Guest Reviews
- A (10/5): Amazing time in Bellagio - An enormous apartment with a great view on Como lake. Nice host;)
- kanchana (10/5): - Nice and clean place, location is wonderful. Owner very nice and answer question very quick
- Neil (4/5): Very disappointing, overall. Not the hotel, it was - The bed was comfortable, there was a kitchen but no kettle, we boiled water in a saucepan, the shower did not drain so our feet were covered in water, yuk. It did have a washing machine, good. A very small distant view of the lake could be seen from the balcony. There is a long way and a shorter way to get there, all uphill.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great spot, close to town, quiet, comfortable, and beautiful view.
- TK (4/5): Bellagio centrally located full lake view. - Nice big 2bedroom apartment with one bathroom and fabulous full lake view. Excellent location in centre of Bellagio but extremely noisy with motorcycles loading & unloading onto ferries throughout the day. Noise was an issue.
- Megan Jane (10/5): - Amazing clean, easy to access unit in the middle of the action in Bellagio. Everything inside the apartment was new and it was a bonus to have a dishwasher. Would thoroughly recommend
- Derrick (2/5): Never again!! - Extremely noisy 24/7, unable to due to noise from local restaurants and delivery vehicles .
- tim (8/5): - amenities sub par. received recommendation on restaurant across the apartment...it was the worst food experience in Europe. Otherwise, it is walkable to the main parts of Bellagio if willing to walk 20 min up and down hill
- Jennifer (10/5): Highly recommend staying here - Place was clean and walking distance to sites, shops, excellent restaurants. I was very comfortable in the apartment complete with kitchen! Everything is convenient. Ambiance is lovely. Super fast wifi!! Atm right across and two grocery markets nearby.. I felt at home
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful apartment in the Bellagio itself. The hosts were super lovely and really helpful.
- Patricia J (6/5): - Traffic noise on both sides.
Needs to be updated with new couch, chairs at dining table, change bed spread to a different bedspread (purple too intense), Otherwise nice view and location.
- vee (10/5): Bello Bellagio - Mattia our host was wonderful. We kept in touch throughout out journey. and were welcomed warmly. So pleased with our upgraded apartment. Such a surprise. Thank you so much. It made our stay all the more memorable.
- Sari & Szabolcs (10/5): Nice hotel next to the board walk - Very nice..hotel was efficiently equipped closed to the main shopping area and transportation.. with a beautiful panoramic view.
- Ericka (8/5): Great view, large space, but old bathroom. - Nice, big space. The shower was a converted bathtub, so not a lot of room for moving around in there. It was fine for a short stay, but more than a day or two and I think the shower situation would be annoying. The staff were very nice and carried our bags up the stairs to get to the location of the apartment, and then up the stairs to the first floor where the apartment was in the building. The view was amazing!
- dina (10/5): My Bellagio moment - Very comfortable, clean, spacious and enjoyed a free upgrade. Will definitely come back and recommend to family and friends.
- Verified traveler (4/5): View all that was great - Smelled like old smoke they have tried unsuccessfully to cover up. Bed was only a fold out couch, which made a lot of noise and was uncomfortable. Also worth nothing room was up 3 flights of stairs. There are several units in different buildings as part of this apartment rental so be clear which you are getting.
- Virgil (6/5): Not worth the money - Poor service, uncomfortable cheap bed mattress, zero communication from hotel people. Nobody there to clean rooms,change/makeup bed and pick up garbage.
During the whole stay no one called to ask us if we need anything.
Poor supply of soaps,Bath towels...There was one bath towel each for the entire stay..
- Virgil (6/5): Not worth the money - stunning view, relaxing time
poor, very poor service.zero hotel communication. Cracked lavatory seat. No one ever came to see if we need anything...Change towels, soap, hair shampoo etc.No one answers the phone calls.
- Frank (6/5): Great views - This is an apartment and not a hotel and although booked with some apprehension it turned out to be excellent with nicely decorated rooms, situated on the waterfront with great views.
- Dave (8/5): Hotel was great - The lady that met us as very nice and helpful
- Paul (4/5): Not what we expected - We were disappointed to find out that the hotel that we had booked was in fact an apartment about 5km from Bellagio town
We waited at the hotel for about an hour for someone from the hotel to arrive and tell us that they were taking us elsewhere and the address that went to expecting to be the hotel where we staying was only the meeting place
We had travelled half way around the world to stay in Bellagio to find that this was not the case
It was too far for us to walk back to town and the bus service was very limited
If you plan on staying at this hotel, make sure that it is the hotel that you have booked and not some make shift accomodation
The accomodation that was proved was acceptable but not where we were expecting to be staying. It would have been ok if we had a car but we were travelling but train which left us stranded somewhere where we didn't want to be
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay Away! Address given is not real location - Don't be fooled by the pictures and descriptions. The address listed is not the address of the hotel! They simply pick you up at that address and drive you up into the hills where there is no public transport. Its at least a 30 minute walk to the ferry from the actual location. I live in NYC and walk everywhere and I walk fast, believe me when I say its at least 30 minutes. If you Google this restaurant it is directly across the street from where they take you: Ristorante Pizzeria Bellavista. We would have stayed somewhere else if they hadn't lied about the location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This apartment is located in a residential neighborhood. It is a 20+ minute walk to the water where all the action is. There is a fantastic pizza/ pasta restaurant across the street. It was comfortable for my family of five; there are two bed rooms, a living room with a sleeper sofa, kitchen, dining room and one bathroom. Nice views.
- Verified traveler (6/5): May not get what you booked....but lovely - Booked and paid for the Family Home for 6 on Hotels.com, the easy accessible apartment near the old town (with yellow interior walls) but when we arrived we were told its not available (i saw someone elses car parked there so they probably double booked us).
So we were given another apartment but it was too far from the old town and difficult to manage up and down with a toddler. So i was annoyed at the how my booking was mis-managed and believe when you book a particular room on Hotels.com you should get what you pay for espaically annoying when much further away. The staff did there best to rectify the situation.
However the place was right by the lake on the otherside of Bellagio, spacious, well equipped, actually nicer interior than the one we originally booked. Living room has view of the lake and few steps away from swimming. Place is near another hotel but a good 15 mins walk away from any grocery store.
Bellagio is beauiful but touristic, probably one of the most beautiful places on lake Como (and the quiter Varenna.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Good location but noisy - This is not a hotel but a flat.
Met up with someone at a car park to get keys. The flat is right in the centre but rather noisy at night and we all got woken up by the bells of the nearby church at 7.30, and then 30 minutes later.
- Todd (4/5): BIG BEWARE- location mis- represented. - BIG BEWARE. Not marketed properly- location mis-represented. We booked this apartment as it was described as "steps away from the boat launch, restaurants, in the center of town." You pay upfront upon booking. When we arrived in Bellagio, they greeted us at the ferry in town and escorted us to our apartment, which was about 2 miles outside of town, up curving roads, not anywhere close to walking to anything. Come to find out they have both in town locations and a few outside of town- none of which are indicated on Hotels.com nor are you given a choice of the in town or out of town location- all are marketed as in town, steps away from the lake, etc. They charge you the same price for both and don't indicate that you could get one over the other. We would have NEVER booked this place so far out so were very disappointed and stuck as they had our money and conveniently didn't have any other apartments available. NOT worth the risk. Would not recommend in the least bit.
- Carrie (10/5): wonderful location, great apartment - Wonderful location, felt like a local staying there. Beautiful views! The apartment was 2 levels with a kitchen and living room upstairs and 2 bedrooms downstairs. Right in the center of everything..restaurants, shopping, grocery stores. Very easy to get supplies to make your own meal in the kitchen. Elisa from the hotel contacted us a couple of weeks before check in to set up a meeting place for check in, as there is no formal lobby. Travelled with 3 kids under 10; apartment was great for us all. Would definitely go back if we are in the area again!
- Gillian (8/5): Apartment with washing machine - Stayed in apartment. Cooker did not work so could it use expresso machine. Washing machine was great as we were 2 weeks into a European tour! Comfy and just off shopping and restaurant syreet
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is not hotel, this is a room.
The room is in an old building with no elavatour and on the highset floor.
So need to get the lagauge by ourselfs , there is no parcking near by, so if this is raining it is not nice ...
But the room it self is nice , the location is good and the view is nice
- Christine (10/5): Bellagio - The hotel was in the perfect location, walking distance to many things. It offered a beautiful view of Lake Como. I would highly recommend this apartment.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful Bellagio - We had a wonderful time!!!
- Terry (8/5): Fair price for family of four to stay in Bellagio. - We booked two nights when I thought I was coming by train, but we came by car. It is adjacent to either, but there is climbing steps and cobblestone roads and sidewalks. We were older travelers. I told the person who met us we had a handicapped person and he switched us to a first floor apt. They have a number of apts. all over Bellagio, so there is not one description for the apt.s. Ours was small but adequate, a very small kitchen, equipped but no coffee maker and they never supplied one, though they said they would. We had one with us so we made do. But the apt. is close to everything and the fold out bed is super comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location/access to phone a must/some issues - Overall, great location in the center of Bellagio with all the cute shops and restaurants close by. The internet was excellent. I will note however, if you plan to stay here, it is best to have an international phone, in order to contact the owners to obtain the keys. We waited hours to try and get in contact with someone via email, with no response. When we finally did, they said it would be 15 min. It ended up being 45 min as they have other properties and guests they needed to attend to. We had to use the telephone of a nearby hotel to contact the owners.
We had two major issues with the property: 1. When you first entered the apartment the smell of sewage was overwhelming. The following day, we left the bathroom door closed, and upon our return, did not have a problem with the smell. There is very clearly a plumbing or sewage issue. 2. The power went out, possibly from using too many outlets at once, and we did not receive any advance notice that this may happen, or how to fix it. This problem was made worse, by the fact that the internet stopped working and we had no way of contacting the owners. We had to go to a nearby restaurant and ask to use their telephone to contact the apartment. The owners were very quick to respond.
Considering the price of the apartment, much higher than other places, it really was not a great value. Other than the smell of sewage, the apartment itself was clean, although smaller than expected, and the sofa bed was comfortable.
- Mary (10/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay. Clean rooms, walking distance to the city center. It was a nice surprise when we received an upgrade. When we arrived, Elisa was very helpful and gave us a tour of the apartment. I felt really comfortable staying in this place, and I would make sure I choose this place when I go back to Bellagio.
- Carlos (10/5): Best Italian experience during fall - We got a very spacious and luxurious room right in front of the pier. We believe is a great opportunity to come to Northern Italy during the low season. The staff was very helpful.
- gary (10/5): When a hotel room is an appartment - Hotel was actually an appartment very roomy very clean just had to get one of the restaurants to ring the person to let us in
- Carleigh (8/5): Great little apartment in center of town - I only stayed there one night, but this was a great apartment in a fantastic location. Everything you would need, especially for a few days with the kitchenette, dining/living area and separate bedroom. Is located right in the center of town, just a few blocks uphill from the ferry. Highly recommend.
- Thibeaut123 (10/5): Loved this hotel! - I loved it! We had a FANTASTIC view that was to die for. The only problem we had was getting in touch with the people. Make sure you wait for a confirmation email. We are on our honeymoon and find places that have wifi and book hotels and then leave. I did not see the email from them saying where to meet and what number to call because I no longer had wifi. My fault. Once we got in touch they came to us and took us to the hotel. Everything was wonderful. We tried to stay a second night but they were fully booked.
- Virginia (10/5): I recommend it - Great location, very quaint et quiet. Very clean. Kitchen was a little challenging given how small everything was. It was not really possible to cook.
I appreciated the good communication and clear directive with the owner prior to getting there.
- Chris (6/5): - Facilities: Bare minimum, Small ; Value: Could be better, Not as described; Service: Courteous; Cleanliness: Hygienic ;
It was grossly overpriced small and pokey for its remote location
- Jenna K (10/5): Nice location - We were in Venice, coming to lake como. We left Venice right at 5:30 pm when everyone was trying to get on a ferry. Getting out of Venice took us two hours and to get to Belliago it was a 3.5 hour! We got into Belligao at almost 12 at night and the lady who owned the place was sweet enough to get out of bed and come and let us in! She was so sweet and so helpful. We were very appreciative of how much she cared and how nice she was to us. I would recommend this hotel for anyone to stay in!
- Alexandra (10/5): The best location in Bellagio. - Our hostess, Micoll, was so very friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The apartment had an excellent location, just steps from everything. We loved having the two separate rooms with enough space for ourselves and our two teenagers. The small kitchen proved to be very helpful as we could make coffee and have small snacks. The apartment was clean, safe, well stocked and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the place to friends, family and fellow travelers.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - If you are looking to stay somewhere on a budget, this place will meet your needs. Pictures online looked nicer.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Bellagio!! - When arriving had a hard time find the apartment. Tried calling the owner several times. Finally got through couple hours later to find out it was a different apartment around the block. Not good when carrying a lot of luggage. The apartment was nice had a odor to it. The time in Bellagio was amazing, lost time on the first day. Definitely would go back, probably to the same apartment. Just not in the summer no AC.
- Kris (8/5): - Value: Value for money; Service: Professional, Friendly, Courteous; Cleanliness: Pleasant;
Make contact by telephone when you first arrive
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice apartment. Great location. But...... - We loved Belagio. Best town to stay in in the Lake Como area. This apartment had a great location for walking and the ferry. It was clean and roomy. However a few negatives. A wine bar was right under the bedroom windows. A lot of noise until 1:00 AM. Then the store and street cleaning (blowers) started at 7AM. Beds were hard. Had a shared washer upstairs in old room. But no dryer. Had to hang clothes to dry. I would stay at a hotel next time we go there.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Please beware! - My once in a lifetime stay in Bellagio was very disappointing. PLEASE CHECK your booking carefully! I booked this place according to its description and was thoroughly disappointed. NONE of the 35 photos online correspond to the property we were given, "rooms have lake views" - NO lake view (the main reason I chose this place was for the lake view), "air conditioned guest room" - rickety ceiling fan instead, A/C was in living room to access it you needed to switch it on through a HOLE in the wall, I kid you not, "washer/dryer" - no washer nor dryer, "wireless high speed Internet" - yes wireless but terribly slow and kept on cutting out, "flat screen TV" - it was not flat, it was curved and dated, like the TV from my childhood, and parking was terribly inconvenient (there is no on site parking). In all fairness, the bathroom and kitchen were good and the girl who checked us in was lovely. When I rang to discuss my concerns with the manager, after much discussion we were offered a pastry and coffee. Yes that was nice, however truth be told, the dream of my Bellagio stay has definitely been tainted. The best thing from our trip was the service we received from Hotels.com to investigate our complaint afterwards. We paid a considerable amount and it was not worth it. Ps there is an extra "checking in fee" as well tacked at the end of your cash payment. We loved the Lake Como area but we hope you don't experience the disappointment we did.
- C & J (8/5): Great location and home comforts - The accommodation is located in the centre of town directly above a gelati shop. The apartment is simple, clean and has a well equipped kitchen. It has been renovated recently so bathroom and kitchen are clean and everything works. The service is excellent. On arrival we were greeted by staff and showed us how to get there (can be difficult in small, lake townships), where to park etc. Home away from home.
- C & J (8/5): Perfect location, home comforts & great service - The accommodation is located in the centre of town directly above a gelati shop.. The apartment is simple, clean and has a well equipped kitchen. It has been renovated recently so bathroom and kitchen are clean and everything works.
The service is excellent. They met us on arrival at the ferry, showed us how to get there (can be difficult in small, lake townships), showed us where to park, where to shop, where to eat etc, felt like home in the first hour of arrival.
If you are looking for a home away from home, but in a gorgeous Lake Como town, this is your place!
- Sally (10/5): Great apartment - nice hosts - perfect location - We enjoyed this apartment. It's above a great restaurant and directly across from the main ferry station in Bellagio. The hosts did a great job giving us information, responding when we had questions, and were friendly.
