Berta (2/5): - was very cold the air condition didn’t work it was no blankets. I used my coat to try sleeping I freeze all the night and wait until the morning. I had to wait for the water to heat up because they didn't turn on the boiler. I arrived in the evening after a day of work from Haifa to Jerusalem and at the end the room was smelly and cold cold cold. I am so disappointed I will never recommend anyone to go there and certainly not me.
S (8/5): - The location can't be beat. It is right across the street from Mahane Yehuda Market. Our apartment faced the street, so it could be noisy, especially at night, but I actually enjoyed seeing and hearing the nightlife. I absolutely loved the location. Cleanliness was so-so. The apartment itself was clean, however the furniture, especially the couch, was not. It was pretty dirty and stained- felt more like a college dorm as far as furniture goes. I also thought the bedding was not very clean. I don't think the blankets or pillows had been washed in awhile, and the sheets were old and worn with pilling. I'm not picky at all with places as long as they are clean, and I had a hard time relaxing on the couch, or the bed. The kitchen was pretty basic, and didn't have all of the utensils or dishes we needed for 3 people, but we managed. The courtyard was nice, and unique. The neighborhood around it was fun to walk around in, and it was close to public transportation. The hosts at the front desk were great- they were very helpful and accommodating, as well as the housekeeping staff. Again, the location is great- especially if you want to be right in the middle of the action at the market and the neighborhood. I would stay here again.

The property is nice on the outside and courtyard but the rooms are not what is shown in the pictures. It is worn down and kinda dirty. The bathtub was absolutely disgusting. We were disappointed since we were at least expecting a clean room and similar to the pictures online.
Tai (4/5): God beliggenhed, men med meget larm og lidt slidt - Først det positive : Indtjekning var hurtig og behagelig, og de mennesker der arbejder der er meget venlige. Beliggenheden er meget central og virkelig god. Lejligheden var i ok stand, havde velfungerende aircondition, og havde de forventede sovepladser. Det negative : Under hele shabbatten fra fredag formiddag til lørdag aften blev gårdhaven indtaget af en stor gruppe på 40-50 mennesker heriblandt 15-20 børn til fejring af shabbat. Der var larm indtil sent fredag aften, og kl. 07.00 lørdag morgen blev vi vækket af børnegråd og larm fra gårdhaven, da den blev anvendt som vuggestue og børnehave for de 15-20 børn. Resten af lørdagen var der igen fest, med højlydt sang fra hele selskabet igen. Det virker helt absurd at man udlejer gårdhaven til en sådan fest og larm, når man har andre gæster på hotellet samtidig. Bemærk i øvrigt at der er en del larm fra byggeri i området fra morgenstunden af, men det kan hotellet selvfølgelig ikke gøre for. Derudover er der temmelig høj musik fra Yehudah marked lørdag aften. Lejligheden var lidt slidt, ligesom møblerne er det. Køkkenudstyr var beskidt, ligesom lejligheden ikke var helt ren. Køleskabet var ikke rengjort, og burde udskiftes, da lågen ikke lukker helt tæt, og fryseren er derfor totalt frosset til, og det man ligger i køleskabet bliver derfor frossent, selvom man har max. temp. i køleskabet. Bemærk at der ikke er nogen dør til soveværelserne, og lejligheden er derfor helt åben. Man kunne med fordel indsætte skydedør ect.
Mark (10/5): Comfortable and central - This place is so well located, right in the action across the street from Mechane Yehudah. I requested a quiet room so had to carry our suitcases up 3 flights of stairs but it was worth it! And I liked the authenticity of the old building in Jerusalem stone and our cute balcony overlooking the residential lanes at the back. Totally cute! Suite was dated but comfortable and staff super friendly and helpful. Loved our stay!

If i’d knew that I would have never stayed. They only clean if you ask, so is kind of not great. The area is good for food. They dont have a person on site 24 hrs. That sucks.

Anna (10/5): - We were visiting for the holidays and from the beginning everything was a WOW! The location is across from the Shuk but somehow Not noisy. The staff is exceptional both courteous and professional. The facilities are perfect and rooms feel like home. This is bu far the best hotel I have stayed at in Israel as far as customer service goes and if you're from the US you will feel right at home. I cannot recommend this hotel more!

El hotel es sucio , las personas que atienden son tremendamente hostiles , la verdad no entiendo las buenas calificaciones de este hotel , es por lejos lo peor donde me he hospedado . Lo que si la ubicación es buena , justo al frente del mercado . Ademas de eso nada mas . Los muebles se estan cayendo y yo no tuve ni siquiera agua caliente . Nefasto .
Frances (6/5): - Property was centralized, its in front of a major market named Machaneh Yehudah Market which is full of retail and food stores BUT....Please note, this is NOT a hotel, its an apartment and people live there. There are no elevators and 4 floors. There was no one in the office when we arrived and had to call and wait Pretty annoying and scary after a 12 hour flight. It was 7pm when we arrived. We had to wait in an alley for over 15 mins as the entrance is in the back ally. Also, Shabbat is celebrated on Fridays in the middle of the courtyard by the tenants so expect a few hours of singing and celebrating. We didn't mind it, but some may. The most disgusting part where the bed sheets and towels. They were dirty even when we asked for new ones. They are full of stains and dark marks which was repulsive. We where grossed out. Besides the location which was a positive, I would not stay here again. There are several Hotels in the area.

Catherine (6/5): Nice - The rooms were third floor walk up- there was no place to unpack the luggage from the car without blocking traffic on a narrow cobblestone street- cars behind us started a riot because we were trying to unload. It was very stressful. The ceilings are angled and limit the headspace. The sheets were pilled and bumpy- scratchy on the skin. There was a door in the room to a utility closet that was full of empty water bottles. The best thing about the stay was the view and the balcony- although one of our three rooms could not open balcony door at all. The interior of courtyard is very pretty. But no breakfast is available and because of the parking situation I would not stay here again. The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. They helped carry our bags up three flights of stairs and very very friendly.

Juan (2/5): - One of the filthiest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in my life, and I sleep in hotels 90 nights a year on average. First, the check in person was rude and discriminating as he stopped checking me in as soon as a pretty girl walks in and wants to check in speaking Hebrew... nice. Then when I finally arrive to the room, the floor is super filthy with dirt stains from others shoes. The light switches are GRIMMY, the bathroom is a mess and the worst... bed bugs.. and I have the pictures to show this. I asked for another room and the new reception person and her bad attitude complies while after inspecting the previous room and saying it is clean, that is the standard in this hellhole. The new room seems cleaner but... hairs on the most likely not replaced bedding ..... too late to change, slept one night fully clothed with my day clothes. Tossed them out and got the hell out of this place to a cleaner hotel... of course no refund for my unused night in this dump... stay away!

Great location - directly above the market - great for quick lunch, coffee, pubs, any other thing you can think of buying there (fruit, meet or whatever). The employees are very pleasant and helpful. Verified traveler (10/5): - I very much appreciate having a good-sized self contained flat that is so central (just across the street from Mahane Yehuda) and in such an interesting neighbourhood. The proprietors are friendly and as the accommodation is apartment-like just leave you to your own devices. The flat itself is very slightly run down, but very neat and tidy. It was excellent value for money and I would be happy to stay here again. Be warned though there is no lift and one might need to go up three flights of stairs to get to a room.

Le revers de la médaille c’est le bruit jusque tard dans la nuit. Emplacement parfait pour les visites de la ville, à une vingtaine de mn à pied ou à 2 arrêts de tram de la vieille ville. Studio fonctionnel bien aménagé (absence de micro onde mais petit four traditionnel). Réceptionnistes serviables. Un endroit à recommander fortement pour ceux que le bruit n’effraie pas.

Stepan (10/5): Perfect location beside the Mahane Yehuda Market - If You look for an appartment with cooking facilities then this is the place. Right next to it is Mahane Yehuda market, the busiest market in Jerusalem with overwhelming offer of fresh vegetebles, fruits, fish, nuts, cheeses or bread. Just pick and bring it "home" to cook something out of it. Surrounding the hotel is an the old Jewish quarter Nakhla´ot full of small alleys and synagogues. I recommned to ask for a "quiet side" room beforehand, the "market side" can be too busy. For party like people: the Market transforms by the evening into extremely busy party venue full of small pubs, eateries and bars. Amazing!

Kru (4/5): - We booked this place as the reviews were good but we're very disappointed. It's 4c outside and our heat didn't work. No one on staff available and they didn't respond to phone calls or messages. We could see our breath in the room which made for a very cold, sleepless night. On top of that the room was dirty and the floor seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The bathroom drain didn't work thus our showers had to be extremely short to avoid flooding. A few other people were also having issues and couldn't get a hold of anyone for help. Maybe this was a one off but I can't recommend this place based on the experience we and others had.

We showed him our bank statement but he practically asked us to pay this huge amount of £250+ a second time and then claim it back from hotels.com. It was a bad experience. Thankfully we could call hotel.com and they spoke in length and got this fixed. So please ensure you have contacted your agent about payment or it will be a stressful experience with the receptionist forcing you to pay a second time. The rooms were not cleaned during our 4 nights of stay. They however provided some towels. The room is good, reasonably clean, sufficient toiletries and refreshments provided. Brand new pans and cuttlery and even washing up sponge provided. Right outside is the market. The place is safe although the streets of Jerusalem are extremely unkept, unhygienic and untidy and the market outside is the worst, wears the crown. The sight was a total turn off that we never bought anything from the market. But it is a lively place, so we did pay a visit to the market. There is public transport right outside which takes you to the central bus station. But I would strongly recommend that you do not stay in this area anywhere on Friday or Saturday as during sabbath, everything will be shut, no transport and you would be stuck there. If you stayed in the old city, it would be lively all 7 days and all the tourist area is in the old city.

Laura (10/5): Great Suite, Great Location, Great Staff - Booked a suite with 2 rooms--one for me and one for my my adult son. It was comfortable and spacious, with a kitchen, table, sitting area, and 2 balconies. A family of 5 with younger children would be quite comfortable there, as well. Our reservation was for 3 nights. The first night and day were perfect. On the second night, loud construction started unexpectedly on the roof of the shuk (marketplace) right across the street and lasted from just after midnight to just before 6 am. (Apparently, whoever granted the construction permit figured that was better to rebuild the roof overnight than to disrupt the marketplace during the day and neighborhood dining establishments in the evening.) The hotel had not been forewarned about the construction and they were as surprised as we were. They made some calls and learned it would continue for 10 nights. They were very understanding and apologetic; they allowed me to cancel out of the last night and issued a refund for it. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Verified traveler (6/5): Mixed feelings - We really wanted to like this place. Cons: parking suck, you pay lots of money to park far away and very inconvenient to walk on the narrow awfuly crowded street with kids and suitcases, bags etc. The rooms are basic but equipped with the needed however walls are paper thin and you can hear the sounds from the next rooms and the outside world. These cons where not a deal breaker to us but the awfulness feeling of not sleeping for 2 night (the length of our stay there) due to horrible construction work being held all night long just opposite the hotel, on the market rooftop. Horrible!! Staff didn’t believe us at first so we had to record that on our phones and present it to them to really get their attention. Pros: The place is authentic, unique very special and that’s the kind of places we like to choose. The person working there was very attentive and apologetic once he realized we are not just complaining but he couldn’t do much even though he made an effort and we saw he made lots of phone calls and tried to figure it out. To make a long story short, not suitable for families with young kids, or light sleepers and if you book it make sure construction work is over. Other then that it is a great potential place and they try hard to make it cost effective. we probably won’t go back because paying so much money for not sleeping is not our cup of tea.
Dennis (10/5): Ideally placed Apartment all of Jerusalem. - Excellent value. Comfortable apartment with A/C that works! Ideally situated to see Jerusalem 1 minute walk to the extensive Market and a 3 min walk to the Tram. Easily walkable to the Old City if you prefer. Apartment very clean and generally well equipped. Only criticism was there were no glasses - sorted after a quick chat with the helpful staff. Has a table top oven/grill rather than a Microwave. However these were only minor details that did not affect our stay. Emptied the Apartment dustbin everyday and provided fresh towels, even on Shabbat!

Kelle (4/5): Disappointing staff and room; good location - The only thing going for this hotel is its location--right next to the Yehuda Market in Jerusalem. However, this should be cautioned because of the noise/activity late at night. Otherwise, the only cleaning which took place in our room over a period of five days was taking out the trash. We had to request new towels twice--because they were never replaced, and had to ask for toilet paper (3x!) before it was given. Even then, it was handed over begrudgingly. The hotel is a great location depending on your preferences, but certainly not somewhere I would stay again.
William (10/5): A Great Place to Stay - We just returned home from Jerusalem and 9 nights at the Market Courtyard Suites... this truly was our home away from home - centrally located to everywhere we wanted to go ( we walked everywhere) and right in the mix of the neighborhood culture. The staff is engaging and helpful - a real partner during our stay. The Market Courtyard is well cared for and maintained, safe & secure (maybe a bit noisy from across the street at the Shuk some nights) but a great place to be your base for your Jerusalem adventures. Thanks to all at the Market Courtyard for making our stay so effortless.

Janet (10/5): Loved our apartment - I was in Jerusalem for a conference, and to visit friends. I love the area of mahane yehuda, also this was close to the conference location. The staff at Market Courtyard was exceptional. Can't say enough about how accommodating they were. If they happened to not be in the office, they were readily available by phone, and offered to come by for any assistance needed. We had a nice apartment, located on a corner so we had two balconies. It was a great location! The market was right there, so we could purchase whatever we wanted for our apartment meals.
carl (8/5): Great place with Character - Super staff. Not the place to go if you are a light sleeper. The perfect place to go if you want to be in the action. Parking is a nightmare - but that is everywhere in Jerusalem.
Sandra (10/5): Convenient & exciting location. - Loved the hotel. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. You can walk everywhere from the location. Only about a half hour walk to old Jerusalem. The character of the place was wonderful. The floors and bathroom could have been cleaner and the door locks should be modernized. The market turns into a party place at night and it can get pretty loud. We were so tired after each day of walking that the noise didn't bother us as much as expected.

If you want a huge typical Israeli breakfast, you won't get anything here. But you can go across the road to the market and taste the best coffee, cakes, bread, fruit, savouries in all Israel and i n an atmosphere second to none. If you want pure luxury, you won't get it it here..but you can almost feel Old Israel The Beautiful in the courtyards, gardens and alleys. Go quickly, before the area succumbs to modernisers .

Gershom K S (8/5): Close to downtown Jerusalem - The hotel is in the middle of a busy area, so expect noises through the night. It's a nice walk (about 15 min) from Jaffa Gate of the old city, and along the way are quite a few restaurants.
David (10/5): Excellent location with view and tradition - Hotel is located next to Jerusalem’s wild market (the ‘shouk’) which heaves with humanity’s best and worst especially on Thursday and Friday. Rooms facing the shouk have an inevitable noise problem, but there are many rooms facing the other way with grat view if you are on top floor. Staff very nice.
Jose Oswaldo (6/5): Nice and Convenient Hotel. - The hotel is close to the Old City and convenient for stay since it is cost friendly. The rooms were good size yet the cleaning was not done daily. I suggest cleaning must be done daily as part of the service, as well as the provision of the bathrrom ammenities. In our stay we just got ammenities one time. The other big plus of this hotel is their staff which is helpful and friendly... Eden always exceded in her kind and helpful services. Definitely a place to return and stay when visiting Jerusalem.
Igor (8/5): Solid B- for service, but GREAT location. - Great location and good room, great internal courtyard. However, service isn't that great - trash was taken out only 2 times during our 6 night stay, sheets were not changed at all for all 6 nights, we had to ask to get fresh towels every other day, coffee and sugar were not refilled in the kitchen and once I had to run down 4 (four) times to the office to get some sugar and tea, since no one was in the office. No microwave, only old toaster-oven with no manual. Good supply of kitchenware, and very quiet hotel. But you can't drive up to hotel to unload your heavy luggage, as the street is pedestrian and directions given are completely not the best way to get to the hotel - there lead you all around extremely narrow 3 streets to a point that is as far as if you would just stop at the bus stop on the nearest major street. Weak WiFi, with no repair request honored, so we had to go outside of the room down to courtyard to get some different signal. They "forgot" to call for taxi for us, for our extremely important appointment, or mixed up time... Generally - solid B-.

When the staff found out that we don't leave to the airport until one am, they let us to stay in the same room with much lower room rate that day. Margaret (8/5): Jerusalem Suites - The accommodations were simply clean and comfortable, the hotel's staff was absolutely fabulous! (I'd give them a 10 if I could.) When the weather wouldn't allow for our anticipated trip to Eilat/Petra (we worried about flash flooding in the desert), the hotel extended our stay, assisted with our cancellations, and obtained reservations for other activities. I can't thank them enough.
Arni Jane (10/5): - I went to Jerusalem by myself and I felt safe the entire time I was there. The employees were very friendly and helpful. When I had questions they were nice enough to answer. When I needed directions, they helped me out. Because I couldn't read Hebrew, they helped me read the directions from my phone. I stayed in a one bedroom unit. It was really spacious. I liked that the hotel was located near a market and not far from the old city. The hotel has a bus stop right in front and a light rail station a block away.

olga (10/5): Very comfortable hotel in the center of the city. - This hotel is everything you need for a very reasonable price. Staff is excellent and very accommodating to your every need. They really make you feel at home. Location is in the center of the city near transportation and famous Yahuda market. We would definitely stay again when we return to Jerusalem.
Mike (10/5): Great location rite next to the "shuk" marketplace - It's location is great next to the "shuk" or Mehane Yehuda marketplace full of food stalls. It is also one block away from Jerusalem's very modern street car system. Ask Shlomo of the Market Courtyard staff to direct you to Marzipan's for the best rugelach you will ever have! Ask him also about this restaurant: סטקיית חצות It is a little ways down from the "shuk" and is where the Israelis go for dinner. On the way to the restaurant, there is also a good "shwarma" place on the left just across from the shuk. Shwarma is like a giant chicken burrito. It is very good and filling. Everyone speaks English so just let them know that is what you prefer. The area is very safe and I walked around by myself many nights with no problems. The shuk at night turns into little bars and pubs where many Israelis go to for socializing. No noise problems for me.
Amy (10/5): Wonderful place to stay in great location - The building itself was adorable, quaint and in a great location (right across the street from yehuda market). We had a one bedroom on the third floor - it was very clean and nice with 2 twin beds, a couch, a patio and kitchen area with fridge, toaster (great for toasting pita bread), utencils, plates, etc.. (even a cork opener which was great). Everything is pretty self explanatory and easy to access even when there is no one at the front desk. Dina at the front desk was very helpful with arranging transportation to the Tel Aviv airport, which was about 45 minutes away. The market was across the street, and we were within walking distance to great restaurants, pedestrian malls and bars. We also walked to the Old City, though that probably was about at least a 30 minute walk. I would come back and stay here in a heartbeat. Here are some helpful tips: 1) there are three floors and there is no elevator so I had to haul my luggage up three flights of steps 2) the housekeeping I think is once a week so no one takes out the garbage or cleans your room 3) bring your own bathroom toiletries 4) read the instruction paper in the room re hot water.
DECENT FOR SHORT STAY (6/5): About 40 min walk from the Old City - VERY FRIENDLY. THE LOCATION WAS A LITTLE FURTHER THEN EXPECTED. A VERY HOME LIKE FEEL. THE A/C WAS A ISSUE. IT ONLY COOLS THE LIVING ROOM AREA. UPSTAIRS WAS LIKE A SAUNA AND THE OTHER BEDROOM WAS ABOUT 78 DEGREES. THE HOT WATER HEATER WAS A LITTLE ISSUE. HAD TO TURN ON EVERY TIME 20 MIN BEFORE SHOWERING. ALSO THERE IS NO ELEVATOR. BUT THE PLACE IS VERY CUTE AND FOR A SHORT STAY GOOD.

Jay (8/5): not your typical accommodation, but it was great - no breakfast, no daily linen service, but it worked great for us. location was very convenient-right across Mahane Yehuda market, close to light rail station and 2-3 stops from the Old City, close to central bus station, etc. the place was clean, cozy and felt secure; we stayed there for four nights and enjoyed it very much.
