Guest Reviews
- jdreimann (10/5): Clean, modern, central location. - Yet another nice stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, for our kid's graduation from UPS. Central location, security parking, appealing view over the harbor. One of the elevators was broken, so the remaining elevator was pretty crowded.Otherwise a lovely stay.
- Jonathan (1/5): No pool and Be careful of fraudulent chargers on your credit card. - Horrible. I didn’t like the service and especially the management! The place did not have a pool. I arrived way before check in and found they didn’t have a pool. Which trip advisor showed, and almost all search engines showed they had a pool. Which they don’t. I cancelled my reservation online and in person. They still charged my credit card. I did not stay at this hotel and they still charged me card and refuse to refund me. Now I have to waste more time fighting this. I’m an homers member too. So crazy! Management. And fraudulent chargers on my credit card
- Jayne (10/5): - The employees were super nice. The restaurant was good too.
- Jixin (8/5): Overall, I'm satisified with my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Tacoma. - I liked that there was a couch in the room that could be used for relaxation. I liked how the tables and counters were new, modern, and clean. The layout of the room was also very convenient, with the colors of the furniture and bedding fitting very well together. The bathroom had some issues; the flush handle on the toliet was very hard for me to use because I found it difficult to apply the right amount of pressure. The drain cover for the shower was not installed properly I think, because I managed to move it with my feet while showering.
- Rachel (10/5): -
- a (3/5): The best room doesn't make up for no sleep - The room, linens were clean. The staff tried to be helpful. Other guests being extremely loud and keeping us awake.
- Mark (7/5): -
- Linus & Corliss (9/5): -
- Lisiane (8/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): - The hotel is very comfortable. The parking lot has very narrow spaces with lots of cement poles.
- Huddleston (10/5): Had a great stay - Great location! Clean and enjoyable! N/a
- Amit (10/5): - Completely met our expectations. Area seemed safe to walk around. Close to freeway. NA
- John (9/5): very good - One of the elevators was closed for repair
- Sergei (3/5): - The room is clean and neat, staff are friendly I mentioned in my reservation that I would be having an important exam the next day and asked to provide me with a quiet room (nothing extraordinary), but instead I was woken up multiple times during the night because guests upstairs were stomping all night.
I won't stay there again.
- Diane (3/5): Wish there was a different hotel at a reasonable price close to St Joseph's hospital. - Location for my need Mixed messages regarding handicapped parking, bottles of water in room, filthy carpet, incomplete "tidying up" between days
- MILLIEN (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Palpalatok (8/5): -
- Brandy (10/5): Great customer service! Will stay again! - Loved the location and the rooms and amenities.
- Kylie (9/5): Good hotel - Clean and nice room also walking distance to the dome Nothing to dislike

- Timothy (7/5): I would stay there again. - Comfortable room. Coffee in the lobby. The staff was all friendly including restaurant and bar. One of the elevators were out of service the whole 4 night stay. The newly remodeled gym was dirty. Homeless came in to lobby, should have had security person there. The breakfast was okay but could have had more variety like cereal and oatmeal. O safe in the room.

- Ting-Shiuan (9/5): - We visited Tacoma for the concert at the Tacoma Dome. The hotel is close to the venue and the staff at the front desk also gave us a view of the dome, which is pretty sweet. The room is spacious and the bed is very comfortable. Love the food/snack shop at the lobby, easy to grab something to eat! There is no option to include breakfast when booking the room; if the breakfast is buffet style, that will be the cherry on top.
- Jill (10/5): -
- Kristina (8/5): Definitely recommend! - All the check in staff were SO nice. Loved the variety of food and drink available for making in our room. Location was great for walking to the Tacoma Dome (the reason for our stay). Rooms and facility were clean and huge. Could hear the people above us stomping all night so not sure how quiet the rooms are in general. Elevator was really slow. Smoking outside the entrance.
- Jim (9/5): -
- Arthur (10/5): Convenient and perfect - All staff friendly. Restaurant was great
- Charlotte (6/5): - The location was good. The staff was very kind. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and we had to pay to park.
- Susan (7/5): Would have like the free breakfast and a much quieter room - Asked about free breakfast that was advertised on line and was told since I didn't book directly through them we weren't eligible!?? Also, room was very noisy. Could hear every traffic noise and walking above us. location
- Bonnie (10/5): Nice hotel - Hotel is everything you need. It is clean, friendly staff, good location and secure parking (for a fee). Nothing
- Wesley (10/5): - Parking garage, lobby, and room were very clean. Breakfast seemed expensive compared to other hotels.
- Jay (3/5): It’s ok but they have hidden charges to park. - The location was good and it was clean Hidden fees….. They charge 20 bucks a day for a vehicle. This isn’t an area where one could get around without a vehicle. Great way to ensure I never return.
- Hervin (10/5): -
- Ignatier (10/5): -
- Alexander (9/5): - Breakfast, room, service, and location were all excellent.

- Arne (8/5): Insgesamt noch gut - Lage ist gut Frühstück war recht teuer.
Zimmer sehr hellhörig.
- James (10/5): - Great location, comfortable room Parking setup is a bit confusing.
- Stadler (3/5): - The rooms are clean I didn't like the fact that you advertise a swimming pool and there wasn't one
- Surya (2/5): - Shower Corridors unclean, stinky room. No breakfast although mentioned in Booking.com
- Konstantinos (8/5): - Spacious and clean rooms The location didn’t feel safe, the bathroom ventilator was incredible noisy and you couldn’t turn it off
- Giuliana (9/5): It’s was good. May come back again for following concerts. - I really enjoyed the hotel & how close it is to the Tacoma Dome & how close it’s to the pier. I liked it when breakfast was included with the stay& it wasn’t paid for but I guess because it’s now the Hilton it is now a pay for breakfast and lunch event
- Courtney (9/5): Superb -
- Kathy (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): Very good place to stay in Tacoma - I liked the comfortable bed and linens, good (not great) towels. Room size fine. In room fridge nice and cold. Although in an industrial type area the location was safe, convenient and next to Seven Seas Brewery and Camp Colvos Brewery which is a definite plus. It's also near the downtown museums and university campus. We had a great view of Mt Rainier from our room. A few years ago we stayed at The Hotel Murano a 4 star place. I'd rather stay here although I did really enjoy the numerous pieces of artwork at Hotel Murano. There's not much to not like except when it was the Holiday Inn Express there was a complimentary breakfast. Now there's a restaurant and bar area so that makes up for the change. All in all I'll stay there again
- Todd (9/5): Superb -
- Pauline (8/5): Very good - Close to Tacoma dome and clean facilities Loud alarm at 6am. Couldn’t tell if it was outside or inside
- Bailey (10/5): Was a beautiful, clean, and comfortable stay. Would stay again. - Clean, easy to use, easy to find everything The curtains were not fully sun blocking/transparent
- IlliniTrav (10/5): Nice Room - I was really pleased with our room at the Hilton Garden Inn Tacoma Downtown. It appeared to be recently remodeled, so everything was clean and fresh. I loved the view from our room, especially being able to see Mt. Rainier.
My husband has cat allergies; I realize that all Hilton Garden Inns are pet-friendly, but Nichole at the front desk was able to accommodate us.
We opted for garage parking ($18 per night) but there is street parking available.
We were able to walk to the Tacoma Art Museum and the Museum of Glass, and there are many restaurants within walking distance. There is also a restaurant located at the hotel but we did not dine there.
I have one serious concern about safety (and sleep quality) at this hotel. On the first night of our stay, the fire alarm went off at 1:30 a.m. It went off again at 4:45 a.m. and continued intermittently for the next 35 minutes. We exited the hotel, and the security guard told us it was a false alarm. There was no explanation or apology from the hotel.
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jim (10/5): In the event that I needed to stay in Tacoma, overnight, this would be the hotel that I would say at - Professional Front Desk Personnel, rooms were contemporary, rates were reasonable!
- Kendra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Sheila (7/5): Good - The rooms are large and beds are comfortable. The overpriced breakfast offering is beyond bad.
- Robert (10/5): Had fun - We liked the hotel It is located not far from an area near a lot of homeless people. Which being homeless is unfortunate but travelers sometimes worry about theft or drug usage not to say any of that is actually happening
- Jerry (6/5): Overpriced - Location I don’t think the room coffee could be any worse.
- Veronica (9/5): Superb - My room was comfortable. Great size and view. It was perfect with plenty of space. No towel bars for my hand towels or body towels
- Shengyi (4/5): Disappointing -
- Dicko (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (9/5): Superb - New, safe, secure parking. Wish there were breakfast and coffee options to go.
- Moore (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Close to hospital, had everything we needed. - Lovely, convenient facility. Would be nice if parking was free. Not a problem though
- Gaby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amber (9/5): Clean and comfy - Very clean and comfy.
- Waleed (1/5): Bad -
- Miranda (9/5): Great location; comfortable facilities. - Location Less construction.
- Jean (8/5): Great location, good in-house dining, comfortable rooms, nice staff. - Location, parking availability, attractive foyer. Walking through the university grounds is always very pleasant. The room had only plastic or paper cups, and the carpet in this pet friendly room needed an overall cleaning.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Clean Construction
- MMPJMH (10/5): WAIT, WHAT...?! A 2-BEDROOM/2-BATH SUITE AT A HILTON GARDEN INN...?! - If you have spent any amount of time in a Hilton Garden Inn, you know that a true rarity is a 2-Bedroom/2-Bath Suite (one shower, one bath tub). Here, you can find one -- along with first-rate Hilton service from every employee, starting with Lucia at the Front Desk. She got us right into our room and even gave us perfect directions on how to walk (just 10 minutes) to the nearby Glass Museum. Lucia was friendly and professional, which is a wonderful way to begin a hotel stay. Parking is just $15 and you can pull right up to the lobby entrance to unload your luggage onto carts, then drive up one floor for secured/gated parking. There is an elevator just steps from your car. While the windows do not open, there is a balcony off one bedroom and lots of windows to enjoy the downtown skyline view. A real pleasure here, very good show GM Jose.
- Anuar (7/5): Good -
- Secretary (5/5): Passable - Victoria was not a person I would put in my FRONT Lobby. Very unhappy person I felt like everytime I asked a question She was going to come over the counter. Front Desk Person needs to be friendly and cheerful NOT upset with customers for asking questions
- Victor (9/5): Superb - parking was secure Construction nearby
- Sheryl (7/5): Overall, it was good, but I wish the walls were more sound proof. - Overall, I enjoyed my stay except for the fact that I could hear the people upstairs walking around. It was pretty loud in the middle of the night so it took some time to adjust to.
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional - Secured parking
- Terry (9/5): Superb -
- Vaughan (10/5): Highly recommend! - Great location. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful waitstaff. Room was well-furnished, and when I booked the room I wasn't aware of the food and snack choices available for purchase were in the entryway! The weather. I didn't even think of bringing an umbrella. Please dial it back on the rain for my next visit.
