Guest Reviews
- Paradise41512607876 (10/5): Best near square - Excellent stay. Beautiful location, well maintained hotel. Kishan was very helpful and available round the clock for anything needed. Rooms are a bit concise but that doesn't matter as they have attached balconies to give the best view. Bathrooms are neat and clean, very hygienic. Daily housekeeping services are also great.
- Phillip (8/5): - ...
- Kamayani (4/5): - Dislikes:
1. There is no lift in the property and i was given a room on third floor (top floor here) even though I had a senior citizen staying with me. So, they weren't considerable enough to provide a room downstairs.
2. The room's bedsheets were dirty.
3. Only 1 water bottle was given for 2 people, that too was not the packed one. It was filled with aquaguard filtered water.
4. Not good value for money. I paid 3k for such a room. Not worth it.
Likes:
1. The washroom was clean.
2. The food was tasty but very slow service. Still tolerable because it tasted good.
- Norma (6/5): - I would say the hotel is not the best but it’s not the worst either. Rooms are big, clean and it has a really nice view. It’s very close to the daila lama temple, about an 8-10 min walking but it’s a very steep up hill. It makes you think twice before going out but you have to because the restaurants are in that área. The restaurant at the hotel has a nice view but was not fully working so we can only order 2-3 items from the menu. Breakfast was very basic (eggs OR bread with butter). Hot shower last couple of minutes. The hotel is very ran down. It definitely needs to be renovated. Cleaning can be improved. I loved the view I had from my room which has the best view of all but internet was not working in it, only in reception area. Tv was not working either, no a/c, only ceiling fan but power was in and out all day long but I’m not sure if that will be the same issue in the area or just the hotel. It’s definitely a 3 hotel that has potential if it could be renovated. Employees are nice but most of them did not speak English.
- 663samarpitab (10/5): Jan 2022 visit to Villa Paradiso - We stayed here for 2 days and have come back very happy. There are a few issues at the hotel like patchy internet but a lot of it depends on the weather too. The rooms are a good size with a balcony giving you brilliant views of the range… While there are a few things they fall short on, it get more than compensated thanks to the manager, the always smiling, always ready to help Kishan Ji. He got us extra blankets and 2 heaters when it got really chilly at night, for no extra it’s. Helped us with umbrellas when it started raining. The hotel is around 15 minutes hilly walk to the McLeodganj market. We had breakfast and dinner and the food is pretty decent too. All in all, a good stay. Opt for the corner most room which has the best view.
- nashit93 (10/5): Great Staff and rooms - Staff is super friendly, I left my watch during the checkout time, that person rang me , came to my location and gave me my watch. They are really sweet. They even upgraded my room after we had some issue in our room. Would recommend everyone to try this hotel. You would love it
- Ajax384205 (4/5): Disappointed with Hotel - Pros
1. Manager is helpful
2. Close to Namgyal monastry and market.
Cons
1. No lift in hotel.
2. The rooms are small and have musky smell.
3. The room needs lot of maintainanace as this looks like a old hotel. Furtinure and walls are chipping in lot of places.
4. Overall cleanliness level is poor in hotel common areas and rooms.
5. There was no water in morning , we had to request buckets of water .
6. Breakfast has very limited choices.
7. Location is hard to find especially at night , spent an hour searching in rain. Google maps takes us to roads that don't exist.
- PremKudva (10/5): A simple but friendly property - It was quite a pleasing experience staying at this property. I had chosen this property over a resort that was recommended since this was easily accessible at Mcleod Ganj. It is located right were the city starts.
On reaching I was very happy to see that the staff were very friendly and very accessible. Mr Kishan made us feel at home and so also Mr Ravindra.
The hotel is very simple but the rooms and bathrooms were clean, beds comfortable, and very warm in the cold weather of late February.
Breakfast was included but since there was no buffet, we could order the items from the menu and it would be delivered. We liked their puri bhaji.
We had come by taxi and there was no parking problem. But I have to say that there is no elevator/lift here. It did not cause us any problem since our wing had only two floors, whereas their older wing is accessed from the 2nd floor of the new wing. Do check this with other properties at Mcleod Ganj. From our casual observations many have no lifts.
Finally the reason I selected this property was the mountain and Dharamshala scenery and we were not disappointed. The mountain views of the Himalayas behind the smaller mountains was breath taking every morning.
- 889rosed (2/5): Horrible customer service - We are very disappointed with the customer service offered by this hotel. They are very rude and arrogant in accommodating our needs. The rooms need major updating. It is a very simple hotel without any amenities. We do not recommend this place to anyone.
- gauravg569 (8/5): Villa Paradiso - This hotel is just at 5-7 min walk from main square circle and also very close to the famous#illiterati cafe.
You will get good staff and good view from the hotel room, make sure you get a balcony room with mountain view.
Food is tasty and the view from restaurant area is also awesome.
Just go for it.
- stacey (6/5): Nice employees - very nice staff
Mediocre room. Tv wasn’t working
I’d skip
- AshishNarkar (8/5): Outstanding view !!!!!! - We stayed in Villa Paradiso in June 2019. We had booked the Superior Room. The reason was the view from the room. It stood out to our expectation. The view from the room is amazing. The hotel is located at a junction on way to Dalai Lama Temple. On one side you have the view of the Dhauladhar mountians, other side is the valley view overseeing the entire Dharamshala city and third side is the hill with Dalai Lama temple on the top of the hill. The view is mesmerizing.
Dalai Lama temple and Mcleodganj market are at a walkable distance only do mind the steep roads.
Food & Staff:- The food quality is good. The breakfast spread is basic. But, what stand out is the service and hospitality of the staff. They would try to serve you fresh and hot food. Infact, they made a special tea as per our requirement with more of Ginger etc, special paneer dish as per our requirement.. This service was the best part of Villa Paradiso. Kudos the team especially Mr. Kisan and Mr. Ravindra. All are very polite and helpful. They give you an experience of staying at home. Keep up the good work.
Couple of minus points:- The property is slightly old and needs refurnishing. Secondly, nowadays even Dharamshala is having high temperatures in summer. But, the breeze is good once you keep the windows open. All said and done these minus points are overcome by the view, location and the hospitality/ service.
- Veersingh0309 (10/5): Stay at villa paradiso - My stay at villa paradiso was splendid. I went in the month of May with my friends. It was a weekend getaway. The location of this hotel is perfect. The rooms are tidy and clean with great amenities. It is very close to all the tourist attractions. They hotel isnt crowded. The staff is extremely friendly. Would recommend.
- Ridhi2196 (10/5): The view was the highlight of the hotel as you can get a magnificent view of the valley and the mountains from your room - We had a marvelous stay in Mcleodganj at the Villa Paradiso. Wonderful interiors, very good service and some excellent dining too, must recommend the hotel's Restaurant for some exquisite dishes by the chef. Very reasonably priced too.
- Pilot122 (10/5): 3 days stay - The place was awesome. The vibe and the food was amazing and this place is near most of the places to visit in McLeodganj. Commutable and the staff is very friendly and they treat their guests with respect.
- holly (10/5): Great place to stay! - Clean, spacious, great location, awesome staff (very accommodating!), great views on either side of the hotel.
- Ritesh_r_k_sharma (10/5): Great experience - Reached here from bikaner on 24th. Had a 3 day stay.the stay at the hotel was as enjoyable as the trip itself.
The view from the hotel rooms and the in-house restaurant is amazing with lights of Dharamshala below and snow capped peaks above.1/2 hour in the room balcony in the morning and night was the perfect start and end of the day.
Food was surprisingly good and service prompt.
Overall the hotel scores a perfect 10 for me and my family.Special thanks to Mr. Kishan of the hotel for his efforts in making our stay pleasurable.
N.B. - the taxi arranged for us by the hotel turned out to be more economical than we ourselves would have arranged. Thanks also to Mr. Munna, the taxi guy for his safe driving and the pleasant company.
Dr.Ritesh Sharma , Bikaner
- holly (10/5): Great staff! Awesome location! Clean & comfortable - The staff is wonderful (thanks so much Kesan and others)! They are all so helpful, accommodating, and professional!
The rooms were very spacious, nice (with perfect amenities) and clean. The views on both sides of the hotel are beautiful and the hotel is located in a much quieter part of McLeod Ganj (not as much vehicle honking going on).
The shower is separated by a shower curtain which is a rarity in India. You can shower without soaking your bathroom floor. The teapot and heaters really add value to this hotel. Many hotels do not even have heaters which would have made a February visit very uncomfortable.
The restaurant food and service was great but many of the items on the menu are not always available.
- Prasoondel (8/5): Friendly stay - The hotel has good and supportive staff which made the stay memorable. We stayed for two nights. The rooms are quite comfortable and pretty close to the mountains. The dining hall is very beautiful and well organised and spacious with lot of curious items
- MartinaPinto (8/5): A warm and comfortable stay - Facing the beautiful snow capped mountains this hotel is simply awesome. Starting from the front desk the staff here are very warm and welcoming. The lounge area is my favourite place. You have some good books on the shelf a comfortable couch and all facing the mesmerizing mountains. The rooms are good and comfortable. The market place is about 10 mins walk. The food is delicious and very much like home cooked food. Overall a wonderful experience here. Would like to thank the Villa Paradiso for making it a wonderful and comfortable stay.
- Lise (8/5): - The staff was very kind. The walking distance to the temple perfect! The variety of food for dinner was limited
- Rohanbhayana (10/5): Highly recommended property !!!! - Had a gr8 time spending at this property. The hospitality, rooms and the staff are amazing. The rooms are with amazing mountain views. Food at the property was very good with homely experience and taste.
Gr8 stay and would love to be back again here soon.
Thank u Villa Paradiso.
Best Wishes,
Rohan Bhayana
- jimmysadana (10/5): Loved the stay - Had an excellent time here and on top the staff is very friendly. The view is spectacular I would like to thank the host Mr Udai Singh for his hospitality. The market is a must visit and some other locations too. But the best part was the hotel rooms neat n clean and the view
- 525PaulL (10/5): Luxurious quality residence set in wonderful surroundings - Stayed 2 nights at this luxurious villa set in the rolling countryside outside of Arquata Scrivia .
The rooms are of top quality with luxury figments and appointment.
The whole team including Fredericka are so helpful and obliging. The breakfast served by the pool is so calming and nothing is too much trouble.
The approach is a little strange through some industrial premises and a new railroad is being constructed close by but do not let this put you off this is a hidden gem
- TAPASR37 (10/5): Excellent Villa Paradiso Hotel in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India. - Wonderful Experience......
Excellent Hotel, Rooms, Location, Nearest Places and Eco-friendly staff.
Food-Excellent and Great Taste, View Rooms - Awesome and Thrill .
Rooms are good, Interior View Good
- Dalbir_S_Virdi (6/5): Rundown Property with some great view - A very strategic location as this is the last property on that road and you get a very good view of the mountains and valley; however the property is old and quite run-down. there is practically no maintenance - wall paper / paint behind the Reception desk is all torn and faded - rooms are tiny with seepage and fungus all over the walls - bathroom door may not close - woodwork peeling off at several places - cracks on the walls are clearly visible. Ask for Room 107 or 207 if available for better view. Only these two rooms are spacious. Dining Hall is good but very limited options for breakfast. Service calls for improvement as we could see Guests howling and screaming for delayed service. Despite all this very helpful Manager and Staff members and they would do their best to make your stay comfortable. Owners (who are not local) don't seem to be interested in renovating the place because this being a Tourist place, accommodation is always in demand and occupancy is high. However they might lose their business to a nice property "Hotel King Castle" which has come-up just next to this Hotel. If I was the Owner, I would pay an immediate attention for the upkeep of this place.
- hannantmrpaulh (8/5): Sensational views - Good functional hotel providing cracking balcony views.
Perfectly located to explore Dharamsala and surrounding locality. Short walk from the Buddhist temple.
Good breakfast. Had good nights sleep
Accessible WiFi.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Inconveniently located at the bottom of the hill - The receptionist (a lady) controls the hotel 24 x 7 with no other control. She appears to be involved in cheating guest by claiming excess charges for arranging taxi. She told me that taxi charges for Dalhausie is Rs 3500.00 each side due to which I was forced to cancel the trip despite booking hotel at Dalhousie. Then again for airport drop, she charged Rs1300.00 which made me suspicious about her undertable activites. Later I found that rate for Dalhousie is only Rs 4000.00 round trip and airport drop charges was only Rs 700.00. This was biggest shock of my life as I have never seen ladies getting involved in this kind of activites of cheating guests. Besides it was surprising that she had deprived the hotel from daily newspaper. I am yet to see a hotel that does not get daily newspaper even in their lobby.
- Rajiv (2/5): Very poor service - Staying at this hotel was a very bad experience for our family. the service was quite poor.Water was not available in the room and the rooms are quite small. There was frequent outage of electricity and we had to remind the fromt office staff everytime to start the generator.Location wise it is fine. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Erin (8/5): Good Hotel - Nice, clean hotel. Staff was very friendly, rooms were big, water was hot. Arranged a car for us for a day of sight seeing. Easy location to walk around, close to Dalai Lama temple. Breakfast was good
- A. P. (4/5): Everything a guest could want... but electricity - This hotel has free WiFi, free electric room heaters, and in-room electric water heaters. It also has a problem with intermittent power failures. I experienced several over the course of my one day stay. The bed sheets were not clean when I got the room, but they were after I requested they be changed. The staff aims to please, but things are still not right.
- Erin (6/5): Good basic hotel - The hotel has got new manager and is upgrading rooms. While we were there the rooms didn't have heat except for a scary plug in heater that shot smoke and sparks at me. The water was hot, the beds comfy and they provided thick quilts which made up for lack of heat. Whole hotel was cold, eating breakfast you needed a few layers. That said it was in walking distance of the main square and temple complex, the front desk was very helpful and the manager very nice. It seemed to be at the same level or a bit above the other local hotels
Will stay there again just hoping for some heat
Altamente recomendable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great service, ok location - First of all, I had great service from the GM of the hotel. They were always very willing to help and make the trip worthwhile. They also recommended a taxi driver , Suresh, who was simply fantastic, bringing us to areas for nice photographs and giving us little tidbits of the areas. The downside is that the hotel is located a little away from the main tourist attractions. You can either take a steep walk up the hill or rent a taxi at 100 rp to get to the main square. The room facilities is also okay with the room generally clean.
- Dawn (10/5): Surprisingly nice! - I had a fantastic stay at the Villa Paradiso. The rooms were great, and the view was breathtaking. The staff was incredibly helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!
