• Rosemary (10/5): - We have stayed at the Yakinthos at least 6 times over the last 20 years. The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to a lovely sandy beach and numerous restaurants. Lovely pool area. There is a bus stop nearby No 21 frequent bus service to Chania town. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is showing some signs of age but this is reflected in the price and the location makes up for it. The rooms facing the road can be noisy from the traffic so I would recommend booking a pool or garden view room.

• Bryan (10/5): - Christos was very friendly and accommodating for us throughout our stay. He called taxis for us, gave us recommendations for places to eat in Old Town and gave us extra towels. The main chef cooked well and we loved the free breakfast. He was attentive whenever any of the food or drinks were low. Pool and beach access were the best part. Pool is right there and had many shaded spots. Walking to the beach takes less than 2 minutes. Whether you’re walking to a restaurant on the beach or on the street, it is quick and safe. Be sure to check out Sophia’s art shop. We loved the original art pieces there!

• Erin (10/5): - We only stayed one night here. Wish we had booked more to explore surrounding area more. We will definitely be heading back to Crete, and we would definitely consider staying here for a longer stay.
• Brett (8/5): - Wir waren 12 Tage im Juli als älteres Paar Gäste im Yakinthos und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Schon im Vorfeld war die Kommunikation extrem hilfreich und freundlich. Wir haben den Transfer vom Flughafen schon durch das Hotel gebucht. Unsere Zimmerwünsche wurden berücksichtigt und auch Reparaturen im Zimmer sofort nach Beanstandung durchgeführt. Das Zimmer war geräumig und sehr zweckmäßig eingerichtet mit ausreichend Platz für Kleidung, Koffer, etc. Die Betten waren mit guten Matratzen ausgestattet. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit beim Buchen von Ausflügen und gab uns darüberhinaus auch gute Tipps. Die Lage des Hotels so nah am Meer ist toll, der Strand ist vom sehr sauberen Pool nur 2 Minuten zu Fuß :-). In direkter Umgebung gibt es einen Supermarkt, ein süßes Café und sehr gute Restaurants. Die Bushaltestelle nach Chania ist auch quasi direkt vorm Hotel. Bequemer geht’s nicht. Insgesamt ist es ein sehr gutes kleines Hotel, das mit viel Liebe geführt wird. Lediglich das immer aussetzende WLAN im Zimmer und das immer gleiche (aber absolut ausreichende) Frühstücksbuffet wären ein Verbesserungspunkt. Volle Empfehlung für Reisende, die ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis schätzen und keinen extra Luxus brauchen, um sich wohl zu fühlen. Wir kommen wieder und sagen herzlich Danke an das Hotel-Personal für einen tollen Kreta-Aufenthalt! ❤️
• JUAN RAMON (8/5): Cerca de una muy buena playa - El alojamiento esta bien sin muchas pretensiones. pero cerca de una muy buena playa de Agli Apostoli, a la cual pudimos llegar andando en 5 minutos.... el desayuno algo pobre.

• Camille (10/5): - The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, staff are very friendly and accomodating, always working to please. Beach is down the street and has a public beach so we didnt need to rent chairs and umbrella. We rented a car and were able to park it at the hotel. Taxi to city center is 15 euros and there is also a bus that stops in front of hotel and costs 1.50 euro. Breakfast at the hotel is plentiful. For dinner there are also nearby restaurants with delicious food and reasonable pricing (Piato was a favorite). The corner shop has everything you might need and is not a rip off ( large bottle of water .70 cents). There also a Lidl within 5 minute walk. It was great to be just outside the city and avoid crowds but close enough to go to city center within 10 minnutes. We will stay here again when we return to Chania.

The property is also in an excellent location, 2 minutes from the beach. We had a great time and would recommend to anyone to stay here!

Aamupala oli hyvä. Auttavainen ja mkava henkilökunta. Hinta-laatusuhde todella hyvä! Vähän miinusta siitä, että saharan hiekkapilvi laskeutui sateen mukana myös hotellin alueelle. Siivouset todella hidasta, esimerkiksi vielä iltapäivällä allasalueelle ei oltu tehty muuta, kuin viety hiekkaiset aurinkopetien patjat pois. Laatoitus edelleen hiekan peitossa joka puolella jne. Luonnonolot toki aina yllättävät. Tulisimme kyllä uudelleenkin!

• Kasia (10/5): - It was my 2nd time at Yakinthos hotel and I was not disappointed. Staff is extremely nice, delicious breakfast and only 2mins walking to the beach. Pool is great. There is a bus stop just across the road that will take you to the city centre in less than 20mins. Room was very comfortable and clean. I loved it!

• Gillian (8/5): Suspect this hotel will go downhill - This hotel has the potential to be great but there are signs that things are starting to go downhill. The maids and room cleaning were fantastic and could not be criticised but the pool wasn’t cleaned once in the 11 days we were there and the pool area only hosed once. No pool bar although there is the facility/just no longer manned. Breakfast was adequate. I would be relatively comfortable going this season but think next year might be a different story. Rumour has it that the Kaliston Hotel next door are renting it to house their staff so may not even be available.

Le petit déjeuner était frais et copieux. L’hôtel est au calme, proche de la plage, et à seulement 10 minutes en voiture de la Canée. De plus, le parking gratuit est un vrai plus.

• Margaret (10/5): Fijn hotel in Kato Daratsos bij Chania - Heel fijn familiehotel, ook heel geschikt voor kinderen. Heel vriendelijke ontvangst en uitzwaaien. Superschone kamers, zwembad met ligstoelen, parasols en varretje. Heel uitgebreid ontbijt. Dichtbij de bushalte naar Chania en bij veel restaurantjes en strandjes. Ze regelen ook taxivervoer voor je van en naar het vliegveld.

• Hillel (8/5): Vecation in Yakinthos hotel - Lovely hotel with not so big swimming pool. Two minutes from a beautiful beach. The hotel staff is very helpful and pleasant. The only problem was the noise. Our room was in front of a main road with heavy noise all day and night.
• Kim (10/5): Igen meget tilfredse - Vi har boet her 2 gange og er meget glade for hoteller. Personalet er meget søde og hjælpsomme. Morgenmaden er fin. Hyggeligt poolområde. Flest voksne og ikke overfyldt. Ligger i det, efter vores mening, bedste område, med kort vej til gode strande, indkøb og offentlug transport. Chania ligger ca. 4 km. væk og man kan gå dertil langs vej eller strand.

Imødekommende og venligt personale, daglig rengøring, skift af håndklæder og sengetøj hver 2. dag, dejligt poolområde, og fin morgenmad. 2-300 meter til stranden, busstop på den anden side af gaden, hvor man kan tage bus ind til Chania, og et lille minisupermarked ved siden af hotellet. Alt var, som det skulle være!

Big thanks for the hotel staff Location is good, close to the beach, a 1.10 euro will take u to the city by buss, and 1.60 euros to Agia marina, and by taxi is about 10euros to each side.

The balcony door shut out the worst of it. I highly recommend this hotel but only if you are guaranteed a poolside room away from the road. We asked for a room change but were 4th in line so there is obviously a problem there.

La gentillesse et la convivialité de l'ensemble du staff et de la direction est à souligner, de même le petit déjeuner est copieux, bon, et très varié tous les jours. les chambres sont très correctes et disposent de grands placards bien pratiques la literie est impeccable. une terrasse ou balcon complète la chambre avec table et chaises. un frigidaire permet de garder de l'eau fraîche. Belle piscine dans l'hotel qui est situé à environ 50 mètres de la mer donc il y en a pour tous les goûts.

Food was plentiful, varied and tasty. The freshly squeezed orange juice brought upon arrival in dining room every morning was a nice touch. Room service was very good with bed changed everyday. Plenty of space for parking our rental car. We would certainly recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay there again.

• Colin (10/5): Wise Choice West of Hania - Our room was large and quiet despite being near the main street. Breakfast was excellent (real fresh orange juice and some special Cretan cheese pastries). Pool area was modern and well kept and nearby beach area was idyllic. Staff service standards are high and staff were extremely friendly and quickly helpful.Twice they made us an advance breakfast in order to deal with our early risings for tours.Lots of good restaurants nearby and easy bus transport into Hania. Thanks to all for 10 relaxing days.

Yövyin viikon lomamatkalla turistiajan ulkopuolella, joten satuin olemaan hotellin ainut asiakas lähes koko viikon. Joten aamupalabuffettia ei järjestetty, vaan toivat valtavan aamiaisen huoneeseeni joka aamu. Todella ystävälliset työntekijät ja hotelli hyvällä paikalla. Paljon ravintoloita ja kauppoja lähettyvillä, sekä bussilla pääsee hotellin edestä 15min keskustaan. Myös hiekkaranta vieressä. Hotelli oli todella siisti ja suosittelisin hotellia kaikille. Yksi parhaista lomakokemuksistani! Aijon ehdottomasti matkustaa uudelleen kyseiseen hotelliin. Ei mitään pahaa sanottavaa.

• anna (6/5): - Ho prenotato 2 camere vista mare, all'arrivo ci hanno dato le camere economy, senza vista mare. Al mio reclamo ci hanno dato camere nella palazzina accanto senza ascensore, comunque un primo piano. La camera ampia con balcone, ma la vista mare consiste in uno scorcio di mare in lontananza; infatti l'hotel non è sul mare . Comunque lo consiglierei in rapporto al prezzo, colazione buona e varia anche se predomina il salato.
• Intravo (10/5): Quiet hotel 2 min walk from an excellent beach. - One week holiday late October. Temperature was like one of the better UK summer days. Hotel pool was cool by Cretan standards but very nice on a hot day. The sea was warmer and easily swimmable, with very clear water. Recommend the Maritime Museum on the Chania Venetian harbour, trip in a glass-bottomed boat (take swimming kit!). Chania itself has many big-town facilities. The Samaria Gorge walk is a serious undertaking but spectacular and worth the later aches. Buy bus tickets before travel, it's a lot cheaper.

• Elaine (10/5): Caring and friendly staff - This was our 3rd stay at the Yakinthos which says something as we rarely go back to the same place. We booked through Expedia this time along with the flight so we got the ATOL certificate and I contacted the hotel by email before we travelled about booking a taxi from Chania airport, which they arranged for us. We were greeted very warmly by all staff. Our room overlooked the pool and had recently had a bathroom refurb (long overdue) which was lovely. Breakfast is varied with hot and cold options but the fresh orange juice we had been given previously was not on offer this time. The hotel is a short walk down the lane from a lovely beach and there are numerous restaurants around the area. The bus stop is over the road for the 20 minute bus ride to beautiful Chania. Tickets should be purchased from the supermarket next door (1 euro 20) as it's cheaper than paying on the bus. If you're looking for a small 3 star no frills hotel near to local amenities then this might be for you. Pay extra for a pool view as otherwise you may get a room at the front of the hotel which is on a busy road.
• Jese (10/5): Really awesome place for the price!!! - Our stay was only a couple days, but it was awesome!!! the staff was extremely friendly. Though not everyone was fluent in English, there as never someone too far away. Room was comfortable and had a safe which made us feel at ease while enjoying our sightseeing. I looked forward to breakfast every morning for two reasons... The amazing variety of Greek foods to try and the RAKI!!! Raki for breakfast... why not... This place really lets you feel the Cretan hospitality. Will definitely recommend to anyone who visits Chania and Crete!
• paul (10/5): Nice hotel close to lovely beach - Antonia and all the staff were brilliant. They could not do enough to help even borrowed one of the staffs brolley when it rained for one day. The rooms are excellent, comfy and no charge for air conditioning or safe deposit box.
• Deborah (10/5): Friendly staff and close to beach and restaurants. - The staff were so friendly and and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was 1 minute from the beach and 5 to 15 minutes walk from a number of very reasonable to very good restaurants. You can walk to Chania (45 mins to an hour) or take the bus - very easy. The beach was lovely. Not the prettiest location - until you get to the beach but very convenient. The breakfasts were really good, and there was wide choice of food and you could have have as much as you like. My friend and I were very impressed by this small family run hotel - the staff were always friendly and tried to give us whatever we needed. It isn't 5 star luxury but I preferred this type of accommodation because it was just right and I felt I could stay there on my own and I would feel welcome and comfortable.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to stay to visit the east of Crete - We stayed 6 days in this hotel and we really enjoyed. This is an ideal base to discover the East of Crete and it is in-between Chania and Platanias. With a bus you can go to Chania in 20min and it passes on a frequent basis. The facilities of the hotel were in great shape and the pool was a good size and clean. The hotel is on the main road but it is very quiet and the beach is just next door. The staff was very nice and very helpful. There are also plenty of shops and supermarkets around for shopping.

• Julie (10/5): Beautiful, clean medium/small-sized hotel - I stayed at Hotel Yakinthos for one week in April 2017 - my first time in Crete/Greece. The hotel is immaculate and beautifully presented with fresh flowers in the foyer and breakfast room. The pool, although small - is again immaculate and looks inviting for a dip - although it was a bit too cold for this in April. Sun loungers around the pool were relaxing. My room (ensuite, twin room) was very comfortable; with my own private balcony on the corner of the building. The only irritation was the noise from traffic - but it's not too bad and can't be helped - you get used to it! Beautiful interior styling - everything is white marble; clean, fresh and unfussy. The buffet breakfast was amazing - especially the large glass of fresh orange juice every morning. Greek fare such as yoghurt, feta, olives, tomatoes, tzatziki canapes as well as cereals, loads of fresh fruit, bread, toast, jam, honey, croissants, bacon and egg and omlette!! I may have put on some weight during my stay... The staff are all friendly, helpful and very professional with varying levels of English. I would love to return to stay here some day. Fridge/ice cube tray, safe, tv and hairdryer in my room were much appreciated too.
• su c (6/5): - Nice hotel. Decent breakfast and friendly staff. Very close to beach just a shame they don't provide beach towels or sun loungers on the beach. Ask for a mattress protector if there isn't one in your room as it makes the bed much more comfortable and should be there anyway apparently. Recommended to people without kids who want the option of pool and beach. Has a car park.

• Julia Carolin (8/5): Great hotel with a lot going for it! - This hotel is truly a good hotel. The staff are very kind and helpful, the breakfast has a large variety of healthy food, the beach access could not be better (150 meters), the pool area is relatively quiet and very clean, and bus stops are very close. A great place to stay. The only negative thing we experienced is that though the hotel is located outside the hussle and bussle of Chania, it is right on the main road going west out of Chania. This means that if you have an "economy" room you will have a balcony facing this road that is VERY busy day and night. At night with the AC on and the door closed the noise is not bad. However, if the door is open the noise is quite noticeable/annoying.
• christos (10/5): Great service, perfectly located! - We had a great stay at Yakinthos hotel, the friendly staff and their interest in our stay made it a lovely experience! The staff spoke to us regularly and made us feel at home from the moment we stepped into the hotel. Upon arrival, we were complimented with a junior suite for a few days, so my review will discuss both the junior suite and the economy room. The rooms were spacious and very clean, everything you would expect from a great hotel was provided, amenities include hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, towels (changed regularly) and body lotion. The rooms were cleaned daily and new bed linen changed very frequently by the lovely maids who just like the rest of the staff were cheerful. The breakfast buffet had a wide range of foods provided, which were frequently re-filled so even when we woke up late our favourite foods were still there! Breakfast was always served with a fresh glass of orange juice. The hotel is perfectly located for a great stay in crete, on the left of the hotel are many small shops, restaurants, cafes and in the side streets are some very scenic restaurants which were our go-to for lunch, on the right of the hotel, down the strip was some beachfront restaurants which were great for dinner with a nice view of the sunset. The nearby bus station made our trips into chania effortless, although i would recommend that you buy your bus tickets from the shop located next to the hotel as it is considerably cheaper than buying it on the bus itself.
• B (8/5): Nice place to stay - Great hotel in vicinity of Chania town. Really friendly and competent staff and great breakfast and pool. The best beach in Chania area is only 1 min away. For some good restaurants we would recommend to either go to Chania or even better further west towards Agia Maria where you can also find lots of touristy restaurants, coffee places, bars and shops. You will need a car for this though so we would strongly recommend to rent a car not only for this reason but also to visit some great beaches like Balos, Elafonissi or the amazing Preveli Beach.
• Amin (10/5): Simply Fantastic! Will come back defintly - It was simply fantastic. Rooms, environmen and pool area were so clean. Very very friendly staff. Awesome breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice! If I would come back to Chania again I would definetly choose this hotel again. I remember the first day due to time shift I missed the breakfast and when I arrived to the breakfast cantinas they were collecting it to the kitchen, but when they saw me they started to bring back :) They also have reasonable prices for different tours.
