Guest Reviews
- John (2/5): - Room smelled. Everything is old and outdated. Holes in screens. Windows open when we arrived to air it out.
- Janna (6/5): Oldie that is trying - Nostalgia is why I booked here. The new owners are thankfully trying. They allowed me to switch rooms after first being put in room that smelled like smoke. They also were kind when I shut my keys in the car. I had to request towels for the new room and plug in the fridge. The air wouldn't stay as constant warm fan, so the cycle sound effected my sleep. I love being able to park right up to the room. I love the old time look and feel, but some updates to feel like the bedding is clean is needed and some updates for electricity to feel safer.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Easily accessible
- Bonnie (8/5): - Love the price. It is an old motel. I've stayed in 3 different rooms.the first 2 queen bed and 2 single beds. Bathroom tub and shower. Second room one queen bed small bathroom just right for one. The last one two twin beds All the linens and rooms were large. Beds comfortable. A/C god. TV . Microwave and fridge. Very eclectic
- Joyce (8/5): Cheap and better than expected - Great, nice bathrooms.
- Frederick (6/5): - The folks at check in are very nice and get you any supplies needed when asked. The room was clean. I’ve stayed here a few times and would really like them to invest in some decent towels and bed linens. It would make a world of difference. I love the 1960’s bathrooms. Don’t change a thing there.
- Frank (2/5): Don’t go here!!! - I made the reservation at 1130, then got to the property window at 11:45, As I am waiting I see two roaches and wonder if this is the place to stay? Then the clerk finally comes to the window at 12:04 and says he can’t find my reservation. He said I lost it because I didn’t check in by midnight. He refused even to offer a new room, threw my Drivers License at me through the window, then slammed the window down, and told me to leave.
- Kaleob (8/5): Clean, large, and dated. - Rooms are dated but fairly large. Extra large bathrooms / shower / tub. Room was clean.
- Jeff (6/5): Okay lace to sleep. - The motel is old and worn. It’s clean and the internet works fine, but the sink had major rust on it and much of the wood items were very worn. It’s an okay place to sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): It's a place to sleep on the cheap. - Stayed overnight on a buisness trip. Checked in late and left pretty early. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was OK. Carpet needs to be replaced. This is an old motel but it isn't in terrible condition. A place to stay is what it is.
- kevin (10/5): Nevada - It was clean and comfortable with great beds and pillows.
- kevin (10/5): Nevada Inn - Very large clean room with great shower and tub, the bathroom is huge. Also in a great location close to everything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was great and clean i would recommend this place
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cold but spacious - Room was large. Beds were very soft. Bathroom was freezing. No heat source in bathroom.
- Pete (6/5): - This is an older hotel that is very clean and affordable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Older well kept hotel...simple - We arrived at the Nevada Inn and once the clerk figured out how to get our reservation we were checked in. The hotel was busy, but we were able to get a non smoking room with 2 queen sized bed. The room was VERY spacious......plenty of room around the beds and still more room. The bathroom was dated but functional...fully tiled in 2 separate rooms. The carpet in the main area was an indoor/outdoor variety, but everything was kept clean and in working order. It is not a fancy hotel, but an older one with lots of character that I would gladly stay in any town I should visit.
- Kelly (10/5): LOVED my stay! - I LOVED my stay at the Nevada Inn. Yes, the place is dated, but that's what I loved about it! HUGE bathroom. Beds were super comfy. I was traveling on my own and felt safe staying there. Would stay there again!
- Toyia (8/5): Good value for the money - Good value for the money. Clean room, huge bathroom with separate tub and shower. Decor is a bit dated.
- ashley (6/5): Nice but rude staff - The hotel was very clean and very big but the hotel staff was a bit rude, even though I was only showing respect.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good for a cheap motel - No breakfast, rooms are ok. Comfortable new beds. Clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Basic affordable option - I chose this hotel because of the rating and the low price. For what I paid, it was well worth it. There wasn't coffee in the room (it was in the lobby/office from 7-10 AM, I believe), but I would stay here again for the price.
- Gerasim (8/5): Clean, Low Price, Friendly... - Second stay here this month! Nice area to stay, close to uptown, food within walking distance. Mainly, it's low priced, large rooms, LARGE bathroom, with a tub AND a shower! Tons of TV channels, lot's of light and it's clean! Great friendly check-in, but only coffee for breakfast. But I don't stay at a hotel for food! I would stay again, as I have already!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Place to Stay - Great friendly people. Allowed extra time in the room before check out. No breakfast, only coffee. Many places to eat, some in walking distance. We had a room farthest from road and was still noisy, but we did have a window open. Did get quiet by 10 pm. Would stay there again!!!
- Marilyn (10/5): Retro motel. - The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than any motel I have stayed in. A great retro throwback. Great place to stay!!
- Mike (8/5): A Better Alternative To Budget Chains - Nevada Inn is an older property from the days when US 54 was the main route to Kansas City. It's well maintained and clean. Free WiFi, clean shower, bath room, and firm bed. Much better than the budget chains where the sheets are damp, bathrooms questionable. This is a modest, quiet place.
- Randy (4/5): The room was very clean, but bizarrely laid out - I have no real idea why the room is the way it is, but it really is odd. Everything was clean, but a few items need replacing. Little items available at any lumber yard.
The air conditioner was completely inadequate. The room was an oven. Yes, it is hot right now, but this was completely unacceptable. I ended up going to Walmart and buying a fan. I should have stayed an Holiday Inn. For the same money (including fan), I would have gotten a better room and breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice Hotel-Close to Funeral Home-WHERE WE WERE GOI - Just overnight stay-Staff were Friendly-Room was Clean --Refr. ,Air-heat , TV Good--No complaints
- Dutch (4/5): It's a basic old motel. - It had a comfortable bed, a slight odor & no breakfast.
- Denorah (8/5): Clean, reasonable, not opulent.Very friendly staff. - Quick trip to pick up equipment. Nice check in and out. Coffee, no breakfast but cost is reasonable. Nice folks. Would stay again, for sure.
- Xochitl e (6/5): - A group of us were visting some friends at Cottey College for Founder's Weekend! It was a great sized room for a reasonable price and it was near the school. This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel.
- Todd (6/5): Place to Sleep - It was short. basically slept 7 hours and left.
- Tricia (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - I have stayed at this motel twice now and always have a great stay. I would recommend this motel to anyone. I will definitely use this motel again next time I need to stay in Nevada.
- Doug (10/5): Old but clean - This place is old and the rooms have not been updated, but it is clean and quiet. There is plenty of room too. I think the lack of updates and funky colors in the bathroom give it some character!
- jwmoose (8/5): it was very nice for an older style motel - stayed overnight because of long day of work. the room was comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. very clean. the price was right for the area.
- Amy (4/5): Never again - I will not stay there again. Horribly old. Rust around all the plumbing. Threadbare carpet, linens and towels. I didn't go barefoot. New TV, microwave, refrigerator a plus. The smoke alarm was already hanging from the ceiling and at 8 AM they went off in every room. And again at 8:30. There was no apology just a smile when I checked out.
- David (10/5): Big bathtub - Reviews were correct: older hotel nicely redone rooms. Spacious clean modern room and huge bathroom. Would stay long term.
- Gary (8/5): Perfect for our purpose - We wanted a "no-frills" place to stay for the night, and this fit perfectly. Sufficiently clean, friendly staff, everything worked, and the beds were comfortable. Good free coffee in the office.
- Ariel (10/5): Spacious Roomy - Wonderful little hotel. Looks like a typical old motel on the outside, but was a roomy spacious inside compared to normal somewhat cramped space most hotels provide.
- Frank (8/5): - Ouick check in. Friendly desk clerk room small would be uncomfortable for more than 2
- Lyndon (8/5): A 1950's motel with character - One thing that I am coming to appreciate about Hotels.com is that they don't just have listings for hotels on the edge of town that all look alike once you are in the room. This older motel has character from the 1950's. The room was comfortable, the bed was great, new TV and the bathroom was HUGE. I don't think I ever saw such a big bathroom. The room I had, had both a big round tub and a big walk in shower. It was just plain fun to stay here - it made me wish that I was driving a big old convertible!
- Orin (6/5): - good value for the money
not the newest motel in the area but we were happy with our stay
- Nan (10/5): Good location for our stop. - My daughter , son and I were to be in Nevada for a couple of days and chose Nevada Inn basically because other that I tried were full. However, it was a pleasant surprise when we walked in the found the size of the rooms. Daughter an I shared a room and son was next door. The only thing II think of that could have been more convenient would have been ice closer to our room. They were basically booked, obviously with a number of men working some place (they do have weekly rates), but agreed to let us have our two rooms one extra day, saying that they were the only two available, and that they would save them until I had a chance to speak with my son and see if his plans would include the extra day. This is the only motel that I have stay in in Nevada, MO as former trips there were in a motor home, thus I cannot compare it with others in that location.
- Stephen (10/5): WE'LL BE BACK - I wasn't sure what we were getting in to. A small town, and reasonable price. Even a poor review on one site. We walked in, and we're thrilled. The room was large enough to be a suite. The beds were great. The bathroom had a garden tub and a tiled shower. Plus there were two sinks. I've already been telling people how great it was. I highly recommend it.
- Lorena (4/5): okay for the price - The sheets were clean, but the room smelled and the tile in the shower did not look clean. It was okay for a night and I can't complain on the price. It was what I expected to be from previous reviews and pictures.
- Christopher (8/5): A nice step back into the 1960's. - I stayed here to save my company money. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is HUGE. The shower was plenty hot in the morning. I was close to the end of the motel, so I could hear truck traffic going by until very early in the morning.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Professionals needed for hidden gem - February 2015. It wouldn't take much for the owner to make this a great "must stay here" motel in Nevada, MO. The extra large bedrooms are quaint, dated and seen lots of use over the decades. I personally like the 1950's tile in VERY large bathrooms, however the beds and other furniture are well used, needing replacement and general modernizing. There are new appliances including a television but wires dangled carelessly. The bedrooom heater worked well but bathroom tile floor never warmed, making for a frigid, fast shower (this might be cool in the summer however). I changed to a different hotel after the first of my two nights in town. The manager was friendly and allowed me to see another room but I saw no real difference in quality. Again, this motel may again one day be a terrific motel, given serious professional renovations including: insulation/soundproofing of walls and doors, fresh paint, heated bathroom floors in winter, new carpet, beds and linen. I'd love to see this gem of a motel shine again!
- troy (6/5): OLDER HOTEL, BUT WORTH THE PRICE - OLDER HOTEL. ROOMS WERE AVERAGE. GOOD FOR THE MONEY
- pedro (6/5): good price - Good price . decent hotel. Will stay again.
- cindy (6/5): Clean and comfortable - The room was certainly dated but very clean. Bathroom was huge and old fashioned mint green tile was sparkling clean. Beds were new and very comfy.
- Machell (8/5): Nevada Inn - This was an unscheduled stop for me, late in the evening, after a long day driving. The desk clerk was very friendly in spite of the late hour, and the room was quite large and clean. Everything I needed was accessible and easy. I would stay here again if the need arose; this is probably the best and most economical option for a brief stay in a rather large (and empty) area along highways.
- TINA (8/5): great for an older motel!!!! - Staff was very friendly and helpful
- Will (8/5): - This is an older hotel, I can remember staying there in the early 70s. But it is very clean, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Had a nice room and the bathroom was much larger than modern units.
