- Lowri (4/5): - The hotel is gorgeous and the bed was delightful. We spent one night at Duisdale hotel in March 2026 and wanted to express how disappointed we were in the experience we had. We had a dinner reservation at 7.30pm. Our drinks and food order were taken together but the drinks took so long to come, we had already finished our starters by the time they arrived. My main course, the lobster tortellini was quite bad. It lacked any real flavour and the pasta was much too thick. I did mention this to staff at the time and the waiter just agreed it was very thick. Very odd. The food seemed so rushed we didn't feel we had time to relax and enjoy ourselves. We're usually the type of people that will order a bottle of wine and a nightcap but we were back in our room by 8.30pm finding the atmosphere and experience disappointing. The staff at reception were apologetic and very nice but I was very surprised that no gesture of goodwill had been taken were the bill was concerned. I would have expected the two glasses of wine to be complimentary for being so late or even our time at the hot tub taken off the bill. Anything. At breakfast this morning, I found 2 synthetic hairs in my eggs benedict and no one came to take our dirty plates away. It feels like the staff need a bit more training as this is portrayed as a high end establishment. We also found a blue cleaning cloth in one of our towels in the bathroom. We had been travelling around Scotland for a week and I never imagined that Duisdale house would be the one to let us down. We were told to send a message to management which we did and never heard back. Not worth the money.

- Delphine (7/5): - Le personnel est, de loin, le grand plus : l'équipe est jeune mais semble être de bonne volonté et est fort sympathique. La chambre est propre et la literie confortable. J'apprécie le puits de lumière dans l'entrée et la double porte qui isole bien des bruits du couloir. Le dîner est correct, sans être exceptionnel à mon goût. Tous les plats sont globalement bien réalisés, mais il leur manque à tous un petit "kick" pour les rendre marquants. Compte-tenu de la notoriété du restaurant de l'hôtel, l'ensemble du repas est donc plutôt décevant. C'était très bruyant au dîner car il y avait un grand groupe dans la salle d'à côté. C'était même difficile d'entendre ce que le serveur nous disait. Le système de check-in et d'installation des convives en salle à manger gagnerait à être plus fluide.

- Yanis (9/5): Lovely views and great food - The room and view were wonderful. Food was fantastic, breakfast and dinner. Staff were friendly, and very helpful when bringing our bag up. With having a view right next to the water was worth the extra price. There were only two things I didnt like. The fact that I requested for laundry to be done when I arrived, but the laundry staff left early when they were notified 24 hours in advance. The other thing I didnt like was that our room was directly above the front door, and every time the door slammed, I could hear it and couldn't sleep.

I would definitely choose it again and highly recommend it. The only thing I would change would be the pillows.

- Donna (6/5): No hot water or follow up comfortable bed - We were excited to stay at Duisdale House Hotel as part of our honeymoon. The staff member who checked us in was very warm and welcoming, helped with our bags, and assisted us in booking dinner, which we really appreciated. The bed was also comfortable and there was tea/coffee available in the room. Unfortunately, our stay had some issues. There was no hot water in our room, and the showers were only lukewarm. Reception advised the boiler had malfunctioned and asked us to wait 20 minutes, but even after waiting longer the water was still cold. As we had been hiking and it was late, we ended up showering anyway. We also found the hair dryer was broken, though reception quickly replaced it within five minutes. At checkout on March 6, we shared our concerns and were told someone would contact us soon, but we have not heard anything since. While the staff were friendly, the lack of hot water during our honeymoon and no follow-up afterwards was disappointing.

Sehr zuvorkommendes und freundliches Personal. Das Frühstück beziehungsweise die Frühstücksauswahl sehr grosszügig und das Abendessen ist ein 3-4 Günge Menü auch sehr lecker und es isch zwar etwas teurer aber ein fairer Preis der sich lohnt. Das wir nur 1 Nacht geblieben sind.

The peaceful Isle of Skye setting, near the storm beach and woodland, made for a peaceful setting, combined with ample parking, made it a relaxing retreat. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Rates were high, though that’s expected on the Isle of Skye in peak August season.

- Linda (6/5): Top price, but not top service - We stayed in a lodge, which was nice. No neighbours, really quiet, loved it. The bathroom was wonderful. The room itself was not overly big and a but crowded with furniture. My main ‘problem’ was that I felt the staff did not treat each customer equal and I felt at times a slight disdain. How different other customers were treated, who arrived the next day in Ferrari’s! I was always taught never to assume something about someone, based on looks, but this staff didn’t get the memo. Oh, and the first day the eggs benedict resembled hard boiled eggs. The second day they were almost good.

The location is good its inside forest. To reach here you should hire a car. There is no transportation. The room was old. There were some problems about toilets. Also there were noises in the night and in morning also.

The atmosphere was good and it was overall a delightful place to stay. There were a number of problems: There was no lunch available when we arrived as we arrived 10 mins late. Not even a sandwich was offered, despite our having travelled a considerable distance. Dirty toilet on arrival in our room. Room could have been pre-warmed on such a chilly day, it took hours for it to heat up. No soap tray in shower. No housekeeping on one day until 5.45pm and then only very brief. Each day we had to wash our own teacups etc, using shampoo due to poor housekeeping. Apparently due to staff shortages the bathroom was not cleaned properly during our 4 day stay. Phone in room didn't appear to work Sink in bathroom didn't drain properly Front door very difficult to lock and unlock, which is presumably why it was left unlocked by housekeeping on one occasion; totally unacceptable. Bathroom floor very slippery No writing materials provided No safe provided Annoying email messages, at least one per day, asking us to provide check-in information, despite our already being there. My meal on the last night was very poor and had to be sent back. I have never done this before. Considering the 4 day stay cost over £1,500, I consider this a very poor performance.

- Marie (8/5): Very good - Our lodge was lovely and comfortable, liked the underfloor heating in bathroom and the large tv £25 a night for our dog is too expensive only got a dog bed, restaurant was too expensive too £49 for two courses not good value for money
- Wendy (10/5): Beautiful hotel in Skye - Nice small boutique hotel in a nice location My room was spacious with en-suite full bathroom The only thing missing was a toilet roll holder The bed was enormous and comfortable Food was exceptional
