- Thomas S. (10/5): Historic hotel with cozy rooms at a great location - Great hotel for visiting the Schwarzwaldhochstraße, and heading across the border to the Alsase region in France. We enjoyed the included breakfast to start off our day and had a nice dinner at the restaurant one evening. The staff was very friendly and multilingual and helped us with our limited Deutsch. The room was comfortable and thankfully well heated. Thanks to the management and staff for maintaining an historic hotel from the 1600s and keeping up with 21st century amenities. We look forward to a future stay!

- David (10/5): - The staff at the hotel were very friendly and made all effort to make me feel at home: I was traveling with my dog and they allowed him into the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Dinner was excellent. The town of Overkirch is quite delightful - good place to wander around and the Obere Linde a very comfortable and convenient place to stay.

- Niels (8/5): Mooi hotel met mooi uitzicht vanuit restaurant - Leuk hotel met goede voorzieningen en vriendelijk personeel. Eten is zeer goed. Wel is het beetje vreemd dat niet alle hotelkamers bereikbaar zijn binnendoor, maar enkel via een gebouw aan de overzijde die enkel buiten bereikbaar is. Verder dik in orde.

- Verified traveler (6/5): ok older hotel; let's call it charming - it's an older hotel, so there is some charm there. it's got radiant heaters not forced air flow so the room temp can be finicky. it was dark in the rooms, poor lighting and a small window. again, it's an older hotel. it's very quiet which is nice. the wifi was ok, not terrible not great. the best thing going was the proximity to the castle ruins (ruins du Schauenburg) nearby. it was just right up the side street for the hotel. free parking was a nice benefit. breakfast was good. lots of choices of typical european breakfast with breads fruits, grains, cereals, eggs, meats etc.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nettes Hotel in historischem Gewand - Der Vogesenflügel z.B. in Fachwerkstil und innen hübsche Möbel mit gedrechselten Bettenaufsätzen. Im Bad auf Alt gemachte französische Armaturen( chaud/froid) und originelle Kacheln. Das Frühstück entsprach dem Standard eines 4-Sterne-Hotels. Wenn man wie ich nicht von den sehr freundlichen Eigentümern empfangen wird, kann es schon sehr seltsam sein, wenn man von der sich offenbar gestört fühlenden jungen Dame an der Rezeption nicht gegrüßt wird und monoton runtergespult wird, dass die Adresse auf dem Anmeldebogen fehle, das Frühstück in diesem Raum stattfinde und ob man noch einen Wlan-Schlüssel wolle. Es war wohl ein Ausrutscher, denn nachdem ich mich bei der Chefin am nächsten Morgen beschwert hatte, war diese sehr dankbar für den Hinweis.
- Andreas (8/5): Kurze Auszeit in nettem Hotel mit guter Küche - Wunderschönes Hotel im Riegelhaus-Stil. Die Zimmer sind jedoch nicht mehr auf dem neuesten Stand, aber recht gemütlich und praktisch eingerichtet. Besonders gefallen hat uns das blau-weiss gehaltene Badezimmer mit den altmodischen Armaturen. Ein Negativpunkt sind die brandneuen Matratzen, welche einfach viel zu hart sind. Nachdem wir die erste Nacht fast nicht schlafen konnten - auf dem Rücken liegend knapp erträglich, Seitenlage ging gar nicht - konnten wir am nächsten Tag - dank dem super netten und hilfsbereiten Personal - in ein Zimmer mit alten Matratzen wechseln. Die zweite Nacht war dann sehr erholsam. Besonders erwähnen möchten wir noch das tolle Restaurant mit leckerer Küche und ganz herzlicher Bedienung.

The room was large and the hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff even made us bacon and eggs on the spot! My only complaint is that the beds/pillows were not very comfortable. Other than that it was a great stay!

- Leon53 (10/5): Sumptuous buffet breakfast - Hotel Obere Linde is close to perfect. My room was very large, with a comfortable sitting area as well as twin beds, and a lovely view onto the garden at the back of the hotel. Free wifi was provided. A Guest card provided free local transport, and various other discounts were available. I enjoyed dinner on three nights, with an appetising range of dishes to choose from, at reasonable prices. There are good wines available by the glass. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have had, with many choices of juice, yoghurt, cereals, fruits, breads, cold meats, cheeses, eggs and excellent coffee. The staff are attentive and friendly. Oberkirch is a lovely town, well situated for day trips in the Black Forest. My only quibble: the shower is over the bathtub, so people with reduced mobility may find this difficult.

- Mike (8/5): Sehr nettes Hotel - EIn nettes Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Das Hotel liegt zentral so dass Cafes, Bank und auch der Stadtpark innerhalb weniger Minuten erreicht sind. Für Paare sehr gut geeignet. Das Hotel ist optimaler Ausgangspunkt für Besuche in Straßburg.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Room was very nice but no air conditioning - The room was very nice and spacious. The bathroom had blue and white plaid tile that made it very charming. The hotel itself was well kept up. The food was excellent....and breakfast was great. Internet was easy to connect to. Only drawback was no air conditioning. The weather was unusually hot and humid for the beginning of June and there was no breeze till 5 in the morning. The windows did open up very wide so when the air moved you could feel it. Some rooms have a balcony. Lovely roses and window boxes everywhere. A lovely garden with outdoor dining. Wish I could have stayed longer at a cooler time of the year.

- K&L (10/5): First Night in Germany - Wonderful - Our first night in Germany was at this very lovely hotel in Oberkirch. Obere Linde is beyond beautiful inside and out. Very traditional German architecture, gorgeous woodwork and decor, very German cleanliness abounds, great attention to detail. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room (and bathroom) on the second floor was large and bright with lots of windows with a walk out to the balcony with a view of the garden and the vineyards. The bed was a beautiful, large, comfortable, 4 poster bed with premium bedding and cozy duvets. The only noise we heard was the welcome sound of church bells in the morning. Some of the amenities we appreciated were: free/safe parking, free WIFI, in room safe, mini bar which featured local wines. The hotel restaurant is first class. (We had dinner and breakfast.) The food is wonderful and beautifully presented, complimented by the great service and the view. The breakfast was excellent from the breads to the meats and the cheeses and the fruit and the eggs, to the juices and champagne. The village is charming and in a most beautiful area surrounded by vineyards and orchards. Obere Linde is well situated for strolling through town or walking to the castle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

- Nigel Price (10/5): Can't get much better - On all counts, this hotel is a classic German hotel where you get great service and value for money. Would recommend unreservedly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): obere linde - Bon séjour. Toutefois le petit déjeuner buffet est un peu superficiel. Il manque de fruits, de jus de fruits variés, pas de brioches ou gâteaux divers. La poussière sous le lit doit approcher sinon...Les femmes de chambres jettent des objets qu'elles jugent initiles et qui sont à vous!! Par contre le restaurant est très bon. Viandes excellentes, servies excellemment. Les chambres sont grandes et confortables, mais vous vous débrouillez pour trouver la vôtre et pour monter vos bagages. Pour un 4 étoiles...Situé à une trentaine de kilomètres de Strasbourg il permet de rayonner sur L'Alsace aisément. Bon hôtel dans l'ensemble mais nous avons connu mieux.
- Maud (6/5): Sydtysk idyll - Väldigt pittoreskt hotell i korsvirkesstil. Stort, fint rum med liten gullig balkong. Badrummet fräscht och fint. Tyvärr var sängarna stenhårda och väldigt, väldigt smala. Det spelar ju ingen roll hur fint ett hotellrum är om det inte kan erbjuda en god natts sömn. Vi hade rest många mil innan vi kom fram och hade ytterligare många mil framför oss nästa dag. De smala, hårda sängarna gör att vi inte återvänder hit.
