• Sandy (9/5): Over-all it was a nice stay. - Hotel was easy to find; check-in was easy; staff were friendly and helpful; room was clean; breakfast food other than oatmeal was good. We enjoyed the pool and it was nice that they had beach balls to play with. It got really cold during the night, but this is probably on me. Because it was comfortable at check-in up to going to bed, I didn't think to check the thermostat. During the middle of the night, I woke freezing and I was already using the only blanket. Oatmeal was not cooked correctly (cover should have been left on so it could steam the oatmeal) so it was runny and undercooked.

• Christine (8/5): Despite a small hiccup, would stay again - Location convenient Property was clean Bed comfortable Property was fine, however I stopped by around 1:00 pm hoping for an early check-in but a room wasn’t yet available, but would be at 3:00. Fine. I asked for a 1st floor room not far from the lobby. No problem - come at 3:00. Arrived at 3:30 - no room ready on the 1st floor.

I wasn't aware of the mini kitchen, the ability to rent appliances, which is awesome. Everything about it was outstanding. See you soon.

Really sweet and welcoming and unexpected. The front desk was super friendly and helpful. Nice to have breakfast as an option. Great Job! Would definitely stay again.

Breakfast was a little sparse, thought the attendant was so kind. Nice to have coffee, tea and water available , as well as laundry and nice indoor pool. Would def stay again and hope for bolder coffee and more breakfast items stocked. As we were leaving, we were offered a root beer float!!! What an ice touch and treat! Will stay again.

We had zero issues upon arrival and got to chat with the front desk attendant to find out about all the things to do nearby. Our room was the perfect size for our weekend stay. There is so many places and things to do in the Ann Arbor area so I would definitely recommend this hotel. Will be staying here again!

• X1315MKbillk (10/5): Thoughtfully designed & equipped rooms - Our recent trip to Ann Arbor was made all the more pleasant by our stay at TownePlace Suites. Our only regret is that the hotel's popularity caused us to have to stay elsewhere for part of our visit. We'd have preferred to stay there the entire time. We think TownePlace has the most thoughtfully designed guest rooms we have experienced. The working kitchen and, especially, the full refrigerator are particularly useful. Another feature we enjoy is the moveable table, at an excellent height for computer use, which is exceptionally convenient for work that needs to be completed while traveling. Plus the comfortable beds--always important. These amenities, plus the friendly, welcoming atmosphere created by the staff, make TownePlace Suites in Ann Arbor our first choice when we travel. • Trey (6/5): Stay at the Hilton across the parking lot instead. - I stayed at this hotel last night and I am rather disappointed in the experience. The room they had available said two queen beds I was traveling with someone so it sounded like a perfect fit for the night. Upon entering the room the beds did not appear to be Queen sized beds. Out of curiosity I used my phone to measure the beds then went on the good old google and did some research. This hotel had us in Full beds and not queens. Upon learning this I brought it up to the front desk. Instead of apologizing, instead of trying to make things right the front desk clerk got rude with me telling me that they don’t have any full sized beds in the hotel so I was immediately wrong. In addition to the beds not being true to size the room was beat up and not the cleanest. The bathrooms weren’t the cleanest and there were quite a few mix matches areas of paint due to all of the repairs that had been made to the walls and ceiling. However the location was nice it was close to many amenities including restaurants and the briarwood mall. I would definitely stay in the area again just not at this hotel. Parking was pretty tight as well so if you have a truck you may have issues with parking. Thankfully for me hotels.com helped make things right with this trip but the hotel itself didn’t make any effort to right the situation. Personally I don’t think this hotel is even close to being a 3 star hotel.

• nickelcitygirl (8/5): Had a good stay after a few room changes! - Our stay here didn’t have the best start, but things got sorted out! Our first room on the second floor smelled awful, like a really bad cooking smell, so we got moved to another room on the same floor. We just got settled in that room when we noticed some bugs on the window that looked like ladybugs but then we saw there were over a dozen of them on the wall and near the ceiling plus one was crawling around on the lamp. We called the office and got moved again, this time to a room on the fourth floor, which they said was an upgrade. They apologized! I had a number of trips up and down to the desk to get keys and return keys! Our newest room (our third) had a separate bedroom with a king sized bed and a kitchen. The first two rooms had two queen sized beds and a kitchen. No one from housekeeping came to clean our room; not sure if someone was supposed to or not, as nothing was said at check in about how often housekeeping happened. The paper products were all fancied up with bows, etc. Reminded me of what you see with towels at a resort! You can hear the traffic sounds from the highway, but the hotel itself is very quiet. The fan in our room was noisy, though, when it was on the cooling system. Didn’t see any recycling. Breakfast was included. There were a few hot items that were changed up daily plus there was yogurt, cereal, breads, and fresh fruit available. The juice machine wasn’t working during our stay. This hotel is across from the Briarwood Mall.

• CartersvilleJason (6/5): Poor sleep due to highway noise and no sound insulation - In January, I was at the TownePlace Suites Ann Arbor for 2 weeks due to a business trip in Ann Arbor. My experience: Pros: + The staff were all awesome and deserve a raise. Each and every person I encountered (front desk, breakfast, management) were super helpful. + The breakfast was on the nicer end of what you would expect from a TownePlace. And as a road warrior who has stayed at his fair share of undesirable TownePlace's, this means something. + WiFi speeds were capable for work. Cons: - The property needs a refresh. Rooms are dated. Pillows are old and need to be replaced. - The hotel is very poorly sound insulated. Which is a massive problem because of how close it is to the highway. From the rooms, you can throw a baseball and hit a car on the highway. All night long, I could hear trucks passing by and it was brutal. Even with ear plugs and a noise machine, I was kept awake all night by how loud it was.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Had higher expectations from all the reviews - Stayed for over 10 days. Hot breakfast buffet was the same thing every three days which was mid at best. The free coffee made my wife stop drinking coffee. We started making our own coffee in the room. The cleaning people came once. The heated pool was nice but the temp didn’t stay warm.

• E387YWleslieg (10/5): Best place to stay - I would highly recommend TownePlace Suite Ann Arbor!! We had a wonderful experience with the hotel stay on arrival staff was friendly and helpful. They noticed we were traveling with an infant and provided us with a pack and play to use which was very helpful to make sure we still practice safe sleeping with our baby. Our suite was very clean the kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need for our stay. Beds and pillows were comfy. I enjoyed breakfast downstairs and being greeted by staff and helping using the waffle machine breakfast was absolutely tasty you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to travel through Ann Arbor again we will definitely stay here again.
• lindseybL8472ZG (10/5): Absolutely great stay!!! - I love staying in their 2 bedroom suites! It is like staying in an apartment! You feel so much more at home then a hotel. The employees are great, rooms are clean, has a pool and we had the best breakfast omelets! They had a great free breakfast spread before finding out that they did omelets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. We stayed there the night of Christmas and had that great breakfast the next morning. They made our omelets to order as well. I have stayed here before and will most definitely do it again soon! Thank you everyone there for making it a pleasant stay! Huge shout out to Brandi for being so awesome!!! This was the best stay I have had anywhere in over a year!
• alexsV4132MJ (10/5): Highly recommend - We have stayed at this location multiple times, and my family enjoys it every time. The rooms have always been clean and well kept. The beds are comfortable (even for my husband with an injured back). They are fully stocked with fridge, dishwasher, sink, stove, and microwave in each room, as well as utensils and dishes which make it so convenient! Plus, their provided breakfast is always great with friendly staff always willing to help. My husband, kids of all ages, and I each can find something we like due to the variety, and that’s not too common with picky eaters. We have enjoyed the pool a few times and it’s always clean and even has outdoor seating for added comfort. We visit the Ann Arbor area often, and this will continue to be our first choice. The location is convenient and near by to many activities. I cannot recommend this place enough. You will not be disappointed.

• MI2CA2MA (8/5): Friendly staff differentiates this hotel - This is like many other suite-style hotels, which was all we needed when visiting my mother for a couple of days. Fairly basic, but clean and well-maintained (with everything you really need, though the fitness center is pretty small and thinly equipped). The reason I wanted to take time to write this note is that all three of the reception desk staff with whom we interacted over the course of our stay were super nice and friendly. Almost as if we were somewhere down South... like finding SEC Country hospitality in Ann Arbor!?! Greatly appreciated, we will plan to return on our next visit.

I never checked in and was charged for my stay. Notified Travelocity of this and nothing... Had to escalate to ADA for assistance.

Parking was adequate. Loved that there was a good sense of Michigan football happenings by the staff. Breakfast area was small and made it hard to navigate when crowded. Wish we would have been able tot try out the pool; it looked like maybe they hosted a swimming party one morning?
• Stephanie (7/5): Good - close to mall and u of m for my surgery next day we booked a king suite over a month in advance and when we got there they said we got upgraded to a queen suite. we wanted the king bed and the desk that came in that room so my husband could get some work done on his laptop. That wasnt an upgrade at all to me, more like they gave away our room and that's all they had left
• Lyndon (7/5): Clean and Comfy Suite - The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. We liked the kitchenette, and it was nice that the refrigerator was full-size. The couch was relatively comfortable, and the ottoman with the tray was convenient for eating or sitting drinks. The only downside was the placement of the television, which was on the small side. The breakfast was lacking but there was something you could grab to hold you until you could get a real meal.

When you walk in its very clean and bright and the staff was amazing very friendly and explained everything to me about what they offer and what time everythjng is. My room was nice a big and clean the bed was so comfortable
• johncP2834DU (4/5): As a Marriott Gold Elite member, I was disappointed and disgusted with our stay at the TownePlace Suites in Ann Arbor. - Not only was the room exceedingly noisy from the highway traffic, but the in-room air conditioning unit sporadically rattled throughout the night. Worst of all, between a slowly draining bathtub/shower that yielded filthy ankles and feet every day… and the lack of good sleep during the entire stay, I assure you, the recent extended stay with the Townplace Suites Marriott was, without exception, the worst hotel experience my wife and I have ever experienced, irrespective of ANY hotel brand. The eggs at breakfast were cooked to a point that they were presented as “bricks” of eggs. On two occasions, the waffle batter was mixed incorrectly. In fact, it was bad enough to see the water separated from the batter mix, which made the associated waffles inedible. Our family does not eat beef or pork… for health reasons, not for religious reasons. Yet, there was only bacon, bacon, and bacon provided as breakfast meats. One our third day of our week-long stay at the hotel, as I went downstairs to obtain coffee for my wife and me, I was shocked to see a man sleeping on the landing of the stairs between the third and fourth floors. I was exceedingly glad that I was the one who went to go get the coffee… and not my wife. I could share additional specifics. However, if the aforementioned items are not clear indications that the particular Marriott is not up to par, additional specifics won’t help make the point any clearer.
