Guest Reviews
- abraham (10/5): - Very clean, food was very good, room service was very good also.
Staff was very helpful and friendly.
We will surely come back
- Dale (10/5): Grand Resort with options for everyone!! - Really impressive resort. We visited in mid sept which is the slow season and it was great. The resort has a lot for its guests to enjoy. Nice large rooms all with ocean views. There are three pools, two outside bars, inside bar and club. Most the time we had the entire adult pool to ourselves. You have access to the resort next door, it was nice to stop for a drink when walking on the beach. There is a cafeteria style restaurant and the food was really good. They changed it up everyday which was nice. Traditional local dishes, and lots of other options like salad bars, sandwich bars, breakfast bars and pastry bars. Great Cafe onsite with fresh ground drinks. One day they did a seafood "feast", lots of options and they were cooking whole seasoned fish. The resort also has three very nice, reservation only restaurants. The Asian restaurant was great. Fresh seafood and creative dishes to give guests lots of variety. The resort has a list of daily activities for guests to sign-up for. Employees that host the activities work hard to make them fun and enjoyable. We had Natalia on several adventures and she was great, full of energy and very positive. Be sure to sign-up for the bike ride, they take through an Eco park in the jungle on a great flat path. For a change, we walked down the beach and caught the water taxi to Ixtapa Island and had the back side of the island to ourselves all day. Great food and snorkeling while relaxing all day in lounge chairs. Definitely recommend!!
- Juan (10/5): - Excellent property! Excellent view and staff was amazing! Shout out to Elena in food & beverage. We reported a miss understanding to her and immediately felt the love and willingness to rectify the situation! Would definitely go back! Also, the Spa was amazing!
- Juan (10/5): - GUAUUU IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOTEL IN IXTAPA THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD
AND THE TEAM ARE SO PROFESSIONAL
I RECOMMEND THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE
- maria oralia (8/5): - It's a nice resort. The food wasn't so great.
- Paola (2/5): - Had to pay for things that we did not even use and the payment was a ridiculous amount for the said things that we had done. Tried to explain to a manager and they said there was nothing they could do. I will never be staying here again. The food also was not the quality I expected for all the money I paid
- Herminia (6/5): - The ac never works within the common areas, it was super uncomfortable
- Juan (10/5): - Hospitality was amazing food was delicious also, amenities.
- Eduardo (8/5): - They need to have the shows inside the hotel instead of having them on the hotel nearby because it is a little inconvenience and hard some times because of the heat conditions
In general the staff is friendly and helpful except with some few people
- Jesus (8/5): - Beautiful
- Hristo Hrabrov (10/5): - Fantastic hotel. Probably the best we've ever been at. Highly recommend.
- Mark (8/5): - overall just what I expected and that was very good! This is the 4th time we spent time at the Azul Grand. We like having the upscale service and dining options that the Grand offers, while still having the access to pool, food, drinks, and beach of the regular Azul next door.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Excellent 4 night stay at Azul Grand. Service in every department was prompt, friendly, and met all our needs. The views and sunsets are amazing. Beautiful pools and spa. Make sure you reserve speciality restaurants early in your stay to take advantage of the choices. Very close to Isla Ixtapa ferry and Playa Linda. Only notes I have is the hotel should consider adding more furniture to the large balconies and reduce the amount of bright (almost blinding) white light in some areas and restaurants. Overall highly recommend this hotel.
- carey (6/5): Nice facility but lacks view dining/sitting areas - Room was lovely. Special dining was very good the reservation woman was unfriendly and unhelpful. We simply went to the restaurants, spoke with the Capitan and were seated. But the reservation office just said dining rooms were full but each night we went they were not at all full. Day dining was only at one buffet or the small snack area which we found very disappointing. No sit down restaurant was an option. Layout of public areas was poor because there were no ocean view areas for dining or tables and chairs for sitting outside near pools.
- Jacqueline (8/5): - Good value - had a great week. A couple of suggestions-provide “do not disturb” signs for the room (being woken up with a very insistent knock at the door is annoying) and make sure that clients know they have access to your sister hotel “Hotel Azul” (a nice feature).
- Sean (8/5): - Very good property however food quality was very poor
- Araceli (8/5): - The bar staff was amazing!!! Wet bar ask for Abel
- Christie (10/5): - Thank you! Beautiful stay. We felt that some of the staff could be a little more friendly.
- Jose (10/5): - Great place to spend a weekend
- Gabriela (10/5): - Staff members were very nice
- tracy (10/5): - This property is beautiful! 3 pools, sparkling clean! Food was the best I've had at an all inclusive resort! The activities were wonderful! Biking, kayaking, snorkeling, full gym with classes. I loved this resort!
- ARIANNE (10/5): - 👍
- Clint (10/5): - The room had a very nice layout with a Jacuzzi tub in the center. The beaches were beautiful and clean and the infinity pool was fabulous. Our maid Vero was very pleasant and always made nice towel animals for our daughter. I would recommend this property to anyone and we may stay here again.
- Douglas (10/5): - Our family, consisting of my husband, our 17-year-old daughter, and myself, spent our spring break at the Grand Azul Resort from March 9th, and it was an unforgettable experience! Even though the resort was fully booked and busy, it never felt overcrowded or hectic. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like returning guests, with the staff going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The resort itself was incredibly comfortable and offered plenty of activities for us to enjoy. The amenities were top-notch, from the beautiful pools to the delicious dining options. We were so content with everything the resort had to offer that we only left the Azul properties once to explore downtown Ixtapa and Zihua.
It’s rare to find a place that feels so relaxing yet full of life at the same time, and Grand Azul Resort provided the perfect balance. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly destination with fantastic service.
- Troy (6/5): - Al a carte restaurants had poor food quality and limited restaurant selections. Resort itself is very well maintained. Too many children and noisy.
- Abelardo (10/5): - Everything was very nice
- Chris (8/5): - The property is aging but was clean. It was an inconvenience that they did not exchange USD to peso, only CAD.
The buffet was standard and nothing special, but the specialty restaurants were excellent.
Pools were very nice.
- Lance (10/5): - From the moment we arrived we felt welcome! Gethsemane helped us with our luggage and after we checked in, he took us up and gave us a tour of our room, how to use the AC / Sauna / Jacuzzi Tub / other services. The mini bar was stocked with Tecate, water and sodas. Isabel maintained our room and left us little surprise towel critters on our bed and on the bathtub. She was super friendly and responsive. The view off our balcony was impressive and such a great way to relax, whether eating breakfast with room service or just drinking and relaxing in the evening. The Buffet was okay, but had a lot of options, I understand they have a large and varied palet to cater to. The 3 restaurants we tried as part of our week long stay, where amazing. Marion was our server and she was detailed and kept our drinks filled. We didn't do many of the activities on site, but enjoyed the pool and pool side bar service. Short walking distance on a really cool boardwalk over to the pier to go to Ixtapa island.
- Lynn (8/5): - This was my second time at AZUL. The buffet food is excellent. The a la carte could improve their menu. I would recommend this resort to families due to the selection of swimming pools. Adults, kids, and the general pool are all fantastic.
- Chad (10/5): - Food was fantastic. Beach at and around the resort. Two different hotels to go between.. great musical shows and pools.
- Robert (10/5): - Everyone was great! They were friendly and attentive. The facility was very nice and well kept up. The food was very good at all sources.
- BEVERLEY (6/5): - The games room continually had kids there AFTER 9PM. The Aqua fit always started late or finished early. Never 30 minutes
- Juan (10/5): - The need of currency exchange
Only reason I didn’t give an excellent on cleanliness
Is during our 7 night stay didn’t get a sheets change
- BEVERLEY (6/5): - I disliked the kids in the game room after 9pm. I did not like that there often was no lifeguard in the adult pool to get rid of the kids in the all adult pol
- frank (10/5): - all
- Jaime Micha (8/5): - Not an adult resort as mentioned, lots of kids, lots of noise in rooms, hallways and everywhere
- Liliana (10/5): - Loved everything
- Carlo (2/5): - I will never visit that place. Was charged extra for waiting at lobby for my flight
- Jessica (8/5): - I think this property is lovely. The staff are super attentive and friendly, the food was excellent, the views from the room are unmatched, and it felt so safe. I would have given it 5 stars, except they didnt have a lot of different show options, the pools closed really early and there wasnt a lot to do in the evening. The hotel is pretty far from town so if want to do anything at night you have to leave the hotel. Otherwise it was amazing!
- Jacqueline Lynn (10/5): - Excellent place!! Clean, friendly, great food-everything you need for a fantastic holiday! Would definitely go back!
- Cindy Lou (8/5): - The staff was wonderful. Rooms were very nice. Quite far from anything. Need to take bus or taxi. Beach was not walkable. Very rocky. Two kinds of beer. A light (takate) and a dark beer(not sure name) no smoking anywhere on grounds or beach. Need to walk to street out front of hotel on street. Not much of a nightlife as only one lobby bar after 4pm. Pool bar closes at 6pm. One musical show at night at sister resort at 8:30pm. Dogs are welcome. Always keep your pool towel receipts each day. Tried to charge us 50 Us
