Mark (10/5): - A very nice hotel, central for Doncaster. Very friendly and professional staff, the rooms are big and clean with freshly changed towels etc (not something you get often these days) and it’s just very stylish with its Art Deco them and history.

Dawn (8/5): - The ground floor bar and restaurant was well decorated. We looked at the 2nd floor suites which are very art deco in their execution but very glitzy. Room could do with a refurb but everything you could need was there. The best part of the stay though was the restaurant food. We were assured it was all freshly cooked and it was excellent. We had Dinner and Breakfast and both were great as was the service for both meals.

Helen (8/5): - The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bar person was polite and waiting staff helpful food was good. The room was a little tired ring marks on a bedside table, some scratches on rest of furniture and chairs were uncomfortable. We had a superior family room extra pillows would have been useful and glasses that had milk left in them were not washed by the maid and had to be got rid of by guests no clean glasses were provided this was not appreciated. A bar in the shower would be useful as one of the guest found it very difficult and had a fear of slipping. The location of the hotel was excellent . We would plan a revisit the points raised could be easily rectified .

When we went to the bedroom there was the let down the furniture needed a definite upgrade,through the night i was awakened by loud noises from above which continued for at least 20 minutes it wasn't just footsteps which the receptionist suggested, i know what i heard so not very helpful.

The ladies on reception and breakfast are lovely. This time we had room 406, lovely big room overlooking carpark. Very quiet. Highly recommend

Steve (10/5): Wonderful - Been a number of years since I last stayed at the Earl, but will be my go to when in the area for sure. Rooms were comfortable, well equipped and in immaculate condition. Staff were super friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and breakfast was incredible. Special shout out to the eggs royale, lovely to have some healthy breakfast choices along with the usual full English - which looked equally good! Many thanks to all!
Diane (8/5): - On arrival the outside seating area looked ready for a refresh and then the reception seemed disinterested in our arrival so not a good start. When I asked the receptionist if I should pay now she said now or later it's up to you so I paid then. She informed me that there were two lifts and we could use either so I asked which was the closest to our room as my sister has mobility issues, she said there was the same distance between so it didn't matter which we used, but later on we discovered that the second one, the one we didn't use, was literally a dozen steps from the room whereas the one we used entailed much more walking than that, the receptionist should have told us that. However, she did offer to get us a taxi and gave us some information about where we were going. After that we found the bar staff very good indeed, the cleaners pleasant and helpful. We also loved the full on art deco design! Our twin room was spacious with a good walk in shower and a roomy bathroom. Plenty of clothes storage, good towels and toiletries and comfy beds. The cleanliness was excellent throughout. Therefore we would return but do think one receptionist could do with a little more training. The other two I came across were professional, friendly and helpful.

Martin (4/5): - Paid for an executive room but I am afraid it was not acceptable. The hotel has sealed the windows in the room and the only ventilation is from the a/c. Upon entering the room we were overwhelmed with the intense heat that has built up. We switched on the air con and set it to the fast speed and coldest temp. 2 hrs later and the room was still very hot. We tried another room and it was the same situation. Even worse in fact because the 2 hrs we spent in the first room was watered. We had to start over again. I had to ask reception for a fan and they did give us a fan that helped.

The staff can’t do enough for us, they are so accommodating and friendly. We’ve actually just extended our stay for another evening. Emily (2/5): Holes in curtains, terrible service, wifi rubbish - arrival at check-in we were sent to our room, only to find it was still being cleaned.directed back to the lobby, where we had to wait with our luggage. Given the inconvenience, we expected at least a complimentary drink as a goodwill gesture,nothing was offered. Instead, my partner was mistakenly charged £9 for a non-alcoholic wine, which was later corrected to £6 after we pointed out the error. Service at the bar was slow, waiting 15 minutes to be served and we waited nearly an hour before our room was finally ready. When we were allowed up, the cleaner was still in the room. Given our mobility issues, and the long wait we had already endured, it would have been reasonable for staff to offer assistance with our luggage—yet no such offer was made. The net curtain had a hole in it, there was loud noise from the adjacent ballroom until midnight. noise is understandable, no complimentary earplugs were provided. The bed was uncomfortably hard, making it difficult to sleep, and between that and the noise we got a few hours sleep. Wifi unsuable couldnt call my partners daughter which was upsetting for her.
Paul (2/5): Avoid. - Very disappointing, when arriving the room was dirty, and had dirty underwear in it from a previous guest.
Daryn (2/5): - We are both none smokers but when we were in the room there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke on two occasions throughout the night there was no windows that could be opened so it wasn’t coming in from outside . It was very unpleasant and lingered for a good hour or so. There was also a buzzing sound that kept coming on and off through the night which we couldn’t pin point where it was coming from but made our sleep very broken . The phone wasn’t working in our room which we report on our first night we stayed two nights but no one came to sort it and we had to go down to the reception to order food to the room which was a bit disappointing as we just wanted to phone and get room service which you pay extra for .

Verified traveler (8/5): Overnight stay - We stayed at the Earl for one night as a treat for my sister's birthday. The hotel was lovely. The art deco building has been sympathetically restored and has some wonderful touches. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. My niggle was that I'd booked a family room to give us separate beds but on check in, we were placed in a double. When I went to point out the error, the receptionist said it showed our room was a family room (it wasn't) and they were fully booked so there were no other rooms available. She was apologetic. The hotel had checked earlier in the week how many guests would be staying but didn't once ask if we minded the room change. Not great customer service in my view.

LEE (8/5): - Staff was really friendly ,Room was clean apart from light fitting ( cobwebs) ,the room was spacious, tea and coffe facilities, my experience then was then spoilt by having no ligting in are room from 8.am ( of which they couldnt fix ) ,no window in bathroom to let any light in ,
Alastair (8/5): - The reason to stay here is the interior design but sadly the ambience of the bar and restaurant are too modern clashing with the decor - the music played was ok but the speakers in the bar were not working proberly so all bass and no trebble which was unpleasant. Very limited non alcoholic drink options. No non alcoholic cocktails. We also had a 1am false fire alarm. The service from all staff however fitted perfectly and was exceptional. Room was good size, lovely decor again and view of park to the rear. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom small but functional with some maintainace that needs attention - only staying one night so not able to say if fixed quickly. Good free parking at the rear. Overall for a 1 night stay it souted our needs. Thank you
