Guest Reviews
- Jeff (4/5): Not worth the price at all. - I paid for a 2 queen bedroom online because the hotel said that’s all they had. When I got there, they put me in a small 1 bedroom. I stayed there for 4 nights. Not once did they come to clean the room, replace towels, toilet paper or even soap. Only 1 small soap bar and 1 toilet paper roll for 4 days. Also the bed was so hard, I woke up constantly with lower back pain. Literally the worst bed I have ever slept in. On the positive side, there was no bugs. Spending hundreds and to get no service is a bit much. I don’t recommend and will not stay there again.
- Laura (6/5): - Hotel was clean. We checked in very late and left very early so we weren't there long enough to really look around. The beds were a bit hard but it had great water pressure.
- Bruce (8/5): - Old style, off the interstate but room renovated and less than half price of new budget hotel near the airport. No amenities, but only 20 minute drive to Denver airport.
- Waylon (8/5): - Decent motel for a short stay. Room was clean. TV was aged, but all decent.
- Melissa (6/5): - The semi’s make a lot of noise as they roar do the side roads. I was hoping with it being a little ways away from the highway that I’d be free from the noise. But I forgot about the toll/traffic jumpers. My room was clean. The bed was super firm which would have been okay if the pillow was really fluffy. I don’t mind that really. But the room needs some repairs, though you can see the clumsy previous repairs that have already been made. There was a water leak damage in the room near the window. The door stopper in the bathroom was broken.
So ultimately the room was a little scruffy. But it was clean with no bugs and it got me through my trip. So it wasn’t a bad trip or room, it just needs a massive update and in this economy I get that that is hard right now.
- Jaquila (2/5): - The only restaurant close by the motel closes at 3:45pm and if you're hungry you have to drive almost 20 minutes to the closest restaurant.
- Mark (6/5): - If you want to stay within 20 minutes of the Denver Airport and spend half to a third the cost of other area hotels, and you don’t need frills and amenities, this little gem is for you! I slept well in a clean room. The shower temp and pressure were an issue but did work. Lighting in room was decent. Owners were friendly and helpful. Again, don’t expect the Ritz for a price less than. A Motel 6.
- Kayla (8/5): - Was an older motel heater/ air wouldn't work right quiet tho which was nice
- L (6/5): - Ran down motel but clean and comfortable. Nothing but a gas station in the town
- Jim (8/5): - The little old hotel has great prices for an old hotel is clean and well kept
- James (8/5): Wonderfully kept small hotel - Amazing small older hotel clean friendly staff everything worked
- Tanya (2/5): - Umm, to keep this short, the Bates Motel Horror movie comes to mind. Never again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Secluded outside of town. Quiet, comfortable. The bathroom could be updated but i slept great and would stay again.
- Ryan (4/5): Not good. - Sketchy place. The front desk clerk was rude. I was surprised my vehicle didn’t get burglarized overnight.
- Larry (8/5): - Not bad. Ok for an overnight stay.
- Lissette (4/5): - For the price you can’t expect anything else. The rooms are small, flies everywhere, huge stains on carpet, water runs out in the mornings, etc.
- Kyungae (8/5): - 덴버 외곽에서 아스펜이나 그 외 서부지역으로 이동할 때
완전 마춤 모텔입니다
하룻밤 쉬어 곧장 I-70를 달릴 수 있는 최고 위치
- THOMAS (8/5): - Not for everyone, but fine for a single old guy driving from Memphis to Spokane. This little town died when I-70 was built. Room was an old fashioned small motel room. It was clean, conveniently located and reasonably priced. I would stay here again.
- Liz (10/5): - This motel is a great place to stay when you have a late night or early morning flight at DIA. Nothing fancy, but adequate. It was nice not being in a busy suburb of Denver.
- Liz (8/5): - Great inexpensive place to stay while flying at DIA. It is out of the busy suburbs of Denver.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Out of the city...Quiet and secluded...
- Alberto (10/5): - Exelent
- RICKY (8/5): - Fun check in. Room was nice n clean. Will return.
- James (8/5): - It was a good price in the right place for what i needed
- Tricia (2/5): - The shower water was ice cold! Even after leaving the water on for 10 minutes, it wasn’t even lukewarm.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stayed here with my fiancé for a quick night after our flight. Loved the quick drive from the airport. The hotel room itself was alright. Fine for a quick stay and safe enough. Service was alright; our plane got in at 10pm and we had messaged them ahead of time to ensure that an 11pm check in time would be doable. They had confirmed upon booking, but when our plane landed we had several missed calls from them urging us to hurry to our check in. Communicating in person and via phone call was a bit challenging and stressful due to language barriers. Overall, fine for a short stay but wouldn’t go out of my way to stay again.
- Edward (10/5): - It was very good for the value.
- Laura (10/5): Panama City review - A room turned out to be really great! The beds were super comfortable, nice sheets, great shower, and the air conditioning worked well in the July Florida heat. Also, the breakfast buffet was pretty amazing, waffle machine, fresh juices, scrambled eggs, and oatmeal with milk.
- robert (10/5): - Shower fixtures need work
Abundance of houseflys
- Jim (8/5): - All good would stay again.
- Randy (6/5): Fair but high - Room was mostly clean. TV was not connected correctly to the cable box and the price was a little high for the room.
- Sheri (6/5): - Clean older property. Desk clerk was not very friendly.
- chris (2/5): - They couldnt find my reservation after a long day on our trip. Scetcy place.
- Nancy (8/5): Clean Motel - This is just a small motel in a country town. The room we were in was very clean, every encounter with staff was good, and it suited our purpose. Would definitely stay again if I’m ever in Watkins.
- Marisa (2/5): - My flight got in late and I needed a quick place to stay. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else!!!
- Robert (4/5): - I paid for a bigger, more expensive room not facing the highway. They gave me a lesser, dirty room facing the very noisy highway, but still charged me the higher price. I felt ripped off. It did, however, feel safer and more convenient than staying in disgusting, dangerous, and over-priced Denver proper.
- Michelle (2/5): - We did not even stay on the property. There were blood stains on the ceiling of our room. It was awful and did not feel comfortable staying
- KRISTI (4/5): - We had to put towels in the door to cut down on the draft. The TV speakers were blown, underneath the beds where disgusting socks, cigarettes and other miscellaneous items. We should have slept in our car.
- patriciarH760GQ (10/5): Amazing service, stay and would highly recommend - Mind you this place may not look like a lot to many people but what is amazing is the people who own and run it. Not have I only stayed here in May but also came back in June and staying for another week. I love it because it’s out of city limits, it’s peaceful and quiet and in a small town with nothing around. The outside premises is very well taken care of along with the inside of the rooms. Yes it is an older place but it has a story to be told. They have been updating each room it seems. It’s affordable for a short term and longer stays. It’s close to a gas station along with a great little bar and restaurant down the street that I highly recommend. Being a small town girl from Montana this motel is by far what you would call a dive place but it feels like home!
- Lynda (8/5): - Front desk staff were courteous and helpful.
- Rebecca (4/5): - The beds were firm and pillows were slim and soft. There were a few hairs left behind from someones previous stay. There was an unclean, weird smell from the glad plug in.
- Alix (8/5): - It was a convenient place
- Michael (8/5): - Lots of room
- Michael (10/5): - People are friendly and place looks nice have 4 more times booked so that tells ya a little more
- Joseph (8/5): - It was ok clean not a whole lot as far as to eat
- Albert (2/5): Room Guaranteed / No Room Available - We had a room guaranteed by Hotels.Com. At 10pm when we attempted check in I was informed by rude clerk that there was no reservation. He said it was not his fault, it was the internet's was at fault. We asked if he could help us find a room he said no.
Making matters worse - Hotels.Com has promised to make the situation right and asked me to reply to an email they sent to me - I replied on Thursday Sept 30th, today is October 5th - five days since I replied and have had no response from Hotels.com, I consider this very poor customer service.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Ok so it is an older place but kept clean and the owners were very friendly
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I do not suggest this place. They gave me a nasty dusty room. My bathroom ceiling was leaking yellow liquid. Room smell like stale cig smell. Furnish is out dated. Bed sheet had stain. Towels looks older then me it feels re was over 1000x
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked that the room was clean. There was NO desk as pictured in the ad. The bathroom is TINY and NOT ADA accommodated. the owners speak very little english and the office is cramped with Plants. there is NO country store as advertised either. The owners need to revamp the ads for they are manly false.
- Darwin (10/5): - It was comfortable. Very nice place and cozy.
- Hilary (8/5): - Clean. Exacy what was expected for a motel. Desk attendant has some difficulty communicating since english was not his first language.
- Cresent (8/5): Great hidden gem Outside of Denver - The room was very big and comfortable. Bathroom could use a little updating, but was clean.
The person at the front desk does charge you some kind of tax when you get there.
- Tanya (4/5): Only hotel in Watkins, Colorado - This is a trucker hotel. Not very nice but you have a bed, hot water, shower, and toilet.
- Shana (10/5): Nice place to stay - Its clean well keep very homie feeling the rooms are large and have frige and microwave and coffee pot
- Gina (8/5): - Took a while to find my reservation, charged a small amount for "taxes", room was fine, mattresses firm bit springy, quiet.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I prepaid through Expedia. When I arrived the guy at the desk made me pay $2.50 "tax". This was obviously his way of not paying for the Expedia service. The property stinks of sewage! I would not stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay - All was great with the Hotel. The hail storm was not nice, of course not your fault :)
- mdurden (10/5): - Well maintained and gardened with wifi. Rooms were clean and more comfortable and convenient than most modern hotels we have stayed in. This property is close enough to the city for business and leisure, but not close enough for the problems such as parking. This location does have one quirk. A flyswatter was provided in the room for the pesky eaters. This was personally not a negative. It was an experience to hunt the flies and it helped pass the time away.
A microwave and a mini refrigerator containing a mini freezer section was in the room we were in and was handy to have available (Stouffers!). This, we noticed, is becoming a nonfeature in most lodgings we have stayed at.
The bathroom contained a modest tub and shower. Water was able to get too hot to stand it. Plus on having the water kept up and constantly maintained. The rest of the property was walked about by the super, who was visibly checking and maintaining the property. We did not feel dumped in a room and forgotten about here.
On a last note, the payment was very much transparent with no hidden fees and nothing holding on to our bank account like a leech for an undetermined amount of time. The whole experience was smooth and enjoyable.
Thank y'all for accommodating us!
- Jennifer (4/5): dirty - Dirty , there were ants in room. I would consider this a one star hotel
- Rick (8/5): Pleasant place to stay - Older motel but nice and clean, recently renovated.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - What I expected for a truck stop Motel. Clean towels and clean sheets.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - location location location location location location
- David W. (10/5): - It was quiet, plenty of hot water.
- Marlen (10/5): Best bang for your buck - Clean rooms, comfy bed, amazing water pressure in the shower. Loved the cozy feel!
- Sharon (8/5): - They were very loud when changing out to close the breakfast really rushing and loud.not very pleasant for .early in the morning.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This hotel was a stop over when we landed at Denver airport from Scotland before starting our vacation. It was okay and would have got a higher rating if it had not been for the terrible strong smell of smoking in the room. In spite of the fact that it clearly said 'no smoking' on the door, it stank of stale cigarette smoke which spoilt the whole experience for us. An ashtray in the room only served to encourage people to smoke in the room. Staff were fine and helpful but when we reported the strong smell of smoke in the room it seemed to fall on deaf ears.
- Rhonda (8/5): - It was nice. The room did have a smoke smell and the door said no smoking. But we were comfortable and it was quiet
- Verified traveler (10/5): It'll do - It's fine. Scary looking on outside but if you're just looking for a place East of Denver off 70 to sleep real quick and shower it will suffice if you're not a Rockefeller.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No frills but it was clean................................................
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I hate it the room was tooo cold I don’t recommend it
- SweetSnooz (8/5): Nice Surprise. - Ice forced us off the road and we got a room at Country Manor. What a pleasant surprise. An old fashioned mom & pop motel. It was clean, with comfortable beds, flat screen TV, frig, microwave, dryer and cofee maker. Everything we needed! And it was far enough off the highway that it was quiet. Plus, they welcomed our dog!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Non English speaking facility. If you speak mandarin your in!! Got propositioned by prostitute. Super thin walls, all labor type workers there. Thank goodness I’m an old oil field worker who lived in man camps, traveling without my wife or grandchildren. Expedia, list this as not family suitable hotel.
- Kelli (6/5): - The shower was old and had some nasty grout. The heater in the room did not heat well and it was cold. Other than the shower, the room was clean. Price was good. Staff was friendly enough
- TimW (8/5): - Good for the price. Clean and close to the airport. The hot water took a long time to warm up to take a shower.
- EGE (4/5): - Our room was next door to very loud people, had trouble sleeping. We also had no hot water. Thought it just took awhile. Nope. It did only cost $78 and was close enough to airport. I would not go back.
- DustyRoads (8/5): - Fluffy new towels,soft carpet,many tv channels,excellant overhead lighting,plenty parking especially for trailers,coffee in room.
No tv guide in room so ask or maybe it was jyst my room.
Great value!
- Darrell (8/5): - it is an older hotel, It had new carpet, tile in the bathroom area, and walls were freshly painted. It is a nice clean older hotel.
- rmw (8/5): - Quiet and comfortable for the price. Good food at local bar within walking distance. Nice dirt road to north to jog on.
- teamates2016 (2/5): Don’t go - We were suppose to stay at this dump on June 22. Tried to contact them on their own website before we left for flight to Denver telling them we would not be there until after midnight. We never received a response before we left home or ever. When we arrived at about 12:30 am the person behind the desk barely spoke English and I could not understand anything other we had no room. We ended up sleeping in our car after driving to Colorado Springs because that was our destination. Hotels there were booked due to an event in the area. Received an email from hotels.com from which we booked, told them what we went through and there was no response from them either. If I were you I would start looking somewhere else for a place to stay.
- pydermandy (8/5): It's about what you'd expect from a motel. - Check in was easy and staff was friendly. The room was unfinished, but it looked like they tried to renovate. They weren't full, so I'm not sure why they would put us in what I'm hoping was the one room they didn't finish. Room was clean and the fridge worked well. The tv remote didn't though, but we managed. Bed was hard, but manageable and it was on wood blocks, which didn't bother me, but it wasn't classy.
The neighbors were lighting off fireworks, which set off my PTSD, so I wasn't happy with that, but that's not the motel's fault.
Overall, a great place to stay that's close to the Denver Airport and for way less money.
- tuco11717 (2/5): Look before you book! - Room was horrible and customer service just as bad. Make sure you look at the room before you agree to stay there. I checked the bed for bugs (none), and we were so tired from travel that I didn't look at the rest of the room. Way overpriced ($70/night), although I asked for a discount & was given a rate of $65. More like a $40/night room. Bathroom was dirty, with mold on walls, brown splatters on walls beside & behind sink, filthy light switches & medicine cabinet. The front of the microwave was filthy, as were the handles and seal of mini frig. Next morning asked for a discount because of the dirty conditions, was told not possible. Owner, Peter Patel, looked at room with my husband but didn't see any problems. Told husband the room had been recently remodeled (can you hear me laughing?). When advised we would be leaving a negative review, his response was "I don't care". So much for customer service!
- crazyblueeyes08 (8/5): Very nice room - Nice big room, kinda high, but is worth it. Frodge, mic. WiFi, smoking, flat screen, hot water. Nothing really around but gas station. (Walmart 9 miles away) comfortable beds. We stayed 3 nights and definitely recommend to others.
- 574shellyg (2/5): Disgusting room - Dirty, awful. Didn't want to touch anything. Flies, smoke detector hanging from ceiling, bedspread looked filthy, never again. There were cut hairs around the bathroom sink😳if I could give zero stars I would.
- 506mandym (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE!! - DISGUSTING!! Absolutely dirty and infested with flies!! The room even had a fly swatter in it it's that bad!! I would give this place zero points if I could!!
We checked in at 1am after a 10 hour drive and had 3 kids with us that were all sleeping. We took the kids in and out them in bed. In the morning they're playing with an eyebrow razor that was in their bed all night and my daughter was cut with it!
Took the razor up to front desk and complained and the lady said there's nothing they can do. And pretty much called me a liar that I didn't find the razor in the bed and that it was my fault for letting the flies into our room!!
Called Hotels.com and they tried calling the manager and he would not issue a refund. Hotels.com was very accommodating though.
I took it upon myself to call the manager and he was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful and he was screaming at me on the phone and called me a liar also.
Whatever you do...DO NOT give this place your business and money!! Very very overpriced!!
- HonestK1610 (8/5): Clean and comfortable - This is the cleanest room we've stayed in on this trip.
They've updated beyond the superficial things. Not only is there a nice shower curtain on a curved shower rod, but the carpet and window and window curtain seem brand new as well. Nice, useful soap dish. Coffee pot seemed clean. There's a refrigerator and microwave and large flat-screen TV, and still plenty of room for our suitcases. No sleep button on the TV remote. Our room had a short sofa with coffee table, but no other table or chairs.
Flies are unavoidable here, and it is thoughtful of the management to provide a flyswatter. And there's a plunger in the bathroom.
Pets are allowed but the only place we found to take the dog is prickly stubble with prickly weeds.
Glad we stayed here. Would stay again.
- BWx2 (6/5): Decent - First visit was in room 23. $95. Two queen beds and a hideaway bed. Room was clean, and in decent shape. It took me a while to kill all the flies with the provided fly swatter. My second stay was in room six $75. Not as nice, but OK. Peter the manager is very helpful and polite.
- derekcannon (10/5): We broke down, they sheltered us. - My alternator went out ,wouldnt be until the next morning. We saw the hotel on this hot, humid day,and went in before checkout at 11 am. It was no vacancy but they found us a room someone checked out of. They cleaned it and got us in. The rooms are fair, clean, and everything works. Its great to meet people of quality here in colorade, were from washington state. So a big thank you!
- blackpowder54 (6/5): Comfortable average - Bed is comfortable, shower hot, room quiet, tv works, microwave and small refrigerator in room. Wall heater AC combination with small space heater next to bathroom. Trapped with snow for couple days, most definitely beats driving around to find different hotel. Eating places within walking distance. I have stayed in simular places and spent more money with less comfort. Also armchair with footstool was nice even if dated.
- joe_the_beau (4/5): we should have asked to see the room before paying - paid $75 for a king bed, we thought it would be a good price because we travel with our dog and it was close to where we were going. we were very disappointed, dirty carpet, worn armchair, dirty floor in bathroom, no toilet paper holder, bathroom door didn't shut, by chance I checked that window that wasn't locked, there was one SMALL space heater which we thankfully didn't need, was supposed to be non smoking but it smelled bad and stale... at least the sheets seemed clean. Probably suitable for laborers on the road but not families as I didn't feel the area was very safe.
- 82djm (2/5): Inspiration to keep on going to the next placd - When you are tired and your wife says she hurts and wants out you find a motel, right? Wrong. You keep going until you find one that looks right. We didn't.
For seventy five bucks you would expect a place that was somewhat updated. It does not need to be the greatest but nice.
This place had dirty bed spreads. The shower was all but falling apart with rotting out grout and like the rest of the bathroom, fly specks on the wall and ceiling as well as other spots I unable to name. There was plenty of hot water.
The room came equipped with a vast assortment of flies and the management was good enough to include a fly swatter.
I will say the manager was a very congenial fellow but that is about all of the good I can come up with.
- Milthill (8/5): Great value, freshly updated, clean lodging - We stopped because we were tired and there was a motel at this exit. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was. It was clean, larger than many, with a freshly remodeled bath area. The price was among the lowest on our three week trip.
- g2ws2 (4/5): Just passing thru - Ok, first I'd like to say that I understand that I'm staying at a motel, not by choice. The company I work for booked this lovely gem(sarcasm). but that being said, I don't expect much but certain things you just shouldn't see, even for a motel. The pics that come with this review will tell most of the story. The bed spread shouldn't have dirty stains/marks. The reclining chair, shouldn't look like they purchased it from garage sale. The blowdryer should be able to plug in correctly without the hassles if not having enough cord. Need better bath towels. Those are some of the negatives. Positives, include a nice HD tv with directv & many, many channels. Really good lighting, at least in the room I got. Fridge & microwave. New digital ac system. Plenty of plugs but most impressive, these plugs had USB ports. Nice hotels don't even have that, in the wall sockets. Nice! Solid Wi-Fi signal, but streaming video or loading pics is some what slow.
- AndrewandOliviaS (2/5): Country Dump - We stayed only because it was dark, late, we were tired, and we didn't want either to backtrack to Denver or drive another 80 miles or so to the next town. The room was filthy, the carpet was stained, and the bathtub drain was plugged with human hair. I checked the bed for bedbugs - fortunately didn't find any. I give this hotel one star only because 1) the system won't let it give me zero, and 2) the 4 walls and roof provided shelter and the sheets were tolerably clean. We got out of there at the crack of dawn. All this and no breakfast for a mere $90. Needless to say there is no way we would ever stay here again.
- 575RobinH575 (8/5): Pet friendly - No frills. Paid 65 dollars for two people and 3 dogs. Fridge. Microwave. Tiny coffee pot. Small bathroom. Comfortable bed. Clean sheets. Quiet. Great tv! Would stay here again. Not much else in the area for the bargain price!
- kansasokie (4/5): Only out of desperation - There are few motels in this area east of Denver,so after a long trip, and not being familiar with the area we stopped at this one. There was hair in the sheets; the bathroom was too small to turn around in. The TV took special directions to access; the furniture had holes, and the person in the office when we checked out could not speak English. Other than that ....
- ColoradoSarah44 (2/5): Gross - We stayed here for one night as we couldn't find a pet-friendly hotel in Denver that charged less than $100/night for the pet fee. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned and the room was incredibly beat up. Stains on the curtains, dirt on the walls, tub scum, etc. It was just gross. Cheap, but gross.
