 5 star standards and the food is that of a world class chef. Nello, property manage of the vineyard, was beyond kind and welcoming making sure we had all we needed at our finger tips. If you are in the Naples area, it is a must do, only 40 minutes from the airport but a world away from the hustle of the city. We will be back!!!
