• Juan Carlos (10/5): Great studio in Zona Romantica - Great location, incredibly efficient check in. I was granted early check in actually. Candelaria, who is in charge of doing the job is the nicest and more efficient person, simply lovely. I was granted with 20% discount at Azafrán restaurant, at the same complex and 20% discount at Saphire beach club, really really posh! Nothing at all.

Great walkable places too. - Room was clean, daily room cleaning, nice staff (exchanged numbers first day to keep in touch with them), working AC/fans which where perfect to counteract the hot weather outside! No complaints :) A lot of other reviews said the club outside got too loud, but we actually never heard them be loud. We brought ear plugs but didn’t need to use them.

Suite propre, bien équipée, personnel très accueillant. Cependant : la suite (#3) donnait directement sur une rue passante en forte pente (Rodolfo Gómez), ce qui rend le bruit des voitures, motos et bus encore plus intense. Bars en face avec musique très forte jusqu’à tard, surtout pendant les fêtes. Bruit assourdissant même fenêtres fermées – repos et sommeil très perturbés. Parfait si vous adorez l’animation, mais fuyez cette suite si vous cherchez du calme

Ademas tienes extra utensilios de cocina y hasta una licuadora en caso que gustes preparar tu propio desayuno. El cuarto con aire acondicionado excelente limpieza cama confortable. Todo muy limpio. Resalto que lo que más me gustó es La Paz del lugar nadie te molesta súper tranquilo, la comunicación por mensajes tienes llegada autónoma en fin lo recomiendo. Localizado en una zona rodeada de restaurantes bares todo a la mano. He estado en otros hoteles en Vallarta y con seguridad este apartamento superó mis expectativas. No es nada negativo sino algo para que lo mejoren la llegada es autónoma entonces hay que llamar a un número telefónico de México , que quien no tenga una línea de México pudiera ser un inconveniente. Sugiero que se envíe el código de acceso el mismo día de la llegada o algo así

There is also a cabaret across the street. We were also able to get bwach towels and meal discounts at their other property down the street, which was right on the beach.

Many stores nearby, pharmacies, barbers and salons, laundries, groceries, cool bars - and many excellent restaurants, at all price levels. In fact one of the areas prettiest & Best Restaurants - Azafran, is right downstairs; on site. The young Head Chef is ultra talented; and knowledgeable about His Craft, Food and Wines. Rest of the service staff is impeccable as well. The Chicken Cordon Blu, with a divine mushroom soup in a wine glass - is a treat to behold. The area is close to many inexpensive public bus routes to excellent Southern Beaches, Cool Northern Destinations and well known shopping malls and all the favorite well known stores. Down at the nearby Pier many boat excursions are available to ocean accessible only enclaves; such as Yelapa, Las Animas and many more. The many helpful and knowledgeable Tour Professionals at the Pier Stands and Office - will make sure You are able to pick a tour that suits You, Your Family, Group and pocketbook. Boat drivers, crew and support staff are all serious about your safety, comfort and enjoyment. Back to the Room. Very safe and private access. Ultra clean. Nice Mexican feel. Nice view from the balconies and terraces. Rooms have all you need - nice size fridge, gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and most kitchen utensils you would typically require. The room was large, spotless, and well-stocked, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Only downside was the AC stopped working during the last two nights, which was a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, a fantastic stay!

Location is unbeatable, its my favorite part of ROMANTIC Zone, one block from beach entrance, grocery store next door, bunch of restaurants, coffee-shops, entertainment! There is a one of the charmiest gay clubs across the street but if to close the balcony door, it will be quiet after 2 am anyway! or you can choose another apartment facing street. The stuff is super friendly and helpful, cleaning is upon request, small well-equipped kitchen! Great wifi with youtube! great air conditioner! Bed is clean and comfy! Lots of towels! Nothing negative about this place! We cannot wait to be back! I put 9 score only because I desire price to be little bit less))), but its really great 3-4 star hotel. we have great easy stay, was allowed to storage our luggage before departure! • Amy (4/5): - The location of this property was the main reason we chose it. It’s just up the road from the beach and close to many restaurants and shops. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize there was a bar directly across the street that blasted music until 2 a.m. every night. A few reviews had mentioned music due to the busy area in the Zona Romantica, but they said they barely heard it after closing their bedroom doors. However, we had upgraded to a king bed with a balcony, and our bedroom door directly faced the bar—closing it didn’t block out any of the noise. There was also loud construction happening in the building from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., so we couldn’t even enjoy a quiet morning coffee on the balcony. This construction was not disclosed to us before booking. The property had a deal with a beach club, which cost 300 pesos for two people to have chairs and beachside service. However, that was the only option—there were no beach chairs provided by the property for guests who just wanted to sit on the beach without paying, and I know some places do offer that. The unit itself was clean, but we won’t be returning. If you’re sensitive to loud music until 2 a.m., this may not be the best location for you.

There is a lot of restaurants and bars around the place. Staff were amazing. Housekeeping service is great. They were so helpful and mindful. It gets loud sometimes because there is no soundproof I guess.

This is a safe, clean and comfortable property. It is basic and not frilly or fancy, but it had everything I needed. It is situated one block from the popular Los Muertos beach and is surrounded by many restaurants, clubs and shops. I would give it a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 for walkability. Its close to the Malicon too. The beach club was also great. Again, the staff there are really amazing and accommodating. The massage I had with Carlos was also a 10. I loved being welcomed at the beach club by Maria Luz every day. She made my day!

At first, I booked it for two nights because I wanted to see how the service was, but it exceeded all my expectations, and I decided to extend my stay while I was in Puerto Vallarta. Clean, fresh towels, a comfortable bed, clean sheets, a bright space, water, coffee, very cozy, and the service was amazing. The cleaning staff were very friendly, it’s close to the beach and to restaurants. I thought the price was excellent for how good I felt staying there. I’d come back many times, and when I return, I’ll definitely look for the same place.

The workers were very attentive from as soon as I got there and messages throughout my stay. I felt safe with a code needed to enter the building and a set of keys to your room. My only downside was staying at the very top of the building with no elevators, however, I was aware that there were no elevators. Also the keys would sometimes get stuck in the knob so an upgrade to a card key would be great. Overall, a great stay and would stay again.

• Heather (9/5): Good value for money- perfect for couples if you don’t mind noise at night. - We enjoyed the authentic charm of the building with exposed wood beams and wrought iron railings. The king suite was perfect for a couple and included a kitchen and clean bathroom. It’s in the zona romantica - old city area with cute cobblestone streets and mature trees. which has great proximity to restaurants and the beach. That said, it’s also a party area with bumping music into the night- every night. If you’re not into that, stay somewhere else.

• Stephen (9/5): I would stay again!! - Right location, very clean, amazingly comfortable bed. I was on the top floor and there are a lot of stairs. The bathroom smelled sometimes, but leaving the window open with the fan in the bathroom running solved the problem. These are all very minor complaints. Overall my stay was great.
• David (9/5): A delightful stay in the gayborhood - Super convenient locale in Zona Romantica, everything you need is just steps from our front door. Playa just one block down the street. Our suite #7 had a private balcony overlooking the neighborhood and had a partial view of the ocean. The suite was laid out nicely, separate bedroom with plenty of closet space and desk area, stocked kitchenette with small dining table, living area with full size sofa and chairs. Room was clean, staff was friendly. We enjoyed our stay at Olas Altas Suites If your a light sleeper or turn in early, suite #7 probably isn't for you. Go with a room on the Olas Altas side of building or an interior suite. We are night owls so the music coming from Anonimo across the street didn't bother us.
• William (7/5): It’s the bare minimum of comfort. - Bed Oven did not function at all. Need a Cutting board and at least one knife in kitchen. There was zero. Toilet paper roll in bathroom is locked in a dispenser. Dead bolt lock in Suite 14 installed does not work. Safe in bedroom should come with written instructions on how to use.
• Sheri (6/5): - There was a constant buzzing outside our window from air conditioning units out side Bars noisy across the street. Staff was great, restaurant below was fabulous c food and wait staff and chef Andreas exceptional. Very few taxis knew where it was. Place was clean, Alma awesome.

• Devin (4/5): 2/5 would not stay here again - Are group of 10 recently stayed at Olas Altas suite and unfortunately, while there were some good aspects, our experience was overshadowed by a few significant issues. Pros: Location: The hotel’s proximity to the beach is fantastic. It’s just a short walk, making it perfect for beachgoers. Cleanliness: The hotel was mostly clean, and the housekeeper was very kind and attentive, which I appreciated. Restaurant: The restaurant downstairs was decent – a convenient option for meals, especially after a day at the beach Cons: Water Issues: The most frustrating part of my stay was that there was no running water in the entire building for an entire day. Even after that, there was no hot water for most of the stay, which made it difficult to enjoy basic amenities. Sewer Smell: There was a strong, unpleasant sewer odor throughout the hotel that lingered for much of the visit. It really detracted from the overall comfort. Communication: The staff's communication was poor. I didn't feel adequately informed about the water situation, and the lack of clear updates made things more stressful. Noise: Unfortunately the noise from the bar across the street was unbearable. It continued until 3 a.m. most nights, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Overall, the issues with water, the unpleasant odor, a lack of communication from the property staff would make it difficult to recommend this hotel.

• Cory (2/5): Would not recommend. Stay away! - I will say that this place looks just like the pictures. Fortunately, the smell of sewer/gas doesn’t translate through pictures. They have shower drain covers because the drains are connected to the waste from the toilet. If you leave the cover off, you’re welcomed by the strong odor of sewer and gas when you arrive. Our group rented 5 of their suites. The first day and a half of our 10 night stay, we didn’t even have water. The first night, we had to walk to another property just to be able to shower and get ready for the night, and the water was not on til the next afternoon. Then for 2.5 more days we had hot water issues, which means cold showers for all. In total, 4 full days of water issues to start off our trip. We were in touch with management, and all they did was offer us a free breakfast and the option to use the toilets in the restaurant on the first floor of the building. As we were leaving at the end of our stay, Candalaria, the property manager, asked us to message her with what we thought was fair compensation for our issues during our stay, and we did just that. We requested a refund for 2 nights, and we received zero communication since. Which is not surprising after the way they managed our stay. So if you’re looking for a room that smells like sewer and has water issues, go right ahead and book this place. Otherwise, steer clear because it’s not worth the money, and they will do nothing to compensate you for any issues that arise during your stay.
• Ken (10/5): Olas Altas Suites Stay January 2025 - Our stay at Olas Altas Suites was great. We liked our studio with a well equipped kitchenette, which allowed us to make breakfast in the unit. Since the studio is off from the street, it was quiet despite the night life in the area. Communications with the property via Hotels.com was efficient and it provided us with all of the necessary information for our late check-in. We took advantage of the 20% discount offered to guests at the Azafran restaurant on the ground floor of the building. Excellent restaurant and service!

• Miles (4/5): Misleading Hotels.com Suggestion - I was very disappointed in this stay. The room was not as nice as the pictures on Hotels.com, our bathroom was a little dirty, the bed was very uncomfortable, and the room's windows looked out into a dirty internal courtyard with no view. The website was definitely deceiving. I was unable to cancel this stay once I arrived, and I ended up moving to a new hotel, costing me a lot more money for my trip than I wanted.

• David (6/5): Would book again for New Years or to be around fun people for a few days. Had fun, enjoyed location. - Room was good size, bed comfy, deck off bedroom was nice, Great location for NY. Location makes up for almost everything, close to beach, shopping, numerous restaurants, walk everywhere and we did. Cleaning staff friendly, as well as owner who helped us with luggage to the room. Had fun time as NYE, very noisy and party party. Wifi kept dropping, someone came and tried to fix it to no avail, no lobby to check in and on locked entrance door was a ph number to call, but we couldn't and had taxi driver call and he didn't want to and wasn't happy either. Took a lot to convince him to do this for us. This not mentioned on booking site, so be prepared. No one to help us down 3 flights of stairs upon leaving, and we are in our 70s. Noise from restaurants and music, but we eventually slept, and knew this when we booked. Hey, it's Mexico!
