Our room was right outside the ice machine so we heard people getting ice at all hours. There were stains on the pillow cases and we found hairs in the bed before we ever used the bed. The mattress was sunken in and not comfortable in the least. Only 1 roll of toilet paper. The only time housekeeping showed up was after we had been out all day and were getting ready to go out for dinner.

Front desk people are very friendly and helpful. I had the pleasure to meet the owner. She is very nice. My mother forgot her AirPods and the owner call me back to let me now . She said to not worry she will go out of her way to mail them to me. I really appreciate her doing this for me. Also must give her housekeepers the credit for being very honest and caring about people leaving their stuff behind. The only thing we didn’t like was that out of the 3 rooms we stay in . Two rooms 101 and 108 the people staying next to us were so loud. It was about 2am they were slamming the door and being so loud. Good thing it was only one night out of the 5 days we stayed. Also it would be nice if house keeping would change the bedsheets especially when we stayed for 5 days. One of our rooms never got their sheets changed or bed done when staying there .

I recommend getting the Oceanfront room. Great view of ocean, beach and boardwalk. Room was clean. Rooms are a little dated and could use an update.
• Robert (7/5): Very comfortable but spartan. - The location was excellent, right on the boardwalk. The air conditioning was very strong and kept the room cool and comfortable. A fairly large refrigerator kept many bottles and cans cold. The sound dampening was very good and reduced boardwalk noise to barely audible (important because the boardwalk is directly below). The room was very large and clean. The bathroom was adequate, however, some fixtures had corroded probably from salty air. Staff was friendly and had a sense of humor. Having a balcony with chairs and table that directly faces the ocean was very nice. My main concern was the inadequacy of electrical outlets for phone charging and other needs. No usb outlets were provided. Overall, the room is comfortable but very spartan for such a high price. At a cost of over $400/night they could have provided more than 1/3 of a toilet paper roll. A fresh roll should have been installed.

• Mark (8/5): Overall, very pleased with my stay and I would stay at Rideau again in the future. - The room was a large oceanfront and met my expectations. It was reasonably clean and comfortable. Also, the location of hotel is excellent and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the people and the ocean. Although the room was reasonably clean, the floors still had a bit of gritty sand on them so walking around barefoot was not advisable.l also would have liked it better if there had been staff in the office around the clock 24 hrs.

Owner said it’s something she can’t help and she thinks it’s because it’s been raining a lot? She upgraded us to a king room. A couple nights later we got home late and my boyfriend went to the bathroom and ANOTHER roach runs across his shoe. Assumed the office was closed so we sucked it up until morning and left as soon as possible. Reached out to the hotel after getting home to see if they could maybe offer some kind of refund or something. Even took video so the knew we weren’t making it up. Was told they never had a roach problem. But wait, the owner literally told me it’s something that sometimes happens days ago? Then! They said they had to bring their pest guy in to see “where the problem could have arose from”. And after that they’d let us know? I’m sorry… are you insinuating that we brought the roaches to the room we were in for 20 minutes? I’d highly recommend spending your 1600 dollars elsewhere.

We had a king sized bed and the mattress was soft but the bed or frame was lopsided.ended up with a pinched nerve after three nights. Our room was also right above a cantina and on the boardwalk. Weekend noise is crazy. During the week it was quiet by 11 pm. If you don’t mind the outdated makeup of the motel this is a great place for convenience. Everything is right there.

• Erica (8/5): - Location was absolutely perfect. Everything was pretty clean. Pool was nice, a littly chilly but it wasnt a crazy hot weekend so understandable. Price was great! Staff were all very friendly. Check in/out was great. Bedding and pillows were uncomfortable. Comforter and sheets were just kinda scratchy/stiff feeling. Parking spots were a bit small, we have a bigger truck though so we decided to move when someone left so we could park better. We canceled with another place and rebooked here so no breakfast was kinda a bummer some little pastries,donuts/muffins,cereal or fruit would have been nice but definitely wasn't a deal breaker for the price and location being a last minute change.
