Guest Reviews
- Ariane (5/5): Go there if low price is your priority - Convenient location on the main road and great value. Free breakfast. Great family room. Staff was great and kind. The noise from other guests is terrible you must wear ear plugs. Next to the laundry room it was worse with the noise of the machines. They had no crib even when we had requested it. Our 18mo old had to sleep in a queen bed, felt super unsafe.
- Tanya (7/5): - Friendly staff-neat and clean rooms.
- Luisa (8/5): -
- Mayra (8/5): It was a decent stay. - Decent hotel comfortable the traffic noise wasn’t that bad the rooms can need a little more cleaning. The restroom in our room the shower was dirty and the towels were not all that clean either.
- RoadGuys2 (4/5): Not cozy - We got the last room so I'm not going to complain much. However, the room was bare with bright ceiling lights, no bedside lamp, the room was lit up like a cafeteria. Even if it were hot outside the room would feel cold and uninviting.
Breakfast was poor. Not much better than nothing at all. No protein options, not even a boiled egg.
- Michael (9/5): -
- Jon (9/5): Great -
- Steven (10/5): -
- Crystal (10/5): - The staff was friendly very clean
- Shahed (1/5): Not a real hotel - actually a motel. - Good location This is called a hotel but is actually a motel. It was noisy all night as people come and go in their cars. People sitting in their trucks in the car park make you feel uneasy. Overall not what we were expecting from a Best Western Hotel.
- Ted (8/5): - Well located. Generally, a standard value priced motel, except it was more expensive than value priced motel typically is. I liked being able to drive right up to the room.
- Pete (10/5): Good, clean and affordable place to stay. - it was very easy to find and had adequate parking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
- Bernadine (8/5): -
- Yanette (10/5): -
- Donna Gail (8/5): Nice, clean hotel right off the highway - Location is next to the highway which was convenient. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and nicely updated and clean. Nice to have a coffee pot, small fridge and microwave in the room. Breakfast was served to accommodate early departure schedules; 6am-9am. I prefer interior entrances to rooms verses exterior. Just a preference which did not affect the nice, spacious and clean rooms they offer. The concrete steps were not even and my shoes seem to stick to the concrete and I actually tripped going up. Without me mentioning my fall, my husband said his shoes were sticking to the concrete and thought maybe it was just the surface. Later he noticed they weren't the same height that may have contributed to the sticking surface. I noticed someone else before us had spilt coffee going up the stairs, who probably tripped, as well. You could hear highway noise, but we were able to muffle it a bit keeping the fan running all night. Breakfast was a little light. Not much is the way of gluten free except for bananas and apples. There was flavored yogurt (lots of sugar if it's not plain), 2 cereals to choose from, oatmeal, waffles, pastries and toast. Loads of bad carbs, if you can eat those kinds of foods. I thought the total price paid $150 was a little high for this hotel. There were nice options nearby but those hotels were already booked up.
- Smith (1/5): -
- Robert (5/5): -
- Lani (10/5): -
- Janice (6/5): - Rooms were clean and comfortable, pets allowed and less expensive pet fee than other options It was motel, not hotel. Didn't like having to walk across dark parking area to get to front office and breakfast. If I had been alone, would not have felt safe. Breakfast was bare basics.
- Anita (1/5): Will never stay there again, but Christina was an absolute breath of fresh air. - Staff was so attentive and respectful The noise was unbearable all night, slamming doors, the smell of weed was awful and we got no sleep
- Ervin (8/5): -
- lisa (5/5): - Roomy Fact that pet fee was to expensive especially for well behaved animals
- Jennifer (2/5): Sucks - Had dog barking in room next to us until after midnight. Clerk said dog belonged to employee. Clerk refused to do anything about it until I called three times. Complained to manager next day, he just stood and looked at me. Will not stay there again!
- Jim (8/5): - Parking good.
Very limited breakfast
Room clean and new
- ROBERT (8/5): - Place has been refurbished with new lighting, new bathroom, new flooring and nice flat screen tv. Bed was good also. Will stay here again.l
- Victor (8/5): - Healthy breakfast
- Anne (10/5): - Excellent parking, very nice personnel and breakfast was very nicely put out. Would defray here again. Great price too!
- Annette (10/5): - Breakfast was great, clean rooms, ice machine was awesome
- Siina (10/5): - Clean, staff was friendly
- LynninNM (6/5): This is a 2-story motel, not a hotel. No elevator, just outside stairs! - I initially requested a king bed rooms. We arrive only to find that all “king rooms” are on the second floor with no elevator, ONLY AN OUTSIDE STAIR! At 81 years old my husband can not easily climb stairs, let alone carry a suitcase up and done one! But the front desk gave us such a hard time about insisting on a ground floor room. And then insisting we pay more for the change! Warning: demand specific information when making your reservations! The #4 double queen first floor room we finally got was large, and very clean, although somewhat spare with amenities. The room’s air conditioning system kept changing sounds throughout the night, waking my husband up many times, he complained. Would we stay there again? No. And, we did not stay for their free breakfast so I can’t comment on that.
- Shawna (10/5): - Customer Service was excellent!
- Jesse (10/5): - Staff was beyond amazing and very helpful and friendly.
- Penni (4/5): Would not stay again - Front desk person asked if I had a pet and I told her yes, I was traveling with my dog. She then proceeded to tell me about the pet fee, which is fine, I expect this. But then she threatens me that if they find that I have more than one pet they will charge me additional fees and more fees if there is any damages from my pet. I felt very uncomfortable during the check in process because of all of these threats. I travel all the time with my dog and I have never been given so much details of the fees they might charge. It was excessive.
The room was marginal at best. Grimy shower, hair & debris behind the door in the bathroom and super uncomfortable bed. 100% would not stay here again.
- Deborah (10/5): - Friendly staff.
Large rooms.
- Farresa (7/5): - The lights especially the bedside lights were way bright. Yes. Normally bright lighting is a good thing. But if I wanted to read while my family slept, it was not possible. Maybe dim the bedside lights
- Bridges (9/5): - Clean rooms. Like the privacy shades in rooms. No curtains to keep shut. Could hear outside noise. But slept well.
- Judith (8/5): - Wasn’t prepared for aBest Western property to be just average and not have inside access to rooms. I don’t like having cars parked outside my window.
- Brandon (10/5): - Nice clean place. Love the rain shower and quality shampoo and soaps. Comfy bed with plenty of pillows. Good tv channels. Perfect stay. Thank you Best Western!
- christine (10/5): - Great
- Sheila (10/5): -
- Barnes (1/5): - We booked the night when we got there they didn't have any more rooms for pets apparently they only have two rooms which is crazy.
- Linda (6/5): - Room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Some unsavory characters in the area. Seemed run down. Just an overnight so was fine. Reasonable price.
- candise (10/5): - Very comfortable!
- Williams (10/5): -
- Charles (7/5): - Room had easy access from our parking spot since all room doors opened to the outside. The upholstered chair in our room was worn and very dirty. The bedspread had a few stains on it. The access to the toilet and shower was a tight squeeze. Bed was very high and hard to get into for me.
- Joseph (4/5): -
- JoeHiking (2/5): Good luck if you decide to stay here. - The first thing to mention is that this is not a hotel it is an old, poorly updated motel.
The room was mostly clean but loaded with bugs. We had to dispose of half a dozen bugs when we arrived and several more throughout our stay. It is also very difficult to sleep when there is a very loud cricket in the room.
- Lawrence (6/5): - Convenient to food, gas and hwy access, but lacks ‘bang for the buck’, so to speak.
- Staci (10/5): - The pillows were the best pillows we have ever had at a hotel!
- Andrea (9/5): - It was clean. Couldn't get a first floor room, and as seniors, lugging heavy suitcases up two flights of stairs is " more than a notion"
- Johnson (1/5): Would never stay here again. - Staff was nice Room was dirty, room was 95 degrees when we walked in and took all night to cool off. Beds uncomfortable
- Michael (8/5): -
- Thomas (8/5): Pleasantly Surprised! - I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room was clean, bed was comfortable! I like that the floor was vinyl!
- Laura (5/5): Passable -
- Clare (8/5): - We stayed here for one night and thought it was very comfortable. The front desk people were nice and offered a couple of dinner suggestions that turned out to being really good. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were hard, so if you like a softer bed, this isn't it. We didn't have breakfast, but it looked like the standard of waffle, cereal, and bakery items. We would definitely stay again.
- Roberta (8/5): Highway 287 trip - Very good location. Room was bare bones but spotless. Comfy bed and the rain shower head was great! Nice bath products provided. The door was almost impossible to open both from the inside and outside.
- Leatrix (10/5): Overall, it was a good experience. I would stay here again.I would stay here again. - Convenience of getting off on the interstate I woke up this morning to crickets all over the floor. No blow dryer.
- Sammy (9/5): Superb -
- Tarquain (5/5): Decent - Cleaning crew is awesome Breakfast is no bueno
- Tracy (9/5): Superb -
- Jacob (10/5): - Great
- Keyurvan (10/5): - very Spacious recently renewed rooms. Clean, Convenient location just off the h/w 287. Good value for money for one night travel stop. One area needs addressing ie un-even stairs to 2nd floor.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Tues. in Childress - Original roomTV did not work. We were moved to handicap room so there was not counter space in bathroom. At 7:30 am, someone tried to enter our room and was kicking the door. I saw three dead bugs in the morning and did not look for more. Brfeakfast was ok.
- Mary (8/5): Very good - Courteous staff. Continental breakfast. Pool Room service did not come to change out towels or take out trash.
- Londa (10/5): - Nice friendly
- Krista (4/5): - We ended up leaving at midnight and just continued on our drive because we couldn’t sleep. I’m guessing it was housekeeping rolling carts upstairs that we could hear. The floors were FILTHY. My crawling baby’s legs were black within minutes of being there.
- Harry (4/5): Disappointing -
- Patti (10/5): Would stay again - We got a suite with a king bed and 2 queens. Excellent, fantastic and spacious rooms for the price, we were pleasantly surprised. Very clean and beds were comfortable. Small bathroom but that's not a huge deal.
We have a service animal and at first the front desk wasn't sure she could give us our room because it wasn't a "pet friendly" room, but she called her manager who assured her to give us the room anyway. Very kind throughout the process and didn't have any issues.
Free breakfast is always a plus with 3 kids. Morning staff was very kind also. No issues
- Vigil (8/5): It was good enough for a quick stay. - Clean No gym
- Verified traveler (2/5): Use caution - Very dirty rooms, bathroom had mold in the shower, appeared to be water leakage on the ceiling, bugs on the floor, smell in the room, hard bed, the sheets felt like plastic, dirty towels, air conditioner made noises all night and ice machine was broken and nasty.
- Smith (6/5): Pleasant -
- SecretServiceReview (4/5): Skip if possible. Highway noises. - Possible 2 way mirror as it looks suspicious. Run down hotel. Leave minimal towels (not enough), remote not working, loud uncontrolled party guests, and not all that clean. Door knows and light switches filthy.
- Pa Nhia Lee (6/5): - The lady work in the front desk s friendly. The thing I don’t like is that the room they give me I was having hard time to open the door and found a few buds inside the hotel room.
- Marcos (4/5): - I one place to sleep well to much noisy
- Sherlyn (10/5): Worked for a 1 night stay between major cities! - Nice room, good breakfast! Everything was fine.
- Reese (3/5): Poor - The bed was very uncomfortable and I killed 2 roaches in my room. I was so exhausted from driving g all day I didn't have the energy to let the desk know and I had to leave extremely early.
- Crysti (6/5): - Had to return to my room after breakfast because there was no bathroom available in the lobby/ dining area.
- Bradley (7/5): Good - Not much to choose from for breakfast. Walk in was very slippery and the way it was designed there was no shower door which caused the floor to get soaked, water pressure was too high which contributed to the floor getting soaked.
- Agustin (6/5): Pleasant - Wasn’t what it was advertised to be.
- Gerald (8/5): The room met my expectations, the breakfast did not. - Breakfast not very good. Not much of a choice A better breakfast would have been nice
- Mark (8/5): - Room had a smell and was noisy
- John (8/5): Very comfortable bed. Room could use lamp(s) for reading. - Very clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. I was under the impression that the $25 was a deposit for our old dog staying in the room with us, Not an up charge. It was not refunded or credited to our card. John D
- Robert (7/5): Good - We were weary travelers and just needed a bed after a long drive. This fit that Bill
- Marietta (9/5): Superb -
- Mariel (6/5): Price and breakfast the only decent parts about this stay. - Breakfast was actually decent. Some apples, yogurt, and waffles. We showed up at 11pm, had called earlier to make sure this was o.k. and assured it was. Showed up to another customer waiting in the lobby, no employee to be found. Called the property multiple times, phone rang and rang. Waited probably 10 minutes before someone showed up and said, oh, phones aren't working. Didn't even apologize for making us wait, and was rude. Plus, rooms could have been cleaner. Dirt and hair on the floors and in bathroom/shower. Didn't feel clean.
- Cheryl (7/5): One Night in Childress - The room was really clean. They gave me a room on the lowest floor. I have mobility issues. The breakfast was fine. You get a little road noise from the busy street in front of the hotel. Otherwise, it was all good!
- Kathleen (1/5): Disgusting - Staff was nice 100 percent different than advertised. Not just a little dirty, extremely disgusting. Rust , dirt marks broken doors and filth all on walls and in vents
- David (7/5): Improvement but still needs work - Most decor was updated. Did see some bad grout. Decent bedding and pillows. The window shades were the best idea I've seen in a long time. All lighting is in ceiling cans. Nothing bed side. The shower stall design is different, but it lets a lot of water out on the bathroom floor.
The door did not fit correctly. The door would stick on the frame when closing.
- Henry (3/5): Noisy, did not feel safe. - Breakfast was marginal. No eggs, no boiled eggs like picture. Lacking protein. Room was run down. Bed was okay. Furniture was old. Room poorly painted. Toilet rocked. Was not mounted proerly. Appeared bathroom was remodeled but not by skilled labor. Shower leaked.
- Sherwin (6/5): Okay - Ok just a little noisy!!!!!!
- Laura (10/5): Great shower - The water pressure in the shower was wonderful!
Really clean room
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Marcus (6/5): Shower wasn’t clean at all. Body wash was empty. Bathroom floor was nasty -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was very loud overall between the vehicles outside and all the noises inside. The bed wasn’t very comfortable either.
- Andrew (4/5): Disappointing - Lobby, bed Breakfast was terrible, room wS bland, but for the price it was a disappointment
- John (8/5): Great value. Comfortable room - I really liked the new flooring. No carpet. All wood tile. Very clean. Easy access off of us hey 287
- Robert (5/5): Could have been better - They switched our rooms after we noticed insects in the first one The kitchen was deficient; lack of food available
- Steve (9/5): Superb -
- Jerry (4/5): Won’t stay here again - Bedding was stained. Bath towel was stained. Hand towel was still damp. Table top was dirty.
- Marie (10/5): - Wish I had atyb but needed the fridge
