Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful room and bathroom, tasteful decor. Decent teabags (British reviewer) and proper coffee provided along with fridge and toaster. Pool and surround quite small but clean and shady. There is a railway line between the house and the beach, didn’t hear any trains but might be an issue for people with small children wanting to get straight on to the beach. Nice part of town. 10 mins walk to start of shops and cafes.
- Mark (10/5): - Beautiful property on the outskirts of town but close to the beach. Very quiet and lush surroundings. Room was roomy, comfortable and spotless.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Situated across the road from track to beach with a train line (vintage train passed whilst we were crossing) on the path to beach.
Less than 10 minute stroll to Main Beach.
Beautiful individual self contained rooms overlooking the pristine warm pool.
Secure parking on site.
Perfect quiet place to stay in the busy holiday period.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easy location, right at the beach, quite but quick 10 min walk to the the city centre. Accommodation was lovely and comfortable. Definitely not an old fashioned B&B.

The breakfast in the morning was delightful! Everything we needed and so much more. Fresh and delicious.

- JT (8/5): - Enjoyed our stay at Cavvanbah Beach House. Hosts were wonderful, and the muffins were delicious. Suite was very clean and comfortable. The curb appeal left a little to be desired as we had a little trouble identifying the property on arrival and the pool area needs work to be as shown in the advertising photo. Overall experience was very good. Thank you to Steve and Geoff.

The only drawback was the birds in the morning are very loud, but a nice way to wake each morning. Main town just a short stroll.

- Ian (10/5): Best in Byron - Amazing B&B, but it was so much more than that.
An ambience that was indescribable and the best beach in NSW is 60yds across the road.
Thanks for a fantastic stay guys.
- Lyndal (10/5): Studio room - The room was beautiful, surrounded by palms and overlooking the pool. The breakfast supplied was beyond incredible with fresh fruit, cereal, cake, bread and jams, etc. Muffins supplied for morning/afternoon tea. The hosts were very attentive. The rooms was equipped to five star standard - so comfortable. Off street parking available too. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Everything has been up-dated to current demands. The office has a full supply of information about what's on in the local area and the hosts have a thorough local knowledge to assist with inquiries. Love to go back when the weather isn't quite so wet.
- Tina (10/5): Easy walk to the beach - Friendly, service oriented staff. Lovely room next to the swimming pool. Excellent continental style breakfasts left in room fridge previous afternoon. Not tied to a time frame for breakfast. Able to sleep in if wanted and have breakfast at leisure in one's own time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly Haven - Owners were approachable, adaptable and the perfect mix of professional and friendly. Facilities were exceptional - clean and maintained with the upmost care throughout our stay. The breakfasts were pure bliss, with a treasure trove of plentiful local produce each morning... not to mention the surprise freshly baked muffins in the afternoon!
- Christine (10/5): Great service - With no hesitation I would recommend this accomodation.
Service was fantastic, really lovely breakfast choices and an afternoon muffin a delicious and a very welcome touch.
- Craig (10/5): Excellent boutique accommodation near the beach - Quiet and private, very comfortable, excellent hosts and yummy breakfasts. An excellent boutique offering for those wanting to be close to the beach and town in Byron Bay. Excellent service.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely surrounds - excellent service - close to everything quick stroll to the beach - great facilities - we had a very enjoyable time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a great stay albeit too short. Very neat, clean & tidy. Great continental breakfast delivered to room the night before. All local produce. Muffins as well!
- J (10/5): Privacy, style and comfort - This is a stylish B&B offering a great location opposite the beach, close to town and far enough away from Shirley Street to be quiet and peaceful. The accommodation is very comfortable and breakfasts are fantastic (different combinations of fruit, breads, juices and a 'main' are placed on your room each day).
Highly recommended.
- Jordan (10/5): very nice place - Very nice. Very close to the beach and a short walk to town Centre. Breakfast was excellent and very friendly staff. Recommended
- Julie (10/5): Excellent service. Delicious breakfast and muffin - Wonderful place to stay - close to beach and town. Great service and clean room.
- Jasmine (8/5): Amazing breakfasts! - Great location, lovely clean rooms and beautiful breakfasts. Only downfall was how loud the adjoining rooms are - we could hear every trip to the toilet, shower, footsteps walking over head... it meant no real sleep ins but still a wonderful little getaway.
- Jason (10/5): Perfect! - The trip to Byron was made fantastic by our stay here. Perfect location, a ten minute walk from town or two minute bike ride with the free bikes provided. The breakfast provided was excellent and fresh everyday, and the service was great. We will definitely be staying here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect - I am super picky about the places I stay in so I'm usually disappointed, but not here. Our room was so clean and comfortable. Great location and very friendly hosts. We will definitely be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable rooms and just across from the beach. Quiet location. Wonderful breakfast.
- Patricia (10/5): Heaven - The only way to describe the hotel is PERFECT... Geoff and Steve are wonderful hosts and make each guest feel special. They serve a wonderful breakfast which is eaten on your own balcony so there's no breakfast time , you eat when your ready. The beach is a 5min walk and is ( we think) the best beach area in Byron Bay. It's quiet and because it's so close it's easy to pop back for water and facilities. Then afte you can lay on perfect shade by the pool. Our stay was a wonderful break from Sydney and we left feeling refreshed, body and soul. We will be returning.
- Emma (10/5): Perfect little beach haven, close to everything! - My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cavvanbah Beach House, Geoff and Steven are great hosts and made our stay extremely comfortable. Having only four villas meant we barely saw another person and our stay was very peaceful and relaxing. I didn't realise how close we would be to the beach and the town centre, but the location was perfect for us.
- Peter (10/5): Byron quality B & B - This was a quality location. The hosts were very friendly , helpful with hints on the Bryson region and paid attention to the details . The room was excellently presented, very clean , good amenities , great breakfasts and good wifi . Just a short walk to the beach and an easy walk into Byron's restaurant & bars areas . Overall excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly service, great food, great people, going back, recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice cosy little hotel near to Main Beach! - Geoff and Steve have a lovely place here! When I booked with Expedia, they almost immediately sent me a welcome email, already waiting for me. They gave me tips of how to get there, and some tips on what to do in Byron Bay.
The room was really nice - spacious, with a mini fridge, toaster, kettle, dishes, glasses and cutlery - in case I wanted to have some food there. As I was leaving at 5:30 a.m. in the morning next day, they had already placed my breakfast in the mini-fridge: Fruit, Yogurt, Granola, Ham and Cheese, Toast with butter, Milk and Orange Juice.
The bathroom had a jacuzzi or spa pool, with all the amenities.
I loved this place and would stay there again.
- Donna (10/5): Beautiful location and setting - The Cavannbah Beach House is located a short walking distance from the hustle and bustle of town. It is surrounded by lush plants, trees, and flowers and provides the perfect setting for quiet reflection. I woke each morning to the sound of beautiful bird songs and an outstanding delicious breakfast which included fresh fruit and amazing muffins. It is a short walk to the pristine beach. Geoff and Steve were the perfect hosts and assisted me finding nature tours.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a great stay. The breakfasts are amazing! Would highly recommend.
- Samantha (10/5): Amazing beach house with the most lovely owners - My partner and I stayed at Cavvanbah Beach House for two nights. We wish we could have stayed for longer! The owners were absolutely amazing and really made us feel welcome. Their homemade breakfast that was left in our fridge every day was beautiful. They even left us two homemade muffins one morning which made our day! The room is great and we especially liked the spa bath. The location was also great - right next to the beach and only about a ten minute walk from the centre of Byron Bay. We will definitely be staying at Cavvanbah Beach House next time we are visiting!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely hotel in a good location - A lovey time. Breakfast was sett out great and tasted even better. A very comfy stay.
- Ruthie (10/5): Perfect location for a perfect holiday - From a very clean, beautifully set up room and cakes on arrival to yummy breakfast trays and a wide range of games, books and DVD's, the guys at Cavvanbah beach hotel treat you so well and have thought of everything to make your stay as perfect as possible.
Definitely worth a stay!
- Dennis (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful - We had a three day stay and picked the perfect place to stay. The breakfast was yummy and being able to help ourselves at our leisure in the room was great. The surprise afternoon tea was so good that we couldnt resist eating it every day!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing and luxurious beach house stay - Amazing stay-thanks. Geoff was fantastic and the food was wonderful. The attention to detail was top notch. I'd definitely come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect for a Mid Week Treat - It was my little sisters birthday the week just gone and we both had an amazing time.
Cavvanbah Beach House is a gem! We had our own Private Villa only a couple of minutes walk to Belongil Beach and it was amazing! Stephen and Jeff were both such gracious hosts and we were made to feel extremely welcome! The breakfast was epic! The perfect mid week treat for some pampering and girl time!
I would truly recommend this Beach House to everyone who visits Byron.
- Mat (10/5): A real gem - What a great place to stay - far enough from Central Byron to be quiet, yet close enough to walk into town easily. The fabled Muffins were exactly as described!
Facilities were exactly as seen in the photos and the evening delivery of Breakfast made for a very relaxed start to the morning without having to rush to breakfast.
The closeness of the beach meant trips were very frequent indeed.
The hosts could not have been more accommodating.
Definitely a place to return to!
- Kim (10/5): Beautiful bed and breakfast spot.
- What a wonderful spot. Our hosts were very kind and welcoming. You aren't far away from the beach. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was placed in the fridge for the next morning and was delicious. Imagine in summer it would be lovely sitting out on the little deck outside your room enjoying breakfast, but it was a little cool being May we opted to eat in the bedroom. Certainly value for money and would recommend to anyone going to Byron Bay.
- Nigel (10/5): - Owners very responsive informative and made you feel welcome
Also great breakfast
A must stay when in bryon bay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Close to beach and Byron. Delicious breakfast! - Amazing place to stay. Great hospitality and close walk to beach and Byron. Highly recommended.
- michele (10/5): Lovely room, close to the beach and town centre. - Lovely location. Room was great, very clean. Lovely breakfasts and owners :)
- Pam (10/5): - Our stay at Cavvanbah Beach House was ideal, even with the persistent rain. It was a perfect location an easy short 3min walk to the beach, but the pool was great to cool off in too. Town you could walk to in 10min, but we drove each day. The car park was conveniently located to the villas. The owners were attentive and provided a lovely breakfast range, plus delicious afternoon baked treats. Very nice to return home to. It was quiet and peaceful and suited our requirements to chill for the week. Our only minor suggestions, were for some other options with pillows (there may have been, but we did not enquire) and some more bench space in the bathroom.
- Melissa (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful retreat!!!! - 100% will return again the next time we are in Byron, amazing location, and incredible room.
The breakfast each morning was the icing on the cake, delicious!!!!!
Our hosts were so hospitable, the grounds tropical and the rooms comfortable and inviting.
A quick walk down the path and you are at the ocean, wouldn't change a thing!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful peaceful hotel with fabulous brekkie. - Wonderfully helpful staff with a beautiful clean secluded room very close to beach and town. Perfect for a getaway.
- David (10/5): Australia holiday accommodation - In one word EXCELLENT
- Matthew (10/5): Best accommodation in Byron Bay - Great location, very attractive setting, beautiful and comfortable accommodation, attentive service.
Perfect
- Ash (10/5): Beautiful stay, close to the beach & town! - We absolutely loved Cavvanbah Beach House. Geoff and Steven where excellent and welcoming hosts. The room was super clean, beautifully decorated and a lovely breakfast and homemade muffins for afternoon tea were supplied daily. A short walk to town and directly across the road from the little bush track to the beach. Highly recommend!
- seastar (10/5): Romantic hideaway - steps from the beach - We stayed here for a couple of nights while our friends stayed downtown. We enjoyed the quiet location, just steps from the beach away from the hustle and bustle. The decor was serene and the bed and linens were extremely comfortable. Just a short walk away we were able to meet our friends for dinner - they were totally jealous of our location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect getaway for a weekend - Very comfortable bed, absolutely amazing hosts, good breakfast, nice patio area outside each room, quiet location yet close to beach and town. They've put a lot of attention to detail when it comes to the room decorations and finishing touches which made the room immaculate and luxurious. Highly recommend and we'll definitely stay again next time we go to Byron.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Parental get away without the kids. - We were there for a friends wedding. Stayed for 2 nights. Shuttle airport transfer dropped us off out front. We felt instantly relaxed in the location. Welcoming host, efficient, knowledgable and helpful. Did not want to leave.
- Simon (10/5): Amazing BnB - Can't recommend it enough! Steven and Geoff were amazing hosts who went the extra mile. The room was perfect - clean, big comfy bed and all of the little touches that make a stay perfect. Breakfast was delicious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic staff highly recommended - great staff, fantastic location, very clean and modern. Nice and quiet perfect for a weekend get away. The Breakfast platter was a beautiful and personal touch to our stay. Would recommend this place to all my family and friends
- Barbl (8/5): Quiet get away - Clean and peaceful with delicious breakfast. Close to a beautiful stretch of beach and an easy walk into town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place, great muffins. Thanks for the hospitality.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic room and great breakfast
Very nice wish we could have stayed longer
- Dom (10/5): Romantic getaway in Byron - Staying at Cavvanbah was a great experience. The hosts Geoff and Steven couldn't have been more hospitable. Breakfast every morning was a great selection of muesli, fruit, toast and cold meat/ salmon, plus fresh muffins were delivered for a midmorning snack. The location was perfect, being just a short walk through the dunes, over the abandoned railway tracks (cool photo opp) to the beach and a 10 minute walk into the middle of town. The room was well appointed, with a nice big bed and huge bathroom including a spa bath. Although it didn't impact us as we were planning on eating out anyway, be aware that there isn't much of a kitchen facility in the room (small bench and fridge), nor any table really to eat at (except for an outside table which we didn't discover until the second day). Overall, it was perfect for a few romantic nights away. We would highly recommend it.
- Glenn (10/5): Lovely Stuff - Great room, location and breakfast. We didn't have time to use the pool or sample the DVD collection, but, the food and service provided was 1st rate.
- Ernest (10/5): Ernest and Sandra - Loved. Our private little cottage. The owners couldn't do enough for us and even gave us some freshly cooked muffins when we were leaving.
One small thing the pillows were too high for us and it would have been great to have a choice but overall we couldn't complain at all. A lovely short stay over.
- Deb (10/5): Friendly comfortable hotel close to beach - Geoff and Steve made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to help. Location is short walk to Byron town or Belongil. Breakfast and afternoon muffins were great too. Thanks for a lovely short stay.
- Susan (10/5): Lovely private resort - This is small resort with a few studio apartments around a pool. The owners Geoff and Steven live on site. The apartments are well set up with an outside deck, large comfortable bed, lounge and small kitchen bench with a bar fridge. The bathroom is quite spacious with lovely towels and accessories. The kitchen is stocked with a selection of teas and coffee and a wonderful continental breakfast is supplied as well as fresh cooked muffins daily. Breakfast was juice, fresh fruit cut up, yoghurt, muesli, bread which could be toasted, jam and honey. Each day there was also a delicious different savoury selection provided to have on the bread or toast. The only issue with the room was that there was no table to have breakfast at except outside and it was too cool to do this during the time we were there. The resort is a short walk to the beach down a sand track and a 10 minute walk to town. It is in a quiet street in a convenient location. We would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great Location. Very clean, presents well and has everything you need.
- matthew (10/5): Bliss - The rooms where perfect for me and my ever pregnant partner very nice tranquil place to wake up to and only a short walk to the beach over the old train tracks through the natural bushes... And to come back to a beautifully made breakfast and freshly made muffins there is no need to be going to cafés... Big thumbs up for a getaway
- Chris & John (10/5): Beautiful accommodation in a great location. - Could not have wished for a better place to stay in Byron Bay. Cavvanbah Beach House is in a quiet residential area only a couple of minutes from the beach and a 10 minute stroll to the centre of town.
Steve and Geoff welcomed us on arrival and made us comfortable from the start. The accommodation is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was a feast and absolutely delicious. Healthy but indulgent. An added bonus were the delicious biscuits and muffins that Geoff baked fresh for afternoon tea.
Both our hosts were knowledgeable about the area and recommended some great places to visit and some lovely restaurants.
Would highly recommend any one visiting the area to stay at this property.
- Peter & Donna (8/5): Good location with shortcut to the beach - A very nice room with a private deck area. The breakfast was all cold and delivered to our fridge the night before. The meal was good but for the price paid we expected better.
The room was very nice and the furnishings were top class. But to fill the coffee pot you had to use the bathroom sink.
Sorry if this sounds a little picky but we were charged top dollar and based on our experiences elsewhere we expected more.
- couple from syd (10/5): Comfortable, quiet and close to the beach - We had a lovely 5 nights and were sad to leave. A well appointed and very comfortable room. Amazing delectable breakfasts and warm muffins in arrival. Fabulous hosts.
We will be back again!!!!!
- Jade (10/5): -
- Loona (10/5): - Facilities: Home away from home; Value: Great deal; Service: Outstanding; Cleanliness: Beautiful;
The owner Jeff was such a nice guy, gave us some fresh muffins in the morning :)
- Nancy (10/5): located in residential neighborhood close to town - Wonderful hosts, breakfast was fabulous, clean rooms, location steps to beach and 7 minute walk to town. Highly recommend
