Hotel has an excellent location.
Comfortable bed!!!
Day front service guy was excellent.
.
Thank you Hotel Loreto
Kia ora and Gracias We inconvenienced the night staff man by coming back very late two nights in a row...he was not happy with us at all.
Bathroom was a bit small.
In saying all that we will stay there again for sure. Sorry night staff. They lock the door at night and your door key does not unlock main door to hotel
- Alfredo (9/5): - Sin comentarios Sin comentarios
- MarioAlexandreCostaSP (8/5): Muito bom custo benefício, funcionários atendem muito bem. - O atendimento foi muito bom. A cozinha do hotel é boa e liberada para uso. A cama é grande e confortável. A localização é um pouco complicada, pricipalmente para sair a noite, mas durante o dia é tranquilo. O banheiro tem um box apertado, e não é sempre que a ducha teve água quente.
- Carol (1/5): - EN PRIMER LUGAR NO TENIA ESTACIONAMIENTO, SUCIO EL LUGAR .
- Eduardo (8/5): -

- Mark (9/5): Staff were very helpful and accomodating -
- Fernanda (10/5): Confortável - A limpeza, o atendimento e o conforto dos quartos. Café da manhã era PAGO (isso não estava na descrição). E a localização também era um pouco ruim.
- Samila Barreto (10/5): - Fácil acesso e próximos a restaurantes, principalmente coreanos
- Daniel Fernando (10/5): -
- Bowman (1/5): The stay was horrible and the night staff was very horrible and accused my partner of being Escort - Location and the cats The Staff was horrible, and rude. They kept the front doors locked during the day most times.
- Helena (6/5): Definitely felt more like a hostel than a hotel. Would only recommend for short stays! - Simple modest and tidy. The staff were always friendly and spoke decent English. The whole place had a strange smell. And there were often paper towels left in the bathroom after cleaning. Tidy, but furnishings old and dated. Good for a short stay. But definitely not worth the price. The tour desk, was a table with brochures!
- Rachel (8/5): Good stay with iffy wifi. - The location was great and I was extremely thankful that they have an elevator. The one thing that I didn’t love was the WiFi. It was super spotty in my room and would drop and make you re-verify your access frequently.
- Pam (9/5): Hotel Loreta - YES Stay Here - Staff were all very kind & helpful.
Room was huge! Hotel has big sitting areas too.
Walking to restraunts around the corner & 1/2 hour walk to sightseeing was great. N/A
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Brian (4/5): - Internet didn’t work. Power outages and water wasn’t always hot
- Olivier (8/5): Very good -
- Sawyer (10/5): Friendly, comfortable, and a great front desk staff. - It was clean and was an interesting part of Santiago. Many good restaurants and attractions within walking distance. There was nothing really that I didn’t like. Everything was fine and it was a great value!
- Henry (10/5): Exceptional - Rooftop, big open shRed areas, helpful staff
- Montanheri (9/5): Superb -
- Joseph (10/5): - An excellent hotel in a really fun area
- Sharon (9/5): Great place to stay in Santiago - Location was great. Just a short walk to Funicular and hop on hop off bus. Heaps of places to eat close by. Supermarket and mini marts close as well. A little outdated. No USB ports in room. Whole facility could do with a spruce up. I feel Covid probably knocked it around. New lift has been installed so that's a great start.
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alexander (8/5): - Thank you very much
- Ashley (8/5): Very good -
- Ashley (7/5): Good -
- Marissa (8/5): - Nice hotel with friendly staff - it looked like they were undergoing renovations while they were there, so not all of the amenities were available. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. This is a great place to stay if you are leaving king for a quiet place that is within walking distance of great restaurants and parks
- A1681HXanthonyg (4/5): We feel cheated and swindled. - Pictures do not reflect the current condition of the hotel. Hallways not lit, no amenities, No WiFi, towels are very small and multi-colored due to age. Very old and moldy smelling. Mold in bathroom and on ceilings. It was not a pleasant experience.
- Genevieve (9/5): Very pleasant stay! I would definitely go back. -
- Alun (10/5): - This is a very nice, comfortable property. The kitchen was not open so there was no breakfast, but there were cafes near by. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them, If anything could improve it would be internet access which was patchy.
- tumbleweedchris (2/5): Filthy Scam Hotel - Do Not Stay - The Hotel Loreto presents itself online as a well kept boutique hotel in the center of many tourist activities. It is possible this image was true before COVID or something, but it is absolutely not true now. You'll notice there are not many recent reviews, which is usually a red flag but I somehow missed that. The hotel sits behind big iron gates, and you must get the front desk agent's attention through the window. The lobby is dirty and they are actively doing noisy construction on the front stairwell, which is close to rooms.
The rooms are absolutely disgusting. I'm a stout traveler and can handle a lot, but these rooms are completely unacceptable. To say the furnishings are minimal would be an understatement. The rooms have as little and as basic amenities as possible. The room was not clean at all - dirt, hair, ants everywhere. The plugs are hit or miss for what work. The shower is what made us eventually leave for another hotel. If you turn the shower on, water would come gushing out at the base of the step to enter the shower. We reported this to the front desk and they said there were no vacant rooms that did not have maintenance problems (!). Their solution was to give us a bunch of towels to put on the floor and, presumably, just flood the bathroom. This is one of the most insane things I've ever seen a hotel suggest. After telling them we wanted to leave, they magically decided a room with a maintenance problem was actually fixed. We said absolutely not and requested a full refund. They reluctantly agreed and tried to talk us out saying it would take awhile to refund. There was no way we could comfortably stay there so we left.
After time had passed, they still had not issued a refund as agreed upon. I sent them an email which they did not answer. I reported this charge to my credit card company, which was much more effective than attempting to contact these con men. After several days they replied and asked for the same exact details that we gave them when we signed in. This never resulted in a credit from the hotel. Thank goodness my credit card is reputable, but this hotel sure as heck is not.
In all my travels, I have rarely encountered a dump that tries to scam people like this. The pictures you see in these reviews are either fake or from a time when this hotel used to be run properly. They do not represent the hotel in its current state. We went over to the Novotel for only a few more USD a night. The vast chasm in quality was so enormous. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. I recommend the Novotel Providencia but you could likely find a better hotel almost anywhere else in the city. You can see I have many reviews and most positive. I do not take one star reviews lightly, but travelers need to be aware of this trap. Do not stay here.
- Arend (8/5): Very good -
- Lauraprosscross (5/5): Passable - We arrived late at night and from the outside it was not obvious it was a hotel. There were cats in the hotel and it smelt a little like cat in the reception. The photos are not really what you receive, the outdoor area was all closed off and unused. Rooms were basic although a little outdated. Internet signal was poor, i had to cancel a work online meeting as the signal wasn't strong enough. I dont think this hotel is priced accurately.
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - Fulfilled all our needs Nothing
- Veronica (10/5): - Cute hotel, well located.
- paul (6/5): - The Hotel itself is fine and good value for money - unfortunately the area around the hotel has deteriorated and was very dirty with rubbish strewn over the streets. The hotel is clean and tidy and the roof top seating area is nice. The rooms are ok but dated as are the bathroom facilities but for the price it was a good and value option to stay.
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nancy (9/5): It was a good beginning to a great trip - Staff was very helpful and friendly! It was clean and roomy within a walk from mist places
- Diana (6/5): Very basic accomodations, not what I had expected from the reviews. - They had a lovely cat named Luna, though she needed to be clipped as she was all matted. Some of the staff were very helpful and accomodating. There was not any breakfast, though I was certain that I booked a place with breakfast. The shower was due for a deep clean, there was no toilet paper when we arrived, some of the staff were not interested in assisting.
- Naik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lara (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfortable, staff were super helpful and went out of their way to help us.
- Felipe (8/5): Very good -
- Bronwyn (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (9/5): I hope to learn espaniol. - Great location. More nights
- Mickey (5/5): Passable -
- Luke (7/5): Short stay. Perfect for that. - Location was good. Close to a couple of popular places.
Staff were very helpful and available at reception if needed. Room was a good size for sharing. Wifi wasn’t strong enough in the rooms.
No airport pick up service
- Bridgette (9/5): Superb - Beautifully designed and the use of the fully equipped kitchen was wonderful. In addition the staff were exceptionally helpful.
- George (8/5): Very good -
- Julia (9/5): Very nice stay! - The staff was very helpful and so friendly! Very nice room. Clean bathroom. Good value for money. The WiFi was poor in the room.
- Thomas (8/5): Thanks to Christian - My special thanks to Christian at the desk, who went out of his way for me more than any hotel has in a very long time. He wasn't there when I xhexked out to thank him, which I regret.
- Jesse (9/5): Superb -
- Reinaldo (8/5): great locationand, nice staff and clean - it’s well organized and clean. it’s not updated. beds are a little tough
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel staff was very accommodating! They let us store our luggage early and gave us space to freshen up after a long travel day. They gave great recommendations and arranged a large taxi for us and got us a great rate to the airport.
- stephen (10/5): - Denise and Victoria were excellent at attentive to our needs and requests - not only regarding the property but also the local attractions.
- Marcelo (8/5): Good localization - Good localization
- Christian (8/5): Very good -
- Sonny (10/5): Exceptional - the staff, particularly Ignacio was very helpful and knowledgeable of the local area. His level of service was exceptional and made our stay easy and enjoyable.
- Bostonian12 (7/5): Decent for quick stay - you will carry your own bags, no elevator - It was just an ok experience. The hotel needs renovations for sure. Staff needs to be a bit more welcoming and helpful.
Location is not the best, but that is typical in Santiago. They lock the hotel gates at all times, including daytime.
All the restaurants nearby open late (no coffee place before 10 AM) and they also close early (by 8:00 pm at latest).
It was only by our 3rd day that the front-desk person smiled at us when greeting.
No one offered to help with luggage. Not to take them to the rooms, or take them out after the checking-out to take them out the gate to the side-walk for taxi. The guy just stood behind his desk, did not even hold the door. Not a good customer service experience for sure. Booked Superior Double or Twin Room, which by the way the description says king-size bed. In any case, our room was on 3rd floor. We go up to find it is a very old room, AC does not work, fridge does not work and it does not have the balcony that room description has.
After several conversations with the staff, we were finally able to move to a room, smaller in size, but at least had a decent double bed, AC working and balcony on 2nd floor.
They have hot water, coffee available but no milk. Staff did not even communicate this to us at any point, we just found it and when asked for milk, they said no.
In general not a good customer service experience. Did not feel welcomed at Loreto at all.
- George (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (2/5): - This is the armpit of The city. unsafe neighborhood, filthy property, poorly functioning parking plumbing, bugs everywhere and they lock you in because the area is so unsafe and they don’t want nefarious characters entering. We checked in and checked out 20 minutes later. The photos you see online must have been taken many years ago. This is bait and switch! Of course done manager will respond to this review and apologize, offering to make it “right” next time- don’t buy it it! This place is more in line with a crack house than a hotel. You have been WARNED!
- Qian (8/5): Very good -
- Barmag (6/5): Somewhere in Santiago - Located in the slightly bohemian Bella Vista area, some distance from the centre. The initial impression is not good thanks to the iron gate over the front door, and the graffiti-strewn walls (not uncommon in Satiago, as we discovered). Inside, it is slightly old-fashioned, but reasonably clean and tidy. Staff are friendly, but generally restricted to just one person on the front desk. No lift (elevator) and no porters. Superior Room was a good size, and comfortable with traditional furnishings. No hot water the first night, but subsequently remedied. Breakfast service is limited to a bag containing a sandwich, a pastry and a yoghurt + make your own coffee or tea in the breakfast room. No other food or drink available on site. Restaurants are a couple of blocks away, as is a local park. The metro station is about 15 minutes walk.
OK overall, but could do with more staff and some tidying up, inside and out. Think about whether the location will meet your needs - the area seems safe and not too noisy, but by no means central.
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Julia (5/5): Passable -
- Mr. (9/5): Superb -
- pamela (4/5): - family isnt hood
- Tirso (10/5): Our South American Adventure - It's a small hotel, cozy and comfortable. After five days there we felt like we were home. The receptionists were wonderful, friendly, kind and very helpful. Our room was always clean.
- Negar (4/5): - The property is very depressing looking and different than the photos online. The bedding was very dirty, filled with stains. The staff are lovely and super nice. If you can spare the additional money, I would stay somewhere else.
- Melo (1/5): Bad -
- George (8/5): Very good -
- Dennis (9/5): Superb -
- Thais (1/5): DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL - Nothing. The cleanliness is disgusting, hair and hair body all over the bathroom and the room. After we complained, they left us with NO HOT WATER to take a shower in the morning. All receptionists were so rude with us. Plus they did not follow the booking rules about charging in USD. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.
- ThaisC268 (2/5): DO NOT STAT AT THIS HOTEL - The cleanliness is disgusting. Body hair all over the floor in the room, bathroom. After we complained they left us with NOT HOT WATER to take a shower. All receptionists were so rude and no open to help or hear us.
- Melo (7/5): Good -
- Breyden (8/5): would return - Simple, great location. Room was not cleaned very well.
- Giulia (3/5): Rather rent an Airb&b - has no one to help like this “hotel”, but at least is cheaper - - The hotel's entrance is all graffiti, the hotel has no food and no room service, the hotel does not have an elevator, we asked the receptionist for help because we had very large suitcases to take upstairs and she said "this is not part of my job", when we arrived in the room, the bathroom was dirty and full of hairs on the floor
- shaunism (6/5): Warm staff, cold rooms and water - The location is great, and the staff are very friendly - they were very polite every time I had to report no heat in the room and no hot water, which was daily. They turn it off to save power, which might be fine at limited hours, but coming into a cold room after walking around in a Santiago Winter, or trying to get ready in the morning with a cold shower, is very unpleasant.
The hotel itself is totally fine, though dated. This is fine for me, I am not a hotel snob - just need a clean room in a good location - and heat in Winter.
- Jonte (6/5): - Positives:
The staff was friendly and available 24 hours a day.
The check-in and check-out processes were smooth.
I had a late flight, and they held my baggage on check-out day free of charge.
The hotel is within walking distance of fantastic restaurants and clubs.
Recommendations:
THE HOTEL CAT - the hotel has a cat named Luna. Luna roams around the hotel at her leisure. It would be nice to let guests know this before in case anyone is allergic to cats.
CLEANLINESS- The hotel was not clean. It had a layer of dust on the furniture and in the rooms. The hotel has hardwood floors, and the dirt is obvious. My bathroom was not clean before my arrival. There was hair around the toilet, and the drinking glasses in the hotel room were not properly cleaned. During my three-night stay, my room was not cleaned.
AMENITIES - The hotel did not provide the complete list of amenities listed on the webpage and their guest-welcome pamphlet. It is essential to update all websites, brochures, and third-party websites with accurate information. The hotel did not serve breakfast, and there was no bar. The concierge service was non-existent. The rooms were not cleaned daily. The tour/ticket assistance was not available.
- Christopher (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff, great location.
- aswisstravellerCH (10/5): Friendliest staff in pretty hotel - We (couple) stayed there for three nights and absolutely loved it! Although we arrived in Santiago really early and had to self-quarantine, they allowed us an early check-in and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was big and spacious and with the terrace it was everything we were looking for to do our quarantine. After we were able to leave and explore the city the staff was always happy to help& recommend us places. Cristian is just amazing and we absolutely loved his hospitality. But also the girl from the night shift was really friendly and nice. And even the facility manager (José) was amazing, we usually ended up talking to staff for much longer than intended because we had such interesting discussions! Honestly: this hotel made Santiago feel like our home and we will for sure be back! Nos vemos pronto Cristian
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We felt the location was good as with walking distance of restaurants and away from potential bad areas.
- 827stefaniek (10/5): Highly recommended - You can hardly find such service oriented staff. Really all were extremely helpful even though the difficult situation we are all facing.
Additionally the hotel itself is really nice and the beds are very comfy.
The breakfast is also very good with a lot of fruits, juices, good coffee, scrambled eggs, toast, cereals, yogurt, jam,...
The location is also ideal and ask the staff for recommendations :-)
We loved our stay and thanks for being such an excellent host for us! We highly appreciated your support!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good value, convenient location to restaurants, clubs, museums.
- bigotescancun02 (8/5): Regular Hotel - Nice room with a small balcony, the bathroom too small, no rooms in first floor for handycaps, should take care of that. Walking distance from Teleferico and monoriel and the park of the Virgen ......
- chrisinycd (8/5): Location - This is a nice local boutique hotel in a great location . The hotel is located in the Bellavista area of Santiago which is the artisan and bohemian district of the city . We loved the area with all its murals and plenty of restaurants / bars within walking distance
The hotel doesn't have an elevator something to be aware of if stairs are a problem . Our room was spacious and comfortable , a bit more storage would have been nice . We had a very small bathroom and even smaller shower , for some reason when we took a shower the bathroom floor flooded , hope they fixed this . The air conditioning and wifi were fine , the room also had a safe and mini bar . Our room had a small balcony and the hotel has a roof top deck with great views .
The breakfast was very basic and this is where there is room for improvement . Dirty dishes were left sitting on tables and the staff seemed to hide in the kitchen area afraid to interact with the guests .
We were able to walk to most of the attractions that we wanted to see in Santiago . The hotel does not have a gym but a good one is located a couple blocks away . For spectacular views of the city don't miss the funicular/cable car which are not far from the hotel .
Don't be concerned with the ongoing protests and graffiti , educate yourself . The protests were never a problem during our visit to Santiago .
Thanks to Sebastian and the other front desk staff for all their assistance during our visit
- GWGGWG (8/5): Excellent hotel in a great location - We enjoyed a short, two night stay at Hotel Loreto recently and found it to be a well located and altogether pleasant hotel.
Our room on the second level faced the inner courtyard and had access to a large (shared) balcony. It was a large room with a good sized bathroom which had (unusually) a bath-tub. The bed was very comfortable and in all respects the room was acceptable.
Breakfast downstairs was fine with a reasonable selection of the usual South American brekkie choices.
The reception staff were friendly, the maid service very good.
Great location in a really interesting part of Santiago - many good restaurants and bars nearby; magnificent street art everywhere; easy walk into the main areas of the city (Central Market; the plazas; etc).
Very highly recommended.
- mbainto (10/5): Perfect Santiago Stay - Had everything we needed and the English speaking staff made it very comfy. Sebastian was super helpful and informative. The rooftop deck and complimentary bottle of wine was the icing on the cake. The area was safe and very hip. The best food in Santiago within walking distance.
- Jerry (10/5): - Really nice and helpful staff. Gave good advice on avoiding the demonstrations. Well priced.
- E1698SHsuej (10/5): Great hotel in arty area - Set in the Bellavista area of Santiago, this hotel is ideal as a base. Nice breakfast with scrambled eggs, fruit , cereals etc.
A free bottle of wine on check in from Sebastian who speaks perfect English. Little balcony outside your room & a large roof terrace to watch the sunset over the city. Highly recommended!
- BryanF901 (10/5): Great Atmosphere and Fab Staff - Not the most modern hotel but more than makes up for this with its friendly layout and fantastically helpful, friendly staff. Good size rooms, lots of communal space including a roof terrace with views over the city. Breakfasts were very good. Hotel and neighbourhood felt safe even when there was unrest in the city centre.
- 414amandeepm (10/5): A gem of a hotel in a great location - I stayed here as part of an Intrepid group tour and it was definitely one of the best hotels we stayed at. The rooms were large and comfortable and the staff friendly warm and welcoming. Unfortunately we stayed during the recent state of emergency but the staff could not have been more helpful (they even cooked a simple dinner for us as all of the local restaurants were closed) and we felt entirely safe despite having a birds eye view of the protests.
They were also helpful in helping me arrange a day trip to Valparaíso managing all of the booking process for me and on my first night recommended the most lovely restaurant for me to dine in.
The neighbourhood of Bellevista where the hotel is located is lovely, very arty and full of bars and restaurants so the hotel is perfectly located for both there and downtown.
- Bethany (8/5): Quick comfort and easy access - I loved the stay. I was expecting the room to be a bit bigger, but I wasn't in there very much because it was in a great location. I would totally stay here again just for that alone.
