Leslie (3/5): - It's convenient and has the facade of nice. They made a big deal about breakfast, went down at 7 with one guy and 30 people. There was no obvious way to even order the hot food. So I got bread, fruit, oatmeal, with coffee or juice options that is all unless I wanted to wait a half hour to order then who knows how long to make it. Could have got a better meal at the cheapest places like red roof in or motel 6.
Clovertrip (6/5): It's just an ok hotel that boasts about a breakfast you have to wait 20 30 mins just to order I guess - With 20-30 people coming down to breakfast and only one person working breakfast, my only options there were less than anywhere else I could have stayed for half the price. Bread fruit coffee and oatmeal were my only options at 7 am
David (1/5): Owners need to spend some money on facilities not just fresh coat of paint. - We have stayed at this location 100’s of times. Used to be a good property. Newest owners not keeping it up as well. Hot water took forever to get remotely tolerable. Never really got hot. Air conditioning did not blow cold, It was slightly cool. Front desk clerk said the master temperature control was set down to 60 but it never got below 73-74 degrees in the room.

For it to be a Hilton, it is one of the lower quality locations. $75 a night fee for incidentals is ridiculous. Thugs outside smoking weed, running down hallways, drug dealing outside. For the cost and the incidentals fees , you should include a complimentary breakfast. Beds are hard and uncomfortable. Very old beds.

solot315 (2/5): Cockroaches in Room 207 - Disgusting experience, both the cockroaches in my room and the hotel's response. I am copy-pasting my correspondence with General Manager Syed H. Kazmi below, which contains the details. He claims "housekeeping and engineering teams have been retrained on enhanced inspection and sanitation protocols" in just 24 hours, so he clearly acknowledges that the infestation is real (whether or not he is lying about an impossibly fast full-staff retraining). I have been offered absolutely no compensation from Mr. Kazmi or Hilton. I paid $241/night through Chase Travel. I am contacting Texas Department of Health and Human Services with full details and additional evidence (that I will not send directly to Mr. Kazmi, who is in full CYA mode). -- CORRESPONDENCE Nov 8, 2025 GM of Hilton Garden Inn Houston NW America Plaza: I just had a a 2-night stay in room 207 (Nov 5-7). As I hope your staff has now informed you, I woke up on Friday morning to see a large roach crawling above the window. I then saw another on the curtain itself. I quickly sealed my belongings, took a very fast shower, and walked out of the bathroom to see 2 more crawling across the floor towards the curtains. I left more than 2 hours before necessary for my travel, obviously not eating breakfast (for which I paid extra) or otherwise staying on the property. I am repulsed and horrified...and shocked that I have heard nothing in the 24 hours since I left. I booked this particular stay through Chase Travel (rather than directly, as with 3 other Hilton stays this year including the Canopy at Baltimore Harbor that I'm currently in), so your front desk staff did nothing more than apologize for the "inconvenience" and say that they would pass it on to you. I lived in Houston for 7 years, I am aware that roaches are an issue city-wide, but I have never experienced such an open, daylight infestation at any hotel or home. Not even close. I shudder to think how many roaches were crawling around the room at night while I was sleeping on both nights. There was no open food in my room, no food in the hallway. No open windows, no weather event or adjacent construction. This is a massive failure of maintenance, abatement, and cleanliness at your property. Upon my return home, I will be addressing this matter with Hilton, Chase, and DSHS; and protecting others with my experience on Yelp, Google, and TripAdvisor. No one else should pay $500 for 2 nights in a roach-infested hotel on the side of a highway in a city full of options. Your failure to proactively contact me same-day is a huge mistake, which I assume means that you do not consider roaches in your hotel rooms to be a problem. We'll see what others think. M6674MFchrisp (2/5): I got caught in the flight mess - 11/10/2025 - I have been a loyal Hilton Honors member for many years. The hotal staff and management are completley aware of the situation with the airlines and Air Traffic Controllers. I called today to let this poor excuse for a Hilton property know I was on a cancelled flight and would not be able to make it. I didnt want the additional no show fee added and would have liked a discount or some type of reparation. Nothing, nada,zip. The employee I spoke with was less than helpful. He went right into "there is nothing I can do for you. What a joke of an excuse and a property that obviously doesnt want business and I sure would not stay at this place on a pleasure trip. Beware of the poor business practices. I will be sure to let our travel company know NEVER to let an employee stay here again

It got to the point where I kept calling them back to back to get a response. The building also smelled like mildew and there was only 1 working elevator with you signage that the other elevator was out of order.

tmarcone (6/5): - This is my go to HGI in NW Houston. Newer property with easy access to the highway and plenty of places to eat, some in walking distance. The property needs more attention. Noticed linens left in the hallway that should have been picked up hours earlier. Trash in the hallways, not bags of it but brush picks, candy wrappers, little things that could easily be picked up and make the property better. Mold is starting to grow in the caulking of the showers. All very easy fixes with some attention to detail. Without it this property will continue to demise and drop off my go-to list in Houston.

PerryPerks (4/5): BUSINESS TRAVELERS SKIP THIS HOTEL! - Let me start by telling you their favorite phrase that will be used should you request any of the perks you expect from a Hilton or even less a HILTON GARDEN INN will be “This is a Franchise” which means you will get subpar treatment and amenities. Gold members forget any of your normal accommodations such as late 2pm checkout. They reserve the 2 pm checkout for Diamond members which typically is 4pm. Good luck. They also will lie and say it’s due to high occupancy, which when i asked what the occupancy was after fumbling through the POS screens she replies 98.4%. Which would mean if this hotel has 100 rooms 98 have sold and you 1 and 60% of the last room to sell!!! The front desk agent cant even lie properly. As there were also maybe 25 cars in the parking lot and about 80-90 empty spaces but they are 98.4% full on a SUNDAY leading into Monday which is a Shoulder night for those from the industry. If you know anything about hotel sales staying any city outside of some anomaly Sunday nights are one of the lowest revenue generating nights. Their breakfast buffet consists of the cheapest items you could possibly buy wholesale. The orange juice is more like orange Drink the stuff you get with a WIC voucher. Think Sunny D! Think Parade brand everything from the cereals to the breads! At best you will get decent WHOLE fruit and a accouterment. I will say, Donovonn the breakfast attendant was stellar and made the whole stay. He was very approachable, accommodating and engaging. The front desk staff on the other hand will try to nickel and dime your every move. I asked for a queen queen instead of a king he said oh i have to charge a different rate. With my status and the number of nights i spend on the road i know is an even trade and after push back he miraculously made the accommodation. As a former hotel manager for multiple select service brands never fall for money grabs like that. I am typically a Marriott RoadWarrior but today was the last day to use my quarterly credit with Amex so i slummed it with this HGI. The rooms are bare minimum but I give them credit in my room the A/C did work amazing and the TV is a nice smart TV so in that regard i know its an HGI and not the Waldorf Astoria but i didn’t go through with white gloves but to the naked eye it was clean and there were no unpleasant smells. Sure if you’re a business traveler and this is your ABSOLUTE only option cause you dont have a car and need to walk to the neighboring business sure stay here otherwise STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! Or expect MEDIOCRITY expect the breakfast attendant Donovonn was hands down such a breath of fresh air. I Will be advising all those on my team to steer clear of these accommodations.
Jos (8/5): Very good - Free parking. Staff was kind & it was good vibes all around. Online it said free breakfast & when we went down the sign said $10 per person. That’s one of the reasons I picked that hotel so I wouldn’t have to drive out for breakfast. I wasn’t going to pay $10 for cereal.

The manager in not receptive at all. Never ever at this hotel. Worse Hilton stay . I will not recommend this hotel for any future trips

dianafranklin4 (2/5): Not worth it, ruined our anniversary trip!! - Beautiful hotel & room, but WORST service I've ever had at a Hilton!!! To start, I have my AAA linked to my Honors account, so when I booked the room, it had the AAA discount. I tried to check in on the app & couldn't, so I did at the front desk. I was in a hurry because check-in was at 3 & I had to pick my husband up from the airport at 4:30, but he was coming in from out of the country & I wanted everything ready for when he got there. I was asked to show my AAA ID & only had the one with my husband's name, who was even on the reservation. He's the primary account holder but I am on the account also. They wouldn't accept this. I had to call AAA & they verbally confirmed I was on the account, not good enough. I didn't have the login info, as it's my husband's, & he was on a plane. I had to get a digital card emailed to me to show them. This whole process took a good 15 minutes just to check in because they thought I was using someone else's AAA account I guess?? So we were celebrating our anniversary also with him coming home from this work trip & booked the jacuzzi suite. This hotel is not close to the airport, but I looked at a lot & picked this one for the suite available. I ran up to it & did a little decorating for a little romantic surprise. There were some artificial rose petals & electric tea light candles. Before we checked out, I picked up all the candles & packed them up & did my best to pick all the rose petals up, but didn't worry too bad about some still being there as it's pretty easily cleaned up with a simple broom, which we didn't bring! We got home & I checked later & saw a $250 cleaning fee on our card!!!!!!!!! I didn't receive a phone call, email, anything at all about what this is about. There was NO damage & there weren't a lot!!! Literally a small trail from the door to the bed!! NOTHING was damaged & there was definitely not $250 worth of cleaning left behind!! This was a terrible experience from check-in until now, I've never been treated so badly at a hotel! What a horrible surprise to get for our anniversary!!!!! We travel a lot & I think I've only left one negative review of a hotel ever, but this was awful. Avoid if you're wanting to have a nice experience, especially if you're celebrating an occasion you don't want ruined by a surprise fee that costs more than the room itself!!!!!

Verified traveler (2/5): No room available for prepaid reservation - They did not hold my prepaid reservation and did not have a room for me. I was told due to canceled flights other guests extended their stays.

Olga (10/5): My only complaint was the quality of the food. - One only complaint. The food atvthe bar and grill wasn't great. My husband's burger was waaaay overcooked and the tomatoes on my salad were borderline stale. Also breakfast wasn't so great. Food was par. I get better food at McDonald's.

Audrey (10/5): - We stayed here for my best friends baby shower just for a couple days & everything was perfect. Checkin was good, our room was good, hot water , good water pressure. They turned on a fire pit in the front of the property & that was amazing! We parked directly in front of property right under the HUGE lights .
