• hugo (4/5): mas de una hora en la puerta sin poder entrar - Llegue a la puerta de la casa donna alda tipo 20 hs. Y no tenía todavía el código de acceso. Avisé que llegaría después de las 20hs. Ya en la vereda, toda una odisea para intentar comunicación.

• Jan (2/5): - Hoy aquí nos ha ocurrido un descaro sin fondo. Las 11:00 es la hora de salida aquí y a las 10:44 el propietario intentó cobrar una multa de $50 por salida tardía a mi cuenta. Esto no es más que un fraude ya que salimos del apartamento antes de las 11:00. Tampoco es posible comunicarse con el propietario, ya que sólo llegan respuestas automáticas. El apartamento también es muy oscuro y no particularmente limpio. Definitivamente no podemos recomendarlo. ¡Descaro sin fondo!

Es la segunda vez que alquilo por Expedia y las dos son muy malas experiencia. La primera vez en un hotel de Tucumán me cobraron dos veces impuestos y ahora en salta un desastre. No uso más Expedia.

• John (6/5): Good value in Salta... - This hotel is inexpensive with very friendly staff. It is quite a bit west of the city center, but if you don't mind walking the location is just fine. Interior courtyard was pleasant. A couple of minor issues were weak WiFi and shower was slow to drain (bathroom also had lots of tile making hard to seem completely clean). Great value for the price, and don't forget to leave your key with the desk when you're out for the day.

• Anton (10/5): Very pleasant hotel, excellent value for money - Modern, clean comfortable hotel, just a little walk from the centre. Amazing value for money.
• Nounouf (2/5): Very disappointed - We stayed for 3 separate nights in between our different trips to Cafayate and Humahuaca. We got 3 different rooms (3 people). Here is our detailed experience: 1st night: room 26, the room smelled like cigarette pretty bad, it has only one power plug. We had to ask for a light bulb in the bathroom as only the mirror light worked. The shower has no curtain and the floor is flat in the whole bathroom so you flood everything. We checked in early afternoon and it's only when we came back at night that they told us they had no hot water due to boiler issue. I don't know if it happened in the meantime but it sucked anyway. The WiFi signal was bad. 2nd night: room 24, the WiFi is terrible, nothing goes through. We had to beg for a second roll of toilet paper, really something you wanna to spare your customers. 3rd night: room 16 on the ground floor, the best of the 3 rooms, with good WiFi signal and enough power plugs. Here is why they deserve a really bad review: we parked our car in front of the hotel, on the yellow line as the front desk person told us the hotel had drawn it for the customers to park. On the morning of our 3rd stay, our rental car had been broken into. They forced the trunk and stole the stereo. When we told the receptionist she said "that's why we have a closed parking on the other side of the street". We couldn't believe it! Now you can imagine that if anyone had told us they had a closed parking we wouldn't have left the car out in the street. We checked in 3 times, 3 times they saw us park the car in front and bring our luggage in and no one told us! There's no sign at the counter. The lady still had the nerve to tell us that maybe we weren't paying attention when they told us. The neighbourhood is full of car shops that sell used parts, what a surprise! This is going to cost us close to 6500ARS! Next time, advise all your customers that you have a private parking.

• Stephen (10/5): Excellent value, away from busy downtown - We liked this location so much, we came back on our return trip. Very good price, big rooms, parking across street, walking distance to international ATMs,(about 6 blocks on Espana). Grocery store is 1 block away. Friendly, helpful staff. Best days for touring city are Saturday/Sunday since there is very little traffic.

• taras318 (4/5): Not worth the money - The hotel from the outside is lovely and the entrance was great. However we were shown to our room which was very musty, and in poor condition- the paint was peeling away, the furniture wobbly and the decor very dated. It wasn't that clean either. The staff were lovely and the location is alright, it is about 10mins from the main square. Wifi was poor and we had to wait ages for breakfast too.

• Verified traveler (8/5): good, well placed base in Salta - The hotel is well placed about 9 blocks from Salta's main square and close to local restaurants anf shops. None of the staff talked any English, even so, between us all we muddled through and they were really helpful and efficient. The hotel could do with a little updating but the beds were comfortable, the showers hot and the cable tv worked. Definitely worth the money we paid for a decent base in Salta.

• Richard (8/5): Good economical hotel close to city center - The check in was fast and professional. My room was clean, had a comfortable bed and a good shower. The hotel room was quiet for my sleeping. Breakfast was included but was minimal with media lunas, tea and butter and jam. My check out was fast and the manager called a taxi for me. Internet speed and access was very good. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

When we first arrived we were put in a dark room with the shower head protruding from the wall above the toilet- we asked to switch and were given another room with a nice shower. AC is loud but works. Staff do not speak English. Breakfast is ok- coffee and bread with spreads. Kept really clean. Biggest downside is the distance from city center, map on hotels.com is wrong.

• Mrsdbyrne (8/5): Good value hotel - This is a good base to explore the beautiful town of Salta. It's about a 10minute walk to the main square or about 15mins to the other end of town which has more bars and restaurants. We were able to check in at 8am having arrived early on an overnight bus. Our room was fairly spacious with good (if a bit noisy) air con and a good shower. We were right next to reception which meant we had a good wifi connection & it wasn't too noisy. Breakfast was ok. Staff were friendly enough but didn't speak any English. Our room wasn't cleaned on Day 2 which was annoying, but this could have been because we didn't hand in our key.
• Serge (6/5): Be ready to walk! - Clean hotel with very friendly staff, but... Be be ready to walk long distances or to take a cab to reach places of interest. Also, if your Spanish is rusty or non-existent, you will have a challenge communicating with the staff. If you need a dependable and reasonably fast Internet connection, this is NOT the place for you. If was both challenging and at times impossible to connect. Also, if you stay at this hotel, hope that you will not stay on the street side room because the noise could bother you.

Aimed more at Spanish clients, staff were innovative though and we used Google translate to communicate. WiFi was ok but not available in our rooms. Simple breakfast, coffee, croissants and spreads. Location was good - 10min walk from main square. Good price!
• Emma Grand (6/5): el personal es A1 - Si tuviera que evaluar el hotel solo por el personal, le daria mas de 5 puntos; Adriana, Malena y Judith hicieron de nuestra estadia calida y amena... Son muy amables, eficientes, humanas y excelentes trabajadoras. Las instalaciones son muy modestas para el costo del hotel, quizas es lo que hace que baje el puntaje, pero el desayuno, pese a lo sencillo fue muy rico: el cafe y el pan estuvieron siempre deliciosos...

• RoyH380 (2/5): Second worst hotel after a guesthouse in Nepal - The good points: lovely staff and everything was clean. The bed was comfortable and the occasional black ant seemed quite happy for us to share. The room we had would have been quite spacious without the unwanted third bed and additional clutter of furniture. It was bright thanks to the two poorly fitting windows which faced the surprisingly busy street. We stayed three nights and on two mornings we were woken by the staff talking as they rearranged the furniture in the lobby below our room. On the third it was the banging of doors and chattering as the coach party left their rooms at 6am. Breakfasts were dreadful; dry medialunas and even drier pastry disks – at least the coffee was acceptable. The icing on the cake, so to speak, was when the temporary repair to the toilet cistern broke and we had to take the top off to flush it. I would only recommend this ‘hotel’ if the alternative was sleeping on the pavement.
• cintitodd (6/5): Convenient and cheap, what I expected for price. - Twice I stayed and the pool was closed. We chose hotel for pool to allow grandkids to swim. It is clean, convenient, free breakfast (not bad), the price is not bad. It is a typical motel, good for a one or two night stay when passing through.
• KRV-7 (8/5): All you need and a bit more - We discovered Donna Alda on the internet when searching to replace the hotel where we stayed the first night in Salta (which was horrible). We interrupted our stay for a trip to Cafayate and came back afterwards since we liked it that much. Our first room was small but very clean and comfortable. The shower was terrific!! Breakfast was Argentinian style, i.e. some cookies and "croissants". Second time our room was bigger with a huge double bed. Again very clean + super comfortable. Both times, the service was great, both from the cleaning ladies as the ladies at reception, who helped us in all possible ways. In terms of value for money, this hostel/hotel is very much worth it!!!
