- Andy (8/5): Welcoming and comfortable accomodation in a quiet village. - We requested a quiet room and it was just that. Tucked away in the eaves in furthest wing with just the two rooms we had booked in a small corridor. Private and comfortable. Bed was comfy and the shower just right. For the price point - would not complain. A towel rail perhaps but otherwise spot on.

Our room (7) was above the kitchen and we could hear their loud music playing from our check in Saturday afternoon (thankfully not too late into the evening) but started again early on Sunday morning.for breakfast service.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The only negative was that on two mornings our preferred breakfast option was not available.

- Sarah (5/5): Lovely place..................Awful dangerous shower - Staff friendly, location lovely and food fab. The shower in our room (No2) was horrendous. It was either cold or scolding hot. My friend actually burnt her hand trying to use it. We had to resort to using a cup to swish ourselves down with to get washed. Thankfully we were only staying one night. Place would get an excellant rating if not for this. Really needs looking at as someone (especially a chld) could get seriously burnt in my opinion. :(

The food was just okay. We asked for sources and had nearly finished the meal before they came. Another couple didn't get their sauces or toast they ordered. When they went to pay. And told staff she went running to the kitchen and found the toast was burnt. There wasn't a lot to do. We walked 20 mins down the road to another pub and they had a quiz on. We were just to late to join in.

- Martina (10/5): Ein wunderschönes Hotel im New Forest. Typisch Englisch ganz gemütlich mit tollem Personal netter Bar und netter Bedienu - Sehr gemütliches Hotel. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend. Wir konnten das Zimmer wechseln, da in einem Zimmer laute Geräusche der Klimaanlage zu hören waren, die Bar ist sehr gemütlich die Aufenthaltsräume und das Restaurant. Das Abendessen war wunderbar. Das Frühstück hat uns nicht gefallen.

- Lauren (8/5): Wonderful restaurant and staff - Great location for Peppa Pig World, along with a lovely restaurant and bar area serving top-quality food. This was the main reason for our return visit. On this occasion, we were allocated Room 3, which is directly above the bar. It was quite noisy until the bar closed, after which it was fine. Unfortunately, the room itself was not very clean. There was noticeable dust on surfaces and cobwebs in the bathroom, and overall it felt like it needed a thorough clean. There were also signs of general wear and tear that could be improved with some minor attention. It’s a real shame, as the restaurant is wonderful and adds so much to the experience. With a few improvements to cleanliness and maintenance, this could be an amazing place to stay. Would I return? To the restaurant, absolutely. To stay at the hotel, probably not.

- Kenneth (3/5): Very disappointing overall. - Fresh milk provided on request. Sheets and towels clean, . Room refreshments good. No cold water to the shower or bath rendering both unusable. When reported to staff no alternative showering facility was offered. Carpeted floor and bathroom floor dirty with hairs from previous occupation. We expected a clean, comfortable room with somewhere to sit and a usable shower. Disappointed in all respects.

- Simon (8/5): Would happily stay again, lovely location nice place. - Location was perfect for what we needed, the main pub areas had been recently renovated, staff weee extremely pleasant. Breakfast was lovely. Had a separate lounge area for sports viewing so if you weren’t into it you could still enjoy the main pub. Whilst the room was well appointed the bathroom finishes were a bit worn, but really wouldn’t take much to refreshen them. Ned’s would be small for a couple.

- Shella (8/5): - I liked the whole place in general and the location as well as how lovely the room looked. Really enjoyed my breakfast too, even more so as I had the entire room to myself! Only dealt with one member of staff and she was very frwand welcoming. I didn't like how dusty most surfaces in my room were and the amount of cobwebs in it. I ended up having to use toilet roll to wipe down both bedside table (the worst for dust), the shelf where the tea and coofee making facilities were and the shelf above the old fireplace. The electric cable for the kettle is so short it didn't reach the plug so had to place it on the carpet in order to use it? Not encountered this before. Also there was no seat or desk in the room but the photos upon booking showed different.

Nicely decorated Top room ok,but both of us kept hitting head on slanted interior ceiling over separate beds.We are both short and was peoblem getting in and out of bed.Would not suit someone over 6 foot. Did spoil stay a little.

Breakfast was good quality, with lots of choice for those who don't want a full English. Low sloping ceiling over bed - banged my head several times. Only one bedside lamp. Sink in bathroom was far too small and there was nowhere to hang any towels, other than one hook on the bathroom door. Maybe this would be best best as a single room? No brown sauce at breakfast!

Windows are so thing you could hear outside all night . The walls were thin so could hear people up all night untill 6am in the morning .

- Ruth (10/5): An excellent short break - Couldn't fault our short break. The barstaff kept the bar open for a nightcap even though we were late. And the cooked breakfast was awesome. Very comfortable bed. And they allowed dogs so all in all a successful stay thankyou.

Bed was comfortable. Good bar. Staff friendly. Overall, everything was clean and tidy. Good tea and coffee selection in the room. The shower was very fiddly and awkward to operate.

- Lesley (8/5): School friends reunion - The location and accommodation were lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly. My room was well set out, inviting and comfortable. Facilities were clean. Breakfast was good value and nicely cooked and presented. Not so much a didn't like as just a heads up for management. More attention to detail needed to deeper cleaning such as skirting boards and there was a stain on the carpet in my room. Though it didn't detract from my overall satisfaction, future travellers may consider it a point to moan about.
