Whilst it appears to have good reviews on which I based my decision to book this accommodation I was dissapointed to learn that a) the Free Parking was a short distance away, b) we did not sleep well as we heard activity from a suspected mouse/rat behind the wall cavity (Room2) where an opening within the skirting board cavity had remenants of the complimentary milk containers and c) having chosen a breakfast table that was set up for breakfast there was still remenants of food from previous diners on the floor. I brought the matter of point (b) to the attention of a member of staff on our departure who said he would look into the complaint so it will be interesting to learn if any other reviews mention this.

The bedroom was large and with a double bed and a single bed, there was plenty of space between as I was staying with a friend. The room was clean and well presented. There was plenty of tea, coffee, some biscuits, There were cereals, juice and a good quality cooked breakfast, with nice coffee. The owner stored a bags both when we arrived and on the day of our departure. Very good value for money. There's a large Asda across the road too. Nothing to do with the lodgings but the walk from the main area is next to a very busy road with lots of car fumes and the boarded up pub next door has undesirables hanging around though they didn't bother us.

• Liz (1/5): I didn't feel safe so I didn't stay. - The frontage is tatty and not welcoming. There was no one to check me in even though I arrived before the stated time of 9pm. Someone who I assume was another guest let me in and gave me a key. The room was the only one right at the top of the house, up a steep staircase. There was no lock on the door so I could not lock it from the inside. There was no information about the breakfast. I felt very unsafe because I was in a room on my own at the top of a flight of stairs. Anyone could have come into my room over night. If there had been a fire, there was no way of exiting. I left the property straight away and went to another hotel. I emailed the property to ask for a refund under the circumstances but have received no reply.
• John (10/5): a very good experience. - breakfast outstanding as there was a lot of choice, the hosts ishwar&sabita were really very helpful although sabita was not to well when we were there, location very good ten minute walk to bus&train station. comfort accomodation and just straight across from small retail park, ishwar was very helpful and we said we are going to go back in a couple of months. the best B&B we have stayed at. nothing to complain about excellent stay.

Das Hotel ist zu den anderen Zimmern und nach draußen hin sehr hellhörig. Die Dusche hatte leider keinen richtigen Wasserstrahl, mehr getropfe. Im Bad ist leider auch Schimmel.

The breakfast was high quality and the team were very friendly. If you looking for a budget hotel with a great breakfast this is the place. The only real pain is that the parking is up the road and it is not secure

Ishwar was incredibly responsive and kind - he let me check in a little early, which was great as I was pretty exhausted from travelling. Ishwar was super helpful in general - in the morning when I had mistakenly booked an uber, not knowing it was not in the area, he called a taxi for me. He was also super responsive when I emailed having forgotten my wallet in the room. Most notably, he greeted me by name each time he saw me, maybe this is the norm here in the UK, but it was a treat for me coming from elsewhere! There was also a great and filling breakfast! I really enjoyed my stay here and appreciated the effort that Ishwar made and the kindness I was met with. N/A - my stay was fantastic!

Choice of cereals and all cooked really well by attentive and cheerful host Liked the milk and tea in the room, more then normal so you didn't run out! Very quiet too TV didn't work but I didn't tell them it wasn't working. If I had I am sure they would have fixed it The mattress was the worst bit. It sloped on one side so you constantly felt as if you were about to roll off. Need a new one

The price was very reasonable and the whole package exceeded our expectations. There was dedicated parking. There is a bus stop right outside the property which we used to avoid parking in town, although we walked back from town in the evening. Plenty of restuarants towrds the town. Thre is a shopping complex with a supermarket accross the road from the property which was handy. Nothing to dislike about this property.

Very good breakfast included in a very good price. The room was very clean, well presented and with excellent extras provisions. Able to leave luggage to collect later in day. Honestly nothing though the shower could do with a bit more umph (we were in the top room) but was plenty hot enough so not a complaint.

• Pamela (9/5): - Comfortable bedroom with ensuite bathroom...carpeted and warm...little extras in shower also supermarket and shops just across road and close to eating places...private carpark helpful...Ishwar was perfect host always helpful...and available..also breakfast served quickly and very good ..piping hot .and train station just a walk away.. Everything great ..

• Carol (10/5): If we are needing somewhere to stay in Carlisle we'll be back,thank you for your hospitality. - The owner was lovely,the house was warm,everything was clean,the shower was easy to use,towels were lovely and thick,wi-fi was good,beds were very comfortable,had a quiet nights sleep,there were facilities to make hot drinks in the room,breakfast was exceptional with lots on the menu from cereal to a full English. No parking on site

• Tessa (10/5): - Amazing breakfast! Amazing bed! Amazing host! Very kind man!! Stayed here one time before but decided to book again. Amazing! Close to city center. Walking distance from shopping! Bus close by and private parking! Loved it! Shower pressure is a little low and the road is possibly a little loud for light sleepers :)
• Helen (10/5): fantastic property, clean, warm, exceptional host very friendly and helpful comfy bed and excellent breakfast great valu - central to our needs, looked small from outside but very big rooms inside, warm and inviting. surprisingly quiet considering the pub nxt door and busy main road outside. clean outside to sit with a coffee clean and fresh inside the property smells lovely especially in the morning when you wake up to breakfast being cooked. everything cannot fault anything on our stay

• Ludo (9/5): Value for money....! - Alles prima. Je moet even weten dat je een hoge schakelaar buiten de badkamer op ‘aan’ moet zetten om warm water in de douche te krijgen. We moesten eerst nogal zoeken 🤪.
