Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The breakfast was very poor. The owner gave us one egg per person per night and some bread and cheese for self service. After 2 nights when it was over she was fighting back with a bad attitude, unacceptable if you are paying almost 200usd a might. The owner had the same attitude towards everything, the first night there was no internet, instead of trying to solve it the owner was questioning why we would need internet anyway.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Unique place - Great and unique place. No real complaints other than that the bigger bed on our bungalow had a very hard mattress. Rock hard. I guess that’s a matter of personal preference but my back is still feeling it. Other than that great place and great host.
- Marc (10/5): Lovely place - It’s pretty, the woman who attends the property is excellent. Wifi in the unit is dodgy as is the case in almost all of Chile ( travelled three weeks in Chile and phone services and wifi are worst in South America) so you have to go outside near the property managers home to get any kind of phone signal. Roads are rough to get to the property. Very nice friendly dogs.
- Kent (6/5): Excellent Location - These bungalows are far enough from San Pedro to avoid the dust, noise and congestion. One should have your own transportation if staying here. Whether it be bike or car.
I'm not a big fan of lodging that has dogs. I do not care to lounge with them. There also was barking at night from neighbors dogs. I get that at home, not wanted on vacation. Although this is not the proprietor's fault, it is for the renter's information that I write this. Maybe you won't mind the dogs.
- Andrea (10/5): A small paradies - We were 3 nights in the bungalow and it was amazing. It is really a paradies. It it 5 km away from the city San Pedro but in the bungalow you have everything what you need to prepare your own Dinner or Barbeque. The beds were fantastic and we slept like in heaven. The owner family is very kind and helps you what ever you want. It is clean and so peaceful.. With one word: it is wonderful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent stay. Great breakfast provisions. Charming little bungalow and friendly English speaking owners.
- Fernando (10/5): San Pedro de Atacama - Short but excellent stay. Owners are very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Very remote - In the middle of nowhere.
- Miroslav (10/5): Very nice ranch near San Pedro de Atacama! - Very friendly staff, english speaking and design accomodation
- Florentina (8/5): Rancho Q - After the initial disconfort upon our arrival when we discovered that our reservation was cancelled, the experience was pleasant. We had to call hotels.com to understend what happened. After 20 min on the long distance phone, apparently the reservation was still on, however the Rancho did not have it in the system.
We had to book the room with the understending the the hotels.com will refund our money. This is left to be seen.
The Rancho is half an hour walking from the town and it looks like a small resort. The services are good overall.
- Fred (6/5): Charming place and quiet but need to be motorized - The "cabanas" are correct but breakfast is awful (nescafe, dry bread).
The place is full of charme and close enough to downtown San Pedro to not feel isolated (around 30 minutes by walk). The staff is helpful. We were allowed to use the washing machine.
- Steve (10/5): Very nice place, A++ Recommended - I stayed there for 3 nights. One of the nicest place I stayed at. Very helpful host, clean, spacious rooms. Own living room/kitchen. Clean bathroom. Recommended!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet and peaceful - We stayed in a double room with private bathroom which is attached to the main residence. There are also freestanding cabins with kitchenette available.
Our room was clean and tidy and had nice hot solar-powered showers.
Jorge is a very welcoming and helpful host who also does guided tours around the area.
The location is in the desert about 10 minutes drive from San Pedro. Ideally you would have a car; we got around with taxis (4,000 one way) and Jorge drove us (3,000 one way). The area is very quiet and safe and is a great spot for star gazing at night.
Jorge let us prepare our breakfast in one of the cabins. These are really well equipped and are great for a small family.
There is no wifi Internet but Jorge let us use his computer. He is currently setting up a computer for guests to use.
We would love to come back to explore the area in more detail and we will stay here next time.
