- Katherine (10/5): 100% recommend! - Beautiful hotel, staff are so friendly and helpful. Facilities great, hotel feel is laid back and luxurious but not fussy. Very clean and beautifully kept grounds. Location is great 30 minute walk to beautiful little town Panormo which has plenty restaurants, bars and a few shops. 30 minute drive into the city of Rethymno. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxed base to explore Crete, we stayed for 1 week and felt we could have easily stayed another few days.
- Vanessa (8/5): - Veldig gode fasiliteter, fantastisk ren sand strand, veldig stille og ingen bølger. Litt lite senger ved bassenget. Buffe restaurant med utvendig balkong og utsikt over havet gjør at det er ok å spise en buffé middag, maten var ok, frokost ikke så bra. Vil si at maten var ikke tilfredsstillende. Men verst av alt var prisene på mat og drikke utenfor pakken ( vi hadde halv pensjon) det var norske priser, brukte ca kr 35k i tillegg på familie på 4 i 2 uker dvs bare på lunsj og drikke/vin til middag, og vi tok kun vann til lunsj. Det var en utrolig kul bar ved stranden med bra musikk men nesten ingen var der, underholdning og stemning om kvelden var non existent og det bør en ha når hotellet er så isolert. God ferie men mye som kan forbedres så kan ikke helt anbefale den.

Wonderfully attentive staff throughout the hotel, in particular Anna who worked around the pool, and in the restaurant in the evenings was fabulous. The buffet options in the main restaurant were pretty good for breakfast and dinner. And the other restaurants - which you pay extra for, had truly delicious food.. in all of them as. Despite the hotel being full, it never felt busy. Evening entertainment could be better, the singer we saw a couple of times unfortunately was not the best. All in all a fantastic stay!

They have it all, golf-buggy door service, multiple pools, day beds and sun beds, cocktails by the pool, multiple restaurants and bars, buffet breakfast. - Verified traveler (10/5): - Wir sind restlos begeistert. Bereits bei Ankunft wurden wir herzlich mit einem Getränk empfangen und dann zu unseren Zimmern gefahren. Dort wartete ein Teller mit landestypischer Süßigkeiten und eine Flasche Wein. Dem Wunsch, das Zimmer zu wechseln (das wirklich einzige Manko war der nicht uneingeschränkte Meerblick des von uns gebuchten Zimmers) wurde prompt und sehr freundlich entsprochen. Überhaupt war das Personal durchgehend überaus freundlich, aufmerksam und bemüht. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt, weitläufig und wunderschön. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist umwerfend - da ist wirklich für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Zweimal wurde uns während unseres einwöchigen Aufenthalts ein Teller mit Obst gebracht und zum Abschied gab es auch noch ein kleines Präsent. Zudem gab es jeden Tag kostenlos eine Flasche Wasser. Sowohl die diversen Pools als auch die vor Wellengang geschützte Badebucht waren mit ausreichenden und bequemen Liegen und Sonnenschirmen ausgestattet. Kostenlos wurden Badehandtücher zur Verfügung gestellt. Wir können dieses Hotel nur uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!!

The beach and pool areas were very accomodating in regards to food/drink ordering. Proper maintenance was obvious on the grounds as we ways saw staff out keeping things well manicured and taken care of. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite with a private pool for our last two nights which was quite beautiful. We would definitely recommend the Royal Blue to anyone considering a vacation in Crete.

The people made us feel so welcomed and we got pampered every single day. The villa with private pool was breath taking. Clean and very cute. The view was breathtaking with beautiful sunsets - perfect endings of the day! The food at the restaurants fresh & delicious. But the staff topped it all with their friendliness. Anastasia from guest relations, Maria from reservation, and Jannis & Babis from the bar need a special mention as they made our stay even more special with their helpfulness & friendliness.
- oezden (4/5): - Das Personal war zwar sehr freundlich, jedoch konnten sie an vielen Stellen einfach nicht weiterhelfen. Am ersten Tag haben wir am Pool Getränke bestellt und haben das doppelte bezahlt im Vergleich zum 2. Tag. Da hat nämlich ein anderer Service-Mitarbeiter gearbeitet. Bei der Begrüßung wollte man, dass wir die Reisekosten gleich zahlen, obwohl wir die Reise bereits vor Wochen bezahlt haben und auch eine Bestätigung erhalten haben…und so ging es weiter bis am letzten Tag auch noch der Koffer vom Personal auf den Boden gefallen ist und wir noch diskutieren mussten, dass das Hotel die Reparatur-Kosten nicht übernehmen kann, da das Hotel dafür nicht versichert ist und das die Reparatur vom Personal zu zahlen ist….das finde ich schon sehr unverschämt!

- Mark (8/5): - Ik had het hotel graag 5 sterren gegeven en na de eerste paar dagen gaf ik het hotel ook 5 sterren, maar ik houd het bij 4. Dit vanwege de ontzettend slechte wifi verbinding op de kamer. Anno 2022 dient de wifi op een hotelkamer gewoon goed te zijn en ik heb al jaren niet meer zo'n slechte wifi gehad. Dit was bijzonder problematisch omdat er bij het hotel een slechte verbinding was van het mobiele netwerk (vaak max 2g). Dit heeft dan ook vaak tot ergernis geleid. Daarnaast is mij, ook na het verblijf, volstrekt onduidelijk wat het 'shared pool concept' nu precies inhoudt. We boekten een shared pool kamer, maar onze kamer lag niet aan een gedeeld zwembad. Dit hebben we bij aankomst aangegeven en we hebben een kamer gekregen die wel aan een zwembad lag. Deze klacht werd aldus heel netjes opgepakt. De gedeelde zwembaden zijn echter, zo lijkt het, voor iedereen toegankelijk en de kamer die we eerst kregen toegewezen, hoorde ook bij één van de gedeelde zwembaden. In principe is dit geen probleem, maar wij boekten deze kamer vanuit het 'swim-up' principe dat we op Kos in het verleden hebben ervaren en ons erg goed beviel (vanuit de hotelkamer zo het zwembad in). Ik ben dan ook van mening dat dit concept beter moet worden uitgelegd bij het aanbieden van deze kamers. Voor het overige beviel het hotel uitstekend. Veel zwembaden (jammer genoeg zout water), veel ligbedjes (waarvan het gros op het privé strand) en het ontbijt was echt zéér uitgebreid en gevarieerd. Wel raad ik een huurau

Große, mittlere und private Pools zur Wahl und im vergangenen Jahr wurde auch eine ruhige Badebucht mit Sandstrand und neuen Liegen ausgebaut. Restaurants ausgezeichnet und auf die Covid-Maßnahmen wurde höchsten Wert gelegt. Die Zimmer sind modern, technisch am letzten Stand und immer sauber. Sehr freundliches Personal!!! - Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic hotel - Lovely modern hotel. From the moment we arrived service was great, friendly but not intrusive. Welcome drink and explanation of the many restaurants, bars and facilities the hotel has to offer was a nice touch. We only ate at the hotel twice but the Cave restaurant overlooking the sea at sunset was a highlight. Beautiful view and the best food of our trip! It was around 7 euros to go in to the nearby town of Panormos where there are plenty of eating options. Pool and beach area are both large with plenty of sunloungers. Loved our stay and would definitely return!

However fairly expensive considering there was not much nearby but we were still very happy and satisfied Staff were very nice and friendly. Rooms were cleaned to a good standard. If they could introduce halal food (which is an ask!) that would be amazing. The views from this property were something else.

- Chris (10/5): Incredible luxury resort with great facilities - This hotel definitely lives up to its 5* rating. The rooms and facilities are of a really high standard and kept exceptionally clean and tidy constantly. Staff are friendly and multilingual with an extensive knowledge of the local area and the rest of the island. Our room had a private pool but there are many other pools and a private beach as well as sports facilities and a gym. The drinks are a little pricey but that's expected at a resort of this type. Although we mainly used the resort as a base, the days we spent my the pool were very relaxing and the ambience is great whether it's daytime in the sun or evening spent watching the sunset from the cocktail bar. Definitely recommended!

- Suryanarayan (8/5): Our holiday in Crete - Crete was our final stop on our holiday in Greece. The Royal Blue is a beautiful property located on the seaside and you can enjoy amazing Cretan blue and sunsets from the room. The location of the hotel was excellent. It was close to the main East-West highway connecting Rethymno with Iraklion and Hania. The property is very close (less than 2 km) to the sea side village of Panormas that has a good choice of Greek tavernas offering excellent local Cretan cuisine. The breakfast spread at the hotel was good with a choice of excellent local cheeses and several Cretan specialities. On the negative side, we felt that the room furniture was old and tacky. The bathrooms were definitely not well designed. It had a combined bathtub/shower but the glass partition for the shower was practically useless and the bathroom would get wet and messy after using the shower. The towels were grey and worn out. When you stay at a hotel of 5 star category you expect better quality towels (fluffy white towels) The bathroom cleanliness was also an issue as we noticed mold in the jacuzzi outlets and around the bathtub.

Instead of all rooms being in the one building, the rooms are spread out individually (or in small groups) around the hotel grounds, almost like its own little villa. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's located about 25mins from the nearest town, Rethymno. A car is recommended if you're looking to venture out. I would highly recommend a stay here.
- JeanS (10/5): Modern hotel with lovely view of Aegean Sea - Stayed at this hotel as solo traveller for 7 days in May 2016. Found it to be very comfortable and staff friendly and efficient. Plenty of choice for breakfast and good snacks at poolside bar for lunch. Numerous swimming pools and plenty of sunbeds always available (although it was relatively early in season). The spa was excellent and I had several massages and a facial. Steep walk to the small beach and difficult to enter/leave the sea due to stones but I managed it OK.

There is also a man made beach which could be lovely but found the sun loungers where old and rickety. The beach was covered in litter and cigarette butts which detracted from the lovely setting. The main hotel restaurant was nice but the food served was very average with little variety. The service from the staff in the restaurant was excellent. The room we stayed in (sea view) was really nice. Good size with a large bathroom. The shower had poor water pressure but otherwise a good bathroom. Drinks and food where very expensive. For example 4 euros for a coffee and 11 euros for a sandwich.

- anthony (10/5): Fantastic hotel with amazing food - Great hotel. We very luckily got upgraded to a jacuzzi room with fantastic sea view. I genuinely don't remember a hotel with such natural and friendly staff. Nothing stuffy about them but absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The food was great, especially the sushi bar for lunch. If you want a relaxing break where you can either stay in the resort or pop out to a local restaurant this fits the bill perfectly.

- @qualityjill (10/5): Relaxing at Sensimar Royal Blue Spa - My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Royal Blue Sensimar Spa Hotel. The accommodation was excellent, clean modern and spacious. The staff cleaned daily and were not intrusive. We would recommend a sea view and balcony suite, well worth the money, spectacular views ! We were late in the season Oct and hence the number of restaurants within the complex felt limited but we would highly recommend the Authentic Cretan Cuisine adjacent to the medium pool, stunning food, and service.

We paid extra for the private pool which was freezing cold, even colder than the ocean. We paid way too much money for what we received in return. I would not recommend to anyone, save your money and use it to stay at a real luxury hotel.

We had an upgrade to a suite by the hotel but although it was amazing we decided to take the villa at the last minute, with our own private pool. The views and location were breath taking every minute. The staff from the hotel were always polite and helpful. The food in every restaurant was delicious and the dinner at Culinarium was perfect (settings, romantic, atmosphere...) The fact that it is only for adults makes a big different to relax. Moreover, the sun set from any spot through the resort is speechless. Furthermore, we had massage a included with the bedroom in the Spa which was one of the best massage I ever had (and I had loads of massage all over the world). I highly recommend this hotel for any couple that wants to disconnect, privacy and relax, enjoy Cretan food and have an amazing time. Thank you Sensimar Royal Blue Resort and Spa.
- Hendyboy (10/5): Return to the Royal Blue - This was our second visist to the Royal Blue, although there is a risk with a second visit to a location there is a risk that it could fall short, this certenly was not the case, and it lived up toevery expectations. Its location is slighly isolated, but taxis and the local bus service gives plenty of options. If you want peace an quiet accompanied by accommodation of high standards, this is the place for you. Staff a well trained and very attentive. We will certainly return to the Royal Blue, if not next year, deffinately in 2015. If I was to make a criticism, the price of drinks is a tad pricey at over 8 euro for a G+T!
- Not happy (2/5): Poor Guest Management - Great hotel, shame about the poor management! My wife and I were given a room upgrade on arrival (for the 7 day stay according to our key card envelope) but less than 24 hours later we had to change room. The second room had a water leak which made the marble bathroom floor especially hazardous. Maintenance staff were unable to repair this so we spent the rest of our stay mopping up water from the floor using extra towels supplied by the only person who cared, the Housekeeper. Even she had no success in resolving the problem when she reported it to management. No one from management expressed regret over the problem or suggested solutions . I have complained in writing to the hotel but received a response that is full of errors and no apology. I will continue to complain.
