Guest Reviews
- SYED ZAMANAT (8/5): - The location is good. Though while booking I thought it is located on the boulevard road, but I found it in the lane opposite GHAT NO. 1. Yet, it wasn't too far away from it. The menu in the restaurant was quite limited. Also, there were very few people managing all the orders, which included serving the guests in their rooms. As a result we had to wait long for ROTI.
- Ashish (10/5): Exceptional - Clean comfortable rooms, very curtious staff and excellent location. The manager was extremely helpful and made our stay very comfortable. Looking forward to the next time we visit Srinagar and will definitely stay here. Highly recommend as the hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Dal Lake. Enjoyed morning and evening walk along the lake.
- Maxmueller (10/5): Exceptional - Good Good

- Mehak (10/5): A very well maintained, thoughtful and beautiful place to stay with your family. Im sure to book this place again for my - We had an absolutely amazing time at Walisons Hotel. The rooms were spacious and spotless. The breakfast was delicious, with a huge variety of options! The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Everything was perfect !
- Ahmad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shahid (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent Very nice hotel, just walking distance to dal lake and markets. Spacious rooms with all amenities. Cleanliness and upkeep of whole property is commendable.
- Namitha (1/5): Bad -
- Namitha (2/5): Very poor - The staff were friendly and helpful. 1. The room was dirty, and no extra towels were provided.
2. The bathroom had some ventilation issues, and it reeked of urine.
3. The staff didn't mention anything about a gate closing time, and we were looked out at night with staff not answering the phone. Finally, one of us had to jump across the gate and had to open another smaller gate from inside to let others in.
4. For the money that we spend(88 euros), we barely got any service.
- Prakash (3/5): Not value for Money. - Location is Good. Staff was polite and ok. Service is bad. Only one Hair Dryer at the Entire Property! Really? Had to wait for our turn so that the other guest finish using it. And Rats running on the Ceiling whole night common and we are paying you for what? RAT CIRCUS. My Advice is Be serious in Hospitality Business.

- Piyush (5/5): Avg they charged too much but facilities were less for the cost - Location , it’s near to lake No adequate power backup , they don’t turn on generators when power goes down
- Bhagali (9/5): Superb - Location, size of room and breakfast
- Sandy (6/5): Will not stay here again - Had to ask for fresh sheets as beds were only made with blankets… cannot see how this unhygienic practice is accepted as it is unpractical to wash blankets off beds after every checkout.
- Pedro (10/5): Exceptional - The manager, Mr. Sajat Bhat, and all the staff were extremely kind and indefatigable in satisfying all our wishes.
- Buchiah (10/5): Nice place the staff was great above all manager He helped us in all our stay hats for him - Location was very good breakfast also everything was great Problem of electricity at night

It does have a restaurant available so no need to worry for food. although food was good will surely recommend anyone for next stay and in budget option
- Hanka (6/5): Pleasant - Big room, centrally located It was one of the loudest hotels I have ever been in. From the reviews I expected a tranquil location, but there was loud talking at all times, kids screaming and taking, honking and car noise, and construction right next door. Could not wait to leave. Overpriced taxi service too.
- Naresh (3/5): Poor - Location. Nothing else Cleanliness and quality of rooms. Lack of Professionalism of staff.
- Petra (8/5): it was a very pleasant stay! - I like how the Hotel is decorated with traditional kashmiri chain stiched materials, and wood-carved walnut beds. It is a very beautiful place. Besides that, although only 3-5 walking minutes from Dal Gate Bazaar, the hotel's neighbourhood is calm, and the beautiful garden lets you forget you are actually downtown Srinagar!
- Akshay (4/5): Disappointing -

- S (10/5): Excellent - Walisons Hotel at Srinagar was the place where we spent a nights. We had a great time staying at the hotel. It is 2-3mint walking distance from Dal lake and is near Gate #2. Other markets are also nearby. This hotel has a pleasant ambience, Hotel staff are very helpful. It was nice and comfortable stay in the hotel.Hospitality was best great location and superb facilities. The rooms are unexpectedly spacious with big bathrooms. The hotel is clean and airy.
- Ahmed (8/5): Very good -
- Mahak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suhasini (9/5): Good experience. Will stay again for sure - B fast was ok Variety
- Sandeep (9/5): Srinagar Stay review - An excellent architectural building which captures ones attention. I would like to put on record the good assistance & advisory of Mr Sajad Bhat, overseeing the operations of this hotel which is located at stone's throw distance from Dal Lake. He ensures comfortable stay of guests from check-in to check out. The family room has a huge space of 250 sqft with 2 double beds and 2 seperate toilets. It can easily fit 6 adults. Location of Walisons hotel is adjacent to market.
Mr Bhat helped me organise the outdoor location visits to optimise the available daylight duration.
As regards food, I had it at outside restaurants. Lights in wash room seemed inadequate.
- Monirul (9/5): Superb - Nice hotel. At very good location. staff were exceptionally good. Should give a room heater. When asked said it will be available after 15 November. But it was already 2-3 * Centigrade at night on 8-13 Nov
- Saugata (9/5): Heritage Properrt near Dal Lake - Excellent location, good food and excellent staff behavior. Need more lights in the room
- Thenappan (9/5): Superb -
- Pradyumna (6/5): Pleasant - location The renovation work was very disturbing.
- Aamir (10/5): Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, i suggest to visit this hotel and feel the diff. - Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place is really good and being at very start of dal lake . Also the amince of the hotel is good and rooms are quite nice and spacious.
- RAVI CHANDER (6/5): Nice hotel close to lake- BAD ENTRANCE ROAD - Our stay was OK, I was expecting a super stay, but had a mixed response though. I landed at the hotel around 2 am, the manager politely asked me to fork 2600 bucks since the check in time i was told was 2pm! With no where to go i had to shell out the money. This came as a rude shock- after an arduous journey from Jammu, A quick check revealed that the designated room was up for grabs, and the hotel was literally empty, since the booking was a confirmed one I felt let down. We wanted to postpone the booking by one day since we wanted to visit Pehalgam, but the management refused, then again i was asked to pay another 1600 bucks, which i did. Eventually i stuck with the same schedule since the boat house that i had booked refused to pre- pone my schedule check in. On checking out- The said amount was not refunded since i was told that it took care of transporting me to the boat house across the Nagin lake. In all i paid around INR 4200 extra. That said, the staff were very courteous. though we did not get any water in the wash room on any mornings- the staff helped us out with pale of water, without a sweat! The driver who ferried us on city sight seeing, later to Gulmarg and Pehalgam, was a gem of a guy. Moral of the story- Pls be careful about the check in and check out time. As you will end up getting fleeced due to oversight.
- Rajesh (8/5): Great Stay! ☺☺ - My group of 4 families had a great experience at Walisons Hotel for 4 days. The hotel staff was extremely courteous and food was also good. Electric blanket was a blessing. It has ample space for children to move and have fun. The proximity of the hotel to Dal Lake is also great. Overall its a great hotel with good value of money.
- Anil (10/5): Nice hotel close to dal lake - Great stay enjoyed every minute of it.staff was out of the way helpful.defonately come back.
- Dennis (8/5): Nice place to stay in Srinagar - Nice location, no issues in the hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Walked out to other hotel no a/ c no clean room - Horrible hopeless went to new hotel this hotel should not have even any star rating at all I do not know who gave 3 star rating for this junk yord you should refund my money as I did not stay in this hotel which is not worthy even for my dog
- Gunjan (6/5): decent hotel at a nice location - Decent hotel. Spacious room and close to dal lake. Limited open space but good value for money.
- Avinash (8/5): Nice hotel close to food outlets, market - Though the hotel is in a lane, the overall experience is very good. The check-in was easy, rooms were clean and neat. Beds with electric heating facility -useful during cold nights
- Sudip (8/5): Nice hotel close to Dal lake and value for money - Location of the hotel is good - near to important tourist arractition of Srinagar, Dal Lake & near to maket. Hotel facilities & conditions are good. Comfortable stay with famility. Overall experience - real value for money.
- Adnan (8/5): Good price amazing stay - Hotel was not by any means high end but it definitely has superb staff and customer service
- Amit (10/5): value for your money - It was a nice experience during my stay with family.
- Psymeet (10/5): Just AMAZING!!!!! - Superb experience staying at Walisons Hotel in Srinagar....I Would rate this hotel 5 Out of 5 as per the entire stay of mine was simply amazing experience at Walisons hotel....
- Rajnish Malik, (8/5): Staff was decent. Well behaved. Fooding was limite - Near Dal lake. Toilets were neat and clean. VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE ONLY BREAKFAST VEGETARIAN FOOD NEEDS TO BE PRO VIDEO. ROOMS ARE SPACIOUS. OVERALL GOOD EXPERIENCE
- jig (8/5): cosy hotel in convenient location - good service, convenient location, good facilities, walking distance to many restaurants and shopping area.2 minutes walk from dal lake boulevard.helpful staff.
- agnihotri (8/5): great location and well kept rooms - We had 2 rooms for 1 night stay on our way back to home from an enjoyable Kashmir trip. Rooms were tastefully designed and neatly kept. Wash rooms, although good, can still be improved and brought at par with rooms. We could not appreciate the restaurant services (coffee and tea served in rooms were below average) as menu had limitation in terms of items offerred (it was 10 pm and month of June 2014). staff is courteous and prompt. It is walkable distance from Ghat No 2 of Dal lake and there are lot of eataries in the vicinity. You can enjoy a shikara ride, book gondola (cable trolley) in gulmarg, book a taxi from shops located in neighbourhood of Wali - sons hotel. Overall a satisfactory stay.
- Ameya (6/5): Value for money - Let me start right off by saying that the Wallisons is NOT a luxury hotel. So, if you expect a plush carpet, top end furniture, big screen TV and butlers waiting on you hand and foot, you'd be disappointed. What it IS though, is a clean, comfortable and above all, homely place to spend the night in. It's location is a major plus - right next to the boulevard (where all the 'action' is, so to speak) and yet tucked away in a lane so it's quiet and secluded. The rooms are done up in wood, which takes getting used to initially but once you're over that, it's ok. Same thing for the blue-tinted night light that they have in those rooms. The layout of the property is not 'traditional' with rooms on either side of a long corridor. Rather, you'll find that you have to get out of one building and walk into another to access some rooms. The service is warm and the people are friendly. There is an attached restaurant which serves basic fare - so great to grab a quick egg or a paratha (I LOVED the parathas they made) before you head out into town. All in all - you get the feeling of staying in this really big villa rather than a commercial hotel.
- Partha (8/5): Nice hotel just opposite to Ghat No. 2 on Dal Lake - We stayed in this hotel in March-2014. Overall a very good hotel. Location-wise it is situated close to the Dal lake and also the local market is a walking distance. Other areas like Lal-chowk, Polo View are within 3-5 Kms.
The rooms are comfortable. The geysers, electric-blankets and room-heaters work nicely. The bathrooms are clean.
The hotel-staffs are very very cordial and helpful.
My only suggestion would be in the area of Kashmiri cuisines (Rista/Gustava etc.) in their restaurant. The food quality is good. My intent is not to criticize them just for the sake of it. Considering the fact that they have maintained high standard for the rooms, they can take the standard of the cuisines to the next level.
Thanks!
- Bhavesh (8/5): Fantastic location, great value for money - I stayed there for 1 night. Extremely friendly staff, very cozy room. Perfect for the budget traveler. The room that I stayed in didn't have any view outside. Fantastic value for money. Would definitely go there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel with good location - It was good stay for me at hotel Walisons. It's plus point is the location (2 mins walk from Dal lake). Food was also good. Staff was supportive and hotel provides all basic amenities at reasonable price. I recommend to stay here if budget is not high.
- Abhishek (8/5): Great location and price. - The hotel is not on road but in a lane adjoining the Dal Lake about 60 mts inside. Its structure is good and gives a feeling of a bungalow instead of a hotel. Inside, the rooms are comfortable and the staff provides sufficient heating to tolerate the chilling weather of Kashmir.
Our overall experience was good with the hotel and staff.
