Dale (10/5): Grand Resort with options for everyone!! - Really impressive resort. We visited in mid sept which is the slow season and it was great. The resort has a lot for its guests to enjoy. Nice large rooms all with ocean views. There are three pools, two outside bars, inside bar and club. Most the time we had the entire adult pool to ourselves. You have access to the resort next door, it was nice to stop for a drink when walking on the beach. There is a cafeteria style restaurant and the food was really good. They changed it up everyday which was nice. Traditional local dishes, and lots of other options like salad bars, sandwich bars, breakfast bars and pastry bars. Great Cafe onsite with fresh ground drinks. One day they did a seafood "feast", lots of options and they were cooking whole seasoned fish. The resort also has three very nice, reservation only restaurants. The Asian restaurant was great. Fresh seafood and creative dishes to give guests lots of variety. The resort has a list of daily activities for guests to sign-up for. Employees that host the activities work hard to make them fun and enjoyable. We had Natalia on several adventures and she was great, full of energy and very positive. Be sure to sign-up for the bike ride, they take through an Eco park in the jungle on a great flat path. For a change, we walked down the beach and caught the water taxi to Ixtapa Island and had the back side of the island to ourselves all day. Great food and snorkeling while relaxing all day in lounge chairs. Definitely recommend!!

Make sure you reserve speciality restaurants early in your stay to take advantage of the choices. Very close to Isla Ixtapa ferry and Playa Linda. Only notes I have is the hotel should consider adding more furniture to the large balconies and reduce the amount of bright (almost blinding) white light in some areas and restaurants. Overall highly recommend this hotel.
carey (6/5): Nice facility but lacks view dining/sitting areas - Room was lovely. Special dining was very good the reservation woman was unfriendly and unhelpful. We simply went to the restaurants, spoke with the Capitan and were seated. But the reservation office just said dining rooms were full but each night we went they were not at all full. Day dining was only at one buffet or the small snack area which we found very disappointing. No sit down restaurant was an option. Layout of public areas was poor because there were no ocean view areas for dining or tables and chairs for sitting outside near pools.

Douglas (10/5): - Our family, consisting of my husband, our 17-year-old daughter, and myself, spent our spring break at the Grand Azul Resort from March 9th, and it was an unforgettable experience! Even though the resort was fully booked and busy, it never felt overcrowded or hectic. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like returning guests, with the staff going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The resort itself was incredibly comfortable and offered plenty of activities for us to enjoy. The amenities were top-notch, from the beautiful pools to the delicious dining options. We were so content with everything the resort had to offer that we only left the Azul properties once to explore downtown Ixtapa and Zihua. It’s rare to find a place that feels so relaxing yet full of life at the same time, and Grand Azul Resort provided the perfect balance. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly destination with fantastic service.

Gethsemane helped us with our luggage and after we checked in, he took us up and gave us a tour of our room, how to use the AC / Sauna / Jacuzzi Tub / other services. The mini bar was stocked with Tecate, water and sodas. Isabel maintained our room and left us little surprise towel critters on our bed and on the bathtub. She was super friendly and responsive. The view off our balcony was impressive and such a great way to relax, whether eating breakfast with room service or just drinking and relaxing in the evening. The Buffet was okay, but had a lot of options, I understand they have a large and varied palet to cater to. The 3 restaurants we tried as part of our week long stay, where amazing. Marion was our server and she was detailed and kept our drinks filled. We didn't do many of the activities on site, but enjoyed the pool and pool side bar service. Short walking distance on a really cool boardwalk over to the pier to go to Ixtapa island.

The hotel is pretty far from town so if want to do anything at night you have to leave the hotel. Otherwise it was amazing!

Pool bar closes at 6pm. One musical show at night at sister resort at 8:30pm. Dogs are welcome. Always keep your pool towel receipts each day. Tried to charge us 50 Us s at checkout. But i had all receipts. Food is very good and specialty restaurants very good. Really liked shrimp kabobs at bbq/steakhouse but they don't tell you they have them. Just ask! Great stay but very very hot and humid and far from everything.

The only other issue we had was our in-room refrigerator did not work and was not repaired or replaced during our stay.

It is perfectly situated to enjoy Isla Ixtapa, Playa Linda, etc. When I booked, I saw that this was rated a 5-star hotel, I'd say it's solidly a 4-star hotel after our visit. The good: * amazing view from our room - we were on the 23rd floor right below the penthouse suites and the views were amazing. miss the gorgeous view and people watching. Initially, we were on a lower floor but I just asked if there was anything higher available - just ask nicely! * the food - generally solid food at the specialty restaurants - italian, bambu asian fusion, the steakhouse BBQ, the oysteria and I thought the buffet options (especially lunch) were solid * the service was generally great - we both speak a bit of Spanish and were able to converse with the team and they really appreciated the gesture and that maybe improved our services. special shout out to: Vale, Tatiana, Yair, Tono, Alejandro, Alberto, Cinthia and Beatriz The not so good: * limit to specialty restaurant reservations - this wasn't clear to us at check-in but even staying for 7 days, we were limited to only 3 official reservations during our stay. * limited restaurant availability - la cevicheria is only open certain days, this should be clearer chair reserving - this was insane to see. all that said, we had fun and would come back!

Luann Marie (8/5): - The property and staff are amazing. The buffet food was very good. I've been to other properties in Ixtapa and the food was by far superior compared to the others. The only downside and reason for a 4 star verses a 5 star is that the beach is small. We normally like to do a morning beach walk. This is not possible at this location. They do have a board walk along the ocean which is nice and you can walk the street side as there is a nice wide sidewalk. But beach walking is not possible. If beach walking is not top of your list, then do not hesitate to stay here. You will not regret it. We plan to be back. I just miss my beach walking.
Cathy A (10/5): - The Azul Grand is absolutely stunning, every room has and ocean view, the hotel is very minimalistic but not negatively, every aspect is meant to draw your attention to the outside and surrounding! The staff was friendly, kind and accommodating! Food on the other had was fair, the restaurants were hard to book and honestly the food was mediocre to say the least! The all inclusive food buffet was ok, lots of amazing fresh fruits which was nice, but the variety was only ok! The is a gorgeous board walk from the Azul Grand to the Azul, the oyster bar restaurant at the Azul was totally a 5 Star experience! I could have eaten there 5 nights in a row! The lack of drink variety was also poor! Very minimal in options but we made due! The pools were beautiful, I wish the gorgeous infinity pool was adults only so we could enjoy the view with out the kids screaming! The “adult” pool had no view but no kids screaming made it ok! Overall it was good!

Eric (8/5): - We stayed at the Azul Grand Hotel for 5 nights and 6 days Check in was straight forward, they did put us in a double bed instead of 1 king like I selected in Expedia, they informed there was no rooms available had to wait one day for us to switch rooms, they also tried to upsell us on premium wifi and the master suite, but the hotel had wifi ready for every inch of the hotel🤔 Room was clean and great only had one issue with the jacuzzi not working maintenance had to come in and repair the water pump, other then that room was great and the view was incredible, btw almost nothing included in the room just basic shampoo and soap, bring your own tooth paste, tooth brush etc. They did have a store downstairs that sold everything for a good price. Food was amazing, the buffet was tasty and had different options everyday we loved the 3 specialty restaurants food was very good. Drinks were kind of watered down not too sure how much alcohol they put in. Spa was nice and had decent prices, we did a masaje and facial for 160$ for two people. They had a sauna and an ice bath, which was a nice touch. Overall compared to other all inclusive resorts I been in (Cancun,Playa de carmen, Puerto Vallarta) Grand Azul was a good value for what you get everyone was so nice and friendly.
Thaylin Leanne (6/5): - This is the 4th time we have stayed here, with a large gap during Covid of course. Things seem to have changed from customer-focused, to money-grabbing practices towards repeat non-local guests. Dining staff at the buffet, restaurants and pools were great, however, with check-out procedures never once explained to us and certainly handled differently than our last stays at Azul Grand, we were forced to pay $1,400 pesos at 2PM even though we vacated our guest room at check out time of noon. We stayed in the cool of our friends room until it was time for a taxi to the airport at which time we were accused of staying late in our room. The resort is far from busy, and even though we did not even arrive to stay until a full 48 hours after we were due to check in, thanks to a failed Westjet Connection, the Supervisor on Duty Saturday Yazael literally demanded we pay this ridiculous late fee.

RON (8/5): - The rooms had unobstructed ocean view. Very clean and tidy rooms, super friendly staff. One thing we found annoying was that the elevators seem to take a long time to reach our floor. One of the activities at the resort is mountain biking, Vladimir our guide did a great job on the 13’s km ciclopista(bike trail) near the resort through the jungle. Strongly recommend it overall a great experience.

Celia Linda (10/5): - The services were great! Nice clean rooms with ocean view, safe walking trails, good food, at night there is a lounge bar with karaoke for 1 hr and then becomes a discotheque where you can dance to any kind of music you request. We had a great time.

Erin (10/5): - This was our 2nd year staying at Azul Grand for our annual girls trip to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed ourselves so much. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel is always clean and inviting. We love to stay here.
