The hotel was situated in a good location not far to walk to all the local attractions and amenities. Wiuld definitely stay there again.

- Fiona (8/5): Wee break to york - Nice enough hotel. Well placed for sight seeing and railway station. Food not great. Rooms clean and spacious.
- Kevin (2/5): - Excited to visit the uk for the first time, where my parents and family grew up, and served in the British forces during ww1 & ww2. We were disappointed to hear that our plans were destroyed after discovering we were missing the new required ETA document to travel to the uk. We had to cancel our trip, because the ETA document would not arrive in time. We have had already booked several hotels in London, Sunderland and York. Out of compassion, all the hotels except this one credited us for future stays with them. I had notified this hotel several days in advance about our situation, and pleading with them, they refused to give any type of credit. Very disappointing. .
- Stephen (8/5): - The hotel is great and well located for town and the train station. It's just a shame that the street it's on is a bit run down.
- Sass (6/5): - Breakfast did not cater for vegetarians, it was very limited in choice of cooked breakfast no mushrooms or veggie sausages or choice of different eggs ie, boiled or fried. Bed was terribly uncomfortable we stayed 3 nights and both gone home with crippled backs. Bed was very poor for the price of the stay.

- Sonya (8/5): Good hotel in a good location - Stayed here for one night with friends and very happy with the hotel overall . Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and bed was quite comfortable. The breakfast was ok- lots of choice and they had gluten free options. It’s a 5-10 minute walk into the Centre . Parking is in the multi story a hundred yards past the hotel - if you get the hotel to stamp your card it’s reduced to £17.50.

- Tien (8/5): - The property is very nice. The only problem is the airflow. The moment we enter the room, it smells like sewage. We opened the door and kept it open with our garbage can. Front reception said that York is having plumbing issues so she gave us a fan and we kept the door open when we are in the room. I don’t know what it is as it could be a plumbing issue or they need return air.
- Balbir (2/5): - We got to the property and we were given a room we’re supposed to be a queen size bed they fob us off with a smaller bed. The TV was up in the corner and we couldn’t see it unless we sat on the chair only one person both me and my partner like to watch TV in bed and we couldn’t do that. We paid way over the odds for this room and it was nowhere of the standard we expected it to be would not be staying at their place again.

- Curtis (10/5): - Hampton Hilton York was a nice hotel to stay. It is close to York station so you don't have to wheel your luggage very far. From the hotel, you can walk to all the York attractions in the city center. The hotel also has a great breakfast.

- Katherine (8/5): - This was in a convenient location close to the railway station. The room was well appointed although we missed having a fridge. The reception people were happy to refrigerate our fresh milk for our tea which was helpful. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was also nice and it was an easy walk into York for the tourist attractions. If you turn left from the hotel there is a narrow road or alley that cuts out some walking if you head into town
- Mark (10/5): Great choice for a weekend in York - Had a really fantastic stay at this hotel. Check-In was easy. Rooms were really really clean and the whole place just looked spotless. On top of that, very friendly staff, a fantastic breakfast and a good bar. What more could you want? I was booked into another large chain hotel but changed to this one at the last minute. I'm so glad I did. Very convenient for the station.

- Dale (8/5): - Very convenient hotel a few minutes away from the train station and a few minutes from the old town. Good sized rooms. Great free breakfast included. Only downside was the air conditioning was a bit noisy though not terrible.
- Andrew (10/5): Good location, excellent breakfast. - Stayed for 2 nights, room was good and liked the fact the air-conditioning could be turned on and off. Good black out curtains as well. The complementary breakfast was excellent and yes it gets busy due to all guests having this extra but there's plenty of signs to tell you the best times to go. The hotel is on a good location quite close to the centre and within walking distance to the train station.

- David (10/5): Comfortable and quiet - It is a personal view but this is one of our favourite hotel chains for their consistency and quality across properties and this was no different. The room was quiet, clean and very comfortable; overall the hotel was clean, staff friendly, polite, welcoming and efficient. The breakfast choices and quality was adequate and the dining area kept clean and cleared promptly. Overall, very comfort and relaxing break, thank you

- OSCAR (10/5): - York is a beautiful city in England that reminds me of Greenwich Village in NYC. Fascinating shops, restaurants, with an old world charm. People were friendly and helpful. One of my most favorite places I have visited. Hotel and staff were excellent and helpful.

- Martin (4/5): - Basement room provided, windows facing an area accessed by council staff to get to their offices - we also had what I assume were hotel staff members cycling past our windows and were able to look in. People walking along the pathway on the higher road above were also able to look down into the room. Room interior was nice but we had to have the curtains closed a lot of the time.

- Shannon (8/5): - A comfortable hotel where the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast ok but a little generic. The hot items were a little dry. Parking is in a public parking lot a short walk from the hotel and there is not designated drop off area at the hotel. Its only short walk to the old town making it very convenient and thankfully it had aircon for the warm summer weather.

- Emma (6/5): - I booked this hotel for 1 reason. It said it had parking, I even cancelled another booking for somewhere after it said limited parking in favour of this one. This hotel does not have parking. It has a slightly discounted rate for the NCP down the hill. This car park is badly signposted and hard to find and it is, as I said, DOWN the hill. This means an UPHILL slog to the hotel. That may work if you are young, able-bodied and not encumbered by luggage but I am none of those things, which I why i booked a hotel that said it had parking. I get it's in central York and parking is at a premium, but be honest about it Having therefore arrived at the hotel exhausted and in pain I was not in the best frame of mind and in a mood to be a right Karen about the rest of the hotel. The room was fine, though it did take me 24hr to find the hanging space and hairdryer. It could do with someone where to put cases thats not the floor and a USB plug for device charging. TV channels limited to 1-5 and no radio stations, however the rotating chair was good and the shower excellent. No decaff in the room, though I expect that could have been found at reception, if I had had the energy left to make it back there. Bed was clean and comfy enough, though oddly close to the wall on one side? Air conditioning so complicated that it needed its own instructions at check-in and it wouldn;t go below 19C, which to me makes it a bit pointless. All in all what could have been a lovely weekend spoilt.

Of site parking very close by NCP I belive! £17.50 for 24hrs thanks to discount when staying at this hotel. Only negatives were no soft close on the toilet seat and the bed was a bit firm for me.

- Michelle (10/5): - This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. The train station is literally 5mins walk away. This time we found extra short cuts i.e.: its quicker to walk the wall to get to the castle than through the streets (we didn't miss anything in the streets this was when we were meeting friends). Everything In York centre is in walking distance from this hotel. its so quiet at night to enable a good nights sleep. The staff are so friendly & helpful. You can't go wrong with the buffet breakfast lots to choose from hot & cold food. will be staying again.

Lovely clean room on arrival, big bed but soft pillows, i believe you can request firm pillows during the booking process. Would highly recommend and definitely return again.

Plates for hot food on the small side, not quite big enough for two slices of toast. Would also prefer a choice of eggs rather just the scrambled option.

- Colin (8/5): Great for a base when visiting - This is not a luxury high end hotel however it is new, modern, great location and ideal of its somewhere to sleep whilst on a city break. Breakfast is ok apart from the waffle station which was great (my 4 year old loved it). Overall a hassle free stay and would stay again if my trip was out and about mostly.
