Guest Reviews
- Melissa (10/5): Good location five minutes away from the beach, ten minutes walking distance to the train station. The lady receptionist - Immaculate rooms. We really enjoyed our stay. Nothing
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed - Very cold no heating had to ask then ask again
They let us in to room early but it had not been cleaned so Covid is a bad risk as not been disaffected so would have rather left our stuff in the car until later
- Simon (8/5): - This was a very good place to stay. My only comment was that the room was very hot, and while I like a warm room, the heater control of the radiator was behind a cupboard and could not not be reached. I also think, as the room was rather small, that the bedside table made the room feel rather cluttered, and is probably not really needed.
- Paul (2/5): No Staff - Where do I start, came here for a vacation with my 83 year old father for nine days.
To put things into perspective I have travelled extensively for work and lived in hotels for years so I have seen the good and the bad. This hotel is the ugly.
There is literally no staff from Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon-none! Office is permanently closed with a note on the window to call a number if you need anything. The kitchen and full English breakfast in the morning as advertised doesn’t exist because there is no cook (told that was removed from the price of the stay-would hate to see the price with the breakfast). In the room the shower tub base was cracked with a shoddy repair job so a bath mat was installed to cover it up. The shower head was held together by duct tape, yes grey duct tape. Linens were never changed or towels and garbages were never emptied.
For three days there was no heating, luckily this happened near the weekend so the guy who eventually shows up called a maintenance guy to repair it after the second day. My Dad was wearing a coat in the room. To top it off, no heat no hot water so cold showers. No remorse from the guy, no offer to compensate.
The onus is on the guests to ensure the old front door closes properly for hotel security.
In a word-disgrace. Stay away. Far far away…
- David (10/5): - Decor was fabulous
- Andrew (2/5): The Marie Celeste of hotels - Not a success. I arrived at check in time, the entrance was shut, nobody answered the bell. I rang a telephone number displayed on a scrappy piece of paper, and was told that. 'she" was out, could. I come back at 4?
I said I wasn't waiting, but would return around 10.00. Could I ring 10 minutes before to warn, said the voice? I duly did this. At 10.00 the door was again shut. I rang the the bell again. Five minutes later a woman wearing slippers emerged behind me, and let me in. I was handed a scrappy piece of paper to provide all my details, including passport number(!), even though I had provided all these before when pre-paying. The reception "office" had a couple of scruffy chairs, and that was it.
I was at least shown upstairs to my roomy the lady in slippers. Which was to be fair clean, both towels and sheets, and the en suite even contained an up to date shower.
Even though the sign outside the hotel promised Bed and. breakfast, and a full bar downstairs (all repeated in the welcoming brochure in the room, plus detailed menus for supper as well as breakfast), it was clear that none of these were on offer- not even a glass for water from my tap.
In the morning I came downstairs at 8.30. There was certainly no breakfast, indeed there was no sign of life anywhere. So I left my key on the shelf outside the "office", opened the front door, and walked out into the rain.
At no stage during I see or hear anybody based in the hotel- whether staff or guests.
- John (10/5): Surprisingly good stay - Great place to stay. Far better than first look. Would go back again.
- Andrew (10/5): A little gem - This is an excellent small hotel which has a first class interior fit akin to a four star rating. The room I occupied was very small but extremely well fitted out. The owner spent a considerable amount of time looking after my needs with pride and expressed his passion for the comfort and safety of his guests. My room was on the front of the building which faces a very busy road and this was noticeably busy during the night. I am a very light sleeper unfortunately but most people would not notice the traffic. A great hotel very good value and near to ferry and city.
- Mark (8/5): - Room was large, clean and well decorated. Unfortunately the bed wasnt very comfortable.
- Joseph (10/5): - Excellent superb recommend
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed - We were let down as soon as we arrived as check in was from 2pm and we got there at 4pm and the room wasn't ready . We were shown to the bar /dining area to wait but was not offered any refreshments while we waited . The room had not been cleaned fully following guests having their breakfast . The room was very clean and comfortable . The shower wasn't great the water pressure was slow . The bathroom was tiny bearing in mind we were in a family room .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice friendly service
No food or drink. This is probably due to Covid
- Claire (10/5): Werkend break - Excellent, friendly service. Nothing was too much trouble. V clean, modern room. Close to beach, coastal path and restaurants.
- Susan (8/5): Lovely friendly hotel - From the outside it looked slightly rundown but when I entered I was pleasantly surprised. Great breakfast included in the price
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easy to get too parking at rear close to restaurants. Room is large and very comfortable
- Noman (6/5): - Staff can be polite And more accommodating
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean Hotel. Newly furbished .Very friendly and helpful staff. The only thing we had problem with was WiFi. Close for Albert Docks and centre.
- Graham (10/5): - Very roomy clean great breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a lovely unexpected find. The rooms and decor were lovely and impeccably clean. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our breakfast. Thank you for a lovely stay highly recommend
- Kevin (8/5): - Refurbished inside with comfortable beds and good size rooms
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good size clean room, fantastic breakfast. Easy for public transport into city centre
- jeff (10/5): Newly renovated - Very enjoyable stay - place is newly renovated and looks much better on the inside :-)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was close to our family
Quiet at night
Friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good clean hotel Easy parking and access to facilities
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Looks completely renovated inside. Comfy beds. Large rooms. Parking off street. Full English. Good stay, and for the price excellent
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a 1 night stay with my daughter whilst going to a concert at Anfield.
Lovely clean hotel, check in and out easy, very good value for money, we were in room 14 which has a large comfortable king size bed and tea and coffee facilities.
The full English breakfast was amazing, freshly cooked and delicious.
I would recommend this hotel, Taxi to Anfield about ten minutes and cost £8 so we’ll worth staying here for concerts 😃
- Verified traveler (10/5): Our stay - Really enjoyed the stay, breakfast was lovely. Comfortable beds and lighting.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly helpful staff. Large well equiped room. Hearty breakfast.
- andre (8/5): For overnight - Good hotel, recently refurbished, very clean, quiet location and safe, pleasant dining room with good breakfast, good quality for the price. I would not recommend the single rooms with shared Toilets for old people (shower is very small), this is why I noted "confort" average.
- Bianca (10/5): Lovely!! - Very comfortable, would recommend to anyone!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was clean and nice hotel
But it was shared toilet.
- Mike (8/5): - A nice budget hotel with clean comfortable room and good breakfast.
Only thing missing was the availability of an evening meal
- Amy (10/5): - Lovely stay! Nice room, clean, large bathroom ensuite. Tasty breakfast too!
- BethJones (10/5): - A fab little hotel. Perfect for us as we were attending a party near by. Rooms were gorgeous, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The staff were attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely fresh breakfast too. We will definitely be returning! 😊
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It had a real classic feel to the whole place from the outside, but as soon as you entered it was lovely and modern on the inside. Amazing hotel.
- Alison (8/5): - If you are travelling alone this is very good value for money as they have single bedrooms which in fact have three-quarter beds which are very comfortable.
It’s a traditional building that has been modernised inside. My room was compact but it was adequate with a clean modern bathroom, TV tea and coffee facilities but no hairdryer.
I’d give the room 9 out of 10 but the breakfast Was limited in what is offered, there was no fruit or yoghurt just cereal to start with. There was a good selection of cooked breakfasts but my veggie sausages were very hard and the mushrooms had a strange overcooked oily taste. The eggs bacon beans tea and fruit juice were all okay though.
- iciar (2/5): Tiny broom cupboard - The tiniest room I have ever seen, tiny window, ground floor and people walking pass my window. Shower inside the room, tiniest space having to put the bathroom mat on the floor by the kettle as I have to plug on the socket on the floor as no other socket available. Bedside light not working. Room did not match photos. Overpriced.
- Sarah (8/5): - The first room we stayed in the radiator wasn't working but the lovely lady on reception moved us to another room. The hotel is lovely inside it could could with a bit of landscaping outside. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were friendly.
- Phil (8/5): Seaforth Liverpool Stay, December 2018 - Welcoming staff and explained how doors work well for getting in and out late at night.
Also allowed me to stay beyond normal check out time at no extra charge, up to midday.
- B (10/5): - Clean, tidy and modern. We enjoyed our 2 nights we had with friends. Easy access to city by public transport from hotel. Nice breakfast and helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent rooms. Nice breakfast
- Albert (10/5): - The staff were lovely breakfast was so good excellent cook. Room was spacious nice big tv on the wall, bed was comfy. Very happy with our stay.
- Amanda (8/5): - I stayed three days and was due to stay at another hotel after a trip to Yorkshire but booked there again and cancelled my other hotel.
- Chris (8/5): - Spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast very good.
- helen (8/5): Newly refurbished hotel - Good hotel, needed a bed for friends party who lives local
- William (10/5): Very good Hotel - Extremely clean hotel, great breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. The only thing that could be improved is that the wiFi connection was slow.
- jennifer (8/5): Better than it looks - It was a much better experience than I expected from some of the earlier reviews. It was very clean and well furnished. My single room was comfortable with a shower and wash basin but I had to go along a short passage to the toilet. Breakfast was good. The only thing that might let them down is the front garden which needs a real tidy up. If I lived nearer than south west Wales I would, as some one who works in gardens, done it for nothing. It takes away from what is a decent guest house. I had selected it out of the blue. Jenny
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice hotel lovely clean rooms but no air con and it’s been super hot at nite . Brilliant staff and great breakfast
- Kensuz (8/5): Friendly staff pleasant stay - Next to Crosby beach for Antony Gormley statues installation
Hotel had a warm and helpful welcome
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the photos don't really do this place justice. very helpful and friendly staff
- omar (10/5): Jag var varkligen imponerad av allt älskar denna h - Jag rekommendera att sova denna fantastiska Hotel
