Nice boutique hotel. Unfortunately, someone was smoking or vaping outside or near my room in the first night. I reported it the next day and the staff member took my concern very seriously. They had security patrol my floor the next night and there were no additional Al incidents. They offered me free late check out for my last day which was very nice.

• Darya (2/5): One of the most unpleasant experiences. Poor service, poor facilities. Poor cleanliness. Terrible value for that much mo - Nothing. I liked nothing. They did not do basic cleaning of the bathroom. Their bathroom/shower area had mold on walls. I am sorry - you can have old furniture, but you must clean the shower or wet area well!!! It's basic!! Also no lounge for working, the chair in the room was broken. Terrible for that price - does not worth that price per night. Dirty cups. Terrible pillows. Terrible experience.

• Fabio (9/5): Tourist friendly city - Wanchai 88 is 1 block away from the subway (MTR Island line) and in walking distance from a few ferry stations. That gives you easy access to the whole of HK, including the airport - via airport express trains. The neighborhood is a mix of restaurants, bars and local stores which attend the population. If you wish for a more touristic experience, maybe you should look for something on the other side of Victoria Bay. Wan Chai is a taste of the regular life in HK, though.
• Liam (2/5): Room was poor quality, not at all as advertised. - It was close to the train station. Front desk staff was friendly. The room didn’t look anything like what was advertised. The bed was very cheap, so were the covers. The room overall was extremely small and cramped. View is of a dirty neighboring building, not the clean city view as advertised. Very obviously not the same as the bedroom or view advertised in the photos on booking.com ~ for what I paid, this was a big disappointment and is likely to make me not book with booking.com again as it didn’t advertise the property honestly. Out of everywhere I stayed on my entire 3 week trip, this was the worst room for sure.

• Lorenzo (1/5): Never book in advance if you don’t know their conditions! - Location This hotel was the scene of the most absurd situation I’ve experienced in over 25 years of travel. I booked a room with a non-refundable rate. Right after booking, since my flight was departing late at night, I asked if a late check-out was possible. They just refused, stating that I must vacate the room by 11:00, no exceptions. When I asked if I could pay for a late check-out, they quoted an absurd 1000 HKD just to stay until 16:00, nearly the full price of a night’s stay (I had paid 1100 HKD). Charging the full nightly rate for just 5 extra hours is nothing short of a scam. Given how ridiculous that was, I immediately asked to cancel the booking. Unsurprisingly, they refused, hiding behind the non-refundable policy and leaving me completely trapped. The hotel showed zero flexibility, zero professionalism, they never explained why this policy, and clearly took advantage of the situation to squeeze more money from me. Judge yourself how ethical this behavior is. I’ve been traveling for 25 years and this has never happened to me before. My mistake was probably not asking in advance about late check-out conditions, but I truly never expected anything like this. Staff was also uninterested and not attentive or friendly.

• Tze Ken (6/5): Not bad actually - The location is great at Wan Zai, especially theres a Welcome Supermarket right opposite the road where you can get your needs easily. And also one of my favorite to go shop for breakfast in the morning is around the corner. McD is also across the street for supper if you need. The speed of the lift is acceptable for me. Staff were great and friendly. Easy access to Wan Zai MTR within walking distance. And its also easy access to hotel from HK Airport with bus A11. However if you need to take bus A11 to HK Airport will require a little walking as you'll need to cross a few main roads, about 12 mins walking distance from Hotel. Nothing much i didnt like aside from the weird desk that was coated with paint that made it "sticky". I do understand the hotel is trying to go for environment green energy where they exclude room slippers which is ok for me but not others as Ive read reviews about it and brough my own slippers instead. This is the first time ive seen such a mini kettle =D I still can hear some noise outside when others closes the door, but it doesnt affects me much at all. For some might be uncomfortable with the curtain maybe, as i think the glasses arent tinted, so those who are living opposite might see through. Otherwise, im ok... if the room floor is coated with carpet that'll be great, but thats just my preference =D

The room was well soundproofed and comfortable. Check in time was quick and easy on level3 with The concierge on the ground level. They were very helpful on Dupont today arranging a taxi for me The hotel lifts are a little bit slow, but everything worked as expected

• Trung (4/5): - The property felt old. Everything was great, walking distance and safe/quiet at night. I was staying at a different hotel a few days before checking into Wanchai88 so I knew about the laws on plastic recycling and items, basically the hotel doesnt give out any toiletry items (tooth brush, comb, tooth paste etc) anymore as well as water (because of the plastic bottle). However literally i was staying somewhere else 5 mins away and they have wooden comb/toothbrush and water in aluminum cans so i dont understand why Wanchai has to cut costs and skim customers out of a pleasant time? Last year my friend stayed at this hotel and was given free credits to get the water/toiletries in the vending machine on the first floor for FREE, now you have to pay out of your pocket just to stay at the hotel. First floor lobby personel (not reception on 3rd Floor) was not welcoming, yelled at you when you cant speak Cantonese as they struggled to communicate in English when all it takes was a simple glance at my phone screen as i am trying to ask for help in your language using a translator. Asked lobby guy to hold our suitcases for 1 hour after we checked out and told him I have a laptop so be careful and he felt upset and grumpy about it. Honestly im not even sure if this is just the type of quality and culture HK is upholding or its specifically with this hotel only because even a street food lady at 4 am who did not understand a basic question in English smiled and talked to me.

• Tik (4/5): Will not stay here again. - Great location. Close to shops and restaurants, literally 2 mins walk to MTR station. First room had really bad smoke smell in the room. Could not sleep first night due to smoke smell bad to change room. One lift didn’t work during our stay, every lift ride was 20mins waiting time.
