Guest Reviews

- Alaster (4/5): - Metal bars on only window. Bed was very hard. Hostel like room. Breakfast was Ok.
- Francis (8/5): - Prachtige ligging van hotel. Inrichting erg mooi.
- francesco (4/5): - Sicuramente struttura vecchia in abbandono camere vecchie e senza manutenzioni
- Attilio (10/5): - Posto comodo e tranquillo qualità prezzo ottimi

- Serge (6/5): - Climatisation bruyante
- Alessia (10/5): - Struttura accogliente personale disponibile
- Ruth (10/5): Excellent Hotel and Service - The welcome ,environment ,service and cuisine were excellent .The whole ambience was relaxing and enjoyable .I would not hesitate to visit this hotel again .
- ken (10/5): Tucked in the forrest 17 minute drive from airport - I wish we could have had longer set in the countryside. They were very obliging we had to leave early in the morning so they gave us some food to take away. There is a restaurant serving some of the best food we havs had in italy.
- lorimJ1537NC (10/5): Family visit - Ca’Vecchia came highly recommended from family who lives in the area. We loved it. The hotel is very charming, quiet and comfortable and feels like you’re staying in a home. Not a lot of frills but it has everything you need. They have a great European style breakfast in the morning and another restaurant on the property. Our experience was great.
- andybristol12555 (6/5): Basic hotel - We were staying at the Ca Vecchia while walking on the Via degli Dei. The hotel is in lovely grounds but the facilities are basic, comprising a bathroom and a relatively old double bed. It is what you got used to if you travelled in Italy thirty years ago and stayed in three star hotels.
The major disappointment is that having arrived at the hotel at around 7 on a Monday evening we discovered that the restaurant is closed on Mondays! This is inconvenient as the walk back to town was more than we wanted to undertake having already walked 20 kilometers during the day. The staff were very kind and cooked frozen pizza for us (washed down with some fine wine), so full marks for the service from the people at the hotel. The breakfast in the morning was OK, but the absence of fresh bread was notable (surely a local bakery could deliver on a Tuesday morning)
- frederick (8/5): Stop-over on way to Rome - We were driving from UK to Rome and booked Ca'Vecchia before we set off, due to its proximity to the A1 autostrada. A little difficult to find but OK if you follow the signs carefully from the main road through Sasso Marconi. Going south, you have to drive past the town then loop back from the next junction.
The hotel is quite an old house - literally - so don't expect it to be modern. The furniture in our room was a random collection of old items, but the bed was comfortable and the room was air-conditioned.
The hotel staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was superb. The other diners seemed to be local people so we had a sense that we were seeing real Italy.
My wife wanted to stay at Ca'Vecchia on our return journey and we would have done but for our decision to head further west towards Torino.
- Werner (8/5): Nice quite place in a beautiful country setting. - Big room, but not very convenient for business.
No english or any other foreign television channels.
Primitive furnishing in bathroom, no space to put your toothbrush or soap in the shower, but clean.
- 913alg (6/5): A Quiet Retreat - We had flown into Florence overnight and were looking for a spot to rest on our drive to Lake Como. Ca Vecchia is about an hour north of Florence, just south of Bologna.
In spite of GPS navigation and directions from the hotel website, we had to ask for directions.
The hotel is located in a nicely treed area and offered what we were most looking for; a quiet retreat. The rooms were spread in several buildings. Our room was large, but relatively sparsely furnished. This was not a problem as we just stayed overnight. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower were satisfactory.
A small problem could have been that the parking area was some distance from the accommodation.
The included breakfast was very good. Served in a sunny breakfast room. There was a good selection of meat, cheese, and bakery goods. There was a particularly good selection of pastries. Of note, was a selection of gluten-free choices.
Another advantage for us was that there is an on-site restaurant at which we had a pleasant dinner.
Overall, Ca Vecchia was just what we were looking for, a quiet, comfortable, reasonably-priced "pit-stop".
- John866 (10/5): Conference venue - Great spot in an arboretum of mature trees, with friendly helpful staff, excellent food, (even breakfast!) large conference facilities, great rooms. Highly recommended. Thank you for taking such good care of us all.
- DigiTraveler (8/5): Hotel surrounded by park - Hotel is hidden in a nice park with the kids playground, in distance from the main street. There is one small and one bigger park places, hotel guests use the small one with a little tricky turn just after the gate.
Small problem for me was to identify what doors are to the reception - it was the second house, where the breakfast is served too.
Friendly reception staff show me a big room with bathroom. It was equipped with nice furniture, air condition and WiFi access. Window shutters are useful as frequent highway and railway are near the hotel, but there was not so noise as from the main street in my Bologna last stay.
Breakfast was of the average quality with excellent Italian espresso.
Good quality keenly priced, suitable solution if you are travelling by car.
