Guest Reviews
- Lisa (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast buffet, and great recommendations for dinner in Olympia. We would definitely recommend.
- Richard (10/5): - Thank you!!! They were so helpful with both mailing a key for us, and then we forgot our medicine, but they made sure we got it!! Thank you again.
- Mary (10/5): - Very clean, and staff was very friendly. Reasonable price.
- Katherina (10/5): - We had the best time! Everything you need for your visit in the area (Ancient Olympia is just under 2 kilometers away) is provided. They take great care of you as a guest, always keeping in mind that you are here to relax. The pool was a highlight in this beautiful garden! A clear recommendation!
- PANOS (10/5): - The hotel is excellent except for the shower curtain - don’t expect that in a 4-star hotel - and the lack of a simple wire rack at the balcony for drying swim costumes, a must have. The staff are super friendly and professional even though they pull 18-hour shifts daily (yes, that’s the tourism industry in Greece). Dinner buffet is the best option in town. I’d go back, and that says everything.
- Mike (10/5): - The restaurant staff are delivering an excellent service far above the very good hotels in Greece
- Ivano (10/5): - Molto accogliente. Ottima prima colazione. Pulito.
- Marjorie (10/5): - Big room…lots of green space…beautiful Mountain View..complimentary bottle of wine
- Ping (10/5): - Warm welcome, friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms, beautiful environment, delicious food, close to town and attractions.
- Karen (10/5): Good place near Olympia - Great hotel value. Property is surrounded by orange and olive trees and beautiful views from balcony. Location is close to the town and archeological site.
- Demetrios (10/5): - Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. Great staff, plentiful buffet, easy parking , pool area was great. Would stay again
- Jerome (10/5): - We enjoyed the "resort like atmosphere". It was a nice break from our short term property rentals during our trip to Greece. The hotel was close to all attractions around Olympia..
- Graciela (6/5): - The outside of the hotel and the lobby was nice. The rooms are old. The carpets on the hall are hold. We had rain abd therec was leaking on the roof. Onec off the waitress was rude.
- Adena (10/5): - We found the hotel very good. It was clean, comfortable and a nice relaxing spot. The price was good.
- Eileen (10/5): - We greeted by a very pleasant front desk staff and quickly given our room. Very spacious lobby. Bright and inviting. This hotel hosts bus tour groups and settled them very quickly. Beautiful pool.
- Chantal (8/5): - Very friendly and efficient staff, especially at breakfast. Loved the spacious lobby and corridors and low lying scale of the building. Swimming pool and surrounding area nice.
Only issue was that there were several coach parties staying so evening meal and breakfast was a bit of a scrum.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Will come back again for a relaxing stay - We had a great experience at the hotel, enjoyed the pool area and surrounding garden, savoured the dinner and breakfast and we're treated with courtesy and professionalism from the staff.
- ELIZABETH (8/5): - Great staff, air conditioning that worked properly.
- Matthias (10/5): - Super Service, toller Pool.
Petit dejeuner tres bon egalement. Chambre spacieuse
- Kristin (10/5): - Beautiful views, staff was AMAZING, good food. Exceeded my expectations!
- Kristen (8/5): - Hotel Amalia Olympia is perfect for what I needed it to be. I was there for one night and wanted something with easy parking in close proximity to the archeological site. It fit the bill. It's a little bit outside of town so it's not possible to walk to restaurants or anything, however if you have a car it's a very quick and easy drive. The facilities are a little tired but also perfectly adequate. It was not warm enough to use the pool when I stayed here but it looked like a good amenity. Lots of tour groups stay here because it is a large property.
- Brian (10/5): - We loved our stay the staff were helpful & amazing
- Dale (8/5): - Okay hotel if you are visiting the anc Olympia site
Nice pool and standard hotel rooms
The breakfast and dinner was not overly great
- marie-caroline (10/5): - Wonderful hotel, nice clean rooms, excellent restaurant for dinner and breakfast, and very friendly staff.
- Mushtaq (6/5): - We got two rooms. Going back and forth between our room and children’s room was not convenient. There was no connecting door. We had to go outside and then go from the individual room’s doors.
- Sophie (8/5): - Dans l’ensemble, c’était bien.
- Jose (10/5): - Ubicación y personal muy atento
- Lourdes (10/5): - Hotel is nice and comfortable
The pool is big and the gardens are also nice
The rooms are ok size, the bed and pillows comfortable
Breakfast buffet is really good and was included
Is 8 min from the town and Ancient Olympia
- kenneth (10/5): Great stay - Hotel was great, meals are excellent so take advantage. We used as a base to explore the area and it was ideal. Our daughter loved the poll and the staff were helpful and friendly.
- LAURENCE (10/5): - Everything was wonderful !!
The hotel is very clean, the staff so nice and helpful particulary at the restaurant and reception !!
Very good breakfast ans dinner
Thank you for all !!
- Francois (8/5): - The staff was excellent and the food was good , the only thing the rooms are very dated . Other the that a great place to stay and close to Olympic park ruins.
- Edward (10/5): - Great location, very clean, helpful staff.
- Gretchen (10/5): - The location was excellent. Check in and out was smooth. Beds were comfortable and we had a bath tub which was nice. My only complaint was the lack of channel options on the tv. Every other hotel we stayed at had Netflix so the we could watch things in English
- Phillip (10/5): Beautiful hotel, large and airy. - Beautiful hotel, large and airy ! rooms large, beds firm. Nice pool, convenient on-site parking. Good breakfast. Excellent for the money.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the quiet location, the easy parking, how nice and open the common areas were, and the pool was wonderful to jump into after a long day of driving.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel Amalia Olympia was wonderful for many reasons, but the most important one was that we arrived on the late side and the staff person who checked us in (I'm sorry that I have forgotten her name!) could see that we were exhausted and so hot from our long drive that she checked us in quickly and told us to go have some time in the pool -- she even gave us an extra 15 minutes beyond the closing time -- then shower and come back down to complete the check-in process. We did just that and it was the perfect thing to do.
We ended up having dinner at the Hotel dinner buffet and just relaxing and visiting with other people. The gift shop was great fun and we finally were able to buy a road map for the Peloponnese -- which could have saved us some of the hand-wringing we experienced that day driving from Athens!
We totally recommend this hotel and can't wait to return.
- David (8/5): Perfect overnight stay - Perfect overnight stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Spacious room with great breakfast - Pleasant surprise after stays in several other traditional Greek hotels. Nice finishes, spacious rooms and added touches like crisp sheets, and complimentary water and slippers, felt luxurious in comparison. Interactions with staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. The breakfast buffet was traditional Greek, very good, and well stocked. Some aspects of the room were a bit old, but nothing that caused a problem.
- Michael S. (10/5): Great place to stay - Everything was fantastic.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Modern with amenities, clean and convenient to Olympia
- AlexKalos (10/5): - A wonderful grand Hotel with old world elegance. Great location and very attentive staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice helpful staff. Nice clean hotel. Good stay and good price.
- Suman (10/5): - Great
- Maj (10/5): Modern architecture - Unique modern architecture in this spacious hotel is worth a visit in its own. There aren’t many hotels around like this.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The architecture by Nikos Valasmakis is momumentale. See loby
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Staff - Bad beds. - We have mixed feelings about this hotel. We were there with extended family in several rooms. The staff at this hotel is fabulous - top notch. They were accommodating and helpful when a member of the family was sick. They also made it easy for another part of the family to change rooms when their Air Conditioner did not work properly. That said, the furnishing of the hotel are desperately in need of replacement. The chairs in all our rooms were dirty, stained and nasty. One chair even had a sewing needle stuck in it and exposed. Lucky no one sat on it. They were too dirty to sit in comfortably. The beds were uniformly hard as rocks with little give. It was only because of exhaustion that anyone fell asleep on the uncomfortable beds. The linens were clean, but some were heavily worn.
The rooms were otherwise fine and roomy. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The grounds were well maintained and the pool was a great relief. Given how great everything else was, it was a surprise and disappointment that the furniture was uniformly unpleasant or uncomfortable or both.
- Nurit (8/5): - Very good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff friendly and helpful. Made to feel very welcome and looked after us very well. Location ideal and hotel comfortable. Would stay again.
- Russ (10/5): Gold medal for the stay.Bronze medal for the bed. - This was a nice hotel overall. Very clean and staff was very nice. The breakfast was included with the room and was delicious. The only improvement needed was the bed was very hard and less comfortable. Great location being 5 min drive to the Olympic archeological site.
- David (10/5): Great place for Olympia - Just outside of Olympia within easy reach to the sites with a car. The hotel was in great condition and we were made very welcome on arrival. Nice touch in the room with a welcome bottle of wine.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very pleasant stay in Olympia - We had a very pleasant two night stay. Staff was welcoming and friendly, hotel was very clean and comfortable. Hotel is a short drive to downtown Olympia and archaeological site.
- Brad (2/5): - Never go back. Terrible property. Wi-Fi doesn’t work, AC didn’t work in 2 of our 3 rooms. The hotel management called one of our party an idiot stating the AC couldn’t possibly be broken, and that you are clearly not smart enough to figure out the controls. Beds should have been thrown out decades ago. If it wasn’t so dirty, sleeping on the floor would have been softer and more comfortable than that bed.
This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Period.
- John (8/5): - This was a nice place but needs some finishing touches. There were no pictures on the walls, so it appears as if the Amalia just took over and haven't upgraded yet. The Lobby and the landscape are waiting for someone to come and decorate them. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hotel set in ideal setting close to Olympia.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location leaves a bit to be desired and the decor and furnishings could use an update. Sort of like a Greek Overlook hotel. The pool was nice.
- Kai (10/5): good choice - super friendly service, far more than expected
nice pool and good food
lovely balcon for chiling out
quite area, but only five min drive from the attractions
- Borys (10/5): Spacious hotel in a beautiful location - We stayed for one night. Amazing property, beatiful views, lush vegetation. Short drive to city centre and the main ancient site. Roaming data service is very unreliable in Peloponez. Driving from Epidavros and Nafplion, we took a wrong turn as Google Maps were not updating the position, and followed old road No. 74. Beautiful scenic drive, with some charming towns, a lot of twists and turns on very narrow mountainous road. It was quite a drive, took us 2 hrs to cover 65 km.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close drive to museum and town and archelogical sites
- Bill (10/5): very nice hotel - Very nice quiet hotel. You are completely surrounded by olive trees. You are a few minutes from Olympia
- chris (8/5): - Good clean hotel. Would recommend to anyone staying in Olympia.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A bit remote but very nice swimming pool, and clean/comfort throughout hotel and room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing staff , at an excellent facility!! - Everything was perfect!!!! Very pleased at any aspect of my stay!!!
- likr to enjoy (10/5): Lovely spacious rooms. Clean. Beautiful pool - We had 5 lovely relaxing nights. Quiet. Very clean. Breakfast good. Very nice rooms. Staff helpful. In greece this was the best one. A lot of hotels say 4 star but to Australians they would rate 2. But here is definitely a 4 to 5 star.
- cathy (10/5): - Poor wi fi in room. Everything else outstanding.
- Dianne (6/5): A stay in Olympia - The beds in this hotel were like sleeping on concrete. My hips were sore. The pillows were too high. The lobby was very noisy when we checked in and children were riding their scooters around. The buffet was very ordinary. The staff were very helpful and friendly. In the room there were no tissues, shower cap, hand lotion or conditioner. Not good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good old fashioned hotel - stayed 3 days liked the big rooms & comfortable beds great breakfast average dinner should have reminders for guest not to slam doors and bike/scooter facilities for guests without cars.
- pedro (10/5): peacefullness - Wonderfull
- Jennifer (10/5): Good location and comfortable room - We chose this hotel for its proximity to the archaeological remains of Olympia. It was much larger than we realized, and we were very early in the season so there were few guests, but the service was friendly and helpful and we were satisfied with the room and the breakfast and dinner we ate there.
- Chris (10/5): Wonderful hotel close to ancient Olympia. - We stayed a week here and saw the hotel full when the coach tours came in and quiet on days they did not. Great service all the time with friendly English speaking staff, WiFi good all over the hotel, but of course slower when the hotel was busy. The breakfast buffet was great every day with personal service from the staff. The evening buffet was also good with lots of choice, but there are lots of restaurants in the area so we only ate there once.
- Theodora (10/5): - We went to Archaia Olympia as part of a road trip around the Peloponese. We stayed there for two nights. The hotel is situated in easy distance from the archaeological site ( although car is required , not sure if there is public transport) in beautiful natural surroundings. The rooms ( including the bathroom) are very big and spotless clean. The actual common areas are massive. The personnel is fantastic : very polite and obliging- one of the best I have ever come across. The breakfast buffet is very good too ( although no fresh orange juice was provided , had to ask). And generally it was great value for money. i would definitely recommend this hotel and I would go back.
- Juan (8/5): Nice confortable oasis near Olympia - Wonderful large hotel near Olympia great for relaxing after visiting Olympia with a great swimming pool. Very friendly staff and about five minute drive from city center and archeological site and museum. However we were the only guests stating at the hotel that evening so as we were three guests they just gave us an extra room for comfort no charge.
- CrayolaLife (6/5): Overall - mediocre, nothing special good or bad - the hotel is mediocre overall, nothing special. everything down the middle. value is not bad. location is pretty good. hotel is somewhat old. too bad no internet, that was disappointing. staff is friendly
