Guest Reviews
- Vázquez Sánchez (9/5): Excelente -
- Javier (6/5): Excellent location, but not the best - I liked the art and the courtyard Only one towel and it didn’t meet my expectations for the price
- Gabriela (10/5): -
- Ochoa (10/5): -
- Hector Jose (9/5): Excelente, calidad / precio...
- Marcos (1/5): Te mienten y te hacen pagar El precio total. No respetan ninguna promocion. -
- Dahlia (8/5): -
- Laura (6/5): Dirty and full of humidity. - The location It is dirty, there is not hot water and a lot of smell of humidity. The pictures are a lie and they don't fit with the ones they publish. The only plug in the room was UNDER THE BED and it was in a horrible condition. I had to spend 12 minutes everyday with the water open waiting for it to get hot.
Verdaderamente, me sentí timada.
- Garcia (3/5): Poor - the building history It had no ventilation and heat accumulated
- N (1/5): Bad - Location ☹️ This hotel is uninhabitable. It smells awful, the faucet barely drips water, and there are stains on the ceiling. The property feels eerie and claustrophobic with no windows. Music plays late into the night. I had to sleep in my clothes and avoided the shower because it looked filthy. I woke up with red eyes, likely from an allergic reaction to the dust.
- Roberta (8/5): Lovely surroundings and super staff. - Friendly staff, clean, beautiful old building and furniture, quite and close to the center where we could people watch and enjoy activities. Because of the stone floors and dark room interior, it felt cold but blankets really helped.
- Jack (8/5): Very good - great location intermittent wifi, you will get hot shower if you are patient
- Olivia (8/5): An hotel with great character in an excellent location - It’s a beautiful building with lovely courtyards and salons. It’s very close to the cathedral.
- Rosaangelica (8/5): Very good -
- Aaron (7/5): Good - Friendly staff, beautiful hotel, great location, clean Wifi was weak, water very cold at times, and a heavy curtain in front of the door to block the light would be nice
- Rosa (8/5): Decent place to stay for a few nights. - The architecture of the place is like traveling through time. It’s very simple and covered our needs, mainly we used it to shower and sleep. The last night we stayed in the Meson, there was a party on the property behind and they were playing music until 2:00am. If you are a light sleeper search for a different place.
- Edson (10/5): - Muy practica, comoda y limpia!
- Kathleen (9/5): Superb -
- Chi (7/5): Good -
- Dana (3/5): Impossible to rest - Great location - other than that, nothing good to mention. Loud music pounding from 6 p.m until 2 a.m. There is an Irish pub downstairs that plays Death Metal and Irish punk SUPER loud, and since it's part of the hotel now - he leaves the door open. From the other side of the hotel, there is a nightclub that plays clubbing music until 2 a.m.
Also, the bed is so uncomfortable, the mattress and the pillows are so stiff. Made it really hard to sleep without waking up with a severe back and neck pain.
And last but not least, half of our stay - the water heating system didn't work.
- Andrade (9/5): Superb - The house was very beautiful and the bedroom as well. The location is very good, really near the center. The room was a bit dark.
- Gabriela (8/5): - Kind staff and walkable area with lots of options
- Rem (8/5): Quiet and comfortable stay! - Nice location, friendly staff! Nothing super special
- Janet (8/5): Very good -
- Vladimir (6/5): Close to the action and ample room but old infrastructure. - Great location, large room, nearby parking, comfortable bed, quality towels, excellent WoFo There were noisy neighbours in other rooms, and the staff was not there after 10pm to deal with it. The shower did not have a hot water despite following instructions to wait between 6 and 10 minutes.
- Wendy (9/5): Lovely old hotel very convenient to the Zocslo, clean and great staff. - Lovely historic hotel. Great location — short walk to the Zocalo, very helpful staff and clean. Beds are a bit too firm. Hot water not always very hot.
- Sandra (9/5): Superb - Super nice building
Located perfectly
Friendly stuff
- Laura (1/5): Stay away from this hotel - The location is very near from downtown Wood broken furniture.
Rusted metal furniture in bathroom.
No warm water.
- Susan (5/5): Lovely building and location, unfortunately the room did not live up to expectations - The room was large and it was a lovely rustic hotel. It was in a quiet area which was close to the centre. We had a lot of issues the first day, the toilet was broken, there was no shower head, minimal toilet paper and incomplete bed linen for 1 bed. There was no fan in the room so got very hot at night (only a very small window which could be opened) and the beds were uncomfortable.
The problems with the bathroom were fixed by the end of the following day so at least we could shower. The hot water was an issue though.
We didn’t feel as though the room was ready for guests.
- Ariana (6/5): Just Okay - Location was excellent Unclean room. Only one towel per guest. Loud music played until late into the night by staff. Black hairs in bathroom, I am blonde.
- pizzmunoz (4/5): Bare bones. I like rustic, but this is pushing it - I came here because of reviews on TripAdvisor. I see now that the good reviews are from years back. I checked in late, so I have no option of leaving. The place is dirty. There are hairs in the bathroom, not mine. There are hairballs and trash behind the bed. I got one stiff medium towel, no hand towels. I went out to buy better quality toilet paper and body soap. I should have gotten some Clorox wipes too. The couch has large holes. There are no plants in the patio like in the reviews. See the pics I have attached and go elsewhere for comfort.
- Valeria (1/5): Bad -
- Aaron (9/5): Superb - Beautiful older building with good size room for 2 people. Quiet street with room in back. Very well maintained property. Staff was helpful with recommendations where to eat, as there is no breakfast at the hotel. A suggestion.... since there is no meal plan post covid....provide coffee or tea only in the front courtyard for guests. Rise the room rate by 2 to 4 dollars. A real convenience and may provide a social benefit by meeting other guests.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb - Very good location, beautiful place, love the decorations No fans or Air conditioner
- Maria (4/5): Many misterious things happened in one night. - The property was beautiful. However, there are serious ghosts in the hotel. If you are up for a scary experience, visit this hotel. It scared me to death hearing children talking in the middle of the night outside my door and breaking things in the bathroom. When I talked to the manager, he said he never received a complain like this before, but I honestly doubt it. The location. At fist, we would like the fact that we practically had the entire hotel for us, as it was empty, but at night, we understood why.
- Alberto (9/5): Superb -
- Juan (7/5): Fair price, water runs coldish in the shower, a bit noisy as rooms face a courtyard -
- Pilar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (5/5): Passable -
- Linda (7/5): Great location, and friendly staff but noisy on weekends. - I really liked the location, it was very close and was walking distance to some of the activities I wanted to do. The staff were accommodating, some spoke English and that was very useful. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I didn’t realize that there wasn’t a coffee machine in the room nor was coffee available in the hotel. I would have also liked a cup to rinse my mouth after brushing my teeth. I did get there on Saturday night and it was a bit noisy till about 1:30 in the morning. Also the hallway light was on and I had typical teas sleeping
- 16jamesdoc (8/5): Ayenda legend - The San Sebastian, part of the Colombian Ayenda hotel group, is conveniently located in Puebla's city centre. It's a beautiful building said to be 400 years old, with two arcaded patios and furnished with impressive antiques and memorabilia.
There was hardly anyone else staying there so the staff and management made me welcome. Minor complaints are that the building can get cold at night and the water supply takes a while to heat up, but not unexpected for a 17th century building. Warmly (if that's the right word!) recommended.
- James (8/5): A gorgeous 17th century building probably a merchant's Palace in the past. - Helpful staff. Beautiful historic building with antique furnishings to enhance the atmosphere. A bit cold at night.
- Christine (8/5): Very good - location was great. We had trouble getting hot water.
- Lucy (8/5): Very good - The location and the staff It takes time to warm up the water to take a shower
- Krystyna (9/5): I would definitely stay here again! - The wonderful staff were friendly and very helpful and patient with my poor Spanish. Excellent location, lovely old house very nicely maintained and spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Very quiet except for three or so hours in the evening when the bar next door played some music, but this was only on 3 of the 7 nights I stayed and the music stopped at between 9 and 10 pm. The Wifi was not consistent in my room, but the staff would always do their best so that I could at least connect downstairs.
- Olga (9/5): Stunning historical building in a great location for great value - Location, the building Hot water supply
- Clopezto (6/5): Nice location, poor service - The hotel is very well located, close to the center. We had to pay 450$ extra for a 2 year old child, which slept in our bed!
Also the wifi didnt work for two days, at least they gave us a little discount as we asked.
- Zaragoza (10/5): Exceptional -
- Loui (7/5): Good - Great room, really Big wifi dident’ work
- Ilaria (9/5): Heemoso edificio en el centro de Puebla - Great position in the very city center, very nice building and room, very helpful staff, and very convenient price
- Anastasia (8/5): We stayed in 3 different rooms in 5 days. Fun upgrades, fun place, great location. -
- Ravtej (9/5): great location - location, decor, decent size. gutters smell, I guess that’s common here, small shower stall.
- Olga (7/5): I loved Puebla and the hotel was perfect for exploring it, with just a few minor things that could make a stay there eve - Amazing location and very beautiful property. And the staff are very very kind and helpful! My shower never got hot or even warm, and it’s a shame that there wasn’t a little cafe/restaurant right at the hotel to get a coffee and a bite to eat in the morning.
- Megan (9/5): Superb -
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
- Agnieszka (9/5): Superb - Great location, vert friendly staff, the hotel is set in a beautiful courtyard very close to the centre, but in a relatively quiet street, the rooms are very atmospheric If you're staying in the first courtyard, there's a bar which plays rather loud music until 11:30pm, so it might bother a bit; you need to run the water for a good few minutes before it gets hot
- Wendy (8/5): A lovely place to stay in Puebla. - The decoration and furniture. All the green spaces with fountains and sitting areas. Rooms are quite dark. The shower was cold and if you want warm water you have to wait and waste water.
- Miguel Ammiud Elim (8/5): Buena estancia - Estancia bien para dormir
Faltó agua caliente y papel de baño
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Lorraine (6/5): staff were great and helped us arranging taxi’s and storing luggage etc - it was about a block from the zocalo on a quite street with coffee/small convenience store close by. it’s a very old building which is very quaint there is not elevator, no ac, no ventilation. the room appears stylish with old antique furnishings but in closer inspection they are very tired and everything needs replacing. there is no hairdryer, no phone. the hot water does come to the sink after about 20 mins of wasting water and the shower got hot quicker but the shower head was terrible. I have had better showerhead and camp grounds in the US. the bed was skin size but only twin sized sheets! made. such a shame as this could be a great “bespoke” property with some upgrades
- Hilal (6/5): Pleasant -
- Oswaldo (10/5): Exceptional -
- MichelleC310 (4/5): The room, itself, lowers the rating - The good: Excellent location. Staff very helpful with restaurant suggestions and walking directions. The downstairs common areas looked like the family just left the place intact in the 1950’s. I enjoyed relaxing on the upstairs terrace.
The bad: The room, however, was bad. The mattress was hard, and all the pillows were lumpy. The room was dirty; the night table was so dusty, I could write my initials on it. The room also smelled musty (they could have aired it out before I arrived). The room had 2 large Art Deco pieces of furniture, but very little place to put my belongings. The armoire was locked, the other furniture was a woman’s “makeup table”. I’d ask the owner(s) to experience what it’s like to stay in that room: to pack a suitcase for a 2-wk. trip and stay in the room for 3 nights.
- Claudia (10/5): - Excellent location. very convenient.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - LA FALTA DE LIMPIEZA EN LAS HABITACIONES, LA QUE ME ASIGNARON AL PARECER NO HABIAN HECHO LA CAMA Y ME CAMBIARON DE HABITACION PERO TAMPOCO ESTABA MUY LIMPIA
- Silvia (10/5): Ruhig + Erholsam - Familiär und Ruhig 2 schöne Innenhöfe mit Brunnen und Pflanzen. Nettes Personal gutes WIFI. Restaurant im Haus. Nicht weit bis Zocalo.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A very classic well maintained centuries old property with an ideal location and a variety of rooms. Quiet neighbourhood. Pleasant courtyard. Friendly and helpful staff. Will stay here again if back in Puebla.
- wdmprevail (10/5): San Sabastion History - I am not a person who is interested in history, but Gabriel the guide made it fun to learn all about the town and its history. The lunch provided was authentic and very tasty, the staff did a great job. Really enjoyed the tiquiila tour and the tips to cook with it. Overall, it was a good day!
- Denis (8/5): - Chambre simple mais calme. Beaucoup de charme.
