• Stephen (4/5): - Unfortunately, our room was not up to a bare minimum standard. Although they came to rectify the issue within 10 minutes, it was very disappointing. We lived with the other dirty components. Probably the worst that I’ve actually stayed in. I have only left one other hotel before, but if we were staying a second night, we would not have stayed in this one.
• Ryan (4/5): - Room/Suite was very spacious. Kitchen area, hot water electric kettle had water in it with slime and deposits floating around. Crumbs under items on the counter. Things were cleaned around and not moved. Unit felt dirty. Couch arm was all worn away like an animal was scratching at it for years. Large rolms with little in them so everything echoed..lol. Priced high for what it was, but felt lucky to actually find lodging. Paint missing off doors from abuse from guests im guessing. Very little outside noise. Good location. Bathroom shower was new and nice. Nicest spot in the entire suite. Front desk gentlemen was pleasant and helpful.

I never spoke to anybody as we were late checking in so the key was in the mailbox and when to check out noone was in the office so just drop the key back in the mailbox. The outside of the building could really use a good clean up and paint job.The towels were small and rough. For the price it was ridiclouse for what was offered and the appreatance of the building,

When i got to the room i was suprised at just how large it was! There werw two good sized bedrooms a large living/dining area as well as a decent sized kitchen. The only complaint i have is the cleanliness of the rooms. They were grimy. Clearly hadnt been swept or dusted in quite some time. Found an old stale tokmy wrapper with a half eaten bagel in the cupboard. Would I stay again, yes! The price is right but next time I will let them know sooner if the room isnt clean

• Verified traveler (8/5): good value for money - room was big and roomy so it echoes when you talk. it was nice to have the space to move about/stretch. mattress was ok but i prefer firmer ones. pillows are soft so had to bend them as i prefer firmer pillows. the impt basic things are good, clean bed sheets, towels, ample hot water, good working a/c. if all you need is a space to rest at night after a day out of adventures, this hotel checks it all for me. microwave, little refrigerator and coffee machine are part of the room amenities. having a roku capable tv for entertainment was definitely a plus as opposed with being stuck with cable tv. hardwood floors was a nice touch opposed to carpet flooring. a little TLC in other aspects the hotel/room could certainly make this place better we would certainly still stay here again if we are in the area again.

• D Craig (4/5): - I stayed here 3-4 times a year for at least 15 years, I haven’t stayed here in the last 6-8 years. It has changed hands. The original owners were so clean you could eat off of the parking lot. The current owners have stripped all the amenities from the rooms, beds were lumpy. The room we were in was only accessible along with an elevated wood walkway and railings to get to your rooms 12’ off the ground. It appears to be collapsing towards the parking lot and there are soft spots underneath the outdoor carpet which covers the wood walkway this is nota hood sign.

• Joyyy (6/5): Average Motel in Downtown Huntsville - It's an average cheaper motel with a bed and a room which is fine just for sleeping. The toilet/shower are in 1 room and the sink/fridge/microwave in another. Property needs real sprucing up and a real good cleaning in the room and updating. Right close to downtown for eating and several stores and establishments to eat and shop. Hosts long-term residents along with travellers but quiet motel. Air conditioning.

It's a room with beds and pet friendly. Toilet/shower in 1 room and sink and fridge/microwave in another room. Freezer needed to be thawed to use but didn't need. Hosts temporary residents along with travellers and is very quiet motel on premises and area. Could use a little extra in room cleaning and tidy up but only there to sleep. All good.
• Steven (6/5): - Check-in was easy. I arrived at the property late and the key was waiting for me in the mailbox outside. The room was similar to other properties of a similar rating near by, but the floor in this case was very dirty. The floor didn't look dirty, but whenever I walked on it, I would have to wipe my feet off before getting into bed. It could have used a sweeping to make it much cleaner feeling.

Could use some art on the walls, but that's really the only negative. Super close to the McDonald's, which makes it great for an easy brekkie in the morning. For the price, I cannot complain and I would stay again.

The only thing I would change is that they only give you two pillows (for two people) and they’re super soft so they don’t provide much support (having two would have been perfect). I didn’t want to bug the owners for another set of pillows, so this isn’t a complaint just a suggestion! Great stay, close to everything we wanted to do on our trip.

The picture that is shown on expedia is very lovely, but in actuality, it is very run down, and basically an eye sore. The water stinks, and the stench from the drain in the bathroom sink is nasty! The toilet needs to be replaced with a high boy toilet. The current one is way too low for most people. The office should be far more accessible to SAFELY get to than it is. This place could be quite lovely if it was fixed up and freshly painted. It certainly needs some TLC.

Also, the walkway directly outside the rooms would need to be updated as it was old and dingy. The AC worked well but was pretty loud. The hotel is also right off the main road so you could hear traffic noise as well as people talking and coughing etc. The hotel is conveniently located to downtown Huntsville.
• mernao422 (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - We stay at this motel every time we go to Huntsville . which is 3 or 4 times a year We were there for a week this time . the service was wonderful. the owner checked each day to see if we needed anything would stop to chat anytime we were outside.. He put a table and extra chairs in our room so we could sit and have breakfast and guests. the room was clean and fresh. They were so good to our little dog . could not ask for a better stay. We have stayed in other motels in Huntsville but now will always stay here at the Rainbow. Thank you Daryl

• tanyamC2653ZV (2/5): Garbage - 230 dollars and one roll of TP. It's under new ownership and they dont honour the cost online. One bar of soap, huge waste of money and stay somewhere else. The Muskoka plastic chair outside broke so I am completely bruised and they would not even give me a discount. Yes the bathroom sucks too, and good luck if anyone is in the office. I want my money back for sure But protect yourself go somewhere that is clean and stay safe
• MVSPtbo (6/5): Motel getting some TLC and needed upgrades but still a work in progress. - Motel appears to be in the midst of a transformation. Upgrades and improvements include new windows (great for soundproofing the road), new floors and a new sink area. While the layout of the room was peculiar (I’m always confused when the bathroom sink is in a different area than the bathroom but in this case it also serves as the kitchen sink so guess that makes more sense than having a coffee maker in the bathroom…) it is quite spacious and painted in a light colour scheme to aid in the sense of space. Some minor housekeeping elements missing (no coffee cups, water and only one chair for sitting inside, no place for snowy boots and stuff to dry out) I imagine these small things will get improved upon over time. Snow management outside the rooms Could also use some TLC but appears there had been carpet once on the landing so likely need that fully removed to be able to shovel properly. The price was appropriate and the location perfect for a walk downtown or ventures to the natural attractions upraise of town.
• PhyllisS315 (2/5): Terrible accommodation for the Cost - The website gave no indication of the disgusting condition inside the rooms. There were holes in the ceiling of both bedrooms where a light fixture had been changed many years prior to our visit. The cloth chairs were so filthy and stained that it was evident decades of patrons had slopped on them. The carpet was filthy. The walls have paint patches falling off. The heating vents are rusty and filthy. The outside cables have not been painted for many years. The stair railing to the second floor are rusty. Foam mattress squeaky and pillows flat. Cost way too high.
• Dream14242486120 (2/5): Horrible service. Horrible room. - We just arrived. The office was closed and locked. No one answered the buzzer, but someone yelled from half a block away, “I’ll be right there.” It took ten minutes. Although my wife and I both wore masks, the clerk did not wear any mask. The room was dark and a little bit musty and it was not the room we booked. We had booked a queen special room. This had two twin beds and was a standard room. The clerk said we could have the upgraded room, but it probably cost us an extra $40 or more and it wouldn’t be any brighter. We asked for a refund but we’re told there was no refund policy. Oops. Obviously we would not recommend this room to anyone. We have moved on.
• Banksy87 (4/5): Meh - We we’re coming to Algonquin for the weekend and arriving later on the Friday we decided to stay in Huntsville for the night. Upon arrival the guy who checked us in was lovely… Very nice And very pleasant to deal with. We were given the keys to a room I believe it was 130 it was underneath the stairs and there was rooms above us. As soon as we entered we knew we were in for a night as the people above us seem to of been doing Zumba till almost 4:30 in the morning. The beds were uncomfortable the bedsheets had stains and the one headboard in our room had pop or coffee on it and it was all sticky. The vents throughout the room were rusty and had crumbs of food on them, the bathroom had hair and dirt on the floor but truthfully I didnt shower - I didn’t even look in the shower. They provided complementary bottles of water And your typical hand soap shampoos towels. Considering there’s cheaper options in the area… I feel like I could’ve stayed somewhere else for the same price or less and had a much better experience.
• jpalmer-ayr (10/5): Wonderful 4-nights stay at Rainbow Inn in Huntseville - Super-quiet, very cozy. Small gas fireplace was great for relaxing after a day or skiing, ice skating, and snowshoeing. Small kitchenette allowed us to cook our own meals when we wanted to. Great location, too. This was our 2nd time to stay there and we will continue to go back when in the Huntsville area.
• 228lyndam (2/5): Was not even able to make it there for my reservation. - I booked Sept.3,2019 to be near my Mother in Hospice Huntsville & am in Alberta. I made arrangements to fly with my handicapped husband to be with my Mom but she passed away Sept.5/19 so I called & cancelled due to circumstances would not be able to go to Huntsville as planned. I was advised due to the death of my Mother my reservation would be cancelled but instead I was billed $687.43 & have called them every week requesting a return courtesy call for at least a partial refund but no one has ever had the courtesy to call me back or refund me any of this charge!
• Melanie594 (2/5): Stay FAR away!! BED BUGS - Terrible and very uncomfortable experience, we got bit by bed bugs! Now after reading other travellers comments I see this is a common occurrence. The staff would not give us a refund and were very insensitive. Very disappointing.

• Fearless765155 (2/5): Stay away from this place!!! - My wife got bit by bed bugs in room 121. There are so many of bed bugs, you can see them crawling over the bed. This is a terrible experience that nobody deserves. It really ruined our holiday. Stay away from this place!!!
• womanseyeview (4/5): Seedy - Right from the start I regretted that everywhere else was full. The overflowing dumpster with enthusiastic flies stationed beside the stairs to our room was an instant turnoff. Then the weeks worth of cigarette butts in the bucket outside each room complimented it nicely. The tacky carpet inside the room ensured my shoes stayed on throughout our stay. The toilet continued to run unless you rattled the handle and the shower curtains should have been replaced a couple of years ago. The only reason I didn’t rate this as poor is that aside from the carpet and other things that needed to be replaced, the housekeeping staff had clearly done their best with the sad state of the room. If I had paid a low price I could say ‘you get what you pay for’ - but not in this case! Thankfully it was only for one night.
• robbB3098OG (2/5): Run!!! - Book somewhere else! I booked a room and cancelled it 9 hours late as my child fell ill and we could not make it. The Manager of the hotel would not refund any of the cost. It cost me$250 for absolutely nothing. Owner is greedy as hell...... Don't give him your business and please go elsewhere. Hidden Valley resort is 10 minutes from Huntsville, it's a little worn out but there is a beach and you get to use everything for free....
• thebittersweet_s (4/5): Cheap, outdated, unkept, and rude customer service - I've been to many accommodations in Huntsville and this is the worst one - from service to stay. We visited Rainbow Inn during the Civic long weekend (Ontario). When I booked the room over the phone I specifically asked for a room with two queen beds. The woman (the owner of the inn) told me that she had a room available that had beds of this size and so I booked it at a non-refundable rate of $270+tax for one night (an obscene rate for this property - but the beds I was promised matched what I was looking for). When I arrived, I was frustrated to discover that the room had two standard double beds - and when I went to talk to the owner/receptionist about it, she simply told me that none of her rooms have queen beds and that the "woman" I spoke with on the phone (which was actually her) told me the wrong information. She also proceeded to tell me that I booked a non-refundable rate and have already signed for it, so basically, to take it or leave it. She was extremely rude and does not know customer service. In terms of the accommodation, the pictures speak for themselves. The room was filthy, covered in what looked like mildew on the windows, and dust for days in the bathroom - all major health hazards. The AC was inconveniently located at the back of the room and was not powerful enough to cool down the bedroom (it was very hot to sleep at night). When we arrived the AC was turned off so it took a very long time to cool down the room. The pillows were super thin, and my bed had two black hair strands in it. Also, the bedroom windows had no screens so you couldn't open them. Finally, the only added bonus for the $320 price for one night were two "complimentary" water bottles. If you're in Huntsville, the only positive about Rainbow Inn is that it's in the core downtown. Surprisingly, it was also fairly quiet to sleep despite the inn's location right on the main road. Otherwise, I would never return and would not recommend for anyone else. For the price the inn charges, they can use the money wiser to hire better cleaning staff and put in some effort to make very, very necessary renovations.
• Just_Char300 (8/5): Comfy and cozy! - While travelling alone, I grabbed a room for one night, first time staying in Huntsville and at Rainbow Inn. I was quite pleased overall. Very reasonable price! My room had a queen bed, a futon and 2 chairs with a table to eat at. The mattress was comfy, the room was spotless, my room had a fire place (perfect on a cold, wet day!) There was a fridge to keep my drinks cold... which 2 bottles of water and 2 cans of pop was complimentary! There was also a microwave... everything one needs for a nights stay! There was a staff member named Matt, that was extremely helpful, very friendly, great customer service! I was travelling alone and felt completely safe staying at Rainbow Inn!
• 269karinh (8/5): Diamond in the Rough - Large room. Beds were pretty comfortable it was clean. No funky smells. The Customer service was excellent. We were only here for one night. All my special requests were met and they were happy to do it with a smile. If your looking for a cheaper option this hotel is great. Its nothing special or over the top by any means but it was good experience on the whole.
• muesik (2/5): Heads Down No Nonsense Get Out Quickly - Let's just say the room was functional and served it's purpose, but it was not the cleanest! For the hunting, shooting, fishing brigade it's probably fine for vacations a little less so. The oddities were a shower/toilet room that had no sink, you literally had to walk through to the kitchen using 2 doors before you could wash your hands. A hand written envelope with the word 'tips' written scruffily on it and an extractor fan which had it's cover loose and was making a very dubious noise.
• KenandLia (2/5): Well past it's best-buy date - Clean but rusty on virtually all metal surfaces - even the radiators and once-chrome Kleenex box. Had to fiddle with the cable to get TV to work, lots of hour water but sink in separate room from toilet and shower. This used to be a nice, economical motel - now it's just economical. The air conditioning unit was broken and the fan was COVERED with dirt. A well-wrinkled/recycled note/dirty note from the chambermaid pleading for a tip was rather gauche. The chap on check-in was pleasant enough bit had a hard time finding our reservation. He won't have to look again. We won't be back.
• SchumacherJack (8/5): Sort of Clean - For an overnighter, it's not too bad. However someone should empty the outside ashtrays more than once a month. They were all full and smelled really, really bad. The beds were clean, the WiFi slow and the front desk guy had to come up to reprogram the TV remote. We did sleep well.
