- X6123BXlisah (10/5): Didn't want to leave! - Was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but we had a fabulous time at Kalimera Village. If you go expecting a traditional Greek home with lots of character you will not be disappointed. This is such a welcoming, relaxing place to be. The pool was great, view from the balcony was lovely, enough equipment in the kitchen to get by but so many restaurants in a 5 min radius and the food at a good price. Supermarkets 5 mins away....down the hill. Slow and steady and it was fine getting up it. Loved our holiday at Kalimera Village!
- Connector735323 (10/5): Wonderful! - We absolutely loved our stay at Kalimera Village. We were looking for smaller (number of rooms, rather than size of rooms), traditional accommodation in the hope that we would get a more personal and authentic experience. Kalimera was perfect. We stayed with our 2 teenage (tall) children and were in one of the rooms yet to be renovated. It suited us perfectly, it had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two balconies, it was plenty big enough for us all. It was basic but very clean and had everything we needed. The bedrooms had air-conditioning at no extra cost and the apartment was cleaned every other day. We used the pool on most days and quite often had it to ourselves. We booked for Bed and Breakfast, and each morning the lovely Kosta provided us with a fabulous breakfast, with the bonus of an amazing view overlooking the sea. Kostas and Anna really made a difference to our stay, they were both so welcoming and accommodating. Kalimera is just a short walk from the restaurants and bars of Piskopiano with a large selection of good quality options to choose from. The closest restaurant is about a three-minute walk away (Kostas Taverna - well worth a visit, lovely people and lovely food) and the spa at the bottom of the hill is great for all the basics and lovely fresh salads, rolls and pastries too. We couldn't fault our stay; we loved it and did not want to leave - we hope to come back again one day.
- daniellewO42RF (8/5): Great stay! Would recommend! - We stayed at Kalimera Village for 13 nights. Had a lovely stay and would return in the future! We stayed comfortably in the classic apartment. The room was basic but had everything we needed. It was cleaned every two days, with fresh bedding and towels. We were surprised to have shower gel provided due to it being self-catering. The safe and air-con were also free, which was an added bonus. We were surprised with how many bars and restaurants were nearby (5 min walk). There is a whole street full with many cuisines. The only downside was the wifi which only worked in the kitchen area and poolside. Also, the walk up from Hersonissos was painful! The hill was unbelievably steep! 20 minute walk minimum, but we found we didn’t need to go down that often due to many food places near by.
- Resort00156614758 (10/5): Loved it here - Spent 2 weeks here in July, superb location on a quiet street in Piskopiano, Anna welcomed us along with Kosta and we were taken to our room, brilliant room with an upstairs, balcony with amazing view, plenty of storage, air con and a comfy bed, downstairs has a kitchen with a kettle provided and a little stove, fridge, table & chairs, the front room had a sofa ( can use as a sofa bed) a tv and another balcony, it’s a really lovely place to stay. You can have breakfast on the roof terrace made by Kosta, delicious omelets, cereals, fresh fruit, cheeses all very tasty. The villages piskopiano & Koutalafari are just a couple of minutes down the road. I would definitely stay here again we had no issues at all just a perfect stay ❤️
- seanb361 (10/5): Great rustic stay in a lovely part of Crete - Very nice apartments that have a rustic feel in a really nice location. We booked these apartments for a few nights before onward journey elsewhere in Crete. We would usually always stay by the coast but it was very nice staying up the hill and in the villages and the small pool is perfect to keep you cool. The owner showed lots of hospitality and the breakfast is simple but nice too. There are lots of very good restaurants near by and would recommend exploring the near by villages at night. We had a great time and hope to return next year. Would recommend for value for money.
- koekje2 (10/5): Absolutely wonderfull - Incredible host, named Kosta, has given us the best service, breakfast etc, very childfriendly , rooms were very nice, clean, basic, super nice sea view , it was our first time but definitely not the last , thank you so much for giving us a wonderfull holiday , swimming pool was also very nice, my 5 year old had the best time!! Nearby a lot of nice restaurants and a supermarket, for me it was 10/10 ! :)

- DavidFox (10/5): Quiet, relaxing, peaceful - Just got back from a restful week at Kalimera Village. We had always fancied staying here as it seemed so quiet and Anna had shown us round on two previous occasions. First the good: cleaning is probably the best we have come across. Bed changed every other day and apartment cleaned top to bottom. Air conditioning is free, which is very rare these days. Anna genuinely does her best to ensure that you have an enjoyable holiday. Views from most of the apartments are superb. I should also mention that every apartment is different- no ticky-tacky boxes here! The dog, Canello, is friendly but fails as a guard dog due to his age-17! We only had the breakfast one morning as we don’t normally have breakfast on holiday but it was wholesome and reasonably priced. Towels for the pool are free and are of excellent quality. Points of concern: we were the only Brits for the whole week which didn’t bother us but solo travellers might get a bit lonely. The clientele were mostly Dutch. We had the smallest room which would have comfortably slept four. The rooms are generous but this does attract groups of teenagers. All in all we had a wonderful time. Would we return? - can’t wait!

- monikar142473 (8/5): Fantastic views! - I used loveholidays online to book flights, transfers & accommodation as a/ it worked out less expensive & b/ it gave you more options than package holiday agents online such as Tui or Jet2 so this brought up this property & many others in the villages of Piskopiano & Koutouloufari. I had the benefit of staying at the Asterias Village last year so I knew roughly where these apartments would be & yes as others have said they are not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. It's a steepish slope to get up & down & multiple steps at the property, depending on where you are. It was 52 steps to room 9, I counted them! That said because we were so high, we had the best views over the whole area & it was amazing, day or night & to wake up to that view from where you sleep - bliss! We did tell the owner, Anna, that we would be late getting in & it became later & later as our flight was delayed about an hour or so & then our shared transfer took about an hour & then we were dropped off at the bottom of Piskopiano & had to walk up! We managed to find our way & as requested rang the doorbell & we were shown to our apartment by the night manager who also gave us a bottle of water each but yep we made it! I would say anyone booking with love holidays take the private taxi transfer option both ways if you stay here as only a car or small van will get up these hills! We stayed in an apartment that could actually sleep 6 so it had a downstairs, with no air con & an upstairs with 2 bedrooms. Also 2 balconies. We just lived out of our cases downstairs as our dressing room & slept upstairs in the double room. As already stated, the apartments are basic but clean. Towels & bedding are provided/changed every other day & we enjoyed staying there. It wasn't an upgraded bathroom & it would be great to go there again & get an upgraded one as the shower curtain was quite annoying but the water was great for pressure & we had all the facilities we needed included free wi fi. We had the sun in the morning on the balcony so it was very easy to relax there of a morning with a cuppa & sunbathe. There is a small pool across the road which was nice with an honesty bar & we used that a few times. Sometimes just having it for ourselves. Anna the owner was very accommodating indeed & rang taxis for us & we were able to secure our apartment for a late checkout with no trouble at all. We were packed off with a bottle of water each
- Johnheritage444 (6/5): Location amazing - Great welcome by the owner on the late night arrival and she was very accommodating in arranging an airport pick up. The location is amazing with very nice views down to the Sea. Only a short walk from Old Hersonissos one direction and to Koutouloufari in the other, but in the traditional village of Piskopiano. All three are beautiful. The room was very basic, air con upstairs but not downstairs. We had a balcony on both floors, but one had damaged wooden spindles which we felt nervous about, having got 2 young children. We believe we had one of the older rooms as the newer rooms in the photos looked lovely. Bed was very comfy, cleaners daily and did an OK job. You must be reasonably fit to stay here as its situated on a steep hill with lots of steps to access the rooms. The hotel has strict timelines around noise. The hotel owner addressed me in front of the entire pool in a very aggressive manner about noise and an apparent baby nappy that had been left poolside. I tried to go later to apologise for this oversight and misunderstanding, but she was even more aggressive and threatened to throw us out of the hotel for one more indiscretion. We therefore felt very uncomfortable and had to minimise our stay in the hotel, ensuring we left the area at the quiet time (in our group there were 5 children altogether, there was no chance of quiet!) The breakfast at the hotel is really nice and the two younger staff were very pleasant allowing us to keep our prams in their store room which helped massively. We probably wouldn't return as a family, we think the hotel is nice but is aimed towards couples or older families who like peace and quiet.
- MrsPLincs_England (8/5): Rustic and lovely - We booked this accommodation as our usual apartments were not available and we liked the idea of a 2 bedroom apartment as we have a teen. Kalimera is in a wonderful position above the church in Piscopiano providing amazing views. These are not at all suitable for people with mobility issues but we enjoyed the extra walk to work up an appetite. We were greeted warmly by the lovely owner Anna the amazing couple working for her this summer, Justina and Roddy. I can not praise the work ethic and professionalism of them enough, they are an asset for anyone to have working for them. They provide a fantastic breakfast, amazing value but I felt bad for wasting food as there was so much! Roddy also prepares prefect cocktails, taking pride in all he does. The apartment was very spacious, cool, quiet and comfortable, dated but clean . Pleasant pool area , nice mix of all ages and nationalities staying. Both bathrooms would benefit from an upgrade, I was shown one of the refurbished rooms and they have fabulous bathrooms, would pay extra for such a room if we return. With a little investment, these really could be a hidden gem, I would happily return .

- amandacM8382BD (10/5): Wonderful traditional apartments with a warm welcome - What a wonderful place to stay we only stayed one night wished it was more.when we arrived we were greeted and shown around our apartment which was a traditional Greek apartment .little steps down to the lounge with a terrace.modern bathroom nicely equipped kitchen. Then stairs up to a huge bedroom with a large balcony with wonderful views.air con was included .and we were told we could check out anytime the next day.

- Roufnchoudhury (10/5): Excellent location for families and accommodation - We went for 10 days and stayed in a spacious 2 bedroom with a massive balcony and views of the beauty sea and mountains. The accommodation was perfect; clean, safe and very spacious. The staff were extremely hospitable and the manager/owner, Anna, was so kind and helpful. The villas are set against the backdrop of wonderful mountains and in a peaceful residential area called Piskopiano. It’s a stones throw away from the picturesque village called Koutouloufari - there you’ll find boutique shops, a diverse range of excellent restaurants and more. The villas have access to 2 pools and 2 bar/restaurants. You really will not be disappointed - we had a magical time with our 3 kids. I have attached pictures of both Piskopiano and Koutouloufari Village.
- 542mathieus (10/5): Great - Thanks to Kostas for his delicious fried eggs in the morning! Thanks to the lovely staff! Apartments are quiet and cleaned every 2 days, so it's very pleasant and comfy. Beautiful view on the sea and the mountains. Clean swimming pool with more than enough chairs and umbrellas to relax. We really enjoyed our vacations
- dawndenner (10/5): Charming traditional quaint but very special accommodation - It is so pretty here with panoramic views over the sea and mountains when u first arrive it literally takes your breath away so so beautiful. The village of piskopiano gives you a real taste of a Greek village and koutalaferi next door ( 5 min walk) is even more charming with so many pretty tradional buildings and restaurants we found ourselves reluctant to go down to herronassiss didn't want to miss out on the many restaurants to choose from. The accommodation is very basic, however clean spacious with fantastic outside space (we had the 2 bedroom apartment over two floors 👌) but so charming and rustic it adds to the tradional feel of the whole experience and kosta is so welcoming and makes the nicest eggs ever for breakfast and the best pancakes!! 👌 We woke him at 1am after a flight delay took him 2 mins to greet us and give us a drink after travelling so Thanku kosta it was very much appreciated he also took us to the airport yday wen our transfer didn't arrive at an excellent cost nothing was too much trouble for him 😇. The pool area is special too as its small pretty and so relaxing the whole complex is very well maintained and looked after u can't help but feel happy every day u wake up there. It was the perfect choice and we were so glad we booked it best holiday we ever had as a family. We were looking for an authentic Greek experience and this whole area will give u that.. It was perfect would highly recommend kalimera Village hotel truly special 😍 😍 😍
- X835WQkateb (10/5): Family holiday to piskopiano - We’ve just returned from a fabulous 2 week stay at kalimera village. We are a family of 5 so we had the 2 bedroom apartment. It was a great size, over 2 levels. One bedroom and bathroom downstairs, then upstairs another bedroom, kitchen with lounge area and extra bed and a bathroom. The balcony was big enough for the family. We had great views of Hersonissos and the the sea of Crete. The pool is small but very pretty. We never had a problem finding a space around it though. There is a self service bar selling a selection of drinks. You just write down what you had and your room number. The apartments are set in a really pretty part of piskopiano and is a short walk to the bars of tavernas. It’s also in a close location to Koutouloufari and old Hersonissos. Costas and Anna were the perfect hosts. Costas prepared breakfast that were only a small additional charge. In all, we’ve had an amazing holiday. Our chose of accommodation definitely played a big part in that. Thank you, Costas and Anna.

- 316alainf (8/5): Fantastic group celebration in May 2019 - We had fantastic stay for a few days as a group of 25 of people for a celebration end of May. The hotel is simple but has everything we wanted, pool , bar, outside dining room, etc. Six and four people apartments are large and all have nice equiped terrace with seaview. We were nicely welcomed and very well adviced by the ressort personnel, especially Kostas for visits and tavern adresses. There are plenty of shops and taverns at walking distance in Piskopiano village of the two other nearby villages. First beaches are reachable within a 20 minutes walk. We can only recommend Kalimera Village
- fredrikh857 (10/5): Cosy place with great rooftop terrace - We visited Kalimera Village during August and found the place perfect for our stay. The great hospitality from the owners made us feel like home. Our apartment hade a nice and spacious balcony wIth a great ocean view. There is also a beutiful rooftop terrace where they serve delicious breakfast and drinks in the evening. The small village of Piskopiano have some nice tavernas, supermarket and souverni shops. Not to long of a walk down to the far more busy a streets and beach of Hersonissos.

- Mario S. (8/5): Ruhiges Hotel in Traumlage - Wer Ruhe sucht ist hier absolut richtig. Das kleine Appartement-Hotel liegt im kleinen Dorf Piskopiano in oberer Hanglage. Es ist absolut ruhig und ideal zum Entspannen. Wer Party und Action sucht ist hier falsch, ebenso jene, die sich den ganzen Tag bedienen lassen wollen. Mit dem Mietwagen erreicht man schnell alle möglichen Orte auf der Insel. Die Zimmer sind einfach und sehr sauber. Das Frühstück bietet frische, lokale Angebote, ist aber ebenso recht einfach gehalten, aber sehr zu empfehlen. Hervorzuheben ist die überaus nette Hotel-Managerin Elina, die stets ein freundliches Lächeln für einen übrig hat und mit Ihren Tipps für die Erkundung der Umgebung sowie Restaurant-Tipps immer genau unseren Geschmack traf.
- A S (8/5): A clean hotel - The positive point: clean! The negative: there was a constant drain smell, loads of mosquitoes and the lower level of the apartment needs a fan if people want to sleep there as it was too hot! The hotel is 25 mins walking from the seaside and it is located in a very steep hill. For us, it was ok and didn't bother us, but if you don't like walking then think twice!
- Debs (8/5): Wonderful stay - Kalimera Village was a lovely place with a warm and fantastic host and staff. Elina is a very accommodating and helpful lady, nothing was too much for her to help us with. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Kalimera Village.
- A (10/5): great! - The hotel is very enjoyable, away from the buzz, but quite close to some really good restaurants. A great place to relax. There is an amazing terrace for breakfast, and parking spaces. There was good internet, and quite a nice kitchen. Everything very clean, nice and tidy. The hostess was amazing!
- Familerejsende (10/5): Roligt og unikt hotel med autentisk atmosfære - Vi boede, med vores datter på 6 år, i 14 dage på Kalimera Village. Her er en skøn udsigt fra værelserne over havet, Hersonissos by og omegn. Selve hotellet ligger tilbagetrukket i pitoreske omgivelser - som i et postkort fra en græsk landsby. Ejeren af Kalimera Village, Elina, er imødekommende og opmærksom på sine gæsters behov og er altid klar med hjælp, når man får brug for det. Kalimera Village har hvad man skal bruge hvis man kan lide en ferie, hvor man har privatliv. Det er ikke et femstjernet, all inclusive, luksushotel, men de få lejligheder der er, gør at man får en personlig og ordentlig behandling. Lejlighedernes faciliteter er lidt slidte, men der er pænt og rent, og den søde rengøringsdame skifter håndklæder og sengetøj hver 2. dag. Vi vil anbefale Kalimera Village til alle det som os, ønsker en roligt ferie i jeres eget tempo med de basale fornødenhede og fem stjerner for udsigt, omgivelser og personlig betjening.

- Sebastian (10/5): etwas abseits vom Trubel von Chersonissos - sehr nette Gastgeberin, freundlich, hilfsbereit, gutes Preis- Leistungs- Verhältnis, grosser sauberer Pool, grosse Zimmer mit kleiner Küche für Selbstversorger, gutes Frühstück mit lokalen Produkten erhältlich, auch viele kleine Tavernen in der Nähe, kleiner Supermarkt in der Nähe, für Ausflüge Auto empfohlen, zentral gelegen, 30 Minuten vom Flughafen
- Tim (10/5): Away from it all... - Arrived from airport via hire car to the village. Hire car worth getting as you may wish to get food from supermarkets and sight see. Not imperative - but taxi to & from airport for family of five would have been a fifth of car hire anyway. Our apartment was self catering (although they obviously do breakfast and other quality food offerings), clean & had air-con in bedrooms. Basic kitchenette was functional with full size fridge. Maid service with fresh sheets every 4 days, and towels every two. Rubbish removed and loo roll replaced. Floor mopped and beds made on towel change over. Swimming pool clean, nice bar area, not too busy even when hotel was full. The couple who ran the business were professional, kind, courteous and attentive. They were approachable and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Really can't thank them enough for their welcome. We went on several trips as we like to alternate between pool days & sight seeing with our 3 kids. Recommend Spinalonga, Lasithi Plateau (turn right at T junction as you approach plateau and grab coffee at flower laden taverna on left - two km from the cave of Zeus) worth a visit. Take trainers - it's a 1km plod up a rocky path. We also made it to the water park - Aquaplus - which was good to do - but go later (3pm) as there is only so long one can splash about for... Lots of great restaurants in village - Piscopiano. Kostas; Litchnos; Patricko and Aposperida were our favourite - service and food grea
- Rachel (10/5): Lovely apartment with beautiful view. - We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Kalimera Village. Elena and Dimitris, who run it look after you really well and give great advice on where to eat and visit. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to get away from it all in beautiful quiet surroundings but also wants to be in easy walking distance of a range of tavernas and local bars.
- Mike (10/5): Nice friendly appartments - We spent 1 week at Easter break here. Facilities very comfortable with very pleasant and helpful owner. Excellent breakfasts with fresh local produce. Pleasant, quiete village with good tavernas and shop. Short walk downhill to main town. Very convenient for the main sites and beaches if you have a car (15 minute walk to main bus line). The appartments all had beautiful views over the bay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A great place to relax with friendly staff - Kalimera Village turned out to be exactly as we had expected. The owners were very friendly and good not do enough to help us make our stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. The taxi transfer we arranged was very prompt. Our apartment was much bigger than we expected for a 1 bedroom and had a great balcony with views of the sea. The bar was in a lovely setting and was a good place to start our evenings out and finish them! We also pre-paid for breakfast which was always prompt and varied. Lunch menu was limited which was fine but did take some time when ordered, so make sure you are not in a rush. The pool area was close and very quiet and clean, with a convenient bar on site. Kaliemra is really well located for the villages close by. Overall, Kalimera is great value for money, providing traditional clean well maintained apartments in a great location with super friendly and attentive owners. I would definitely consider going back.
