The location is perfect for exploring the city—close to restaurants, attractions, and right in the heart of downtown. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service. Valet Mr. T stood out right away with his friendly attitude and efficiency. He made coming and going incredibly easy and always greeted us with a smile, which really set the tone for our visit. The front desk staff were equally wonderful. Every interaction was pleasant and professional—they were helpful with recommendations, quick with check-in and check-out, and always made us feel welcome. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. My room was spacious and quiet, making it easy to relax after a long day out in the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Milwaukee and would happily stay here again in the future.

Anthony greeted us right away and helped with parking and our bags, but it was more than just the help — it was the warm, genuine welcome that really set the tone for the whole stay. What a great way to start a trip! Then we checked in with Lindsay, and honestly, she is next level. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience feel personal and easy. You can tell she truly cares about the guests having a great stay. The hotel room itself was comfortable, clean, and amazing. If you’re staying here, I highly recommend upgrading to the king suite — totally worth it for the extra space and comfort. Without a doubt, this hotel and its employees were the highlight of my trip. These days when I check in I’m lucky to even get eye contact from the front desk person. Gracie was engaging and did all of it with a smile. The hotel is beautiful and the room is large and clean. The restaurant staff was engaging too and the food was really good. Overall a great experience.

Everyone was raving about it from front desk to bar to rooms to service. We came in this weekend for a comedy improv show, dinner at the swinging door and cocktails and a night at the Hilton. It was everything more than what we were told. 5 star service goes out to Abby and the front desk. The team was extremely pleasant helpful and considerate and Let’s not forget Dasani heading up the bar and crew. Superb!!!! Thanks Abby and thank you Hilton garden inn!

It was nice to see how much she also appreciated the beauty of the structure. I miss daily housekeeping. Let's transfer some of that excessive executive pay to hiring more housekeepers and really treat guests to a comfortable stay! Also, unfortunately, the hotel restaurant food left much to be desired. A good hotel restaurant is so important. I was hoping to invite friends to have dinner there with me but decided against it because I didn't enjoy either of the two meals I ate there. Also, I don't recall a dessert menu, although I may have just missed it.
• Dmytro (10/5): A piece of history - The history of the building makes it. It was a bank from 1886 to 1950s, and there are multiple doors with bank safe locks, especially those at the first floor. Plus these classic worn out stairs, the glass roof and other historical reminders. Food was great, and staff was welcoming. The "free internet" doesn't allow VPN connections, so you need something else if you plan to work remotely during your stay.

• Footprints322785 (10/5): Wonderful Hotel Staff and Comfortable, Gorgeous Surroundings - When we entered The Hilton Garden Inn, it felt like we were going back in time. The grand architecture, tiled floors and sweeping staircases of this former bank would make a perfect setting for a wedding. Even more impressive was the staff! From always pleasant and helpful Gracie at the front desk, to the friendly waitress at The Social, the restaurant on the main floor, the meticulous cleaning staff, and the ever hustling valets, we found the staff the highlight of this hotel. Thank you, Hilton Garden Inn, for such a comfortable stay in all respects!

Being in the Downtown area of a major city can come with its anxieties especially when being from small-town Northern Wisconsin but Ryan and his staff knocked it out of the park and made us feel like we were at home! I am typically pretty cheap and try to find street parking or a public ramp whenever possible but for the price and quality of the valet service at Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Downtown, I wouldn’t even consider it!

They were extremely busy but still somehow managed to be very personable and make everything seamless, even going above and beyond to make sure our experience was extraordinary. Even the relatively low cost of the service was a pleasant surprise. All things considered, I would never even think about a public parking option when lodging here even when traveling on a tight budget. It was the kind of experience that just set the tone for a great stay and a satisfying departure. Thanks again, Ryan!
• tomlV2519AG (4/5): Very low quality, dirty room. Do not recommend staying here. - VERY DISAPPOINTED. Unlikely that I will ever stay at a Hilton in the future. 1. No hotel parking. Closest public parking is a block away. 24hr valet service $40. No where on street to pull over for check-in. 2. I arrived for check-in at 1:35pm. Clerk said there was a $35 fee to check in before 2pm. I sat in a chair and stared at her for 25 minutes, then checked in without paying the $35 fee. How pathetic - a high quality hotel would have checked to see if a room was available early without a fee. 3. My room was disgusting as you can see from photos. Room #318. Dirty, dirty, dirty. Dirt and grime all over the carpet, stains on the linens, and mildew/peeling wallpaper and long black hairs throughout the bathroom. Yuck! And, when I went to take morning shower, the body wash container was empty. 4. The Hilton Honors program is also a joke. Unable to get points to register on app. This has been a non-functional app for me despite numerous calls to customer service. All I get out of it is nonstop email spam...I'm done with it, deleting the worthless app and no longer staying at Hiltons...

• 452generb (10/5): November 2025 - As I was looking for a place to spend our anniversary, I decided to book here to be in the city. The atmosphere was really nice and clean. Lindsey and the staff were very welcoming and even surprised us with a bottle of champagne as a gift to celebrate. If we decided to do another staycation this is the first hotel on my mind.
• gtv66 (10/5): The nicest Hilton Garden Inn - This is hands down the nicest Hilton Garden Inn I have stayed at. Super cool old historic building, very clean and friendly, helpful staff. Only did one night and didn’t get to see a lot of the area, but seems to be within walking distance of a lot in downtown. Highly recommend.

• kdM517XL (10/5): Keagan Dittel - Thank you Gracie!! - I have been frequenting this hotel since I picked up business here a few months ago. The staff is nothing short of respect respectful and they go out of their way to really make their guest feel welcomed. I had a long day and my customers Plant and Gracie behind the scenes put 2 beers in a bucket in my room. It was a pleasant surprise when I got up to my room. I thought that was very sweet. She is very welcoming and goes above and beyond.
• Bianca (8/5): It was perfectly adequate with very nice interior architectural charm as a bonus. - Location was perfect, super close to everything we wanted to see, and there's a lot to see within walking distance. Hotel interior is beautiful. Bed was comfy. Plenty of hot water and good shower pressure. Room had amazing high ceilings and windows. Front desk staff was very nice. Valet staff was very nice. Complimentary bottles of water. Breakfast was good, a choice of buffet or menu items, and I was very happy that I was allowed to order a kid's meal off the menu for $6 (I don't eat much breakfast). Great drink menu at the bar. When we checked in, I asked about the $10 breakfast that I thought I got through Booking.com, but the hotel knew nothing about it and told me the buffet breakfast was $16.95. However, I was able to order off the menu which had better prices. I didn't like paying $39 for parking (but I guess that's standard for all hotels downtown). Our shower leaked, but that was more of a problem for the hotel than for us. And also, we noticed a table in the 3rd floor lobby hallway that had old room service glasses that sat there for over 24 hours!

• mariahj350 (10/5): Lovely experience at the Hilton Garden Inn - We stayed at the Milwaukee Hilton Garden Inn Downtown as part of a wedding party. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the service and amenities were phenomenal. Lindsay, the Front Office Manager, was the most professional and friendly person I have had the pleasure to interact with in a long time. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in downtown Milwaukee.

• Deanna (6/5): Honey pot in the city - well -- i was not aware there was no parking and had to valet our car for an extra $39 a day. But Vince was a delight, full of knowledge and a beautiful personality. The location was close to many attractions and easy to get around the fact that I had to pay extra for parking, breakfast, there was mold in the bathroom that I photographed and the wedding party in the room next to us was very disturbing.

She was customer service at the finest and helped us quickly check in, provide directions and info on various attractions and restaurants and was all around ‘good people’!! • dsl793 (10/5): Second Time Around - I stayed here last year and enjoyed it so much that I decided to do it again this past week. First off, the building is gorgeous and historic. Definitely take time and explore every open space and plaque that detail the building's past. Second, and most importantly, it's a great place to stay. As with every Hilton Garden Inn that I've stayed at, it's clean and comfortable, with friendly service. Lastly, the location is perfect and walkable to all the fun parts of Milwaukee.

• collinsj8087 (10/5): Couldn't ask for more - My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for a wedding around the corner at the Pfister and we couldn't have had a better stay. Our room was large for a two queen standard room and had updated amenities and was immaculately clean. The host checking us in was very warm and friendly as was the staff at Social, their lobby watering hole/restaurant.

They all went above & beyond, even showing a little history lesson on the hotel! Want to give an extra shout out to Mr. T, who was always at the door greeting us with a smile and friendly, cheerful conversation! So helpful! Would definitely come back again!

Bardzo dobra lokalizacja w centrum, blisko do zwiedzania wszystkich atrakcji, w tym do Milwaukee Art Museum, River Walk i Jeziora Michigan. Parking wzdłuż ulicy przy hotelu lub 100 m dalej. Śniadanie bardzo przeciętne i niezbyt miła obsługa na śniadaniu.

I know staff can be overworked as not many people want to work anymore, but when things are visible, it makes me wonder about sheets and carpet cleanliness.

He offered if we needed any help which we didn’t but my friends suitcase wouldn’t stay standing up so he insisted to carry it up the stairs for her. That actually helped her.. he also has a cute butt!!
• R6676HOeddiep (10/5): Octoberfest at the Hilton Garden Inn - Right away we were Greeted by Mr. T who helped us quickly understand the valet situation which was a very cool convenient online system. He was very helpful and made our arrival very easy. We then met Lindsay at the front desk. Likewise, she was very friendly and welcoming and she helped us find our way to the Octoberfest that evening. She was polite and let us know that she’d be there to help if there was anything we needed. The room and hotel were very beautiful and the original architecture came through. Very nice hotel and I’d recommend it to anyone.

He gave us great recommendations for dinner and made sure we got our car on time. Truly just an amazing person and great at his job. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were big. The breakfast was also wonderful and all the waitstaff were attentive and helpful. Overall great experience and location. Will stay here again!!

We especially like the gentlemen in valet Vince and Mr T. we had a very enjoyable chat with him about what we were in town for. The breakfast was extra but it was worth it the food was very good.
