Guest Reviews
- Julie (2/5): - Did not get the chance to stay at Fairview on Albert rd.
Shut down when I arrived ,and told they left the premises more then a few months ago .very annoyed especially when I booked it last October 2016 .... through travigo.
- Verified traveler (4/5): room - tiny room for 3 people probably 10 foot x 8 foot , the batchroom with louvre doors so no privacy was the size of a wardrobe
mismatched bedding
the guy in charge was pleasent
- Philip (8/5): basic 2 star - Fri to Sun visit. Rooms be so 2 star but the host was exceptional in accom your every need.
- Anbe-Marie (8/5): Good value budget hotel - Good communication, welcoming, toiletries, breakfast. The room was rather cold - maybe the locals are more hardy than us!!
- Sophie (2/5): nothing like what is advertised. - me and my 4 friends booked into this hotel and it wasn't up to the standards I required, it says there is a bar when we had arrived it was not open and to be honest it didn't look like they had one. on the website it shows you two separate rooms for 4 guests but yet there were 4 single beds cramped up into one small room which was very hard for all of us to move around etc. The cups were very dirty we couldn't bring our self to use them.
- Beryl (10/5): Traditional seaside hotel (clean and quaint) - This hotel is a typical traditional seaside hotel with everything you expect. The service was smashing and we had everything we needed to make our stay a happy one. It was like stepping back to the fifties with all the pluses of that era and none of the negatives. We intend to do it again but for a longer period.
- deborah (4/5): - The owners were trying to do their best but it needs a women's touch and better organisation at breakfast
- Neville (4/5): - Building in need of facelift and refurbishment, also lack of basics e.g. no toiletries,
- Verified traveler (4/5): - family room very small, not cleaned very well, bedside lamp not working, not enough milk to make four cups of tea. en suite was a joke.
- pippa (2/5): DISAPPOINTING!!! - I wasn't expecting much for blackpool but from the pictures on the website i was expecting better than what we got! So first impressions when i walked in 'dark & dingy'
Greated by a man who obviously needs some customer service training! Lol
Room - we had booked a room for a family of 4 so was expecting a double and 2 singles in a reasonably sized room for a family! You couldnt swing a cat in it, there was 4 single beds squished into a room, one being under a big bay window which was drafty and cold, you could here every car/person passing by! The quilts were thin and some pillows had mould on them, the tv didnt work either. They provided a kettle and cups but no tea/ coffee.
Breakfast we was told 9.30am -10am which for us was late as our kids are always up early, went down at 9 and there were loads of people eating breakfast - when we got it it was cold!
Basically for the nearly £80 for a night we would most definitely say spend more and go els where!
- Gabriela (4/5): not conven at all for a family with older children - The room was very small for a family with older children. When we came in the room in the evening it was very smelly ans we could not have a shower because of the sewage smell and the dirt that came up in the shower. We ask the staff to come and sort the incident out and then the owner came up very upset swearing and behaving quite rude. The toilet was faulty, the bin was dirty with no bin-liner.
Lamp was not working . The shower and toilet were very small. The doors were hardly closing. It was very disappointing for 85£ a night. We were so upset and we just put the key on the reception desk and left without any breakfast. This is what happened to us. The good was that the bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. The staff atitude's was quite abusive.... I am very sad for the way things turned out for us...
- Douglas (2/5): Awful - Absolutely awful.proprietor did not know we were coming,no towels,no milk Tele did,not work no side plates or napkins, asked for an extra pillow, now available.beds uncomfortable, every where
Dirty.the place needs a total return.DO N O T STAY HERE.
- Matthew (10/5): Lovely Relax Hotel - It was great service the staff was very help full. They could not done any better. They made me feel at home. I most probably stay there in the future.
- jaya (2/5): - Receptionist very rude on arrival, no customer service, room wasn't ready, broken items and beds were stored in the bathroom we were expected to use - not safe at all as we were travelling with young children, tv wasn't working, wiring all over the place. Mattress in one the rooms was actually smaller than the bed! We paid to have breakfast in the morning but the host was so rude to my children we left without having the breakfast. I have never experienced such bad service in my life and our family travel often. Avoid at all costs.
- Emma (2/5): Not recommended - We booked the hotel as it was close to the town. We was a little disappointed about the condition the hotel was in. It was damp it smelt and the room was tiny for 2 people. The room would of been ok for 2 children but not 2 adults.there was a small wardrobe with barely fit anything in also the bathroom was tiny we are small but struggled with the space. The guys that we running it were nice but didnt have any urgency about them i had to ask for clean towels twice and toilet roll also on the website it said rooms cleaned daily but they never went in once! The only decent thing was the breakfast even though it was served later than most hotels but was a good breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Close to amenities, beach, shopping centre etc - Very helpful and friendly staff .lovely breakfast value for money
- Stephanie (10/5): Clean, inexpensive hotel, central to Blackpool - Two of us went to see the fireworks, and to get free parking was just great. It is just behind Blackpool Tower, and easy walking distance to the shops and entertainments. The full English breakfast was very good and we felt they looked after us very well.
- Brian (8/5): Cheap and cheerful. - Cheap, so you get what you pay for with respect to the room. Small and a bit bare, but the room was clean and the staff are both friendly and helpful. The full english breakfast is lovely.
If I return to Blackpool I would certainly be happy to stay here again.
- Hannah (4/5): - Clean enough but the furniture and carpet were in need of replacing. Main issue was the parking. We booked it though hotels.com over other places because it was advertised as having free parking but there was only two spaces for the 10+ rooms so there was no space for us.
- Vincent (10/5): - enjoyed our nights stay at fairview kids loved blackpool and lights beach was really good hope to return next year for lights
- david (10/5): bed for the night - fantastic hotel for a quick overnight stop. the staff were friendly and atentive. good breakfast. very short walk to the tower and center of town.but far anough away from all the noise. pretty secure parking to as every time I went to my car the hotel staff poped there head out to make sure nothing was happing with it.
- Andrew J (8/5): blackpools finest. - good lads good breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Everything is within walking distance - Gud friendly staff up for a laugh to which helps.gud breakfast
- Chloe (10/5): Great stay - Great stay, excellent service, very flexible and I would definately return again
- Ishrat (6/5): Fairview hotel - overall a good stay but old matresses and breakfast was late (9:30AM)
- Susan (2/5): Faulty Towers - This B & B was very basic , the bed linen was clean but the towels needed an oxy wash , the man running the B & B did his best he was very helpful even when there was a power failure on Sunday morning and the guests had to turn off all electrical appliances they were using so that he could cook breakfast , I wouldn't stay again but for £55 for a double room I should not have expected anything better
- Verified traveler (2/5): disgusting hotel - This hotel should never be open to the public,it needs health n safety going in to close it I paid £300 from the fri to sun and it wasn't worth £30,i never touched the breakfast place is just to dirty,3 irish lads have got the b/b and clearly haven't got a clue, dont think the place has ever seen a hoover our breakfast table still had mess on from day before, our wardrobe was a pole coming out of the wall this hangers on,pubic hairs in the sink n shower, curtains hanging off the rail if you can call it that, carpet on stairs is coming away on the end so you think your on the step but your not, ceiling light not on ceiling properly, plug sockets not on properly all showing wires,mould/brown marks on walls need I go on the wkend was a disaster I need a phone no or someone I can make a complaint to to try n get some of my money back as this b/b should never be on this website.Thankyou from a very angry customer
- edward (6/5): OK guest house for short stay. - my wife and myself are both 80 year old and our small room was up two flights of stairs which was not too good for us. booking online I should have asked for a room on ground or first floor.
- Qusai (6/5): 7/10 - The stay overall was fine but personally I would stay for a day or two because the room is a little stuffed and squeezed together also not much toilet space but the pros where the service is amazing incredibly kind people and not to far from the city center so you can walk a fair amount and get to the fun parts of black pool over all I would give it 7/10 again everything is fine but it's not the perfect hotel for a family of 5.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Expedia overbooking.I will never use your service - The hotel was fine, the guys were very kind but when I arrived they told me that Expedia overbooked the room, so I found myself sharing with two people, instead of having a single room, which was what I originally booked.
Blackpool was packed and non vacancies around so I had to stay and share but it was so unprofessional from Expedia.
Onestly, I won't advice your booking website to anyone.
- sharon (6/5): Small room no fan or air con - Didnt sleep well as small room no fan/aircon ppl coming in n out all through nite slamming doors asked for no egg on breakfast as im allergic brought breakfast out with egg on an they scraped the egg of plate witch is bad for someone who has an allegy wouldnt stay again
- Verified traveler (6/5): - people very nice but seemed dissorganised
- Carol (8/5): good value - had my 2 year old grandson, had a family room, double plus a single. the room was quite compact, but had what we needed and was clean.the staff we really friendly. 2 irish guys with a very strong accent, sometimes had trouble understanding them, but they were lovely. lol. the hotel is just a few minutes walk from the town centre and sea front.wasnt in a noisy area. small parking area round the back.ideal for couples and families. full english breakfaast. help yourself to cereal, juice and toast.would defo visit again.
- Theresa (10/5): Our weekend in Blackpool - Took my daughter and a fiend to Blackpool for weekend. Booked the fairview online. Price for three of us was very good and included breakfast. First impressions as we walked in was hotel needs redecorating and updating but the staff/owners were very nice and helpful during our stay Breakfast was really nice The best English breakfast I'd had in a long time. So overall we had a nice weekend and would stay there again.
- michael (6/5): New owners - A challenge ahead for the new owners great guys down to earth still lots of work to do can't grumble on price
- H (6/5): Needs a little refining - It was apparent that the hotel was just starting out and needed a few refinements. Nothing major, but listed below:
Napkins needed at breakfast
Ensure that the food is out before opening the restaurant
Utensils for the food - maybe put in a container at the side of the hot plate
Instead of a kettle, have an insulated hot water and coffee pot - this way it will help the electric situation
A good idea would be to set up the restaurant in the evening
This isn't a criticism and i would stay again as the room was clean and had everything we needed. We even arrived early and was able to check in, so thank you for that. Also, the lads that run it were very warm, friendly, approachable and well mannered.
- Katy (6/5): Great clean B&B - Great location for Winter Gardens and Tower ballroom; lovely little hotel with great cooked breakfast. A real bargain rate. I could park securely in the hotel car park which was great.
Shame that Blackpool is so dog rough though or it would be a nicer place to holiday...
The only negative was that the toilet seat was broken and when I let the lady know when I was checking out, she already knew about it which I found a big annoying. If they knew it was broken, why hadn't they fixed it?
- Roger (10/5): One of the nicest ones in Blackpool - Lovely Place. Gracious Hosts. The breakfast was delicious. The bed was comfortable without sagging. I booked the room with the two single beds. It is extremely small. No room for luggage and the courtesy door between the toilet and the room left no privacy of sound and smell. The bathroom was good and the shower had lots of hot water and easy to use. It was perfect for the week that I was there as it was close to all my needs and I only need a place to sleep not hang out.
- Traveller (8/5): Good value. Clean room. Hot shower. Good breakfast - Single room, very small but clean. Bathroom small but clean. Shower hot. Fresh towels. TV, kettle hairdryer all worked.
Only downside - thin curtains and as the room faced the road it was very noisy. Very good breakfast. Good value!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money. Cheap hotel. - Cheap hotel. Good for its price but very small room. Old hotel. Nice breakfast for its price. Kind staff.
- Johny (4/5): you get what you pay for - the hotel is average , was very clean, the breakfast was good,
- Verified traveler (10/5): fab hotel - Welcomed by the owner, lovely clean ensuite double room, cud not find any faults wid this hotel, great location, will be paying another visit.
- Debwhite8 (10/5): Excellent value - Was bringing my daughter to uni and wanted to stay over rather than a 5 hour journey home the same day. In the centre but away from it all. Couldn't park my car as no space despite getting there 30 mins after check in time. Other than that perfect budget accommodation and lovely breakfast! Clean and a five minute walk from my daughters flat
- Verified traveler (8/5): Shower room - The shower room was very small and doors difficult to shut but for the one night we stayed it was fine. If I was staying longer it would not have been satisfactory and very little hanging room for clothes.
- maz (6/5): ok... - Stayed for 1 night on the 25th july 2014, location was perfect for, minutes walk from houndshill shopping centre, the sands, central pier etc...hotel was clean, breakfast good (apart from we only got 3 slices of toast to 4 people, had to ask for more) rooms small but comfy, did'nt find the owners very helpful, made my sis-in-law feel like abit of a burden because she has 1 of the mobility walkers and the owners where not very accomodating as to where she could leave it when she where'nt using it, eventually we left it in the hallway which was not in anybody's way and did not obstruct anyone's walk way, saved us carting it up and down the stairs everytime we went back and forth from the hotel, never had this issue in any other hotel we have stayed in, us personally would not stay here again but each to their own...
- pigeon lady (10/5): Good location - Friendly welcome. Room clean and comfortable. Very central location. Car parking an added bonus. A good hearty breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and centrel - Excellant stay just what i needed thank you
- welsh girl (8/5): Great location - The hotel location was great for hitting the town for a girly night out. We had a twin room which was comfortable but could have done with being a bit bigger eg: a dressing table and chair. Breakfast was lovely and the owners were very inviting. I would say the only downfall for this hotel is that you have to vacate your room by 10am, ive stopped in a few b&b in blackpool in the past and not had to vacate unitl 11am, which is much better after a night out. Apart from that I couldn't fault this hotel and would recommend it to friends and family.
- teresa (4/5): plenty of nicer hotels to choose from - thr room had a broken window so was draughty all night plastic sheets on the beds so really uncomftable and breakfast not ready in time aufull stay away !!!!!!!
- John (10/5): Recommended hotel for couples - Friendly Staff! A good value for money basic room, exactly what we needed for a 1-night stay!
Room was clean. Slightly thin room walls but no major issues with that. Buffet english breakfast was really nice! I would recommend it to any couple. Will be back again.
