- Verified traveler (8/5): Great breakfast - Fantastic breakfast, service and location right by Platypus Walk. A great place to stay but our rooms was hot and small with thin walls so we heard snoring from next door all night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Home-made stewed fruits - The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable, but the bathroom had obviously not been used (or cleaned) for a while - resident daddy long-legs spiders and webs present, some dust under the claw-footed bath and quite a dust collection under the bed. However, the towels were changed after our first night and bed made up (unsure whether sheets were changed or not). Cooked breakfast was set but good - poached eggs, toast, mushrooms, tomato, bacon. Home-made stewed fruits were delicious - rhubarb or apple and blackberry. Small/basic selection of cereals - weet-bix, cornflakes + 1 other (just right?).

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cambridge House is a lovely heritage property set in beautiful grounds which go right down to the Kermandie River. If your lucky, like us, you’ll catch a glimpse of the resident platypus. Our room, The Giffen, was spacious, immaculate & spotless. The bed was very comfortable & we slept soundly in this peaceful haven. It is handy to the shops & great restaurants in Geeveston. I recommend ‘The Bank’. Karen & Glen we’re welcoming hosts & the breakfast was hearty & delicious. We look forward to returning to stay here again & highly recommend it as a comfortable stopover.

- Linda (8/5): Relax and support the locals! - Don't get me wrong this was a lovely chance to rest and relax. But the accommodation is a bit tired. Our bathroom was across the hall & wasn't convenient, especially at 3am! Also very small. The furnishings are traditional with the heritage theme, but could use some updating. As with most B&B's it was a bit noisy, you can hear the other people. Glen & Karen cooked a beautiful hot breakfast! Karen was very friendly and helpful too. There is a creek close by with is a lovely walking track. Yes we would stay here again, but ask for a different room next time. One with a bit more space. Pretty cottage, pretty garden.

- Di (10/5): - My friend, with whom I shared a room, and myself highly recommend staying at Cambridge House. I stayed there a couple of years ago so knew I would not be disappointed. Karen and Glen are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious and set you up for the day. The beds are comfortable and the rooms very clean and well laid out. If you are planning on visiting the beautiful Huon Valley this is the home in which to stay and don't forget to check out the platypus playing in the stream which runs alongside their property.

- Pinky (10/5): Beautiful Home with Lovely Gardens - This was my first experience in a B&B and I was impressed. The home is gorgeous and the garden is beautiful. We loved seeing the platypus in the river at the bottom of their garden. The owners were warm and friendly. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Breakfast was scrumptious with cereal, toast, jams, and a selection of hot food cooked to order. Our room was comfortable and had a heater and pedestal fan but no airconditioner. We had a fridge and kettle with plenty of teabags and coffee. The bed was lovely with clean crisp sheets and we had a brilliant sleep. The ensuite was great with luxurious Sheridan towels. The shower was excellent with lots of hot water. The location is fantastic and walking distance to the park and platypus river and we also walked to a Turkish restaurant for a nice dinner. The Internet was quite good. We would love to stay here again.
- Duncan (8/5): Comfortable cottage in in tranquil surrounds - CAmbridge Cottage was very comfortable with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The gardens were very pleasant and we thrilled at the opportunity to see Platapus in the creek that ran alongside the property.

Platypus in river at bottom of garden a real bonus. Geeveston is a great place to stay close to Hobart, Bruny Island & Tahune Airwalk. Would recommend both to anyone.

Beautiful surroundings and Karen directed me to see the local platypus in the river at the bottom of the garden. Recommend Cambridge house highly.

Both were very knowledgeable and let us know what local spots we should see while in the area and were very helpful with any questions we had. Especially liked the big breakfast in the morning (will have to work them off now!) and was really happy that we'd chosen to have the Mary room as it had an ensuite. If you do stay here, please do yourself and call into the Information Centre. Linda has a wealth of information about the area and the Information Centre itself is pretty awesome. Cambridge House is located right near a stream that has platypus in it, so if staying here, be sure to check them out too.

- Liz (10/5): Lovely Old World Charm - Cambridge House was a lovely stay overnight. Stairs were high (to carry our suitcases), but all good. Hosts were very hospitable. Lovely garden. Excellent full breakfast, which was included in price. Certainly value for money. Would stay again if visiting down that way again.

Staff extremely helpful, and home cooked breakfast was perfect. Combine with Taveston Sky walk or other Huonvalley activity. 1 night not enough to enjoy fully.
- Trish (10/5): Great Location - Geeveston is a great place to stay, as it gives you access to many of the wonders of South Eastern Tasmania. Cambridge House is very comfortable, and has platypus in its garden. First time I have ever seen platypus in the wild! From here we visited the Air Walk and the Huon Pine Forest on the Huon River - very beautiful and then travelled south along the southern coast. Such beauty...and we were fortunate to come across an Elephant Sea on the beach of Southport. Geeveston itself boasts a very interesting information centre, an excellent café with pastries that are worth every calorie and a master sushi chef that makes sushi on Thursdays and Fridays. Nearby Franklin also has some good eating places.

- Melanie (10/5): What a find! - Cambridge House was beautiful. Such a wonderfully relaxing spot to unwind after a very busy day of sightseeing and walking. We loved the quaint bed room, beautiful gardens (with a platypus in the property's stream) and friendly hospitality. We felt at ease at all times during our stay. We particularly enjoyed the home-cooked breakfast and stewed rhubarb, which was grown on site. Perfection!
- Neil (2/5): Our Booking was cancelled because, can only guess - We were told just before check in that our booking, taken abut 3 days previous, was cancelled because room was double booked, but we had been booked into a cheaper motel. The motel was ok for the price but was not the standard we were looking for, and did not include breakfast. Even though the CH advert clearly states breakfast cooked to order daily, the owner told me breakfast was not included when I asked if the motel included breakfast. Clearly this was a lie. I understand, bookings are regularly cancelled by CH and rebooked at the motel. I suggest people look elsewhere if they want certainty that booking will be honoured. Cant comment on the general standards of the place other than that so have generously given them 3 out of 5.

Don't miss this lovely B&B if you are in Geeveston. It was a great location to drive to the airwalk, and drive to nearby attractions. Our hosts were so lovely, it was a really homely stay.

The building is historic and interesting but still has all the comfort and warmth needed for travelers.The breakfast delicious including home grown produce. It is in a delightful village with lots to do and see in the beautiful Huon Valley. There really is platypus at the bottom of the garden.

Although somewhat limited for choice of places to go in the locality, dinner at Sass, Stockport Hotel and Petty Sessions were all good. We were not lucky enough to see the local platypus but were assured they were there and seen by other guests.

- Alan (10/5): A Comfortable and Central Heritage spot in Hobart - We enjoyed the central location in Hobart and were able to walk easily to Salamanca Place and the harbor where there was a weekend of festivities. The ferry departure terminal for Mona was also very easily accessible for us oldies, as well as rental cars. We did not order breakfast but enjoyed staying in the comfortable heritage building. The room was large and the flight of stairs were not much of a challenge.
