Warum auch immer 😊 Das Zimmer was sehr groß und ok. Aber für den Preis zu einfach gehalten. Super Frühstücksbuffet, sehr nettes und immer hilfsbereites Personal. Unsere Buchung hat den Transfer vom Bahnhof und zum Flughafen beinhaltet. Wie gesagt, die Suite ist zwar sehr groß, aber für den Preis sehr einfach gehalten. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist hier nicht gerechtfertigt!

• Nicolaas (3/5): Too noisy! Needs serious soundproofing to live up to the standards of how nice it looks. - Looks very nice! The property has a big issue with noise. There seems to be no soundproofing which is a problem as you are close to the river. So you regularly hear those crazy karaoke boats passing during all day and evening. My room was downstairs and the footsteps on both the staircase and the room upstairs are super loud. Also staff is clueless about logistics: they mixed up my tours, they told me my flight was delayed and latened my driver, this was due to them looking at the wrong flight, so I almost missed my actual flight. I even asked them about it, they rechecked and reconfirmed...

They have free bicycles, but we were not told until we asked at checkout. The beds were too hard for our liking. The food from the breakfast buffet was not very warm, except for the eggs prepared in front of us. No coffee latte or cappuccino. Black coffee with hot milk. Transfer to/from airport or train station was not competitively priced.

• Kyle (9/5): A serene property with a lot of history. - Victoria XiengThong is located right in the midst of all the shops, restaurants, and temples of Luang Prabang. It is a beautiful property with history of the Royal Family. Highly recommend. It is quite an expensive stay for Luang Prabang.
• Andreas (10/5): Where Heritage Meets Heartfelt Hospitality - What we particularly loved about our stay: The Victoria Xiengthong Palace is a truly charming and historic property — once the residence of the last royal family of Laos — and it beautifully preserves that sense of heritage and grace. The hotel is immaculate, tastefully maintained, and radiates timeless elegance in its authentic Lao-colonial style. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always eager to assist with genuine warmth and care. Service was flawless, including excellent transport arrangements to the airport, train station, and local excursions. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay, felt wonderfully relaxed, and genuinely well looked after. A perfect haven in the heart of Luang Prabang. There was absolutely nothing to criticise about the hotel itself — everything was truly perfect in every respect. However, one aspect that affected the overall experience in Luang Prabang (and not the hotel) deserves to be mentioned. It appears that large-scale tourism, particularly from organised tour groups, has significantly changed the character of this once serene and spiritual town. The atmosphere in certain public places — such as the National Museum or the morning alms-giving ceremony — can at times feel overwhelming and rather chaotic, leaving little of the quiet respect that once defined these experiences. This is, of course, beyond the control of the hotel, but it does impact how international visitors perceive the charm and authenticity of Luang Prabang. We sincerely hope that the local authorities will find ways to preserve the city’s unique cultural heritage and restore the peaceful spirit that makes it so special.
• Yu (10/5): - I stayed at Victoria Xiengthong Palace for 3 nights and had a truly memorable experience. The pre-arrival communication was smooth, and the complimentary airport transfer made the arrival stress-free. My room was very clean with beautiful Lao-style interior design, which gave me a real sense of the local culture. The staff were attentive and always thoughtful, which made me feel very welcome. Breakfast was à la carte with several options to choose from, so I never got bored even after 3 mornings. The hotel is located right next to the UNESCO World Heritage temple, which makes the atmosphere especially calm and quiet both day and night. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay in Luang Prabang, I highly recommend this hotel.

A very nice balcony view of the Mengkong River. Maybe because it's next to the river, there are more mosquitoes than I expected. Good thing that the electric mosquito swatter in the room comes in handy.

Our room (upgrade?) was amazing with sitting room, jacuzzi and very comfy bed plus spacious balcony overlooking the garden, lovely place to sit. Very quiet and peaceful. The restaurant is excellent, we recommend the traditional set menus. Breakfast buffet the best we've ever had. Very hard to find fault! Mini-bar could have been better stocked and colder, but they did bring us ice immediately we asked for it.

• Tadao (10/5): - 良かった点： スタッフが親切で親身に対応してくれる。朝食も毎日変化し、おいしい。部屋も広く快適。2階建てのコテージが複数建っている形式。 ホテルの前で托鉢がみられる。ワット・シェントーン至近。中心街からも近く便利だが、人通りは少なく静かな場所。 ホテル独自のツアーや、料理教室などもある。レストランからメコン川もみられる。 悪かった点： シャワー側のお湯はでたが、バスタブ側のお湯は低温、かつ水をはるのに時間がかかるくらい水の出が悪い。 暑い国の夏場の暑さ対策として、日陰の涼しい部屋つくりになっており、1階の部屋は日当たりはそれほどよくなく暗い。冬の朝晩は、クーラーしかない（暖房はない）ので、温かい服装は準備した方がよい。

Ask the reception about what this place used to be - I'm so surprised to find out that was King Savang Vadhana last resident before the monarchy ended in the 1970s. It added great story for my trip to Luang Prabang. The staff are always nice and helpful. Nothing to complain about, except for this price you might expect something more luxurious and a bit smaller than I thought. Maybe a bit of design on decoration on the lobby and the outdoor area. Overall for me it's great as it is.

• Rayberkeleynorthside (10/5): Sweet memories of the Victoria Suite at XienThong Palace - Very beautiful and comfortable hotel. We reserved the Victoria Suite for six nights. The very friendly and helpful staff welcomed us with cooling towels and chilled tea and a very efficient check in service. We were guided to our second story lodging with a beautiful view of the pond and gardens. The room is quite large as is the sitting area and outside balcony. The bed is wonderfully firm and comfortable as are the pillows. The bathroom is very big and has a strong rain shower and you get lots of fluffy big white towels. Towels replaced often. The writing desk is in a somewhat odd place but we were here to relax. Huge closet with lots of hangers and drawers. Big inside sitting area under a strong ceiling fan. The air conditioning system of the room is very good. Very secure, clean and cozy room. The breakfasts were very good, just enough to choose from and not too much. How about a Mekong River view with your breakfast? Wifi throughout the property worked well. The hotel is well located at the end of the peninsula thus very quiet. The best part is the staff. Always. Thank you. Need more towel bars in the bathroom please. Also, I’m not a fan of the top-mounted sink, beautiful but impractical as water seems to always splash over. Also, there are far too many white tourist vans in Luang Prabang. There has to be a better solution to the onslaught of day trippers.
• Jeffrey (10/5): Wonderful, just needs reliable wifi - Excellent, friendly staff. Great location. (Note that the River View rooms are not actually on the river, but they do have glimpses of the river) Wonderful breakfast in a lovely restaurant setting by the street. Rooms are very nice, good-sized. Our only complaint is there was no wifi in our rooms for our entire 5-day stay. We asked for that to be fixed several times, but it never was. We had to sit in the reception office to do a video call and to do our internet tasks. But if that is fixed, or if you don’t need wifi, this is a great place to stay.
• Khaisri (7/5): Should have been better. - The location by the Khong River and next to Chieng Thong temple is unbeatable. All the staffs are very helpful and enthusiastic. The hotel buildings is a nicely renovated old house complex, a great asset to Luang Prabang old town. One of the two rooms we booked has a window view to the hotel service area. However, the staff upgraded us to two nice suites though they have the Khong River view blocked by a roof. But the worse thing was that the hot water shower in one of the rooms wasn't work despite the fixing and the water was not filtered to be clean enough so I've had alergy until now.

Just far enough outside of the main part of town to enjoy the quiet and peaceful nature of the Mekong, but easily walkable to all of the tourist areas. They provided help with all of the tours for very reasonable prices and I even took a cooking class on site that was an amazing experience that included shopping at the morning market. If you can spring for the executive suite and enjoy your private jacuzzi room, well worth it!

• Cordula Verena (10/5): - It's a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. There was a hiccup with the room initially -- not the hotel's fault. The website pictures didn't match with what we saw. This is because every room is different. They were very quick to help us, and everything worked out. It was a great stay, and the staff are truly engaged and helpful. The location of the hotel is quiet, yet just a short walk to the main road, night market etc. Given that the building was previously a palace, it is very charming and unique. Highly recommend the Victoria Xiengthong for a special Luang Prabang experience.

We had a boat trip to the 1000 Buddha cave, arranged by the hotel what was amazing. Perfectly organised a great lunch, provided by a staff member Chenleng. He provided us with everything we needed during the trip. This hotel is worth every penny and truly gives you a five star experience.. nothing...

• Aloysius (8/5): Serene Hotel by the Mekong River with Excellent Location - Excellent location in a quiet and serene part of Luang Prabang by the Mekong river. The hotel is situated in historical neoclassical buildings that is situated very near all the major attractions, such as Wat Xiengthong (2 mins), the bridge across the Nam Khan river (10 mins), Phousi Hill (10 mins), the Royal Palace (10 mins), night market at Sakkaline Road (15 mins), and other parts of the city center. There are plentiful of great restaurants, cafes, and eateries around, all of very high quality. The view and walkway by the river is sublime, with a great overview of the Mekong river, which you can also hitch a boat ride on. The hotel upgraded my room to a suite, which is great. The room was a 2 storey chalet like accomodation which was very spacious. The bathroom provided premium bath products. There was a jacuzzi in the upgraded suite, but the water is too cold for it to be really used at all. Some of the tiles in the room looks a bit dated. Tried using the reception a couple of times but it's not really working, so you have to go to the counter to request for additional service that you might need. The lush surroundings, though very serene and beautiful, also means you'll need to watch out for mosquitoes. The breakfast was above average, less than what is expected of a hotel of this type.
• Samantha (8/5): Great stay in Luang Prabang - Victoria Xiengthong hotel was located in a perfect area. It was easily walkable to major sights such as temples, the night market, town. The staff are welcoming, kind and helpful. The bathroom was not updated, so it had a bit of a rustic fell. The room itself was large and clean though.
• Pim-uma (7/5): Beautiful and Well Located Hotel but Not Very Comfortable - Nicely decorated hotel located by the river in a peaceful and laidback area of Luang Prabang with short walking distance to town center. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very dark with not enough lightings. Some light bulbs were also broken. Wooden chairs provided in the room were really not comfortable. In the bathroom, there were badly clogged drains and the sink was poorly positioned making us to awkwardly bend over every time we used it. Room rate was too pricey compared with the country's cost of living. Breakfast was just okay. No swimming pool and no wi-fi service provided.
• Jo-ann (8/5): Very good - - location on the river - old rooms which were full of character - woken at 4am by roosters and then building work in the village at 6pm. We were moved without fuss to a room overlooking the river which we appreciated - the staff do not speak much English so it was difficult to communicate at times. However they were very sweet and were trying hard.

• nhan quang (10/5): A quick but peaceful and relaxing stay - We enjoyed the peacefulness and excellent location of the resort..with Mekong riverside and Vat Xiengthong nearby...the service offered by staff was super as well..we're well taken care by Tri, the manager...whpse professional service and care were highly appreciated by our group.
