Guest Reviews
- Demi (8/5): Nice place to stay - We had a really pleasant stay at Penryn Guest House. The room and en suit was a nice size, clean and comfortable! It’s within reasonable walking distance to the town centre too. We would definitely stay there again!
- Derek (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay, the perfect spot to explore Stratford on foot as it is a 15 min walk to the city centre, although we though there where not many nice restaurants until we found Sheep Street.
The breakfast was awesome and although they had a stand in for our last day, we had a great omelette before leaving.
The room was as expected, a little tight due to the 3 beds, but there was plenty of towels and amenities, although we have left some towels in the shower after our first night, but they where not replaced as expected.
Overall we would highly recommend this B&B and will book direct next time to save a little money.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Penryn Guest House is clean, well maintained and charming. The owners are gracious and provide and delicious breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our stay was enjoyable but for the length of time we were in Stratford upon Avon, a hotel with other facilities might have been a better choice. The location was really convenient to the centre - approx 15min walk to the centre, but this place is situated on the corner of a road and ground floor rooms look out onto the road (front) and car park (rear). The bed was comfortable and well made, towels etc were clean. Breakfast was well catered and prepared once you arrived at your table.
- Steve (10/5): Outstanding - Had a great weekend, fantastic family ran b&b , very clean, quality breakfast, secure parking, 100% returning
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very comfortable, great breakfast, very helpful and friendly staff.
Even did our washing at nominal price.
- Luckysal (8/5): - Comfortable, clean hotel within walking distance of Stratford-upon-Avon. Good breakfast helpful staff who allowed us to leave our car even after we had checked out. Overall very good value for money.
- Pam (8/5): - Nice guest house situated near Stratford Upon Avon. Friendly staff. Very clean room. Full breakfast options and you get to pick your breakfast time and what you would like to eat the night before. Parking in site as well.
- Peter (10/5): To stay or not to stay? - Comfortable, clean, good-sized room, very good breakfast, 15 - 20 minutes walk to town centre. Parking on-site but carpark quite small. House is on main road and we had a room at the front of the house so there was some traffic noise. Overall, very good value for money and would strongly recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hotel spotlessly clean friendly staff would definitely stay there again if visiting Stratford upon Avon
- Alex (10/5): Nice bed and breakfast with excellent hosts - Clean environment, very friendly staff, cooked to order breakfast. Highly recommended.
- Grant (10/5): Great hotel in Stratford - Great place to stay in Stratford. The hotel is run by a very nice family who do a great job at making everything comfortable and pleasant. Highly recommended.
- Hazel (10/5): Lovely Guesthouse - Comfortable, clean guest house with a friendly welcome. Our room was clean and well equipped with a nice en suite shower room. Breakfast was excellent. It's about 10 minutes walk from the station and 20 minutes walk into the town centre. Highly recommended.
- Natalie (10/5): Nice hotel near to the town centre - Lovely stay at this guest house. Hotel is a ten minute walk to the town centre. We stayed in the annex room at the rear of the hotel. It was very spacious and clean perfect for the three of us. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Vernon (10/5): Very nice, quaint guest house - Easy access (less than a mile) from the train station, straight shot into the center of the city, my wife and I enjoyed this modernly adorned room, clean and comfortable. The room was filled with enough teas and coffees to last days, the staff told us the kitchen was accessible for us to grab something for our very early train ticket. We were gone too soon for breakfast but i am guessing, based on everything else, that it would have been smashing. Stratford-upon-Avon was a pleasant surprise and a perfect conclusion to our England trip. Highly recommend.
- Tiffany (10/5): Cozy Place - Very nice family run B&B with well organized breakfast, just 10 min walk from train station. Off a main road but we slept fine. Loved the smell of shampoo and soap in the bathroom.
- Connie (10/5): Delightful stay! - Lovely, well presented and efficiently run guest house. The service was friendly and accomodating and the breakfast was very well cooked and presented. It is situated a comfortable walking distance from the town centre. Would most definitely recommend and would happily return.
- Sivambigai (4/5): - Definitely not a 4 Star
Very much like a 3 Star
Old and very tiny room
Parking is a problem if you arrive late
Ok for a one night stay but if you are on Bussiness not the sort of place to stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely guest house - Great rooms, very clean. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was great. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a lovely stay. Warm and welcoming. Spotless room. Close enough to town to walk to theatre in the evening. Lovely breakfast in the morning. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Noisy ! - Room cramped for a twin and had a strange damp smell. Room was at front of house directly on main road, very noisy. Hard to sleep as outside lights on all night, room had blind and curtains but neither suited to blocking light. Hosts friendly and pleasant and breakfast is excellent. Free WiFi was good.
- Neil (10/5): Nice place to stay in Stratford - Lovely welcome and nice clean comfortable room. Fantastic breakfast with fresh fruit selection and a lovely cooked breakfast which was a lot nicer than some much more expensive places I’ve stayed at
- Verified traveler (10/5): Well situated for visiting Stratford on Avon - Very good value, cannot fault it from start to finish. Nice room, very well appointed, excellent breakfast. Very pleasant and helpful staff
- Paul (8/5): Nice couple family business, well done. - We stay at the room no:5
The showers hot water wasn't warm enough.
- Ruth (10/5): A Warm Welcome - We were warmly welcomed at this lovely B and B where we shared a triple room with en ensuite bathroom. The room and the bathroom were very clean and comfortable. We were provided with information and maps for places of interest in Stratford-upon-Avon. We were able to walk from Penryn Guest House into the center of the older part of town which eliminated the need to find parking in the tourist areas.
Our breakfast was made to order based on a form we filled out the night before. Breakfast was delicious and was served in a pleasantly decorated dining area. The staff members who prepared and served breakfast were friendly and helpful just like the gentleman who greeted us upon our arrival the previous day.
I would highly recommend this location for a convenient place to stay when visiting Stratford-upon-Avon.
- Heather (8/5): Great value. - Very helpful and friendly staff accommodated late check in and early breakfast. Clean and comfortable room with very convenient parking. Great value for the price - highly recommended.
- Geoffrey (10/5): would go back to Penryn House - every thing about our 2 night stay was excellent, like being in your own home.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - it was very good experience and the people working their were friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights while taking in Stratford. It was well ordered and a very pleasant experience. A full English breakfast was available, and it was well cooked. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable.
- Sue (10/5): - Very nice place & they had thought of everything to make to make your stay comfortable.
We were allocated a room at the back of the property which was detached from the main building.
& was very quiet & we didn't have to carry luggage upstairs
It was further out from the Town Centre than we would have liked & Public transport was very limited.
But it did allow us to go to places we may not have gone to had we stayed in the Town centre,
Taxi were available & very reasonably priced.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay - I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is a short walk from the train station - less than 15 minutes. The room was clean and comfortable. A traditional English breakfast was included. It was also very quiet. There are stairs to the rooms so this may be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Aside from that, I would highly recommend staying here.
- heather (10/5): A great local to the town B&B - It was a excellent friendly and comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great location a short walk from all the attractions in Stratford upon Avon we had a amazing short break thanks
- Bangon (10/5): - The best. I love everything about this place. Lovely indeed. Will definitely recommend this to all my friends.
- John (10/5): Home from Home - very good value for money, helpful and friendly staff
- Kim (10/5): Warm and Comfortable - Our host made us feel very welcome with a pot of tea and biscuits on arrival. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast had plenty of variety. There is ample space for car parking and centre of the city is a comfortable 20 minute walk. Very close to Anne Hathaways Cottage.
- Chandru (8/5): Clean hotel - Hotel gave us downstairs rooms as requested. Appreciated that. Good breakfast. Kind hosts.
- millicent (10/5): Delightfully Homely Clean and comfortable - Was very impressed with staff, facilities. Great care taken to keep us comfortable. All the little things added to the pleasant stay. Breakfast superb. Jam jars, fresh flowers, cotton buds etc Give it 5/5.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic place to stay! - We were here for one night and the stay was fantastic. Hosts were friendly, breakfast was excellent and it is in easy reach of Startford- either a 15min walk or £4 taxi. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was nice. we didn't use the shower so can't comment on that. overall you get what you pay for. you could pay more for luxury but for a guesthouse it was ideal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Compact and friendly - Nice little hotel. Small but well run.
Good if you're just sightseeing and sleeping
- stella (10/5): penryn guest house - What a lovely Guest House, friendly staff, superb rooms, and very clean.
Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast very good.
- Gregory (10/5): - This bed and breakfast establishment is one of the best of its type that we have stayed.
We had a spacious room, comfortable beds and a really good breakfast.
We were warmly welcomed on arrival and were offered tea/or coffee, which came with a piece of cake.
It was situated just over 15 minutes walk from the centre of Stratford- upon Avon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A comfortable guest house with a great breakfast - The house was very clean with everything you would expect in a good B&B, the staff were friendly and the breakfast as large as you wanted and well cooked.
- Mr Peter M (8/5): Enjoyable stay at Stratford - The bedroom was a bit cramped but other than that it was a nice stay, breakfast spot on, owners seemed very pleasant
- Susanne (10/5): Comfortable stay - Very comfortable room and spotless En suite; hosts very welcoming and helpful. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast. Good value
- Mary (10/5): Nice Hotel close to the town. - Clean and comfy. nothing to much trouble. Parking right outside Lots of hot water and nice and warm.

The staff were so nice and helpful...the breakfast were consistently good. I would recommend this to anyone needing place to stay at Stratford upon Avon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A great value b&b in a good spot. - Stayed for 6 nights to see the historic sites.although on the main road wasn't noisy. Owners helpful and friendly. About 15 - 20 minute walk into Stratford.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - B&b okay as bog standard. Easy to get into Stratford.
- Verified traveler (8/5): really quiet - Lovely hotel, very quiet and peaceful ,walking distance to Ann hathaways and town, also the train station and a large morrisons on route to town!.staff are very warm and welcoming and a lovely selection of tea ect in the room, breakfast is filling and tasty.wonderful stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice b&b easy 20min walk to town centre - Found b&b very friendly, comfortable and clean. Breakfast good if back in the area would go back
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was clean , adequate space, convenient for most shopping and attractions.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent b&b - Staff was very hard-working and obliging. Comfortable and well-appointed facilities.
- Helen (10/5): Enjoyable overnight stay - Small but beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean room and ensuite. Owner very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, overall very happy and would recommend.
- David (10/5): Clean and a great price - Friendly staff clean guest house great value for money. Great breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient and good value - Penryn Guest House is located about a ten minute direct walk to the train station and about a 20 minute leisurely pace to the central area of Stratford upon Avon.
Good breakfast and comfortable accommodations.
- Robert (8/5): Good, but breakfast should be available earlier. - Overall it was nice. I was disappointed that I never managed to have breakfast. I start work at 8am but breakfast doesn't start till after I had already set off.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Inn within walking distance of Stratford. - Great Inn, close to Ann Hathaway's cottage and walking distance from Stratford with lovely clean rooms and a delicious breakfast.
- Gary (10/5): Great value - Great night sleep
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellence - Warm welcome, room wasn't quite ready when we arrived, tea, coffee and cake provided while we waited.
Room clean and well maintained.
Breakfast was delicious and as much tea or coffee as you wanted.
Staff friendly and helpful,
All round Excellence.
- Philip (8/5): Great stay - We were made to feel very welcome by Dan and the service and breakfast excellent. The room was very comfortable, but rather close to a main road junction. Free Wi-Fi and great tea/coffee making facilities. Good access to the town centre.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Small but nice - Very small. Right near a pretty busy street. Parking was minimal and very tight. Staff was great. Breakfast was good. Freshly made in the kitchen.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Comfortable - The room at the front of the house was ours. It was a comfortable room but the noise from the road outside disturbed us most of the night. Breakfast was good and the dining room was pleasant unless you're in the table next to the fridge! Place is handy for walking into town in 10-15 minutes.
- Ahmed Amin (6/5): - Room and staff were good but poor wifi in room
- David/Sue (10/5): Lovely hotel within walking distance of Stratford - Lovely hotel and Stratford very interesting. Loads of eating places, including a Wetherspoon's . Town easy to explore and multi ticket worth while.

- Scott (10/5): Overnight in Stratford on Avon - 15 min walk to town centre, great breakfast. nice rooms
- Gordon (8/5): Lovely place. - While the place doesn't look much from the outside the room was large and very comfortable.
Breakfast was lovely and the service fast.
The staff were friendly.
Parking was not a problem. We left the car and walked the 15-20 mins into the centre of town.
We wpold stay here again
- brian (10/5): nice hotel/B&B - very comfortable, great breakfast,would stay again
- Anthony (10/5): Nice and right for the job. - The room was clean and tidy with tea and coffee making facilities. Towels were changed every day and the room was warm. There was a bit of traffic noise, but I always use earplugs when I'm travelling so this was not an issue for me. I didn't use the TV as I was tired when I got back, so cannot comment on this. No air con was visible, but I wouldn't have used I in the winter if it was available,
- A (10/5): - Very comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great breakfast and terrific hosts. I did not have a car but was able to walk everywhere, although about 15 mins from town centre.
- Sheena (10/5): A lovely guest house in Stratford - We stayed here at this lovely Guest House for just one night. It was very warm and welcoming. Our room had been recently refurbished with new bathroom ensuite, the bedroom decor was modern and everywhere was spotlessly clean. We had a menu left in our room for our breakfast choices and chosen times which we left at the desk in reception the night before. Our breakfast was served in the small dining room and again we had good service and a wonderful hearty English breakfast.
- Paul (8/5): A comfortable, affordable stay - Very friendly greeting and a nice clean room. Comfortable bed, good selection of drinks making products and a healthy water pressure in the shower. Let down only by flaky internet connection - that said, in the last five years of working away from home I haven't stayed in a single UK Hotel/B&B that had decent internet access so I don't think of this as a major down score.
Good value for money, would be happy to stay again.
- DoggieLover (8/5): A delight - Wonderful B&B that welcomed our little spaniels. Lovely room and lovely food :)
- Leon (10/5): Excellent B & B in Cricceth, North Wales. - Greet place. Lovely couple owns and runs Penryn and they do a Grady job. We had s wonderful time in Cricceth and the Penryn and its owners are why -- they were generous with insider tips and good sdvice The hotel was spotless and the breakfasts excellent. We would certainly stay there again!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I love to walk and there were too many fast moving cars on the road into the village to make it a pleasant experience, otherwise very good place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - very nice place, very nice decorating, breakfast was very good and ample, fruit, yogurt, tea, coffee, juice and a hot meal, room was very nice.
- retired couple (8/5): Neat and fully equipped - Satifactory and enjoyable. Price is resonable. Location is a bit far from town centre.
- Stuart (10/5): Great B&B Close to Centre - Nice greeting on arrival. Parking available and accommodation available, although a little early at check in. Lovely room and very private in an annex to the main building. Everything within this room was functional and beautifully clean.
- Clinton (10/5): - Had a great stay here. Was treated with care and made sure everything we needed was taken care of.
- Metcalfe (8/5): - A short stay in Stratford Upon Avon. Penryn Guest house was a 10 minute walk from the majority of visitor attractions. The Guest house was extremely comfortable, very reasonably priced with a hearty breakfast cooked freshly every morning .I would highly recommend.
- far (8/5): Ideal location to visit Stratford. - Good location,
- Lesley (10/5): Would come again - Guest House perfectly adequate. Owners friendly and immediately sorted a stuck plug problem. breakfast good.
- Oswaldo (10/5): Our stay in Stratford-upon-Avon - Really nice experience, would definitely recommend your hotel to friends and family
- Richard (10/5): Lovely Host and Lovely Breakfast - This is a lovely little gem. Located about 10 minutes walk from the train and 25 minutes walk from the theatre the hotel may be a little far out for some, but worth the walk. The breakfast (included) is excellent and made to order each day with locally sourced ingredients. The hosts are very friendly and responsive. The room was clean and tidy.
- Steven (10/5): Great stay and excellent location ! - We received a very warm welcome and felt right at home . Just a 15 min walk to York Minster which was great ! Breakfast was really tasty and well cooked - I totally recommend a stay here !!!!
- Jenny (4/5): Disappointing Stay in Stratford - I do not understand how this hotel could have possibly received a four star rating on your site. The hotel was on a busy road so there were traffic sounds all night, and it was a good 30 minute walk from the center of town. The room was tiny. Our hostess spoke little english and had a hard time communicating with us and could not provide directions to major sites. Perhaps more importantly, the toilet seemed to work only intermittently. The room was passably clean but the decor was outdated and a bit tacky.
- Morna (8/5): A secret star - Stayed for six nights while attending a summer school run by the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Had been at Penryn two years ago on a similar stay, and liked it, although it was a fair walk from the centre. The only issues I had were that the wifi was very poor in my room (although excellent in the dining room) and TV reception similarly poor. Towels were changed more frequently than I required, and owners and staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely worth travelling a bit farther out for the value offered.
- Benn (8/5): A great guest house in a very nice town - We stayed for two nights in August 2015, our stay was very nice, the owners of the guest house were very kind and helpful.
It is a 15 min walk to the centre of Stratford-Upon-Avon and the guest house itself is very nice overall and even though it is on a busy road, it wasn´t too noisy.
The room was big with a big en suite bathroom with shower, as well as having two armchairs, a small table, a desk and a TV and DVD player.
It was very clean and the bed was big and comfortable.
The breakfast was very good, with a great cooked English breakfast, as well as lots of continental breakfast choices.
Highly recommended for comfort and price, we would defninitely go back again.
- christine (10/5): A1 - Room was excellent in every way, comfort & a great choice of tea making facilities, hair dryer, soap, body lotion & good breakfast. Couldn't fault it.
- Pete (10/5): comfortable stay excellent servive - most enjoyable stay would use again and recommend 10 mins walk to town ideal
- Mr Richard M (10/5): Great Nights Stay in Welcoming Guest House - Really friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. The room was equipped with everything you require for a stay away. Only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the town centre, the rail Station is even closer. Fantastic breakfast with a wide variety of choice catering for all tastes and allergies. Hotel was spotlessly clean, and we had a great nights sleep in a really comfortable bed. Great value for money, would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area. Five star in my opinion.
- David (10/5): Sunny Stratford - Very pleasant stay, friendly host, and excellent breakfast.
- Karen (10/5): Lovely B&B - A lovely B&B! Our room looked like it had recently been refurbished and had lovely comfortable beds with a good en-suite. Tea and coffee making facilities were good and the room had wine glasses! Toiletries were also provided. Breakfast was brilliant and cooked to order. Highly recommended.
- anthony (8/5): - Perfect short stay destination for a trip to the RSC en route further south. Maximum use of space...room slightly cramped but extremely clean, freshly decorated.
- Francine (10/5): Stratford-upon-Avon - Great B & B! Comfortable room and lovely breakfast. Walking distance to town and Anne Hathaway's cottage. Would recommend.
- Brian (10/5): great value - This place ticks all the boxes lovely people great breakfast and only 5 minutes into beautiful Stratford upon Avon with bus stop nearby.
- Anne (10/5): Comfortable stay at Penryn. - Stayed overnight while visiting someone nearby. Very comfortable and clean.Good breakfast.
- Sally (8/5): GREAT Breakfast! - Breakfast was FABULOUS! We ate like royalty! Very impressive!
- Trevor (10/5): Stratford - The rooms were a good size and very clean. The hosts were very friendly and served an outstanding breakfast.
