Guest Reviews
- Richard (10/5): - 5 stars is not enough for Victoria’s. The place is amazing in an amazing part of the world. Our new home away from home
- Roxane (10/5): - Lovely room and a fabulous location. Staff were very warm and amenable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice location and wonderful staff. Unfortunately the property has not been maintained, it looked old and worn inside the rooms. The lounge which was a pull out bed - the cushioning had collapsed and was covered in fake tan. The bed had two distinct dents in it from people sleeping. It seemed tired - disappointing considering the location and cost. The staff are friendly and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Had to cancel because of an unexpected death in the family. Five days notice but no refund
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location with very friendly and helpful staff.
- Lisa (8/5): Lovely place in a secluded area of Byron - Victoria's is a beautiful property nestled in a delightful enclave in Byron. The staff were attentive and kind, and it felt like I was returning to a familiar home. The room was on the smaller side and there were stains on the bathroom blinds - but these are certainly first world problems! Overall, a lovely place for a romantic weekend away.
- Lesley (10/5): Wategos - Victoria’s is a three minute walk to the beach which provides a little privacy from the public walking and swimming at wategos. The property provides ample entertainment areas that allow you to relax and enjoy Wategos in your own way. Fluer, Victoria’s manager polite, helpful and goes beyond her job description. Two day stay was fabulous. Rae’s down the road has a great breakfast providing a magnificent backdrop of the beach though expensive. Staff fantastic.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing place and service.
Great place for a few nights.
- Gustav (2/5): GRUMPY STAFF - WATCH OUT - The service was pretty bad and the staff really grumpy and rigid!
- Grant (10/5): Exquisite Accommodation - Its all about this location and the boutique accommodation. A beautiful property!
- Kerrie (10/5): Perfect location for a romantic getaway! - First time staying at Victoria's, definitely won't be the last. Comfortable room, beautiful spa, Staff excellent, very helpful and friendly.
Location perfect! Cannot wait to come back.
- Jason (10/5): - Well
The location is unbeatable. Victoria's is a tastefully renovated house in Wategos Beach. The room was excellent. Only point to pick was that the daily service got missed on one day but the staff were really approachable so sure that it would have been done if we had bothered to point it out. Breakfast in the verandah was very good. Also the mini bar drink options were pretty limited and a little ostentatious for my taste but again being massively picky here. No hesitation to return here in the future, and frankly with a beautiful 15min walk to Byron why would you torture yourself with the tourist overflow there for virtually the same price when you could be at Wategos!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice accommodation and wonderful staff, beautiful place to be.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The staff make the difference - The staff were magnificent. Very accommodating and made us feel most welcome. Always friendly and helpful
- Cornelis (10/5): Restful - The room was big and beautiful. We had the cooked breakfast, a perfect souffle was presented alone with fruit, croissant and cheeses. Staff very helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not as good as expected - Had high expectations of the room and service which weren't met. Close to the beach.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was fantastic, staff were very friendly and accommodating!
We will be staying there again and would definitely recommend for a relaxed, comfortable getaway.
- Sammytina (6/5): Overpriced - Booked for a Sat. Night wanting a last minute getaway, Byron is expensive but at $499 we thought this was going to be a bit special. On arrival a rather stressed lady checked us in, on being shown our room we were surprised to see that the three windows down the side opened onto a stone retaining wall barely a meter away. The French door at the end opened to a little lawn.
Our room door was opposite a toilet which was left open. The room decor was tired, not awful but just dated and not luxury. The overall feeling of the room was a bit like a cave, the rug under the bed was too small. The amenities in the bathroom more akin to a motel than an expensive hotel. We were told on arrival that if we wanted breakfast we had to book it before 5 pm we forgot to do this and really felt like a cup of coffee the next morning before we left, on presenting at the checkout the staff member simply said did you have anything from the mini bar? Ok well go can leave now?! It really would have been so easy to be polite and offer a cup of coffee, we were so surprised we did just leave! Our room adjoining the breakfast room was noisy on Sunday morning. I really feel that Victoria's is absolutely not worth the money, the lack of caring, courtesy and tired"Tuscan?" decor make this a bit shamefull on the international hotel market.
We have stayed in divine hotels in Europe, Asia and Africa for a lower price and been made to feel a lot more welcome. lift your game Victoria's.
- michael (10/5): luxury at byron - very nice luxury spot, ideal and peaceful for a couple.
- Dale (6/5): older style bed and breakfast needs an upgrade - Hotel was advertised as close to five stars. i would rate it a 3 out of 5. Facilities need an upgrade.
Carpet left fibres over our clothes and they dont seem to wash out.
Room not vacucumed each day just bed made and bathroom cleaned.
Staff were not available on the premises. Piped music not of our choosing - we like to chose!
Close proximity meant noise and smells from the neighbors room pervaded our comfort.
Expected more for the price.
Facilities are outdated with today's standards.
Overall clean and comfortable.
Pool not heated in winter.
Fire place you can build and light the fire yourself - not really what i want to do on a holiday.
External doors not able to be used to come and go as they dont have locks on the outside!!
- goldcoaster (10/5): Fantastic! - Simply great! Such wonderful place. Very comfortable.
- Catherine (10/5): European ambience close to beach - My husband booked this hotel at gorgeous Byron Bay for a 1 night stay for my birthday. We live on Gold Coast. So it wasn't a long stay. But I loved the European style and excellent attention to detail in the building and decoration. Reminded me of an Italian villa and some small boutique hotels we stayed in in Greece. The room had concertina doors that folded right back onto a balcony where we sat after the beach and also after we came back from dinner.
Staff were friendly and unobtrusive. We only ate breakfast there which was fresh fruit, yoghurt and cheeses. Served in a wonderful large open room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): An absolute must - Perfect and amazing staff - loved it
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful hotel, close to the beach - Door handle were rediculiously low, had to kneel to get the key in.
An loud alarm went of three times during the night, startled me and woke me from my sleep.
- Simon (10/5): A beautiful and indulgent home away from home. - Victoria and her staff present a wonderful property. It is extravagant and tasteful. Thought appears to have gone into everything.
- Zac (10/5): Nice hotel, quiet and convenient. - Beautiful part of the world, and the hotel was no exception.
- jo (8/5): Nice hotel close to the beach - When your paying $700 per night, I would like to see foxtel instead of local channels and I would like room service. Don't get me wrong as the room was beautiful but I was looking for more pampering I guess for the amount I spent. Plus our car wasn't undercover and I found myself checking to see if it was still in the car park throughout the night. I guess I wanted more for $700.
- Glen (10/5): Great location and beautiful facilities - A perfect location for a short break, close to the beach and a short drive to Byron Bay makes this location ideal for a relaxing time away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Kimberley was very helpful and pleasant. The location was great and I would reccommend Victoria's to other people.
- Mike (10/5): Absolutely fantastic - Beyond our expectations
Beautiful location, definitely going back!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the perfect get away and vicinity to watergo's beach makes it magical
- Barbara (10/5): - Facilities: Small bedroom only;
- Verified traveler (10/5): - excellent
- Luke (10/5): Outstanding - Outstanding. Great getaway with everything you need.
- chaowei (6/5): - Facilities: Nothing special; Value: Over-priced; Service: Helpful; Cleanliness: Lovely;
- Ben (2/5): Beauty juxtaposed by appalling hospitality. - After booking the executive day spa suite for my partners birthday surprised, I was told at arrival that I had been 'upgraded' to a room which cannot be booked online. Upon entering the room, I immediately recognised that it was of considerably lesser quality than the room which I had paid top dollar for, especially due to the fact that the spa bath could only fit one person. I returned to reception to ask Victoria if I could please see the executive suite which I had booked and found that there was a ladder inside with curtains that had not yet been attached. The room was considerably larger with a double spa bath and huge balcony - the quality of what I had expected from the photographs and why I had paid $1200AUD. Victoria then responded by saying "Do you actually think this is better than the other one?" to which I replied internally "Is this a joke?" but of course I kept polite and replied with a simple "Yes, i'm in no rush so I will come back in an hour after dinner" to which she replied "Well I am in a rush". Quite an unbelievably deceptive and rude experience to begin with - however the room and breakfast was amazing that I cannot deny - it just took me a few hours to forget about the welcoming.
- Edmond (10/5): -
- MARGARET (10/5): Comfort and luxury by the beach. - Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay by a day but we will be back with the whole family. Excellent staff, lovely room, and lots of little finishing touches. Definitely the quiet end of Byron but so relaxing.
- Angus (10/5): - Facilities: Above average; Value: Fair price; Service: Professional, Friendly; Cleanliness: Beautiful;
- Margot (10/5): - Facilities: Distinctive; Service: Warm helpful & friendly; Cleanliness: Beautiful;
Felt like a very cozy homey get away or a great honeymoon spot. We wished we could've stayed longer.
- Tracey (6/5): - Facilities: Basic, Good pool; Value: Exorbitant, Wategos monopoly; Service: Basic, Sufficient, Polite; Cleanliness: Lovely;
No breakfast
- mykala (10/5): The most amazing place to stay. - Victoria's was such a wonderful experience. From the moment you arrive it's truly spectacular . It feels like your living in paradise in a big mansion . The attention to detail was incredible from the friendly staff who felt like we were old friends to the fresh fruit and home baked sweets on arrival and fresh pastries on waking the next morning ! The decor and amazing features are truly perfection . I'm do happy to say I've found my new holiday destination in Byron Bay and will always return to Victorias !!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Victoria's at Watego's - Great location and beautifully appointed.Kimberly the manager is very hospitable.
The only negative is the bedroom is very small.
- JIll (8/5): - Facilities: Distinctive; Value: Moderate; Service: Professional, Friendly; Cleanliness: Pleasant;
- Greg (10/5): - Facilities: Outstanding; Value: Great deal; Service: Remarkable, Outstanding; Cleanliness: Pristine;
- craig (10/5): - Facilities: Top of the line; Value: Fantastic; Service: Remarkable; Cleanliness: Spotless;
- Scoop (8/5): Escape to Victoria's - Victoria's certainly has an olde world charm!
With the really hot weather I did enjoy the room airconditioning and the picture perfect pool which I virtually had to myself. The stairways though, were rather hot!
Part of the charm is the feel of an earlier era however some upkeep on furnishing/mats would give the place the pristine feel it deserves.
The bathroom was well appointed.
Watego's Beach is a beautiful spot and thank goodness it has Rae's divine restaurant as there is little else available nearby.
I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to return!
- Simon (8/5): - Facilities: Modern; Value: Reasonable; Service: Courteous;
Had a lovely dinner at Rae's nearby
- Katie (10/5): - Facilities: Home away from home; Value: Great deal; Service: Go the extra mile; Cleanliness: Spotless, Pristine;
The service was fabulous, thank you Victoria's :)
- Rebekah (10/5): - Facilities: Outstanding, Beautiful; Value: $$ but worth it; Service: Remarkable, Go the extra mile, All the extra touches!; Cleanliness: Immaculate, Beautiful;
Beautiful house, fantastic location just near the lighthouse, wonderful service - everything has been thought of!
