Guest Reviews
- Sharps1959 (10/5): My Goan home from home - This was my second year staying at the Yellow House.
I stayed for a month and again, I enjoyed every minute.
The rooms are clean and the beds super comfortable with AC as an option.
Rose and her son Jawish are extremely personable folk who go out of their way to make sure that your stay is all you could wish for.
The property is in an extremely quiet, peaceful and secure location. A two minute walk to the beach and close to numerous restaurants and bars.
I will be back that’s for sure.
- WesCrutcher (10/5): Excellent family run hotel. - Rose and Jawish looked after us so well. The location is perfect for exploring with easy access to some excellent sunsets. Clean rooms, quiet location and very safe with its own security. They all the essentials to make your first few days simple, all charged at very good rates. Things like toothbrush, toothpaste, water and beers. Lots of greats bars and eateries nearby as well.
- Journey51599000745 (10/5): Excellent - Great experience great hospitality made by housekeeping staff Devdash Avinash Aditya .And room service Tokio very smart and humble . Rooms are cleaned and neat food was awesome espicially breakfast. Our stay was absolu Lovely and comfortable at this beautiful hotel.overall 100/100
- Ronark (8/5): - The host was very helpful and very accommodating.. the property is very close to the main beach.
- Girish (8/5): - Good
- Johan (10/5): Hidden Gem - A hidden old School gem really close to the beach. Excellent friendly service. Small but cosy.
- G9737HHnicolad (10/5): Yellow House of Love by the beach - The yellow house we chose because of the great trip advisor reviews and we weren’t disappointed - Jawish and his family took care of our stay from picking us up from the airport to making sure we had fresh linen and towels and pointing us in the right direction for things to see and do . The yellow house is right next to the beach and local to everything you may wish to see and visit in the area - super friendly family and we are definitely returning next year and probably the year after that too - loved out 12 days at the yellow house very very much
Namaste
- Paul (10/5): Quite simply outstanding - Well…. I made an exceptional choice when I booked this place!
I don’t know where to start really….Rosy and her sons are lovely, warm hearted people and will go out of their way to help you, whether it’s organising a rental scooter, airport transfer or even advising on where to visit. My room, no 3, was quiet and peaceful. The bed was the most comfortable I’d slept in during my (so far) 6 weeks in India. I simply cannot recommend this place enough..go, stay, sleep and enjoy. I did and hope to return one day. Thank you Rosy, your hospitality meant so much such to me when I was 1000’s of miles away from home😘
- Elisabetta (10/5): - Very confortable place, helpful management
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stressful encounter - Art ved at the property and the manager said that our booking had been cancelled. After many hours wasted on contacting the website to sort it out, the owner told me later that they would honour the booking but I had already found alternative arrangements. Thankfully he gave me a cash refund but the entire experience was unpleasant and stressful. Time wasted on my holiday
- maldi333 (10/5): Calming & Blissful stay - The property is very beautiful, serene & well maintained. Trees..Trees & Trees around 😍
Rooms are spacious enough to easily accommodate 03 adults. Bathroom is neat & clean.
It’s in the interiors from the main road. Just a minute walk to Vagator beach..
All you could here is bird chirping & the waves..
A couple of party locations are in the vicinity as well 😁. Sometimes party @ Pinakin cafe & WestIn could get loud..but overall not a problem as such..
All good restaurants are near by on the main Vagator beach road.
Overall a perfect place to spend 4-5 days..
Would definitely visit again..Cheers!!!
- chpraveen9 (10/5): Best place to stay - Best place in this city. Very well maintained all the time. We can stay comfortable here. No issues only entertainment we can have here.will be visiting next time also for sure.thsnk you team for your wonderful maintenance
- Michael (8/5): Good choice - This place is run by a very nice family. They are very friendly and can advise and organise anything you want. The location is perfect with 1 min walk to the beach and you can hear the swell from the ocean. I’d come back because it’s good value for money and friendly people.
- Ankush (4/5): - Not good
1."children's are not allowed becoz tourists from other countries distributed by children's" told by hotel owner....
2.no room cleaning service
3.No other services available
4.if group of boys thn you cant make noise 😂😂
5.only good point is that location
Good
1.near to vagator beach ( 2 min walking )
2.near anjuna and calangut beach
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rooms are very simple but ok!
Building in general and court with many flowers and plants well arranged. Very relaxing to sit on the balcony at night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Rustige omgeving dicht bij het strand goede service.
Sanitair een beetje verouderd maar het werkt.
- Luís (10/5): - Best Place to Stay in Goa. The Staff, the room, the place. Everything is perfect.
- Jay (10/5): Great guesthouse next to the beach! - I stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The room and facilities are comfortable and the location is steps from the beach..and easy access to explore the village and sights as well. I highly recommend this local guesthouse. Very nice family and will take good care of you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Right next to beach! - Very good deal, as close to the beach as possible - right next to beach entrance. Looks cheerful outside. Rooms are basic but clean. As all other budget hotels in India, they use urinal fresheners as air fresheners so the scent is strong in the room. Screens on window so no mosquitos. Quiet and peaceful, no drunks. Lovely family that owns it, very nice and helpful.
- ArunDK (10/5): It's like home in Goa. - I am so so happy selecting this hotel for. My Stay.. They welcomed as like. Family member. Aunty and. Maria was very helpful and always treat as their. Family. Member.. I am. So. Comfortable and. Enjoyed a great stay in yellow house.. It's just few steps away from. Beach and so calm place. Everything is available like drinks.. Cigarettes. Snacks. Soft drinks and decent breakfast options... If you want a quiet And Beach near stay.. Highly. Recommended.
Got a good deal to rent their car as well for three days and it is a good condition car..
Thanks
Regards
Arun Kumar.

- Vacationer827346 (10/5): Good place to stay in Goa. - I’ve been staying here for work for exactly 6 months and I’ve never had a bad experience. Clean rooms, with space to spread out and tranquil views of forest to the rear that make you feel your miles away from anywhere. Value for money.
- 611yul (10/5): Stay like at a friends place - The family run Yellow House has a great feel to it. We chose a basic non-A/C room. The staff is super nice and the room (altough not the newest) is very clean. The little terrace in front of the room has a sitting hammock and a great view to the little green open patio where could watch and pet the families dogs and cats. The scooters for rent are in great shape.
Prices are very reasonable.
- Shanti (10/5): "here is the beach and here is your yellow house" - Staying at Yellow House was a treat. It is sunshine in a building with a happy atmosphere. Family run, the family is welcoming and kind, keeping track of their guests welfare and offering plenty of suggestions as to how to enjoy the area. Day trips are organised to suit, car and driver super professional and caring. A short walk to the beach, slightly longer walk to other places. A very decent selection of restaurants and eateries for all tastes and budgets up the road and breakfast available daily at Yellow House on the roof terrace with jungle greenery as a backdrop for a coconut filled pancake and a delicious fruit salad. Some noise at night from beach revelry (the beach places conveniently ignore the 10pm watershed) can be disturbing, earplugs worked to filter out the worst. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Yellow House and would return in a heartbeat.
- wissamas (10/5): Serene! - Where to start? This was the most pleasurable stay of my life, albeit, the most humble. The location is extremely strategic and convenient (path to Chapora fort and village/Vagator beach entrance), you can rent you bike from here and laundry service is available.
This hotel attracts very intriguing and diverse clientele so you will never feel lonely if travelling solo. As a family business, each member is specialized in something, Joel is a magnificent cook with great taste, make sure you try his sandwiches. The Moniz's (owners) have become a second family for me. Their hospitality, commitment, and understanding are enough to make always want come back to them and not consider any other place. I am grateful for everything.
Warmest regards to Mama Henriquette, Jubert, Maria, Javesh, Joel, & little Jeremy. <3
- 39heatherd (10/5): Great location, close to town and the beach - We enjoyed our 4-night stay at Yellow House. We couldn't believe how close it was to Vagator Beach. Our fan room was clean, the bed was comfy and everything worked well. The wifi was fast and worked well except for one outage. The first night we were here it was extremely quiet at night. The next night was noisy - all part of the Republic Day celebrations. The breakfasts at Yellow House were amazing, and reasonably priced. The coconut pancakes, with freshly grated coconut, were delish. We loved spending afternoons relaxing in the upper covered deck area. The owners were friendly and helpful, always around if you needed anything. We appreciated being able to buy beer and water at the reception area. We'd definitely stay here again. Good value for money.
- Liverpool1969 (10/5): Lovely peaceful & close to the beach - Hi my wife and I stayed at the Yellow House in November for 15 nights, we live in Crete and worked all summer. So we just wanted a peaceful, relaxing holiday. The main attraction for us was its location next to the Vagator beach.
The owners son picked us up from Vasco airport easily displaying a card with our name on so easily, then we had an hours drive to the destination.
The room was clean, basic and comfortable. Most of all quiet.
The long sandy beach was amazing just what we wanted, one end with local water sports and a couple of shacks. The other end about 500 m walk to the most peaceful beach we have ever been on two small shacks selling food & drinks our favourite was call 'sunset shack' lovely Indian people. ( so we went there most days)
So the yellow house was only ever a 5 minute walk away, lovely relaxing place.
We did eat breakfast a few times there lovely omelette and toast teas all for around 200 rupees.
The rooms and cleaned every few days with clean bedding and towels, and the water to the shower was hot.
We had just a short walk upto the village to eat at night lots of restaurants and shops in the village a very good choice, we just love Indian food so tried mostly all of them.
So a lovely warm welcoming family at the Yellow House would highly recommend it value for money and location.
Also the Internet was very good connection in our room, to contact our families and watching films at night.
We will be returning in 2019 November. See you soon my friends 🇮🇳
Wayne & Louise Hubbard.
- Verified traveler (6/5): yellow house - vagator - only good point about this property is - its very near to sea...budget rooms are too small...there is no - television, mosquito repellents,no security guards....area is very dark with pigs roaming nearby....after 11 its tough to go beach...their restaurants not having any lunch or dinner facilities, inspite of knowing there is not much option outside....
- Leonie (8/5): Nice guesthouse near the beach - Good en Fresh Breakfast
Laundry service available
Nice en friendly staff
- JennyRooney (8/5): good standard of budget hotel so close to the beach - stayed 2 nights at yellow house in October and found it to be ideal for what we needed. clean basic room with fan. no tv.It had mosquito nets on windows.good hot shower. lovely family run business. a lanai with a swing chair outside. very close to the main beach. we rented bikes and also had the owner drive us to the airport in his lovely new car!!! i would recommend this guest house for those looking for a basic budget place close to the beach.
- InacioF31 (10/5): Comfy... both..... the stay and the price - 2 minutes walk away from the Vagator Shoreline, this homely family will always be welcoming you with a smile, and assure that your stay in the State is as comfortable and enjoyable it can be. So if you are in Goa for a holiday, make sure you book the Yellow House.
- AAMIRA228 (10/5): Yellow house Is superb i like it nice location it is superb just go there - Just go all and enjoy
Superb location great yellow house
I like to all the time there only
All the staff is excellent great service great people's all are very good manners just go you alll visit the yellow house 😘😘😊👌👌
- Asifaparveen (8/5): Comfortable stay - A peaceful surrounding and a homely place to stay. Welcoming staffs. They will guide for the other attractions in Goa as this hotel is run by a family who is settled there since long.Very close by to the vagator beach and other beaches in the area.
- 156natashaa (10/5): "Charming hotel in a nice area to live in" - ★♥A charming hotel in a peaceful part of the city. A great hotel that values its guests. Everything is perfect and beautiful here and a wonderful place to stay while visiting goa.♥★
Highly recommended!
- domnic26 (10/5): Homely Stay, stones throw from Beach - This place is a stones throw from the beach. Family Run Homely place, very hospitable Goan staff. Clean Room very well maintained. Barely 100 meters from the beach. The Owners of the place also have a food truck which serves Goan delicacies in the evenings. Unless your budget is for a 5 star Hotel, this place is easily the best in Vagator. We will not stay at any other place in Vagator.
- IzazAnsari (8/5): The best budget house in Vagator! - We, me & my friend, statyed at yellow House for 4 days & 3 nights. I am a frequent visitor to Goa & have been visting it for past 3 years straight in the month of Feb. This years stay was different, thanks to the owners of Yellow House. They are very helpful, very! We asked & they used to get it done for us. Very polite & helping!
The Yellow House has clean rooms with a/c. The rooms are fine for budget travellers & the best part, the beach, vagator, is just '60 seconds' away. yes, 60 seconds! :)
I would highly reccomend this cozy yet comfortable house stay, worth every penny! :)
- John (10/5): REAL Goan stay - I absolutely adored my stay here. It is a family concern, so you get the real inside track. They are so helpful and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. They found me a driver who was not only unbelievably reasonably priced but also invited me into his house for a meal.
Ask them to show you the back path behind the house to the fort. It brings you out in a tiny little village with beautifully coloured houses. Idyllic.
The food and beer in the village are cheap and very good quality. Scooter hire or taxis are incredibly cheap. If you are planning to get a SIM card come prepared with a photocopy of your visa and the photo page of your passport, as well as the originals. Also bring a passport sized photo.
Ask them for advice when booking trips. Some are better than others.
Thanks, Yellow House : )
- Wayne (10/5): So close to Vagator Beach - Great value for proximity to beach
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great little place run by a lovely family. Would recommend it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - so much expensive bike, and 30$ it's to much, room is much smaller
- Larissa (10/5): Friendly - Simple, quiet, friendly, great location beach scape.
- Verified traveler (8/5): nice hotel - Basic hotel room but very friendly and helpful family , nothing was too much trouble .
- Verified traveler (8/5): simple, safe and close to beach - This is a family managed nice type of establishment.
Rooms are simple and compound is safe and lovely.
Classical type of india guesthouse :-)
- Prarthana (10/5): very close to the beach :) - I was truly on a vacation and cut off from the world! Zero mobile connectivity and peace!
- David (8/5): a small budget place to stay comfortably.. - This is a small budget place to stay if u wish to be close to the ocean wid a middle class mentality. Its homely & nice feeling 2stay like friendz with a nice & disciplined catholic family. Simple bed & an attached washroom and just 5mts walk 2da Vagator Beach. They give you good guidance if you require on your tour & breakfast & vehicles if u desire. Anyway , Vagator night stays r 4people who require rest , solitude , romance and / or a bit of exploration around the place till Arambol or Anjuna and not for big families. So the set up has been made accordingly..
- Spm (8/5): close to beach - The property is close to beach but not on the beach. Very convenient place to enjoys all beaches in vagator - small and big one.
Room was decent with minimum facilities
- Elaine (2/5): Never again! - No sheets on the bed, only blankets.
We stayed there for 8 nights in February 2015.
The room wasn't cleaned, nor bedding or towels changed for 4 days until we asked and again after a further 2 days. Every day we had to ask for a toilet roll.
The 'Restaurant' was very poor, as was the one and only breakfast we eat there.
Location;Out of the way, down a steep hill (on the edge of big Vagator beach) and down a further dirt track.
Building in the vicinity, no other facilities in the area.
- daniel (6/5): better options - the location is good but the layout means noisy people disturb everyone. friendly staff but overpriced accommodation.
- Hampus (10/5): Super nice - Nice hotel close to the beach so you could hear the waves in the night witch was very cosy! Good help from the staf with fixing a scooter and taxi! Highly recommended!
- Dibya (8/5): Nice one... the best part.. its near to the beach - its awesome. they also provide bikes and taxi if u need. so no tension.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Homely Atmosphere - Yellow House provided us a homely atmosphere. Services was good. It was so comfortable during our stay.
- Kimerthy (6/5): Quiet place to stay - We stayed here on first arriving in Goa, the room was functional, beds not comfortable at all. Hot water for shower only in the morning. Situated in a very quiet location so bike recommended. Food was good and cheap and the staff were brilliant. Overall it was a good start to get your bearings.
- Chitrank (8/5): Very nice and hospitable staff & close to beach - Amazing fun. Neat and smart rooms. The sitting area nicely nestled in the shade of palms. Sitting in the hotel itself lets you enjoy the sunrise, sunset and the cool sea breeze.
- Abhi (8/5): A decent budget hotel for couples.. - I got to know abt this hotel frm Expedia and was impressed by the user reviews. So I booked it for me and my wife and was not at all disappointed. The room was clean and the surroundings were neat. The owners were very helpful and made sure we had evrything we needed. We wanted such type of hotel bcoz we kne that most of the time we would be travelling and so didnt want to waste money on luxurious rooms. Sothis fitted our requirement.
Its very near to Vagator beach and the hotels nearby are also good. u can rent a bike frm the owners itself and so u wont have a difficulty in going anywhere. Baga and calangute beaches r 15 mins fm the Hotel.
Overall a very niv=ce and pleasant stay and a wonderful trip.. Willsurely go back the next time...
- World Traveller (6/5): Grubby - Okay, it was the end of the season, but the rooms are really grubby looking with marks all over the walls. Bed was rock hard, and curtains too thin to keep the light out. No AC or TV, only a fan to keep cool, but not very effective. Not for me, I will not be back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice peaceful place - Yellow house is a real peaceful place to spend ur holidays. Biggest thing being near to Vagator beach which is very nice.
The place is clean and has a warmth about it.
- Pankaj Bedi (8/5): Perfect Value for Money - very helpful people, 5 mins from beach, very clean, nice and clean bathrooms... had awesome time.
- pat (2/5): lovely - what a lovely place-basic but great wifi, very clean and a lovely welcoming family. Jeremy, their little boy is a delight. Lovely garden, stone's throw from beach
- Gemma (8/5): - Had a lovely stay at yellow house. The woman that owns/runs it is so kind and helpful it really made our stay more special
- Pittsfield (4/5): Too expensive for what we got - Small room, no balcony and only occassional hot water, expected more for what we paid.
- Parvinder singh (10/5): If you looking peacefull holiday you should choose - Clean, silence ,easy approach to beach good food, understanding staff, polite owners lady and her 2 son. Really piece full holiday. 3 out of 5 star.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice enough for a 2 star and close to the beach - Nice family run hotel with basic facilities, we arrived not realising that India's biggest dance music event, Sunburn, was on the door step, however there wasn't any noise pollution, although the beaches were very busy. Watch out for scam artists trying to clean your ears and if you are of a hedonistic nature offering to supply you herbs, in a moment of weakness we succumbed to both, at least the ear cleaner did supply the service!
- suraj (10/5): Nice stay. Awesome location - Nice stay. Awesome location.. Just near the beach. Good friendly staff.
Just that they clean the room once in 3 days.
Awesome tea.
Less option for breakfast but not bad.Rooms are big and good.
I would recommend you this hotel/ home stay
- Amrita (10/5): Nice hotel best part was the distance from vagator - The hotel was nice and clean. Its not a very lavish hotel, but you are noyt going to goa for hotel comforts.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Basic and close to the beach - Room was basic enough for a couple of nights stay, area was pretty quiet but I think that was just because it was the end of the monsoon season. Owner very helpful. 1 minute walk from the beach.
- Verified traveler (8/5): 2 minute walk from Vagator beach! - The Yellow House isn't fancy at all, but it has everything you need if you're looking for a quiet location very close to the beach. Showers had hot water, and the rooms were furnished with clean sheets and towels. The mattress is pretty firm, which would be the only downside. The family that runs the hotel is extremely friendly and welcoming, and were very helpful in answering any questions and helping us navigate the local area. If you are ok with not have the most luxurious room and just want a simple and clean place to stay that is literally a 2 minute walk from the beach, the Yellow House is a great option!
- vishal (8/5): - location was very good
