Guest Reviews
- george t (2/5): - We arrived two hours early and even though the hotel seemed almost empty wouldn't check us in
The same thing for breakfast. We showed up 5 minutes early and couldn't get a cup of coffee. The hotel seemed to be mostly empty as we never saw more than one group at any one time and usually ate breakfast in the room by ourselves or with one other couple. The hote was great but the staff were inflexible.
- Alessandro (10/5): - Good stay, comfortable and clean room, good breakfast!
- Angela (6/5): Hotel razoável mas caro. - Quarto simples bem localizado. Mas achamos muito caro pelo que oferece. Café da manha bom.
- Lindsay (10/5): - Set amongst the spectacular scenery in Purmamarca with front of hotel parking and just a walk of a few minutes down to a vibrant market and some luxurious clothes shopping. Hotel is small and personal with delightful friendly staff and good restaurant with small menú. Confortable room with usual facilites. Rooftop terrace to Watch the incredible sunset and sunrise over the Hill of seven colours.
- Lipica (10/5): - What a gorgeous hotel - it's perfectly located, with a great view of the Cerro de Siete Colores. The staff went above and beyond to help us out, the rooms were so comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was delicious!
- Carlos A. (4/5): - Property did not meet our expectations. The room toilette did not flush properly and in the morning it overflowed. Breakfast is very basic. Very poor price/quality relationship.
- John (10/5): - Lovely and clean hotel in walking distance to the center of town. Staff is very polite and helpful. The rooftop has a beautiful view of the mountains and the pool area is a nice oasis after a day of shopping.
- Ruben (4/5): - I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, it did not meet expectations. The property itself feels run down, with visible signs of neglect throughout. My room had a very strong and unpleasant odor of varnish, which made it difficult to relax and even sleep comfortably.
For the nightly rate charged, I expected more in terms of quality and upkeep. The value just isn’t there.
- Keith (6/5): - Great location with friendly staff. The rooms & property are beautiful, and comfortable, & the location is great for walking the town & dining. This all gets 4 stars. However, the WiFi was terrible in the room, the cleaning staff do not adhere to their own policy (saving water & not washing towels daily). I did as described on the sign on the bathroom door. I left my towel on the hook & it was still replaced despite what the sign said. Also the plumbing was really touchy, with the bathroom sink going from a trickle to a torrent with very little change with the knob, & you really have to crank the handle to fully turn the water off. Lastly, the breakfast buffet did not have much to offer me so I skipped it. It is all breads & pastries, sugar, dairy, & pork. As a vegetarian that is lactose intolerant & also can’t eat sugar, the only option for me was fruit. I need protein. Eggs would be great. Overall I would rate the property 3 stars as a result.
- Marie and Jim (10/5): - Very comfortable. Very nice service. No negative comments.
- Timothy (10/5): - I liked it
- Chris (10/5): - Easily the nicest property we stayed while traveling Northern Argentina. Staff was awesome. Hotel clean, comfortable, and very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice small hotel, great service, Purmamarca is a must see in the area
- madhav (8/5): Cosy hotel in Purmamarca - The breakfast is limited. Only cornflakes, no other cereal. Plenty of sweet items , if you like them for breakfast. no eggs. There is hot water for tea. A spread of fruits, only flavoured yogurt. There is a small dip pool. The rooms are comfortable and there is very little noise, if at all. This is a cosy hotel, small and just perfect for couples
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Muy buen gusto, impecable, súper bien calefaccionado.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved everything about this place, it’s location, the style and comfort in the hotel, the staff and the great breakfast!!! If I come back o Purmamarca I will stay at this hotel
- K. (6/5): - It's a tough property to rate. The hotel itself looks and is of good standing especially considering the area, but I felt it's too expensive for what it offers. Whilst nicely appointed our room was facing directly to the street, at low level, including the parking entrance of the hotel opposite, forcing us to keep the curtains closed at all times. This was very disappointing given the location of the property. The TV was tiny for the size of the room, and internal sound insulation was lacking. Breakfast was rather limited for the category of the hotel. My rating wouldn't have been so low, had I not stayed at another property in Tilcara, which whilst not as hotel-like, offered equally equipped rooms, with much better views and bigger TVs, as well as a great locally sourced breakfast, and gated parking for half the price. To note: there is limited parking space at the hotel, and it's not gated.
- Barbara (6/5): - Nicely situated, helpful English speaking staff. Bathroom was not clean on arrival asked for it to be cleaned it got a quick wipe over but floor was not washed. Stayed for 2 nights and it did not improve the second day either.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant stay in cute Andean town - This is a cute little hotel, well located near the center of this small town. Some of the rooms have views of Cerro de los Colores, The main attraction in town. It is easy to walk everywhere from this hotel, including hiking around El Cerro. Be welcoming at the front desk really depended on who was staffing it. Some of the staff were a lot more friendly than others. The rooms were good sized and even though mine faced a street, it was extremely quiet. The soundproofing between rooms, however, could be better. Overall, a pleasant stay. There’s also a nice courtyard with a small swimming pool (more of a dipping pool) and lounging chairs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really nice hotel in Purmamarca.
the restaurant is nice too.
- Ernesto Jesus (10/5): Excelente estadia....
Altamente recomendable
- Patrick (10/5): A gem surrounded by a mountain show of color! - What a gem! Purmamarca is a very undeveloped village, but this hotel is superb. Details everywhere in the architecture, spacious room with great ceiling, beautifully decorated bathroom. Beds and bedding are super-comfortable.
There is also a swimming pool, as well as a deck from which the view over the colored mountains is spectacular.
And also a restaurant, open for breakfast, and for dinner which is very convenient - and dinner is also good.
To top it, wonderful service, at the reception and in the dining room.
Stay there - you won't regret it! I only wish we had stayed longer for a perfectly relaxing time.
Kamer was goed.
- Sandra (10/5): Excelente lugar! - Nos fue fantástico! un hotel altamente recomendable. Hermoso todo y una atención excelente. Volveríamos sin dudarlo!
- Karen (8/5): Good overall. - The hotel is a 5 - 7 min walk from the main square. It is nicely furnished but our room was overlooking a dirt track which I wasn't expecting. It was fine and I think one of the better hotels in the area.
- Jonathan (8/5): Nice cosy decor, but slightly old - The male staff when we checked in can speak English, and is very friendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel is quite cosy, and just a short walk to the 7 coloured mountains.
What we don’t like is the sound proof of the room is not very good. We can hear the people talking outside our room
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice boutique hotel - Upmarket boutique hotel with very nice facilities, and decent restaurant and breakfast. Room was very spacious and well equipped. Looked to be one of the nicest places in town. Dusting could be slightly better but otherwise had a good stay and would recommend this hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): Décevant - + Chambre grande et joliment aménagée.
- Poussière, piscine sale et personnel peu avenant.
- mirta (10/5): - excelente
- Helen (10/5): - Boutique hotel with lots of character
- barbara (10/5): A gem in the middle of purmacara - A darling and unique hotel in the middle of Purmacara. Top notch in all respects. Thank you for the lovely stay.
- Graham (6/5): Nice hotel in beautiful surroundings - This is a nice hotel with great views and amenities. Lovely small town and this hotel stands out as being quality.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Terribly disappointed to find a Hotel with this rating and yet to have such horrible WiFi. My review on another web site deals with a foreign object in a bottle of wine and the manner in which the waitress dealt with same.
- John (8/5): Adobe luxury in the center of town - The hotel was a lovely find in the center of the pretty pueblo of Purmamarca. We walked to dinner, to shopping on the plaza and to see the 7-color hill. The facilities were a surprise in this small village of about 1000 people. We were well taken care of after our drive and the room was very comfortable. Highly recommended
- Michael (8/5): Nice spot! - Nice little hotel close to the center of town. Good view from the public areas, especially the terrace. The breakfast was good though heavy on the carbs as is the custom in Argentina. The front desk folks were helpful in planning an excursion to the salt flats. The rooms are good size and are quiet.
- Jean (10/5): An oasis in Purmamarca - The Marques de Tojo is a delightful oasis in this small, charming, dusty town. We had one of the two superior rooms, overlooking the Hill of Seven Colours, and it was well worth the small extra cost. The room was spacious, with a sitting area, and the bathroom had the biggest spa bath we have seen. Only one of the reception staff spoke English but they were all helpful. The buffet breakfast was good but the restaurant was not open for dinner on the 2 nights we were there. We were directed to a very good restaurant nearby.
